Fi, love the boots. I want a pair now!
jael, thanks for your thoughts. at J slurping spaghetti - all 3 of my girls love 'pasketti' (can't pronounce it easily).

flippin, like the sound of your boots - are they comfy? I need acomfy pair of boots. my favourite boots are cowboy ones but they're uncomfortable so can't tolerate anymore. but, man, were they cool. oh, how old is your dd1 again? bless her for the walking.

belgina, get some sleep!
I'm off now. good night all.

pulapancake · 19/02/2010 22:53

Well S woke early tonight (10.10pm) so he's been fed and we will see what happens tonight.

Jael- I missed the bit about J slurping noodles - very clever and cute .

Oh, and just have to share that S is really developing into a little person. Now he can crawl, he obviously makes a beeline for things he shouldn't play with (fireguards, doors, cables, toys that DD/DS1 are playing with), but now if he knows I want him for something especially where he needs to be pinned down (e.g. nappy change or getting undressed for the bath), when I call him, he looks at me, smiles, and does an about turn and crawls away at top speed. Cheeky monkey . And he loves making kissy sounds and waving, and now realises he can do either to get some attention from people rather than just responding to us.

youngerthanspringtime · 19/02/2010 22:56

PUla, doe DD/DS1 hate when S plays with their toys? my dd1&2 can't stand when H plays with their stuff and they snatch it away roughly.

pulapancake · 19/02/2010 23:09

younger- yes they hate it and can be very rough, pushing him away or snatching toys out of his hands, which I am trying to get them not to do. I suggest they find something else for him to play with instead and he will swap, but they often choose things which aren't as interesting as they are in such a panic to get their toys back so it doesn't work

Jael · 19/02/2010 23:09

Pula S sounds so cute. I can't wait to meet him! He sounds likes he's coming along really well At Christmastime we brought a table down for DD to have her Puppy In My Pocket House on and all her Puppy's, so they wern't scattered all over the lounge floor, and can easily be packed away. However now J can pull himself up etc were abit of what to do, on a daily basis I find him with a puppy in his hand/mouth! I'm sure you must have similiar incidents in your house with an older DD?

Right I'm off to bed, were taking our third baby (the dog) lol to be groomed tomorrow, it's about time too, she looks so overgrown! She hasn't been done for 4+ months

Not much else planned for tomorrow, so far, DP mentioned going to look at woodstain for DD's playhouse! How exciting (yawns) I hope he comes up with something more hmmm interesting, I've had abit of a tiring week with the DC by myself, could do with doing something fun tomorrow, heres hoping eh, night all XX

flippinegg · 20/02/2010 09:14

Morning!

We have the problems with DD1 being a bit rough when A's got something she (DD1) wants.

jael - noodles are cute! Spaghetti is known as 'sketty pasta' in our house, and all other kinds of pasta are called 'pasta pasta'! Well, that's according to DD1, and it's kind of stuck.

younger - DD1 is 3 at the end of March. She was a late walker and until fairly recently hasn't managed huge distances but all of a sudden has got pretty good!

My boots are lovely and comfortable, but perhaps a bit too warm at times. They don't have them any more, but they are a kind of cross between these and
these but this colour!

Nothing planned here today. Hope everyone has good weekends!

flippinegg · 20/02/2010 09:17

Forgot to say last night, llareggub - well done on the 4k! That's great. Do you run outside as well as at the gym?

And oven cleaning? . .

belgina · 20/02/2010 09:41

Morning all.

Feeling soooo much better today. I had a decent sleep last night. I went to bed early and didn't give C a dream feed. She woke at midnight, so I'd say she still needs that dream feed. I suppose there's a lot of baby that needs to be fed, so she might be in need of a tad more food than some

jael So sweet, your ds slurping the noodles

pula @ S 'running' away when he needs to have his bum changed.

My 2 arent rough when removing toys, but do intervene quite quickly. They're especially worried about books being destroyed, but ds is also aware of the dangers of lego C gets angry of course when her treasure gets taken away.

No plans here today, except for having a look at the dcs home work and using up some of the old bananas by making banana bread (yum)

Ooh! Has anyone else spotted the new function on MN for your status?
You go into MyMumsnet and under registration, you can type a status. It then appears if you hover the cursor by your name.
(Try it by hovering on my name at the top of this post!)

