Ha, sock those drooly sleeps are the best until you are woken eh.
Had a few when PG and DS had to entertain himself !

Well, had a brilliant night, meal was fab. Had a glass of champagne and half a bottle of wine and felt so drunk.

Meal was at 8pm and home for 11.15pm met by my moaning mum saying "I didn't think you'd be this late" as per usual .

Honestly, she babysits to let us out probably every 4/6 months on average but I hadn't been out for a proper night with a drink for 14 months, give me a break.

I know im lucky to have any baby sitter at all but im hardly abusing it. Grrrrr

Won't ask again.

Olivia and Evan were great, slept all night although Olivia got up at 5.15am so still zzzzz.

A little advice - don't buy a playsuit, you have to take all of your clothes off in the loo to do a wee .

PARTY c,mon, tell us you have done the test.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 29/05/2010 09:21

WMDO - so glad you had a well deserved good drink and night out . I have a 25 year old school reunion on 19th and an evening reception of a gay friend's civil partnership on 26th. Still haven't a clue what I'm going to wear but want it to look absolutely fabulous! No chance of a playsuit for me as legs are my worst feature and finding time for a meander around shops for ideas is more than difficult!

So - any style gurus on here? Size 14 [blush, 5'2, eyes of blue.. la la la la la la la la (or is that song too old for some of you),

whensmydayoff · 29/05/2010 09:58

Right, for extra skinny flattering outfit you need wide leg trousers, humungous heels and a really smart wrap around shirt/blouse with plenty of booby sticking out so great fitted bra.

After I had DS I was a size 14, im 5'2 and we had a wedding where DH was bestman and DS was only 7 weeks.

I went to coast and found that very outfit.

might still do those silky tops as they seem to change the colour and style slightly but are all the same.

Self tan or even a spray tan takes off half a stone.

whensmydayoff · 29/05/2010 11:32

coast-stores.com

Theres a pink wrap blouse, off white wide leg trousers (just get them taken up) in there and tons of other lovely stuff

whensmydayoff · 29/05/2010 11:37

OMG how nice are the maxi dresses too. Major heels for us shorty's and a balero cardi if your arms are an issue for you (as mine are at the mo).

Need to stop virtual clothes shopping with CTFN and look after lo's!!

somewhathorrified · 29/05/2010 11:46

Sorry, I've not made it on here for ages....again. I did try to catch up on the previous pages but every time I do that I have to dash b4 I get a chance to post, then the next time I get on there's another 10 pages to catch up on. So I hope I've not missed too much and hope that you're all OK and enjoying LO's.

Tobin's good, although he's still feeding every 3 hrs or less day and night. So we gave up yesterday and bought some baby porridge thinking that the carbs should mean he sleeps a little longer...ho hum...not exactly, in fact just no. Although I'm really proud of him he ate all of it without spitting any of it out and he even grabbed the spoon and tried to feed himself (quite successfully for a 19week old I thought).

Ooh at the self tan taking off half a stone...so how much do I have to use to get rid of the 2 1/2 stone I currently have bulging over the top of my trousers

CantThinkofFunnyName · 29/05/2010 17:38

T'is not funny... I keep back on here for news of Party - come on woman!!!!!

whensmydayoff · 30/05/2010 08:26

PAAAAAAAAARTY for gawd sake......WELL?

CantThinkofFunnyName · 30/05/2010 08:47

WMDO I second, third and fourth that comment!!! I was checking on all last night and this morning - not bothered about anyone else ... but this could be exciting news!!

Come on Party!!!!

jardins · 30/05/2010 18:32

Please, Party? Hurry up!!!!!!

Am recovering after my mother's visit followed by my in-laws. Fab but tiring especially as Angélique bursts into tears EVERY time she sees my MIL! It would be funny if it wasn't so fustrating. I can't help thinking it's because my MIL does NOT STOP talking. Hmmmm. My LO is seriously bright.

crumpette · 30/05/2010 18:52

PARTY! Hurry up will ya! Either way we neeeed to know! It's like we're all vicariously maybepreggers right alongside you! Either way, if you are we'll start posting you nappies and talking about your preg symptoms with glee and thus annoying the hell out of you and if you aren't we'll be insisting on a sex pre-conception diary!

