... sorry couldn't think of a title that didn't mention how to get orange poo out of a white vest, or how to get jiggy post partum!!!

mama2b5 Hope you are feeling better now. DH gets migraines sometimes and they really knock him out.

Had a busy day out in the garden. Had to attack the hedges at the front garden and mow lawns front & back. DH allergic to grass cuttings so garden gets left to me. How I long to pave it all over! The boys don't even like playing out in the garden (both terrified of flies/bees/wasps/bugs). Mine are not the digging & eating worms kind. My arms are properly aching now. DH watched the children, and called me in for feeds.

Are other babies getting very dribbly? DD 12 weeks now and has really started to drool.

jaabaar hello!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 24/04/2010 20:42

Well that was a truly lovely first full day with Percy the Labradoodle! He is proving very easy to train because he is an "eager beaver" and just wants to please and to love and be loved. I won't lie in that it really is hard work with baby and puppy, but even at this early stage, I think it is going to be so worth the time and effort put in now.

I just have to master getting him into his playpen when it's Olivia's playtime and ensure he has been fed, eliminated etc before I put him in there.

Anyway... this is not Dogsnet is it... back to babies . She's asleep, is obviously still adorable and I'm off for an early night soon and a FULL NIGHT'S SLEEP whilst DH is on duty

mama2moo · 24/04/2010 20:43

Well I jinxed that didn't I! Af seems to have returned today - I thought you didnt get periods when you breast fed??

jardins Have you tried Floradix for you anaemia?

flyingma · 25/04/2010 09:41

at talk of tinier trousers. My hips appear to have expanded... can you lose inches off your hips or is it a bone structure that once it is out, is out and therefore I should throw out all my pre-preg trousers and jeans?

new I am sure that bubble wrap and other manners of wrapping material were part of the treasure baskets at our local children's centre. Obviously you must watch your kids whilst they play with those things but no, I don't think you are entitled to an NSPCC call out!!

LOL @ crumpette and her M&S cookies and the yellow duck. I figured that with all my tasks at home, I don't miss the junk food unlike when I work in an office. But when there is junk in the house, I will eat it so I should avoid buying any more (except my Monster Munch, that one is granted an exception)... so what did DH arrive home with on Friday evening? 2x Malteaser bunnies - nom nom!!

jardins Another one for a standy-up baby. He is ok with tummy time for the first 3 mins. He's quite strong and will hold his upper body up for a good few mins before he gets bored/ tired, flops face down and starts crying. He also appears to have learnt one half of crawling - the legs bit... he now just needs to figure out how to move his hands forward rather than crumple up in the a ball. Nothing re turning onto his back but given the recent writhering we've had on the changing table, I hope that isn't far off.

mama2b5 My understanding was that it didn't come back when BFing but mine came 2 weeks ago. That said, I attributed it to the fact that I am mainly expressing rather than feeding directly but looking at mama2moo's post above, it can happen!

Welcome jaabaar not too late to join - the thread is still going strong!

sock dribbly and gnaw-y. Aidan is currently attempting to get his whole fist into his mouth. He's managed 3 fingers and the thumb and is very near making himself sick doing it. Sophie arrived yesterday and got a quick nibble but then apparently not as yummy as his little fingers. I will persist with getting him to chew Sophie instead!

somewhathorrified · 25/04/2010 11:12

OMG Tobin is now into 3-6month clothes, I'm so depressed, yes he's 14weeks and should be in them, but he's supposed to stay little forever!!!! still it's not as bad as those first few days when I was convinced that by the end of the first month he'd be leaving home to go to uni....admits to complete insanity.

mama2b5 sympathies for the migraine, have to say I'd rather go through labour over having a migraine anyday. Naramig is really good for them but I doubt you can take it while bf.

alibobins · 25/04/2010 13:56

Putting the cot up today sob sob what is it with these babies growing up.

Jacob really enjoys sucking his thumb now he's got over the shock lol

I'm sat munching on dry roasted peanuts really have lost the motivation to diet. I do fit into my pre preg clothes I was just a chunk to begin with

Ds1 has been poorly with tonsilitis so it has been hard work during the night with both little boys wanting me (yawn) Ds1 seems better today.

Dd going away with school for 3 days tomorrow and is a big bag of excitement and nerves all in one which is so far not a fun experience.