Belgina - glad you are feeling better today

Pula - O does that cheeky grin as if to say "you can't catch me!" If I carry him upstairs to change his nappy he sometimes starts crying as he knows what's coming and he doesn't like it!

younger - I wore v scruffy flat tan leather boots. I went for comfort with walking with O on my back!

flippin - that must have been interesting for the 3 of you in the toilet cubicle! Better than an accident for DD1 though!

running - v impressive nappy changing from you! Glad we didn't have to do that!

O is currently asleep having been sick earlier. I think it was just mucous from the dregs of his cold that's hung about. (Febes - probably a bit like R yesterday. Hope he's better now?) There was sick all over O and all over me and then he was sick again on his clean outfit, bless him. Hopefully the sleep will have helped.
Oh and with that I can hear him waking....
Catch you all later!

febes · 20/02/2010 18:05

Ses R seems much happier in himself today. He had another mucus vom when we got home and was really unhappy but then slept from 6pm until 4.30 had a quick feed and then woke at 7. Hope O feels better soon. Thanks so much again for being my travelling buddy yesterday. It made the whole experience way more fun and less stressful.

Belgian I have been dreaming about your beautiful maitai sling. I might have to look for one . Your DCs are so lovely- please thank your DS for entertaining A so well not many 8yo(?) boys would be so kind to a 2yo.

Dandy Your DD is such a credit to you. How did the sleep over go?

Jael I had to at your DP getting woodstain. We spend most our 'family' days out at b and q buying paint or other boring stuff for the house. We know how to have a good time!!

Have to good for bath time. I'll be back

febes · 20/02/2010 18:07

Ermmm That should be go for bath time

Jael · 20/02/2010 20:50

Quiet tonight...Everyone must be having a very fun night doing something else other than MN'ing haha

What a day here, Im shattered and I've done nothing lol
DP was an angel this morning and got up with the DC at 8 and let me lay in till 10am!
We then took the dog to be groomed, and she looks so pretty again
And then it was DP's great idea to go to IKEA as he needed some things, so loff we toodled...it wasn't so bad, we managed to get DD in to play so we just had J round the shop with us, and he sat in the trolley eating a chicken salad sandwich
We ate out somewhere on the way home too, to save cooking tonight

I've officially started my diet again from today. I still have more weight to lose until the big day

DD and I had a very embarrassing moment while out at dinner, mainly due to DD, but I think the conversation requires a as it is very and cannot be posted on MN lol!!!

Have a nice evening everyone XX

belgina · 20/02/2010 21:01

febes Thank you... You've made me become all emotional with your comment about my DS. He really is the most wonderful 8yo boy in the world. Remember that he used to do my vacuuming etc... while I was preg and couldn't lift things? Now you've seen him in action, you can see it, can't you?

jael Good luck with the diet

ses Hope O gets better soon.

We just had a stay at home houseworky day. I managed to dry some nappies outside too, 1st time this year, because the weather was so gorgeous. I also managed to get C to nap in her cot It only took 1h for her to go to sleep, but hey ho, she did it. She seems to get distracted in her cot, didn't really cry that much, because I stayed with her. Hopefully she'll get used to the idea quickly enough and she'll stop playing and start sleeping

Off to do some expressing to try C with a bottle for her dream feed again. It's been a while, so really necessary to have another go. With an ap here now, I think I'm going to have to go to the bedroom to do it.

FiByTheIcySea · 20/02/2010 21:42

hellooo

busy day here too..

belgina i echo febes re your ds. In fact all the older dc's were wonderful... next time i may brave bringing ds! I don't think i'd be comfortable expressing in front of the ap either.

Sorry to hear the snot/vom goblin is still visiting a few lo's I hope they're better tomorrow.

ses i saw your post re mn's new feature while on my phone... i couldn't see what you meant until i got the laptop out... i've just got to figure out what to put on mine now ;)

DS was in bed fast asleep before G & I got home yesterday... in fact he'd fallen asleep mid afternoon and dh ended up waking him (well tying to), putting him in his pj's & then popping him straight to bed . Because he'd had no dinner he woke at mid night.. then after some milk and a biscuit he eventually went back to sleep until 6.30am this am... I think he's a bit off colour though as he's not had his usual appetite, has mentioned today his tummy is a bit sore & sleeping yesterday afternoon is highly unusual...

