Ooo ladies - hope you have a have a great meet up!! I am ! It's ds1's bday today. He wanted to go to soft play - he enjoyed it, I didn't. There were sooo many people there!

Pula hope you had a better night last night. I'm going to have to tackle ds2's sleep at some point. The problem is he keeps moving round the cot and ends up headbutting the end of the cot

Spring Sorry to hear you're not sleeping well. Hope your appt goes well.

Ovens I'm another one who doesn't clean my oven I've been contemplating getting someone in to do it

Fi Cheltenham sounds good to me. I think G taught ds2 how to blow raspberries. He hasn't stopped blowing them since we met

Febes and anyone else who's feeling ill. I hope you feel better soon.

Well best go tidy the house for tomorrows party!

FiByTheIcySea · 19/02/2010 15:33

muddled ikwym about soft play places. happy birthday to ds1 and about raspberries my F taught G a while ago and they both think it's hysterical

SinginHinny · 19/02/2010 16:11

Younger is fresh-faced, youthful, beautiful, slender and has lovely, lovely children (her poor DD got bullied into playing by my brutish DD2 ). It's always lovely to see her and it was especially lovely to meet another of her DCs.

I hope you all enjoyed your meet-up . I am going to be travelling to see my dad in April - he's in the Cotswolds, Malmesbury way. Who lives down in that there area? Anyone? Anyone? I'd love to combine a visit to Papa with a MN meet if poss.

I hope everyone is ok - I had 4 cocktails last night (DH and I went out 'cos it was our anniversary) and they were really nice. I had a mojito mmmmmmm. We stayed in a hotel and everything. It was the first full night of sleep I've had in months and months. Bliss.......

SinginHinny · 19/02/2010 16:12

Best remind you all, 'tis Grumpy in disguise, just in case you've forgotten (I haven't posted for a while).

I can hear DD1 and 2 arguing upstairs

llareggub · 19/02/2010 16:16

Singing, Malmesbury is very easy to get to from here. It is pretty much a straight run. It isn't far from Cirencester either!

SinginHinny · 19/02/2010 16:18

Oooh a potential meet-up on the cards (yay!). It'll be easter time, school holidays are first couple of weeks of April I think, I'll have to get some definite dates and put a thingydoobrie on fb.

FiByTheIcySea · 19/02/2010 16:37

cotswolds i don't think that's much further away from Cheltenham? i'm sure i could manage it.. i was looking at a place to take ds the other night and i think it was in the cotswolds? it is a farm that has rare breeds of sheep cows chickens etc with a petting section yadayada. will hunt out the link later when home. easter good time too..

pulapancake · 19/02/2010 16:39

Afternoon ladies

Glad to hear you had a nice meet up Fi- look forward to viewing the photos on FB. Shame there were no shoe photos .

I wrote a long post this morning, only for S to bash the keyboard and delete it just as i was about to send it .

younger- hope your appointment goes OK and that you don't have to wait too long for results.

belgina- i hope your AP will do as you wish and lay down with C as she goes to sleep- I always stay with S when he falls asleep for naps and i don't think it's that unusual. Also at nursery, they stay with the LOs as they sleep, and pat/cuddle as required. Try not to worry though- S was a bit uncertain of nursery at first, but has quickly got to know what it's all about, and I'm sure C will soon know your AP, and it will help that she is in familiar surroundings.

jael- did i read yesterday that J is walking? . As for uploading videos on FB, its pretty straightforward once they are on your laptop/computer. Just keep them short as it takes a long while, for example a 30 second video could take 20 mins (although it can be done in the background).

My HV phoned back just now and i had good progress to report to her . She is on leave for 2 weeks but will do Ss developmental review in mid-march when she is back. Last night S woke at 4am, and took an hour to settle (no feed), and then slept until maybe 7.45 . DH went upstairs as he thought DD was up, and heard S moving around in his cot- this was a surprise as S usually wakes crying, so it is another sign he is happier in his cot on his own .

We went to soft play this morning. DCs all had a nice time- poor DH has a bad ear infection, but was very good to come with us as it can't have been pleasant for him- he said it was like being in a noisy swimming pool changing room- all echoey.

pulapancake · 19/02/2010 16:48

Singin- glad you had a nice night away with DH to celebrate your anniversary . I would love to meet you in York sometime - Mondays are my day off, if that is any good for you (and Momi and reggiee too of course )

FiByTheIcySea · 19/02/2010 16:48

my bf in weston is having her baby #4 today by cs.. not heard anything yet.. i'm desperate to know it's gone well and if she's had a pink or blue one!

essenceofSES · 19/02/2010 17:55

Fantastic meet up
Rest assured everyone else that the 8 mums & babies (and other DC!) were definitely not imaginary but v real and v lovely
Dandy - ideal place to meet so thank you!