Hope all's well with everyone, having a weird moment- DP's been signed off work and is planning to get signed off sick again to avoid a meeting with HR next week he's popping diazepam like there's no tomorrow and being a total pr*ck. I am considering leaving the country and living in Spain! Or Paris, or Buenos Aires.. in fact so convinced am I that I should bugger orf I have just sorted out 4 binliners of clothes to take to charity shop (and counting..)

OP posts:
crumpette · 30/05/2010 18:56

jardins that's hilarious- DD always screamed whenever she saw my mother. It was so funny, such a loud screaming cry and a real look of horror on her face. My mother is very loud and has no ability to care for babies, DD was a brilliant judge of character! DS has done it too, but not as often. It's so funny because it's only with her, with everyone else DD was fine!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 30/05/2010 19:19

Am PMSL at Crumpette wandering in and throwing a tantrum!

crumpette · 30/05/2010 19:55

Oh dear, got the M&S super weekend 'dine in' offer.. sadly this has left me with a giant apple pie that simply must be eaten, which I have duly cooked and eaten [oink!] literally the whole thing today (with extra thick cream) yum yum. Breastfeeding is my excuse! consider me out of the weigh in tomorrow!

OP posts:
maygirl · 30/05/2010 21:19

mmmmmmmmmmm Apple Pie, don't give me ideas!! Major tiredness hunger going on today, not due to DD but brilliant and late night out for my sister's hen party, woo hoo!!

Very proud of my little DD, she let me stay out from 7 till half past midnight, the longest she has ever gone without a feed . DD came to the lunch, so has been to her first hen do! Me and another mum were so excited to be out we couldn't stop dancing. We went to the Adonis Caberet, an entire club filled with rowdy hens screaming at blokes doing the full monty. Wore squeezed myself into a 'gok' suction pant/bodice thing under a moulin rouge outfit and wrecked feet wearing heels. Tottered back to hotel before DH needed to call me to as boobs exploding in the suction device! DD looked sooo tiny asleep when I got back to her, its almost like I'd forgotten I was a mum for a few hours

Glad you had fun wmdo, hope you did too at wedding ali! Well done on fitting your dress. I got my bridesmaid dress too before knowing was pregnant last year and it currently won't zip up past my waist Got till August thankfully!

Agree with the others LL, you rock feeding twins! It's lovely to hear you've enjoyed the experience too.
Have lovely bank hol tomorrow everyone xx

Newbeginning1 · 30/05/2010 21:59

I'm back woohoo!!!

Party - right, i'm going to hunt you down to get you to do this test. Do you not realise that I have nothing going on in my life and therefore I need to live it through people like yourself who actually have things going on? So please take one for the team (or just me) and do a test.

ali - how is Jacob doing and how was the wedding?

crumpette - i'm loving your plan or moving. Can Jack and I join you? After going into work on Friday and being told that working from home isn't an option even though my manager and other person above me do it regularly i'm tempted to tell them to shove their poxy job. With that in mind I dont really have anything keeping me here so Jack and I will meet you at Heathrow airport. I'll be the one wearing the baby sick and poo with a baby pulling my hair out Also, very clever DS for crying at your mum, i'm sure babies can sense evil!!!

wmdo - are you a scottish Gok Wan? If so can you please come round and give me some advice about how to hide work with my body shape?! Lol at you having to completely take off your playsuit for a wee, i bet that was a great task after a few drink

swh - good to see you back. You're from Notts aren't you? If you're coming to the meet up you're welcome to travel down with ali and I but having said that crumpette and I may need to jet back from skegnessan exotic location by then

So, the weaning with Jack is a bit of a nightmare. He's able to feed himself with hard stuff so for instance I tried him with a biscotti and he loved it but if you give him carrot etc then it slips out of his hand so i'm not sure what to do. He's also pooing like a good'en with more poos than I can count which is a big change considering he used to go every 5-7 days. Is that normal?