Jacob had another funny turn Friday morning this one really scared me he was in his carseat and started shaking, his head and arms were shaking side to side his eyes wide open he was making a horrible moaning cry noise I rushed him to doctors who checked him over his temp and everything were fine so now waiting for a referal to a nurologist to rule out seizures

The doctor did say reflux can cause jerks and twitches so hopefully its all related to that.

jardins · 25/04/2010 17:04

Oh Alibobins I'm so sorry you were scared by Jacob in his carseat. It's amazing how vulnerable we feel when we become parents.

Somewhathorrified snap! When LO was 1 week old I was heard lamenting 'oh, she's already one week old I can't believe it: it's going too fast'. Now she's wearing (French therefore smaller in size) 6 month clothes and at 12 weeks she has gone through an ENORMOUS growth spurt and I can see her being out of the (French) 6 month clothes in a month. This is all going way too fast!

Mama2moo I am Floradix's no° 1 Fan and infact I got through the last couple of months of pregnancy thanks to Floradix. My VERRRRY low iron levels this time are freaking me out a little as I really had no idea how bad they were and I find it a little uncanny that I wasn't feeling particularly tired. However I must confess that I'm exhausted today and have this horrible sensation that Angélique is draining all the iron out of my body with her eager feeds. I don't know know whether to start up regularly on the Floradix or to take the vile iron tablets on perscription which bugger up my stomach.

Is anybody else feeling tired/anaemic?

Oh no! Monday weigh-in tomorrow. Yikkes. We still have loads of Easter chocolate on our kitchen shelves.

whensmydayoff · 25/04/2010 21:05

jardins Ive been feeling really tired and dizzy and just not myself at all. I hadn't thought of that. Will see about it (if I can be bothered).

I can't believe this but you know the cousin I told you all about who was paralysed from a vaccination, she has died. She was only 42.
She was paralysed from the neck down and blind but died from a chest infection. . She was perfectly healthy until they gave her a Rubella Jab at 16, fell into a coma then woke up days later as above. Poor girl and she never ever complained and moaned, was always cheery.

She was on my dads side of family so i won't be going to the funeral. I phoned my Auntie and made excuses and sent my condolences etc but feel bad.
Im scared to have my dad back in my life. I feel he is a very bitter angry man and verging on dangerous so im scared he gets into my kids lifes. Im not sure exactly what I think he will do but he is very unpredictable and there must be a reason I feel like this even if it's a gut feeling.

I think my Aunite thinks im a real weirdo/cow now.
Imagine not going and then without expecting it she started questioning me why I don't see my dad and asked me if she should intervene.
Well, did I not start rambling on and on about it and she cut me off and hung up. Brilliant, her daughter has just died and im rambling on about my relationship with my dad...stupid stupid cow.

You know that feeling when you wake up from drinking waaaaay too much and you remember just how much of a tit you made of yourself. It hits you like a punch in the stomach and you spend the rest of the day feeling cringy and miserable - thats me right now!

Off to drink wine hoping the opposite will happen when you make a tit of yourself sobar, I might find myself drunk and pleased with myself.

whensmydayoff · 25/04/2010 21:06

ali Is there any chance Jacob could have over heated? It sounded similar to what happened to my friends LO. They overheat very quickly in the car.

Maybe another possibility but reflux is a never ending stress of weird symtoms too. x

alibobins · 25/04/2010 21:19

wmdo Jacob only had jeans and a short sleaeve t-shirt on. I hope it never happens again though as I've never seen anything like it
He has been really happy and playfull the rest of the weekend.

Can't believe what a rough time you are having. I'm rubbish at saying nice things but really hope you are okay.

ctofn how's life with a puppy and a baby. We had a lovely border collie but Ds1 developed an allergy to him so we had to re-home him

alibobins · 25/04/2010 21:20

sleeve

sockmonkey · 26/04/2010 07:56

WMDO That's very sad about your cousin. Hope you feel more on top of things soon.

ali it's a worry about Jacob. I remember my DNephew doing that when he over heated, if that's what it was. Hope you get to the bottom of what's causing it.

As for weigh in.. no change for me. Still I haven't put any back on, and I haven't been trying too hard this week, so it's a bonus.

Naomi is getting a bit snug in her 0-3 months stuff, but I don't want to move her up a size cos there is stuff she still hasn't even worn! 3-6 months stuff...Noooooo!!! She's a baby!

somewhathorrified · 26/04/2010 08:10

Morning all. So I got on the scales this morning just after morning feed while naked and the scales said 11st on the dot, got dressed, had breakfast, sorted Tobin out which is nearer my normal weighing time and scales now say 11st 9lb, wth!

Ooh good news Tobin slept from 10.45pm until 6am...yay! first time he's ever made it that long and was quite unexpected as he was up yesterday for a 2am feed. I have no expectations that it will be repeated.