Fi - how exciting about your bf! Hope you get some lovely news soon!

essenceofSES · 19/02/2010 18:00

Pula - that's amazing progress on the sleep front! Well done both you and S

Singin - night away, cocktails and a full nights sleep! Sounds brilliant!

Sorry for bitty posts. Posting on phone whilst O munches on a sausage & banana combo!

essenceofSES · 19/02/2010 18:04

younger - hope your appointment has gone well.

muddled - I've also pondered getting the professionals in to clean my oven!

runningmonkey · 19/02/2010 18:26

Quickly grabbing some MN time while A is in the bath (DH in charge, I'm not that neglectful )

pula fab news on the sleep front. Well done Hope your DH recovers soon.

singing your night out sounds fab. I am particularly of the full night's sleep

fi was wondering if you'd had any news on the way home. Hope all is well.

younger hope you are ok

headless hope you feel better soon.

muddled happy birthday to your DS

oven cleaning. I am not going to tell you how long it is since I've done mine I have also considered getting the professionals in. My friend has done it and raved about them.

I am totally exhausted after our adventure to the big smoke today. It was fab to see so many people although obviously we missed all you lovely ladies who couldn't make it. I remembered my camera but didn't remember to get it out of my bag . I can confirm there was a lot of good footwear on show however The journey home was interesting as it (sorry tmi coming up) involved changing a nappy in a train toilet cubicle. Not to be recommended, although A's 'I'm doing a poo' face highly amused the little girls sitting opposite us

Right bottle-making duty awaits. Have a lovely weekend all x

llareggub · 19/02/2010 19:46

Good to hear that you all enjoyed yourselves today. I thought of you all while I sang along to Postman bloody Pat.

Postman Pat Live was quite good but went on waaaaaaay too long.

I'm absolutely on top of the world this evening. I went to the gym and ran 4k! I have never, ever run so far and I felt FANTASTIC afterwards. I even managed some tummy crunches afterwards.

Cotswolds: How about meeting at Bourton on the Water? I've never been but it is supposed to be lovely. Oh, and it seems there are penguins too.

HeadlessLadyH · 19/02/2010 19:52

Glad to hear the meet up went well.

Depsite the heavy cold am off out tonight (wearing the Heat dress) with my pal who is staying with us and another friend. We have known each other for 21 years and I can't remember the last time the 3 of us had a night out together on our own! One of the bairns has been a bit poorly today (my pals 1 year old) so it could put a small dampner on the cocktail drinking but it will be good to have a natter.

In fact, other frien just arrived so better go and crack open the vino blanco.....

Have pleasant evenings all.

xx

FiByTheIcySea · 19/02/2010 20:15

llare wow i'm worn out just reading about your 4k.. amazing you're going to be so fit we'll all be but thoroughly deserved with all your hard work.. i'm way too lazy and huge nork impared to do anything except yoga or pilates! penguins sound good!
headless have a great night out!
runningm i didn't venture into the train toilet.. the seat next to me was free so i pinned G in place while changing her.. just wee though or i'd have had to brave the loo!
my bf cs got bumped until mon due to too many emergency ones.. so fingers crossed for then. she's back home atm so at least she didn't have to stay in eating hospital food till then.

youngerthanspringtime · 19/02/2010 20:57

Hi all. Sounds like the meet up went well and really wish I could've been there. since there are no shoe photos, please could you post here which shoes you wore to this meeting (ie describe them)? i'm just pathetic curious.

llare, thinking of you singing 'Postman bloody Pat'... hope it was fun.

fi, exciting about your bF. hope she isn't too disappointed about being bumped.