I've got a fun packed week with my 3 year old niece over. We're on night 1 and i've already had to have the 'please be quiet so not to wake baby jack' conversation even though i really wanted to say 'don't wake baby jack or else i'll be coming to wake you up when you're asleep or you can stay up and entertain him'. However, i'm a nice aunty so the softly softly approach will be taken.

What has everyone else got planned for the bank holiday?

whensmydayoff · 30/05/2010 22:33

Ha new, V funny. No im a scottish recluse who gets thrills from looking at how the other folk dress. I spend all of my time in jeans and two tops for BF. Bra's are more like socks on string and pants to cure a sex addict.

I dream of underwire and heels but alas it is not to happen soon.

party are you laughing at us, hmmmm. Are you looking in every now and then, throwing back your head and laughing evily knowing the answer and letting us stew.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 30/05/2010 22:42

Oh PARTY!!!!! Come on!!!!! We are going stir crazy here.

Harumph. In absence of news from Party am going to have a self-indulgent post.

It's DH's birthday and we had a lovely lunch out, then he dozed on the sofa for a bit before going out to a rugby club dinner tonight. I'm on my ownsome again, with 2 of DS's friends having a sleepover, played musical statues with DD1 and generally had a lovely day. Tomorrow am taking Percy to a lady who does dog boarding at home and are going to suss it out, taking Percy for a little visit and play date with her 3 year old Labradoodle - so by all accounts, should be quite nice. Tomorrow night have a sleepover for DD1 and her little friend.

Also.... der der der der der der.... I've won/accepted one of these timeshare type holidays when the catch is you have to go to a 90 minute sales pitch (no obligation blah blah). BUT it's for 4 nights in Orlando, 2 nights Daytona Beach PLUS an all inclusive cruise and stay for 3 nights in the Bahamas. Get 7 days car rental thrown in and a couple of park tickets for Orlando. We have to pay for flights and any additional nights but I'm sooooo excited. DH and I decided to go for it for July/August 2011 as we have 18 months to use it. What's more exciting is I've had a Florida holiday completely booked and planned twice and had to cancel at the last minute and I've wanted to go so much for years. DH went with his ex and kids 10 years ago and all our plans to go since have been put on hold because we would have to take the older 3 stepkids too. Anyway, now they are old enough to take a trade off of "here's some money to go on holiday with your mates) so we can do the Florida trip on our own (still works out thousands cheaper than them coming with us). Oooooh, that was a bit of a long self indulgent post but I am so excited (can you tell?). So all we need to do is sit there for 1 hour and a half, being fed a massive lunch and say "no, no, no, no, no" .

Right - have fed Olivia who woke early for her dream feed so better get some zzzzzs - she is now waking several times a night because she rolls onto her front and gets stuck! Many a night we are finding arms and legs stuck between mattress and cot or through the bars, her turned completely around head to foot and dummy lost on the floor, which of course causes temper tantrums, all while her eyes are squeezed firmly shut! So much for a night's sleep once she doesn't need feeding anymore.

Ok - really am going now.

alibobins · 31/05/2010 09:15

Wedding was amazing had a lovely morning with sis being pampered and drinking champagne
Jacob was a little grump but dh was wonderful and did the best he could but I did have to take him a few times.
Managed till 10.30 then had to go home but it really was a lovely day.

Apart from some child spilling bubbles all over my lovely new icandy and its stained any ideas how to get it off?

sockmonkey · 31/05/2010 09:28

cant be very careful with timeshare thingy. My DF is the most sensible man wrt money, and ended up caving and buying a timeshare (90 mins turned into 4 hours)...well 2 actually. It costs a small fortune in up-keep and other random charges. He has been trying to cancel/sell it for over 2 years now and is having no luck at all. Be very strong and say no to them (but do enjoy your holiday)

ali glad you had fun at the wedding. No idea about bubbles though

whensmydayoff · 31/05/2010 09:50

Well done ctfn and I have a feeling you will be strong. Will be a great holiday by the sounds of it.

Did you see my link to Coast and if so, did you fancy any of their stuff for your ceremony?

