Good enough for ya dog .

And sorry I do realise some are only turning 14 mths and some are nearly 16mths etc,etc......apologies!

All officially toddlers now though i think (well 120's H and HKZ's J are pulling up/taking steps now I think, think mostly everyone walking of some sort!) Scary thought!

Pat, really pleased to hear things are looking better for your friend and her baby. It sounds like she has a fantastic support network around her and with friends like you around she is blessed.

Re the boys and dd. Its the age gap that does it, they might play beautifully with dd but boy do they make up for it when they play together. Fortunately they love each other and fight in pretty much equal quantities, never a dull moment round here though.

Tree, hope you feel better. Its not the fumes from the gloss paint is it? Open all the windows and get some air in the place.

Lenni · 10/05/2010 21:43

Checked in for your news Pat. Glad she was bearing up and baby doing better.

Dog - hugs from me too. I always regret comparing
my children with others, they never bear scrutiny esp
since I think it is human nature to pick the quickest developing child to compare them to. I'm trying to be more chilled with DS and recognise his strengths since with DD I stressed too much. A is a lovely little boy, am sure it will all come together. Will fb you for
mob no, planning on trying to get to your end of Cornwall next week but depends on weather as want
to go to st michaels mount - is it even called that?? What days are you around?

missjackson · 10/05/2010 22:06

pat ROAST CHICKEN SANDWICH... you are a good friend indeed! So glad your friend is doing well, and the little one too - brilliant news that he is getting breast-milk too.

tree no wonder you don't feel well after all that DIY. Hope you sleep well and feel better tomorrow.

hkz we need some twins on this thread! My friend who has twins said she knew before she even took the hpt, as her belly had already grown! She was totally convinced from the outset and was really excited. A student doctor did the 12 week scan and said nothing about twins during his analysis - she said her mood just dropped. Then finally the teaching doc took over and said, all great, except you missed the fact there are TWO . She was over the moon.

dog A sounds like such a lovely little man, you really shouldn't worry, but it must be hard... sending you lots of hugs... like others have said, he is probably just finding his own pace, plus he has a confident older sis to do the talking for him. N's cousins didn't talk properly for ages, and now they won't stop chatting! I'm sure everyone has a story to reassure you but you must just trust in your instincts.

Waves to everyone else; sorry, I haven't done a very good job of keeping up. Busy busy busy with family stuff.

PatTheHammer · 10/05/2010 22:07

Poor you tree, hope you feel better tomorrow.

Cheers moose, she has got lots of friends and family around. I think not all of them are being understanding though, she said today that some of her family had been moaning at her that they hadn't seen him yet, i.e clearly not understanding the whole risk of infection in the SCBU and not the most sensitive thing to say to someone who is desperate to see their baby boy and can only go for a few hours at a time. I was a bit at this and a bit at some of the treatment she had post-natally but the main thing is that he is here now and putting up a good fight and seemingly doing well, so fingers crossed!

Dog, Lenni is so right about the comparison. I am constantly doing it with DS and DD at his age. Have to remind myself that DD was freakily advanced at various things and DS is just a normal, happy baby (although he did walk earlier than her so I guess he will always have that to hold over her!!).

Lenni- off on hols again........!

We have just booked a few days with DH's rellies in North Yorks in August.....anybody about in that area and can recommend any good days out for the DC's, generally around Thirsk?? Forgotten where you all are now!

I have just discovered that my wifi works in our bedroom...so am MNing in bed! Eek, I fear this could be a disasterous discovery!

Feeling really rough, got really bad kidney pain from UTI and am just waiting for ABs to kick in whilst drinking tons of cranberry and feeling sick as a dog! Joy!

Pat, thats good news about your friend and her LO

MissJ...No talk of twins! Am pretty sure its my UTI making me feel crap. Two good friends have had twins in the last year and I have witnessed thier exhaustion in the first 6 months But lovely having two also! I hope all is ok with you and your family for what must be an emotional and difficult week.

Pat, we often stop here at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on the way up to see PILs and it is lovely.

hackneyzoo · 11/05/2010 08:56

Morning 120, fab Sunday party, Lily is still jabbering on about it. Very impressed with your Mum's cupcakes and the famous 120 brownies....and your DP's enthusiasm for small children party games, he put Hugh to shame! I did point this out ot him a number of times!

Tree, hope you are feeling better x

treedelivery · 11/05/2010 09:07

Hello. Was feeling somewhat better until dd1 had explosive vomiting all over the car on way to school. Horrid as it is to say I really wanted to crack on today and do laundry and reclaim house from nature.
Dishwasher is bust and I have run out of washng up liquid! Argh! Sink is overflowing and it's stressing me out. Also went on the lounge today - not good. Dust bunnies size of your fist

Poor dd in bath gettng the worst of it off, she has an ezcema flare up too so a bath the last thing she needs.

Oh hkz, get better soon. uti's are the pits.

120 · 11/05/2010 10:48

120 · 11/05/2010 11:34

lol hz. me too, me too. want the lovely won ton noodle soup from the place opposite my office too. grr. will have to make do with birthday cake (tis lemon drizzle from the nursery party, this time). glad you like the new mats

morning tink

treedelivery · 11/05/2010 12:12

Hey 120 - ouch bad bag! New stock - very exciting! Have you thought of finding a distribution company? finkahead nursery is Octo from the nappy thread, and she is a star. Wonder if she's like your posters for her Bespoke Baby Room business?

OK - have managed to hoover, which is good going really. Mil and FIL came down, and brought washng liquid, so at least we have clean bottles!

We just had sleet and hailstones, a bit random really. This time 3 years ago I got married. On Saturday gone really, which we hardly realised due to dd2 being up till all hours. Actual anniversary is tomorrow. Was meant to get a card today - eek! To celebrate I am working nights , and long day Sunday. Might try to do a nice Sat eve dinner again. Tried that Sat gone but ate it at 10pm, dh ate his in dark with dd2

Never mind, things will get easier. And we have a dd2 to eat dinner with on our anniversary, which is what a lot of people crave. So no complaints really. Just worries a lack of quality time with dh will affect marriage in some way.....??

Eggy lady's husband just text to ask what kind of pushchair we have. How ace, they are shopping for pushchairs. Imagine how exciting it must be for them.

Hope you got mega £££ Tink!

The party sounds fabby HKZ.

120 · 11/05/2010 13:40

Hey tree, good thinking, will contact Octo. Thanks!

Good news from Eggy lady.. am very excited about it all for you. Think the whole process is utterly amazing.

Party was fabby, and HZ was a star and did all the face painting for us, despite looking rather pale with a hint of green (without the paint)!

Congrats on your anniversary. It can be romantic with three (provided she goes to sleep at some point!). I have the same worries as you. I tend to try and give DP more time on his own, rather than more time with me, as I sort of feel we have to find ourselves a bit more before we can give to each other as we have just felt like those metal balls in pin ball machines. No idea where we are going or what's going to happen next, and all at high velocity!

H books. Trapped here too, which with dd2 I am used too after last year of her sleeping on me, but with both of them is 1000% more stressfull. Dunno why that should be!? Glad ds is coming through it.

120 - you describe it perfectly!

Soooooo, add to grumpy dd1, a grumpy non-napping dd2, I have the shivers etc.....the car seats covered in puke, the car in the garage, the burst water pipe in the old ktchen, the flooded room, the washer now can't use.....

....having a right laugh today!

Mustn't forget dentist at 4.20 either, dd1. Mustn't forget!!! Happily it's a walk.

Can I afford to take dd's to see Justine do his live show at our open air theatre? Hmmm.