Belgina, you still awake? hope you get a better sleep tonight.

ladyH, hope you have a fun night and bet you look fab.

running, at 'im doing a poo' face, but Ikwym! Can't imagine doing a nappy change in a train loo though - must be especially skillful (and brave as Fi said)

ses, sausage and banana combo ?

pula, I'm so glad sleeping is going ok for you. glad you had a good time at soft play. my DD's love soft play and I love watching them love it .

appt went fine, thank you all for asking. I'd spoken to my sister and my mum got up extra early to call me for support (i miss my mum and siblings ). test wasn't as bad as i thought and got all clear for this , no need for biopsy. now, just need to have a colonoscopy (blech) but I feel better about this after going through the assessment today with successful outcome. phew.

so tonight just relaxing in front of the fire, watching olympics, glass of wine, quite happy. hope everyone is well tonight.

flippinegg · 19/02/2010 21:08

Evening all!

younger - glad your appt was good. Enjoy your wine!

llareggub - sorro to hear PP was too long!

Well, we had a lovely day! Thank you all. It was great to meet so many 'pretend' friends, and gorgeous babies and children. The girls were both shattered this evening, DD1 had walked miles, what with all those toilet trips! She's not that bad at home, it's only when we go out and spend any length of time in one place...I think she's scared of wetting herself.

Luckily I didn't have to change a nappy on the train, but I did have to take DD1 for a wee - picture me crouching in the cubicle, with A in the sling, holding DD1 over the toilet trying desperately not to touch any surfaces with anything belonging to any of us!

flippinegg · 19/02/2010 21:14

llareggub - sorro? Sorry of course! I've had some vino too .

younger - my shoes weren't very interesting really. Slightly scruffy pale beige suede boots, sort of slightly Uggish style but actually Clarks in the sale a few years ago. I think I will actually cry when they become unwearable, I love them very very much. I don't tuck my jeans in though, I wear boot cut jeans, so they go over. Is that enough information?!

belgina · 19/02/2010 21:15

Evening all,

Just popping in before bed. I had a lovely day today meeting all my imaginary friends. Funny how no one looks like their f/b pic (exept for ses). I'm exhausted now after all that + lack of sleep. C was exhausted too. She nearly did another screaming session on the train back, after having a I'm tired screaming session on the way up, but luckily I managed to keep her entertained for a bit. Funnily enough I remembered the shoe fotos as I walked onto the platform on the way back. The ap must have thought I was mad, when I suddenly exclaimed: "Oh no, I forgot to take a pic of our shoes!

younger glad to hear your appt went well and that you've got the all clear. It must be an enormous relief for you. You thoroughly deserve that glass of wine

headless Hope you're having fun

running Lol at the poo story.

llare Well done on the running! I can't run to the end of my road, let alone 4K.

C was quite funny tonight. She firstly had her 1st fish (cake) and chips and LOVED it. She gobled up half a big fish cake in no time + quite a few chips. Her full tummy must have made her in a good mood, because after she just kept laughing and laughing whenever she saw dd1. For no good reason either, just because she saw her

Off to have a cup of tea now, read a little and then in bed and asleep by no later than 10. Night everyone

x-post flippin Your boots sound like my falling apart ones. They are really comfy

Jael · 19/02/2010 21:25

Evening all.

Glad you all had fun at your meet-up

Running I've only done hour train journeys with J to bham and thankfully he's never needed changing in their toilets. DD has quite hight standards of cleanliness, I wonder where she got that from and will 99% of the time refuse to use a train toilet, I have had to make her though whilst on a train journey to London to GP's...

Momino I'm very that your apt went well today, I've been thinking about you today...

Well it seems like I havn't really done much today DD had a playdate arranged at the local pool, which is 2 miles away. So we walked there, in the snow DD and her friend had tons of fun in the pool and J absolutely loves the water! And then we walked back again...DP cooked a yummy stir fry tonight, which J ate tons of, I was and weve just noticed the cutest thing that he does, he sucks his noodles up, you know how people eat spaghetti, it is so SUPER cute!

So I have done NO cleaning today I have done 2 loads of washing though

Right I'm off to pour a glass of wine and watch Lost

Jael X

FiByTheIcySea · 19/02/2010 21:55

in bed.. suddenly v tired.. quick post for younger i wore my new for xmas boots.. the calf length ones of these not that anyone would have known as i also had my boot cut scruffy jeans on.. but i did wear one of my new tops.. the purple apple bottom one so i didn't feel like a complete scruff bag!
right.. sleep for me.. night night x

pulapancake · 19/02/2010 22:03

Evening ladies,

Jael and I have been "chatting" on FB and are thinking of meeting up at Shugborough Hall/Farm and if any midlanders fancy joining us, I am about to set up a discussion on the secret FB group . Looks like it's not fully open until mid-March, so we just need to choose a date that suits those who want to go. Ooh I'm all excited .

younger- glad your appointment was positive (phew).