You can buy a thing from JoJO Mama Bebe called air wrap. It's a mesh that you velcro round the bars to stop them getting stuck etc and has really helped DD. Was a nightmare before.

Yes, ali sounded fab. Nothing like being pampered and champagne thrown in, sounds good. Is hard work with a baby out all day though.

We are on day 10 of a horrid virus/cough/cold thing. DS on day 10 and still snotty, coughy and of course, naughty!

DD on day 5 or 6 and im a day behind her without the cough. It has been a long haul and DD seems the worst. Her cough sounds very chesty and she is struggling to sleep at night.
DS wants to go out but every day we have been out with this she just screams the whole time. She is actually like this even when she is not ill, seems to like being home and DS the opposite of course. Roll on Nursery in September!

Right, well I pledge not to come on here until the weekend again as they both require CONSTANT attention or I come off to find cat having her biscuits poured over her head or some water poured into my make up box (yes, box)!

I will have to wait until then to hear about party which incidentally is making me broody now - STOP IT!

waves bye bye for now.

Hi All!!

Happy Bank Holiday Monday (to those in England)

Party - purlease pee on a stick and let us know!

May - sounds like a fab night out - well done you and well done your DD for letting mummy have a well deserved night out

CTFN - you are sensible, so you go along to the sales patter, don't sign a thing and enjoy your holiday! I love Florida, have been many times pre babies, is a great place to go with family.

Well we have had a busy one. Weaning it going well - Baby rice is being demolished, and are onto pear puree today. I also decided to do cold turkey dummy; which seems to be working as Nico is sleeping longer stretches, but having no joy dropping night feeds. Once I have completely weaned him off the breast and he is onto 3 meals a day, will do the gradual reducing of milk in a bottle with the view that eventually he will get used to taking less milk at night. Has anyone any experience of this? DS1 dropped night feeds from 12 weeks (because I was a lot stricter), so this is all new territory for me.

are we still doing Monday weigh ins? I got on the scales this morning and am 9st 12lbs. Only another lb weight loss and I am telling myself, slowly slowly is good.

Right - off to put some slap on my face, heading round to friends for BBQ once boys are up. Enjoy the rest of the day all!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 31/05/2010 13:25

Have absolutely no intention of signing a thing. Indeed, will probably be quite surly and uninterested. Have a feeling the kids will help because being stuck listening to a sales patter in Florida is hardly going to be entertaining when there is a whole world of excitement outside!

Right - ironing calls

flyingma · 31/05/2010 19:13

Thanks CTFN and MK Interestingly enough I've had windows open for the various childrens' accounts which don't do the handing over all their money to them when they are 18 thing at the same time as when I set up the CTF. I agree that 18 is too young to be given a huge sum of money but can't help wanting to put small sum in per year in case the fund performs particularly well and my kid turns out sensible... my inner gambler. Certainly not planning for it to be Uni fund or anything serious but thanks for your input... easy to get carried away with this just looking at it from an academic perspective.

Lottie I am probably going to go down the BLW route seeing as I am not in a rush to get back to work. Currently the decision hinges on whether I can be arsed to have food flung all over the place and how it is going to work trying to 'behave' when we go out for a meal... also trying to sort out the logistics as we have no official dining area since DH fitted the house out as a bachelor pad, i.e. big living room with cinema system is more impt than dining space! Anyone else taking up this challenge?

ali Glad you got yourself and wee Jacob a pressie since you have both been through so much. Motherhood is hard... these things get thrown at you and regardless of how tired or fed up you are, you can't just walk out but you need to dig deeper and somehow there is a strength/ patience for yet another hurdle! (hugs)

WMDO We need to come break your Google... stop looking up symptoms! That's your Doctor's orders!! LOL

I think party is too scared to come back on the thread till she has done another test and so she should be SO, SO, SO...?

We managed to get a photo of Aidan post-tummy time in tears, which I have put up! It makes me chuckle coz he looks so bloody miserable but I swear all we made him do was tummy time. He is much happier sitting and standing (supported)... so can I just give up hope of him rolling over or crawling and stop doing TT?
