Good enough for ya dog .

And sorry I do realise some are only turning 14 mths and some are nearly 16mths etc,etc......apologies!

All officially toddlers now though i think (well 120's H and HKZ's J are pulling up/taking steps now I think, think mostly everyone walking of some sort!) Scary thought!

Afternoon all

Gosh what a lot of poorly little ones. Dd is also poorly, really snotty with a temp. But I am a mean Mummy who had a shopping day planned with my Mum, so dosed her up with a full dose of calpol, snuggled her into her buggy and went shopping. Fortunately she slept through most of it and woke just as we were in the cafe having a late lunch before collecting the boys.

Didn't really buy anything interesting. Treated myself to some Hotel Chocolat Salt Caramels in dark chocolate and bought a size 24, black, v-neck jumper that comes down to my knees for a fiver (its to keep me warm at the festival).

120, sorry you have a bad back. I have just ordered a nutrition poster and bib off you on ebay. I've really wanted one since I first saw them on your site and decided to treat myself to one to brighten up our kitchen.

HKZ, glad to hear you are resting in bed. Mnetting in bed on the laptop is a guilty pleasure to be enjoyed on sick-days and those times you desperately need to escape rl.

Tree, what a mare of a day! Hope dd is better soon. Congratulations on your Anniversary though. We are the same with dd refusing to go down to sleep at the moment and sleeping very badly when she is in her cot, so we get very little time together, especially as she is STILL in our room! We have resolved to sort out her bedtime routine and bedroom as our next task after we get back from the festival.

I went in the White Company shop today. I never go in there cos as soon as I cross the threshold I feel grubby and scruffy, but Mum wanted to. Could have spent about £500 in about 5 minutes!

Books, I have accidentally deleted your phone number. Meant to delete the one above it - doh!

Dog, am very jealous of your shopping. It sounds far more productive of lovely things than mine was. Although I did have a lovely day just being out of the house all the same so I won't complain.

Oh - and if we are going to go all Malory Towers, shouldn't we have lashings of ginger beer as well. Or is that the Famous Five? Although Ds1 is lapping up the Famous Five books at the moment (10 books in 2 weeks! ) and he assures me they drink orangeade a lot. (sp?)

PatTheHammer · 11/05/2010 19:35

What-ho, golly-gosh, crikey and a super-duper hallo to all my chums..........

LOVED Malory Towers, all those midnight feasts and high jinx

In 6th form we put on a production of 'Daisy pulls it Off' and that was jolly hockey-sticks ahoy too, great fun....

Anyhow, Z has just stopped maoning on after I put him down 40 mins ago (been in twice but seems to make him worse) so time to cook tea and chill out.

Be back shortly

P.s Moose, how very restrained of you in the white company, collect 10 house points immediately)

I've just realised I have no means of getting the kids to and from school tomorrow morning!

Moose - well done. I actually find it harder to buy anything in the shop, than I do to resist online! Dunno what strange psychology is going on there.

Maybe when I'm there I think 'yeah, but it's just a white sheet innit?' whereas online I really imagine I am buying the dream. In white, cream or stone.

Just welled up watching Gordon move out. Very clever man that, and completely crap with the media. Hence I liked him

moosemama · 11/05/2010 19:50

I know what you mean Tree, I reckon I would be happy if I could move into their website. Twasn't so hard to resist today though, as I am beyond brassic thanks to all the cold/wet weather purchases for this weekend.

Only just put the tv on. Hadn't realised he'd resigned.

Just sacrificed one of my posh choccies to dh, who promptly scoffed it straight down and said "Nothing special are they? Just tasted like a normal caramel chocolate to me." Heathen!

Is ds1 going to school tomorrow if she was sick today? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick again? Am very vague today. At our school if they've been sick for any reason, they have to stay off for 48 hours from the last time they vomited. (I get so frustrated with that particular rule when ds1 has a migraine.)

treedelivery · 11/05/2010 19:53

Oh good grief don't say that

Anywaaaayyyyy...it was just the once.....no runs or anything......just her breakfast.......

love her.....but you know....'m on a night tomorrow and I need some r&r tomorrow.

120 · 11/05/2010 20:10

evening all.

Thanks for your order Moosey. All packed and ready to go. Have put in an extra something to help brighten your kitchen. Hope you like the bib too; we absolutely swear by them and DD will still happily wear it at 3 (OMG she is 3 tomorrow. my little baby!)

Tree, love the 'it's just a white sheet'. I'm so like that... (sadly it means I'm absolute hell to go shopping with if you want to spend money!) There is an intermittent d&v thing going around East London too. Yuckity yuck.

