Good enough for ya dog .

All officially toddlers now though i think (well 120's H and HKZ's J are pulling up/taking steps now I think, think mostly everyone walking of some sort!) Scary thought!

Books Love the image of DD on the steps with the maraca in hand. DD also loves sitting on little ledges, rocks, curbs, and her steps into her bedroom. We set up her little 'library' on the ledge and she sits there and loves it... plus its up high so she has a new view of the house and us. lol

DD is going to be the kid that eats the paste at pre-school. lol. When do they stop eating crayons, or anything that is inedible for that matter? She shoves everything in there in a snap! She's almost a year and a half.

Yesterday I completely finished tending the garden to get it ready for sodding. Just need to get a few large rocks to block the dip in the property that I'll be putting in some flowers to next week. Its looking nice out there. We won't be confined to the porch this year or having to haul ass somewhere for grass to run on. Nice.

chefswife · 18/05/2010 19:40

puts warm cloth on HKZ's forehead

120 · 18/05/2010 20:11

chef garden sounds fab

tink, lets see a pic!

HZ, get thee lots of cheese and ham baguettes. tis the way forward. I craved them and doughnuts. not completely surprising how much weight I put on then..

good to see another runner pat! I'm doing run to the beat in sept (1/2 marathon) so my schedule should be 3m easy run / 3m interval training / 4 mile long run. continue for the next 16 weeks, upping the long run by .5 every week and adding a mile to the little runs every 5 weeks or so. We shall see! My main motivation is losing the 10 kilos that will let me use my wardrobe again instead of looking like a lardy lump. (key running mantra: this is for you). Don't think I'll lose the fat until I get my spin bike back though. And stop feeding H. It's absolute rubbish about B/F burning calories; it seems to keep me fat!

Evening all

Ds1 still very poorly and refusing to eat. He has had 2 calippo ice-lollies, 1 strawberry, 2 grapes, a quarter of a piece of toast and 2 mouthfuls of jelly since Saturday. Every mouthful is a fight, as he is convinced he will be sick again if he eats. Can't believe I had to force/threaten/cajole him to eat an ice-lolly today, he normally loves them.

HKZ, sorry you are still feeling sick. Hope it passes soon.

Tink, yay for new hairdo. It always perks me up if I have a new style/colour. Don't know why I never manage to get to the hairdressers really.

120, just realised I still haven't left feedback for you. Will go straight there now.

No other news here, am still ridiculously tired.

Ooo, except I bought our early bird tickets for next year's festival this morning. So this time next year we'll be doing it all over again - with the boys in tow!

120 · 18/05/2010 21:07

thanks moosey! amazed you can think about next year already! sorry to hear ds1 still unwell. Poor thing.

have to go to bed. night night.

120 · 18/05/2010 21:15

just had a random thread title idea based around 'Jan 2009 - these boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do and one of these days... '

chefswife · 18/05/2010 21:25

... 'these boots are going to go tearing off amongst the clothing racks at the department store and Mommy won't be able to catch me.'

Lenni · 18/05/2010 21:51

Chef - Ds has stopped mouthing now, it happened overnight with both my two. I think around 12-18 months is pretty normal. Although they both put the odd stupid thing in their mouths from time to time. Don't we all!!

Dog - Have fb'ed you.

HKZ - Can buy in Boots, are worth it. If you can wait until after the weekend and I can find them I'll happily post mine down to you as don't need them.

MissJ - just read your news about job, definitely sounds like the right decision if rotas didn't work out well. Good news too as I will definitely be down over summer so we can plan a meet up or two. Yay!

tinkhasaspringinherstep · 19/05/2010 11:07

morning

thread titles sound good

mm - poor ds1 - one of you always seem to be ill!!

bracken is 16 mtnhs old today she is growing up way too fast, she says this, bye bye, ball and points @ pics in books and is a greedy piggy wig!!

moosemama · 19/05/2010 12:33

Morning

More than one I'm afraid Tink. Its that flippin' school. There always seems to be something going around and with one in infants and one in juniors we can't seem to escape.

Ds2 told me he felt sick and didn't want his breakfast this morning. He looked ok though and we thought he was just wanting to stay home because ds1 is still off. Took his temp and it was fine, so made him eat up and sent him in.

Had a phonecall half and hour ago to say he had been sick, big-style in the middle of the classroom. [bad Mummy emoticon] So I have just had to drag ds1 and dd up the road to fetch him and now we truly are the house of plague - again.

On the positive side, he doesn't seem as bad as ds1 and the TA said he threw up then didn't stop talking till I arrived to fetch him so he obviously isn't feeling really poorly. Hopefully he will get a milder dose than ds1.

Just praying dd doesn't get it now. Although I suppose half ds2's class will catch it after being in such close proximity when he was sick.

Oh Dog, so sorry to hear you are still having such a stressful time. Hope you have a nice long relaxing bath and it helps your pelvis as well as your nerves. ((hugs))

PatTheHammer · 19/05/2010 20:18

Dog- That woman sounds horrendous, what a piece of work! At least you can have a nice bath as your bath is all fixed and stuff (still trying this thinking positive!)

Moose- poor DS2, hope the rest of you are ok.

Chef- garden sounds good. DD was a 'mouthy' baby but just totally stopped at about 18 months when they use their mouths more for talking I guess (or shouting in her case!). DS has never really done it much, weird innit!

120- How often are you going a week? I am doing twice and one swim a week. Should I be doing more? I am hoping to do race for life in July, will I be ready? I am doing a 10K midnight walk on 25th June (sponsors gratefully accepted)

Great news from my friend tonight, she was on her way home from the hospital with her DS!!!!!! So happy for her! And the best bit is that I can pop round and see the baby VERY soon, been itching to see him, will probably pop round on friday lunchtime, hurrah!

Meet-up went well yesterday afternoon. Two lovely ladies and Z really hit it off with a little girl. He does love the girls!

He is feeling much better on the AB's but still uncomfortable at nights so I am a complete mess. Think I need a week off, half term can't come quick enough!

Evening all. complete mess here too, but not sure why.

Pat, I'm running twice a week (will up to three if I can face it) and hoping to do two spins a week once I get my spin bike back home. It sounds like you are doing plenty of training. To be honest, I think that for 5k's you don't need to train, other than being able to comfortably walk the distance (will probably be shot for saying that, but it's my belief anyhoo). For 10k's twice a week is plenty, and especially if you are already doing a 5 miler at the weekends, you are practically running one every week! Would sponsor you, but blew my budget with HZ for her great ormand street run (they saved both me and my brother when we were little).

DOG, really sorry to hear about your landlady. It is worth keeping in their good books until you have that deposit though! We had to take one of our Australian landlords to court over the 'bond' he didn't repay us. My DP with-held his key until we got it .

120 · 19/05/2010 20:32

not quite sure why I hyphenated that.
