Spring clean day today. Urgh. Freecycle and ebay galore.

Um, forgotten most of what I meant to say.

Frizbe - gonna send you a cheque. I typed in your bank details wrong and it bounced back

Strawberry not a well bunny. Hoping it is just a bug, but she has a suspiciously poxy looking spot too...

Actually mrm a zimmer frame might come in handy for the next few weeks .

Have made the cake for tomorrow, but I think I'd better test a slice tonight to make sure that it's ok, as I wouldn't want to serve you ladies anything sub-standard .

Have managed to clear off the bed in the library friz, so we should be ok without your airbed .

Do you know what time you're aiming for flamey?

EachPeachPearMum · 14/05/2010 22:21

Do you need anything else CSWS? sheets for moses basket?
sleeping bag? muslins etc? baby towels?

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/05/2010 22:27

Oh 0-6 month sleeping bags would be good if you have some. I gave mine away (or sold them for about 20p on ebay ).

Frizbe · 14/05/2010 22:43

Yay for bed CSWS I have somewhere to sleep how exciting!
Now I just have to make it down the M1 in my cronky car, fingers x'd I make it all the way, it's made it to Leeds and back tonight, but dh has just informed me there was a funny smell when he got back, I didn't notice anything when I took it to Sainsbo's? I'm sure it will be fine, fingers x'd.
Lots to tell you, but will do it in person tomorrow.

Jas · 15/05/2010 08:47

Morning all

I hope it all goes well this evening.

Frizbe - just how early are you planning on leaving csws' tomorrow? I am hoping to come over in the morning as I can't come tonight and I would hate to arrive ten minutes after you left!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/05/2010 19:57

She's not planning on leaving until 11-11:30 .

Phoenix · 15/05/2010 20:55

Hope you're all having fun

Friz - Thanks for the offer but i only just saw it and i would have had to have still brought Noah with me, i think, if i'd have been coming.

Jas · 16/05/2010 00:08

Thanks csws. I should def be there before that. Hope you are all having fun

Frizbe · 16/05/2010 20:40

Hi all, I'm back in one piece, car is still working! Thanks for a lovely weekend all and huge thanks to CSWS for her fab hospitality (as usual!)

Had lovely surprise visit from cousin and her family this afternoon, after I said I couldn't make it to them, because of taking ss back home, they decided to come up to us so I just got through the door and got a call a few mins later saying they'd decided to come and look at a car nearby and could they pop round so I got to see more babies!

SS is coming with us on hols we've all perused the school letter and have agreed it doesn't say anything about a fine on it, so we're risking it

Frizbe · 19/05/2010 22:07

woss 'appening then?

dd1 has tonsilits here, is ok though, drugged up and going to school like there's nothing wrong

Jas · 19/05/2010 22:54

Nothing happening here.

Had my parents hre today- mum is looking well despite no hair.

Sun has been shining, and childen have been bickering.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/05/2010 22:33

Ello. Been to baby show today. Bought some 'lollipop' nappies - a starter set with several diff types in. A couple will fit ds, and the rest will be for new baby. Cost £49 instead of the usual £100 or so, and I can claim £50 back from council nappy scheme, so effectively cost nothing - hurrah!

Not a lot else to report.

mustrunmore · 22/05/2010 08:18

Oooo, did you get lots of freebies too? Btw, When I resold ds2's nappies, I got back almost the total cost I'd paid Flame and subsequently got back from the council You reckon the £50 I made covered the cost of soapnuts and liners?!

Going to the park with footballs and tennis rckets and food today; nice and easy. In theory!

Btw csws, a friend came over end ogf last week, had never seen our bedroom... she was in raptures over the chest of drawers you gave us

Frizbe · 24/05/2010 23:19

Boo!

Glad your mum is doing well Jas

CSWS great bargins!

Spent the weekend dressed as a Geisha here, oh and dealing with hot and bothered kids in a tent, if dd1 screams at one more fly/spider, I'm taking her to the Dr's, talk about unreal fear pondering treatment of sending her to the jungle for some challanges with Ant n Dec.....

Phoenix · 25/05/2010 09:13

Greetings from Cornwall

Friz - a spider/fly scream seems perfectly normal to me. I could cope with that no probs but Lewis has got a fear of every single animal there is I think. On the beach on Sunday a dog went near him (a little spaniel) he screamed, panicked, fell over in the sea and then panicked more cos it was cold. Yesterday we tried to get him to bottle feed some lambs with the other kids and he screamed every time one of the tiny lambs came near him "aaaargh I don't like them, let me out" they only wanted their milk but you'd have thought from his reaction they were trying to eat him. He wouldn't even go in the room to look at the baby rabbits and guinea pigs and they were behind a wall. He's getting worse but we're going to keep taking him places to hopefully get used to things. I'm not sure if it was a good or a bad idea to re home our dog when we did.