This politics thing has got me all in a tiz as I think they all have good and bad points. Guess most people feel that which is why the parliament is well hung.

Remembered a good joke today. What did the Bra say to the hat? You go on ahead, and I'll pick up these two.

Time for some vino, methinks.

HZ, hope you are doing ok and that hubbie of yours is looking after you (all).

Can't really help with being a housemistress.. I only made it to bedroom head

moosemama · 11/05/2010 20:26

If it was just the once Tree, do you think it might have been anxiety related? With it being on the school run I just wondered if that could be at the root of it.

120, can't wait to receive it and am now intrigued to see what else you could have sent that will brighten my horrible kitchen up.

Happy birthday to your dd for tomorrow. I wish my boys were still 3, it seems a looong time ago that they were that little now - still, they'll always be my babies no matter how old/big they get.

Current joke in our house is very lame: "Knock knock. Who's there? Mikey. Mikey who? Mikey's stuck in the lock." See, told you it was lame, but the boys think its hilarious because Daddy taught it to them.

Dd's temperature has finally started to come down after both calpol and calprofen, but she's really not well. Poor little (vegetarian> sausage. She is now fighting sleep by beating hell out of her zebra having thrown everything else on the floor. Babies - no common sense.

I really need her to sleep now so I can eat my tea. (Dh is making fajitas.)

I think t might have been travel sickness Moose. I'll look in the school info and see if they want 24 or 48 hours.

Get well soon littleMoose.

moosemama · 11/05/2010 21:07

Ds1 gets intermittent travel sickness. Seems to depend on his mood/state of mind. Only thing that seems to help is sucking mints, but I think that it just gives him something to do other than think about feeling sick really. We have a really big bag of mints in the glove compartment of our car.

I've had travel sickness ever since I was first pregnant with dd and had the first of many sinus infections. My sinuses have never really settled down properly and now I find the motion of certain vehicles (especially my Mum's Astra Sport) makes me feel really nauseaus. I find its much worse of country lanes with lots of bends and adverse camber. I don't get it as badly in our Picasso or the veedub though and I think its because they are higher up so you don't feel the road as much.

Ok I'm rambling now aren't I? Ignore me please, I am way too tired and should be in bed.

Just managed to eat my fajitas, but he didn't buy sour cream, so although they were nice, they were also a tad disappointing.

treedelivery · 11/05/2010 21:12

Night night Moose. No sour cream. Crazy.

Just had mcrowave pasta. Oh well. Can't really face tomorrow, have to start walking at 8. Bleurgh.

moosemama · 11/05/2010 21:20

Tree, get a taxi its not like its an everyday occurrence and its got to be worth it rather than walking for an hour at that time in the morning. Call them now and get one booked ready to pick you up. Tell them you'll want him to wait while you drop her off and ask for fixed price.

Off to bed now. Night.

treedelivery · 11/05/2010 21:21

WOuld they let me take the car seats though Moose?

moosemama · 11/05/2010 21:32

Yes they would. I have had to use taxis a couple of times and they were happy for me to put my own car seats in.

Some companies have their own car seats in certain cars, but I'd rather not use them as you never know what condition they are in.

Best bet is to give them a call tonight and arrange it all in advance, making sure you get an agreed fixed price. Then if you want to, you can call them again first thing to confirm it all before the taxi arrives. It shouldn't cost too much if school isn't too far away.

As you can tell, I am still not in bed - and dd is still not asleep!

Bookmarking. Too to MN tonight. Grrr at DC PM, argh. Back soon :-)

treedelivery · 11/05/2010 22:00

Thanks Moose and books. That was great of the company to take them back to the depo books. I might ring. Or I might make DH suffer for getting work done on his precious and leaving me car less as he swans off in mine.

I mean really, couldn't it have waited till I was on nights next week and not doing the school run.

Sometimes it is hard not to take these things as a really big hint as to where I naturally occur in the pecking order. Which is after cars

He's settling H before starting on his GCSE science coursework that has to be handed in tomorrow. Not that he has planned that with his parents, he will be late picking the dc's up from their house. Naturally I am to organise this and apologise and feel an inch tall. Nice. If I leave hm to do it he will spring it on them and offer no apology.

Dunno what's more annoying, dh or dc

Ahhh, that feels better. Now off to read thread.

Lenni · 11/05/2010 22:24

Moose - is there news on DS1's gluten test? Have I missed it?

treedelivery · 11/05/2010 22:25

I think Moose is in bed lenni, but there has been no news that I have read. Hope there is soon though.