Well i braved the snowy weather on thursday to spend our nectar points on a wii... DH wasn't remotely interested in the idea but went along with it because i fancied playing on it with ds. Since he got home from work on thursday it's been hard to get him off it lol! We got a few extras from it this afternoon including the madden 2010 american football game.... i think i'll have plenty of time to mn for the foreseeable future... i'm going to be a madden widow

jael pula shugborough hall/farm looks fantastic... i googled to see where it was and it's not possible for me to join you 2. i discovered there is a direct train to stafford on the way up but not on the way back. changing trains i can cope with... but the ticket cost was dreadful and it would take 2hrs 30 mins (each way) to drive up/down the motorway & i would find doing 5hrs of driving in one day a real killer.

wrt G's furry boots as seen at our meet ups this week... daisy roots do still make them

Jael · 20/02/2010 22:02

Fi You're in WSM aren't you? This is going to sound but you're way far from me aren't you? As much as I'd love to meet you, I couldn't expect you to drive all that way! Me and DP drove to WSM when DD was 8 months old, it makes me feel a little thinking about it, because she was my baby then. That was her first holiday, and we had an ace time there!
I'm sorry to here about your LO feeling unwell, hope he feels better soon X

FiByTheIcySea · 20/02/2010 22:09

Yes jael i'm in w-s-m. according to google map directions it would take 2hrs 30m to get to shugborough hall... are you much further away from there?

belgina · 20/02/2010 22:10

fi Why, oh, why did you have to post that 'daisyroots' link. I want all of them for C now . Dd1 had some little daisyroots, with fabric butterflies on them. They were gorgeous.

Dandy- gosh what a night .

DD has only ever had one friend to stay over, a couple of months back, and I was getting when they were still awake at 8.30. Can't remember what i said to them, but they gave in to sleep after my 8.30 trip up the stairs to them . Think they woke at 6 or 6.30 but there might have been some other wakings, but at least they didn't come in to us.

essenceofSES · 20/02/2010 22:48

Dandy - that must have been v frustrating to put it mildly! It's tough when it's your own DC that won't sleep but I'm sure I wouldn't be anywhere near as patient with someone else's DC. Then again, I'd probably do what it sounds you did and try to make the most of a bad situation and suffer afterwards.

Fi - hope your DS is more himself tomorrow

Jael - I'm intrigued by your conversation with DD that is !!

Belgina - well done for getting C to nap in her cot. I'm sure it's worth being persistent and she'll get the idea v soon.

O was sick once more at tea time but again it was as he was coughing so I'm sure that's the problem. He didn't seem to care and lifted his vom filled bib to play peek-a-boo before I had chance to clean him up properly

Right, must head off to bed. G'night!

Dandy OMG what a night!! I would have lost it completely. You have the external patience of a saint . DD will be very thrilled to be a named sheep toy. Some of her best friends are soft toys .

R is much better and now can feed again without having to unlatch to breathe. My boobs were getting quite uncomfortable the past few days as he couldn't feed properly. He did vom his feed all over me before bed last night but slept ok just waking at 11 and 4 for feeds. Hopefully once he's better his sleep will improve again.

DD has been waking at 6.30am for the past 3 or 4 days. I think it must be getting light a bit earlier.

Fi I hope your DS is ok today. Thanks for the link to Gs boots they are so cute!

HeadlessLadyH · 21/02/2010 14:10

Hello all.

younger glad you have had the all clear. What a relief that must be.

dandy blimey, what a night. I think I would have been crying tears of frustration by 10, let alone midnight.

We've had a couple of sleep overs for DS1 and although he and his guests have been giddy with excitement and gone to bed later, they have usually conked out by nine. However, early rising is almost inevitable too.

Hope you have a good lunch today.

ses and febes hope O and R on the mend now. My R improved dramatically after he had his snot sick (delightful phrase, sorry!) last week. It must be their way of getting rid of it.

My friend has just departed. It looked like she may have had to stay another night as we woke up to 3 inches of snow and it was still falling at 8am. But its now 2pm and pretty much all gone . We had a lovely weekend, depsite her one year old having D & V and being understandably clingy every time my friend left the room.

Apparantly we are all going swimming now. I can't really be bothered TBH. I just want to watch the Olympics from my sofa.

Reggiee · 21/02/2010 19:43