Frizbe · 26/05/2010 22:32

Hi Phoenix! hope you're having a lovely hols
I'm sure he'll grow out of it soon, do you think it would help you to get another pet at home again? dd1 is nearly 7, she has no excuse! and she does 'forest school' as well, where they have to go to the loo in the wee bucket and everything, you can't tell me she has a fit then (school have reported nothing) she's just playing up for us gah! 'facepalm'

5 sleeps till hols here

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/05/2010 19:45

dd is rubbish with insects and very selective about which animals she'll go near too.

Baby still breech here - grr.

mustrunmore · 29/05/2010 10:28

Did I miss the bit whetre otold me it was breech? oops.

Phoenix · 29/05/2010 20:52

Home from hols, had a great time

Enjoy your hols Friz

for breech baby csws. When are you due?

csws - I've just been looking at Court Farm Cottages. It sounds very similar to Bosinver where we've been the last 3yrs and is a high contender for next years holiday. Which cottage did you stay in and did you like it? Is there plenty to do round about?

Hi to Flame, mrm, Jas, Eppm

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2010 09:45

We stayed in Shippen (would have booked Mill House to get the bathroom on the same floor as me, but it got booked by someone else on the same day that we were booking!). It was great because there were lots of other children in the courtyard cottages and it was safe enough for us to let dd go off and play in the playground bit with them and without us, which I can't imagine doing in many places.
Lots to do nearby - beaches of course, and the Milky Way which dd loved, and the Big Sheep which lots of people recommended but we didn't actually make it to, an otter sanctuary with masses of otters, and loads more. Did you see the pics I put on fb at the time (April) - none of Court Farm itself, but plenty of some of the places we visited.
And the on-site masseur was bloody brilliant!

Phoenix · 30/05/2010 14:40

Mill House is the one I like. Does it feel weird with the bedrooms been downstairs and the lounge upstairs in Shippen? Yes i saw your photos and had another nose through them earlier. MilkyWay looks great and the otter place looks good too. We've been to the same area of Cornwall for the last 5 year and just about exhausted everything so we're gonna try somewhere new. The big tv's are swinging it for dh

Frizbe · 30/05/2010 22:30

Thanks girls, we're all set to go

Glad you had a good hols Phoenix

CSWS's baby, get the right way round will you, 'wags finger at bump'

here, saw my friend this am for only 2nd time since Xmas have both been too busy and she produced a scan photo and announced she's 16 weeks pregnant very happy for her/her dh.

We did the Big Sheep a few years back, was a nice day out though dd1 was only 9mths! ss enjoyed it. Also did the otter sanctuary and enjoyed that loads too Nice part of the world North Devon, Saunton Sands is very good for older kids, surfing etc too.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/06/2010 19:26

Baby has turned btw in case you guys didn't see on fb .

Phoenix · 05/06/2010 23:38

Yay for turning baby

Is everyone else ok? MRM, Jas, Flame, EPPM?

Hope you're having a good time Friz

All ok-ish here. Dh got a job but he hates it . He's always said he was willing to do anything. He saw an old friend just after he finished at his old job and he made his job sound great even though it was agency. He rang one day, got an interview the same day and half an hour later they rang to see if he could start the next night. It's for a company who provide food/load lorries for M&S but he is working for an agency who are based on site and are not like most agencies that set you on one week and finish you the next, dh has even said there is some there that have worked for this agency for over 10yr. He really hates it and is so miserable. He's working nights but the worst thing about it is he will only be working when they need him. He started Thurs night, they wanted him last night and then they said they will ring tomorrow if they need him or if not he has to ring Monday. We really need him to have regular hours and a regular wage so he is on the lookout for somewhere else asap. He's also worrying about money (or lack of) so he's working nights and then not sleeping well cos of all the crap flying round his head which is making him miserable. I do feel sorry for him cos he's only ever worked for the same company since he left school, he's had new jobs within the company but always been there. After 25yrs in the same job i know it must be hard starting somewhere new.

mustrunmore · 08/06/2010 10:02

Argh for MrPhoenix; I remember so well what its like to be in a job you hate . Something will come along sooner or later tho, I'm sure.

Well, i'm here, still alive, doing a few odds and ends of 'jobs' and ebaying. Did a charity run on Sunday but was shit due to no training, but at least I did it. Got more atttooo added to the lower back one. ds1 was in hospital a day over half term. All ok now. Thats it really.
