120,

Noooooooooo! Those biscuits sound gorgeous. I am a huge apricot fan, love the taste and that they are full of iron.

My resolve is wearing thin on the brownies front to be honest. I've been telling myself that I can't possibly get out and exercise this week AND of course I NEED comfort food when I'm ill AND we're off to a party at the weekend where it would be rude not to indulge AND I have promised to bring along two gf/vegan chocolate fudge cakes, so I will have to do some baking anyway.

Perhaps I should forget this week and start again next Monday. (Problem is, I seem to say that every week )

hackneyzoo · 16/03/2010 13:30

Oh Moose that's great news. Is sounds like the school are on the case and have tons of positive things to say about DS. I'm really glad everything is moving on in a positive way. I used to be the same with neck lines...but wierdly I must be the only person in the world who has gone from having humoungous boobs pre-baby, to having small ones post-baby I never thought I'd say this but I would seriously like a boob job...just to reinstate them to a higher place on my chest....not too enlarge them (well not much )

120 Post your cookie recipe on here, I always follow th eone by Penguin and they are fab...butfell a little bitof a biscuit bake coming on when I get home from work.

MissJ..would love to meet up, will you be about over that weekend as it is Lily's birthday and we willbe having a picnic party hopefully, so you guys should come...Unfortunately am back to working full time now, so no time off in the week for me.

Tink, hope singing was good.

Its a really beautiful day here in Greenwich, am looking out over lovely views of south London bathed in sunshine for once Just a shame that I have a horrible year 11 class to teach after lunch, oh well.

I've just bought this. Am very excited as can now make interesting wrapping paper / labels / tea towels... etc

120 · 16/03/2010 15:13

HZ hope your class behaved. I'm sitting in a nice, quiet office, with the babble of sales talk and the chortling by the water cooler. ahhh. peace. sick babies firmly at home, one with my mum and the other with DP.

moosemama · 16/03/2010 16:02

No fair, I wanna to escape too!

I'm sat in my living room with three poorly children, two of whom are complaining (loudly) because I have said no cartoons of any description while they are off sick.

I thought I was being clever, but alas no, they managed to bypass the rule and watch Beat the Boss followed by flippin Nuzzle and Scratch instead. My suggestions were Primary Science and Animal Park.

I have also suggested they might like to do last week's homework now they are feeling a bit better as they will need to hand it in when they go back. Well you can imagine what response that suggestion got!

Aaargh, I neeeed them to go back to school now.

moosemama · 16/03/2010 16:54

Just saw a link to the Cotswold Farm Park and Camping site in active convos. www.cotswoldfarmpark.co.uk/camping-pricing.php?id=pricing

Thought it sounds like it might be a great place for a late spring or summer camp/meet up.

teaandcakeplease · 16/03/2010 17:24

Ooo that looks nice, I like camping, although I have a big tent.

Cheaper than what I've been dreaming about for 2 days: www.thomsonalfresco.co.uk/june-deals-and-offers

teaandcakeplease · 16/03/2010 17:41

Mind you what I'm dreaming about isn't technically a meet up, it's a selfish longing to see some sun

tinkstoddleriswalking · 16/03/2010 18:09

120 - looks good

mm - bet u wish they were @ school it is horrid when they are all in the house coped up

tinkstoddleriswalking · 16/03/2010 18:11

hkz - can relate to small boobies i was a b before bracken now an a hardly anything there didnt breastfeed either!!

i am a chocoholic could never stop eating it i dont drink tea or coffee or smole or drink

120 · 16/03/2010 19:08

tink, am very admiring of someone who can cope with babies and not drink. I guess that's where the chocolate comes in!

PatTheHammer · 16/03/2010 19:13

Back shortly to catch up, must put this child to bed!

MissJ- I am deffo on for the 1st!

Moose- Yay for camping in cotswolds, everyone should come and do it!

On a similar vein, HKZ are you around in July??? I have a sneaky favour/ suggestion to put to you about a certain weekend (can't remember exact one but I think its the first weekend) when we have a wedding in London (and no......don't worry, its not can you babysit the two DC's ).
Congrats on the job btw!

hackneyzoo · 16/03/2010 19:25

Ohhh...come and stay Pat! How exciting! I might even be away on the Saturday as it's my dad's birthday....so you could stay at Hotel hackney!

120...the class were awful, I knew they would be, they are all EBD, lots of deep breaths and counting to ten. J and L were not in good moods when I got home either, so am sat on sofa with a glass of wine, curry just ordered, looking through knitting patterns t decide on my next project.

Moose...would be well up for some camping if it is in holiday time...do you take your dogs camping? I think ours would love it, have never tried though.

teaandcakes,,,am with you there with the longing for sun and some proper hot weather.

Tink...I am impressed that chocolate seems to be your only vice......oh, and shopping

OP posts:
120 · 16/03/2010 19:34

Of course... how could I miss the shopping FGS!!!

HZ look out a nice pattern for me as MIL is desperate for a pattern to knit L something plain and chunky.

hackneyzoo · 16/03/2010 20:00

Essential Kids and Junior Knits have good stuff, also look on Ravalry website, tons of lovely stuff. I am still on knitting very slowly for beginners!

OP posts:
moosemama · 16/03/2010 20:53

Hkz, we usually take two dogs and leave the old girl with her 'grandparents' (the MILs). They love it, but it can be a pain juggling the dcs and the dog's if we are away for a few days at a time. So if its longer than a couple of nights, we tend to kennel them instead. Problem is, that really puts up the cost of our holiday. It helps that they like to sleep in a crate together when we are away, even though they are both fairly big dogs and are proper squashed in there.

Oh and having the veedub helps too of course.

Lenni · 16/03/2010 22:10

Oh I getting so far behind on here

will bookmark and make another catch up attempt.

tinkstoddleriswalking · 17/03/2010 08:56

MsSparkle · 17/03/2010 16:50

Also, did someone mention chocolate....

...mmm

moosemama · 17/03/2010 17:02

Hi

Ds2 went back today and seems full of beans so that's one down one to go.

Ds1 is desperate to get back tomorrow for the dress rehearsal of their school play/musical (he's going to be a skeleton and has a glow in the dark outfit). He's also desperate to hand out his birthday party invitations now that he's cracked the code on his own and spent the morning double checking the encrypted parts on all the others with me to make sure they were right.

If I'm honest I would much rather he had another day or so off. He's all but better really, but still very tired and I'll have to go down to the school to give him his antibiotics an hour before lunch. There's no persuading him though.

Oh yes, I should have made the brownies. I totally failed and ate a tonne of Ben and Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew last night.

teaandcakeplease · 17/03/2010 20:14

MM - sounds like a lovely evening last night with the ice cream

All this talk of yummy things to eat is making me crave naughty things. I bought some special K today thinking I'd try their 2 week challenge, as I feel very chubby right now. Has it worked for anyone?

My boy is still struggling, it's been going on since Saturday now I thought he was improving but his nappies are still yucky and his appetite is still very poor. He's gone all thin round his cheeks. Hope he perks up soon.