WMDO don't worry we all have moments like that. I'm sure your aunt isn't dwelling on it.

ali poor little Jacob, hopefully it was just a one off fluke.

whensmydayoff · 26/04/2010 08:19

somewhat what the feck are you wearing, a suit of armour?

A 9lb gain after breakie - your greedy mare!

Im just off now to view the damage.

whensmydayoff · 26/04/2010 09:07

9 lb 9??????

Thats 2lb off from last week???

BUT I had the night with friends round, remember, buffett for 60, there was 4 of us.
Followed by cakes with mum friend next day and an equally piggy weekend.
Right well clearly I have some horrible disease then.
Away to google sudden unexpected weight loss and see what paranoia I can muster from there!!

Mama2b5 · 26/04/2010 09:13

Thank you - WMDO,Jardins,Sockmonkey,SWH - my migraine is gone and i have made a full recovery, i hope that never happens again it was just such an awful experience!
Ali - ohhh what a awful scare you must of had, thank God he is fine now, i hope you get answers to why it happened!
Weight loss -??????? Somewhat ? i say nothing im not getting involved!
Isaiah - is in 3-6 they look huge on him but im still putting him in the 0-3 clothes i have but all new stuff are 3-6 & beyond - he is growing very quickly and is doing so many things hitting milestones very quickly im so proud of him everyone says " hes so alert, hes a smart one" why is it he moves to the side of the cot without the bump and bangs head on the hard side???????? i have to constantly keep on moving him!
WMDO - sorry to hear about your cousin, so young, death claims us all and its a hard pill to swallow,i also wouldnt want a father like that around my kids so i totally understand!
im off to get in the shower and tidy up he house before mr wakes for food! xx

Thanks for all your thoughts

Jacob slept really well in his cot he went from 8 to 4 then had a feed and woke at 7

Is everyone waiting untill 6 months to wean? I've read early weaning can be good for reflux.

ctofn

crumpette · 26/04/2010 13:15

WMDO So sorry to hear about your cousin. Trust your intuition with your dad, perhaps. It may be worth extending an olive branch but if it doesn't feel right, why add stress to your life? Don't worry too much about the phone call. I did something similar once, I was 19 and a relative (a great aunt) had died and I was on the phone to another aunt who I got on quite well with and she told me the great aunt had died and all I did was moan about some huge drama with my boyfriend. I was mortified afterwards but so upset at the time! I cringe whenever I recall that evening!

ali I don't wish to consistently be negative but poor you and Jacob- it really sounds, to me, as if he is fitting. I hope not of course but it sounds just like it- I hope the neurologist appt comes through soon and you can get this investigated as if they do diagnose any seizures they can usually treat them very effectively, they sound mild if that is the case.

Right I don't want to weigh myself today, I am definitely heavier! Is that cheating- do I have to?

OP posts:
crumpette · 26/04/2010 13:17

OK just done it and am actually the same weight, phew, but my trousers are tighter !

OP posts:
alibobins · 26/04/2010 13:46

crumpette my gut feeling is that he was fitting but I really am hoping I'm wrong. I very nearly phone an ambulance but it stopped so I just rang Gp who saw him straight away. He is such a happy content baby and takes it all in his stride.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 26/04/2010 13:50

Ali - so sorry to hear about Jacob. Must have been very very scary. Yes, I'm considering weaning Olivia too. She is 4 (calendar) months on Thursday and I'm wondering about buying some baby rice, bowls etc. A little apprehensive because of the reflux but any info you can give on your reading of early weaning would be great. I weaned the other two DC at or before 4 months so would not have had a problem otherwise.

WMDO - so sorry to hear about your cousin. .

Sorry if I've missed anything else - those 2 posts jumped out at me.

Everyone - never underestimate whining pup and crying baby at the same time!!

Hello all! Sorry, have been a bit lax with the postings of late...must do better!
Well I still seem to be going in the right direction with the weight - not sure how, maybe the few busy restaurant shifts I've had, or the rude awakenings from DH in the morning

Has anyone here had laser eye surgery? I've been thinking of it for some time now and was just wondering what experiences anyone else had had, or where they got it done? I enquired at Optical Express the other day, but they said I would need to wait till I stopped breastfeeding. Why would that be?

wmdo really sorry to hear your news, that is very sad. Please don't beat yourself up about the phone call, it happens to us all and I'm sure your Auntie won't hold a grudge.

ali hope you get some answers about Jacob xxx

ctofn hope you are having a better day
