oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

LackaDAISYcal · 16/02/2010 23:08

jbm....In hope that once you are feeling a bit stronger, you are up to reporting the silly cow, and your supervisor for enabling the comment to be made in the first place. Thinking of you all and sending positive vibes for the coming few weeks.

Ria, I don't think baggins will suffer at nursery for lack of playgroup. Do you go to toddler group with him? I should think that is preparation enough. DD doesn't go to any playgroups (at least not where I leave her for a few hours) although she has been at the children's centre creche a couple of times and has been taken into the school nursery by them.

cake making sounds fun jammy....I wouldn't dare trying anything ambitious, so hats off to you!

daisycat is almost back to normal, so all we can think is that she has just had a rotten cold (she has done a fair bit of sneezing) and her age and tinyness meant that not eating for a few days knocked her for six.

Went to slimming world tonight; weight worse than I had thought...I have a LOT to lose.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/02/2010 13:53

I've got a bit of my baby back today because she's poorly so wants more cuddles etc. Jamlet had been sick in her bed when I went through this morning, and has been out of sorts all morning though no more sickness. But I took the morning off work to stay home with her just in case.

that you had to receive that call JBM! Couldn't believe what the woman said to you !

Glad Daisycat is getting better

Ooooh, cake decorating stuff has just arrived Shame Jamlet has already had her nap or I could get experimenting with snowdrops.

CharlottesClan · 17/02/2010 17:46

JBM! cheek!

yay daisycat!

cake sounds yummy

DH had catheter out today, so will be on the move a bit more which is what they wanted. (he was told off for staying in bed too much )
taking the kids to see him tomorrow, as i got permission to use the tv room from the head nurse lady. we cant go on the actual ward which is fair enough, there are lots of people sleeping, and recovering from operations

Riapwhatyousow · 17/02/2010 17:49

have you got started daisy? what do you think of the extra easy? are you joining the SW thread? you are very welcome on the "no guru" thread. back to it for me tomorrow!

poor jamlet

glad the pussycats are perking up.

knackered today.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/02/2010 19:36

Oh CC, that's good that you will get to see DH.

Jamlet got worse through the afternoon Temperature went up higher and didn't come down with calpol this time. So lots of CBeebies here.

Cake stuff is here, but no snowdrop cutters The one I had ordered wasn't in stock - and annoyingly I'd ordered that one almost at random, any size would do. So I will have to ring them tomorrow and see if they can send me another one instead

Riapwhatyousow · 17/02/2010 22:41

jammy. when is the WA?

yay natty. will be good for him to see the DC. I don't much like not being able to visit DH when he is in hospital (too far to travel), but, given the private room, attentive nurses, nice food, own TV etc, he is quite keen! I expect if he was in an NHS hospital he wouldn't be so happy.

LittleMissNorty · 18/02/2010 09:27

I'm thinking about going back to SW as well. Thinking atm

Hope Jamlet is feeling better this morning.

When I arrived at nursery last night, DD was in the bathroom wahing her hands treating everyone to a rendition of "slippy dippy soap" from that dreadful programme I can cook. Is that a sign she watches too much cBeebies .

Tripped over a baby and a pile of fucking toys this morning and a bowl of weetabix and a bowl of cheerios went flying! Fucking toys!

CharlottesClan · 18/02/2010 10:32

ahh norty THATS what the FB status was about. i did wonder why you would paint a room with food

DH has a possible infection so kids cant see him more because of them be frightened of the tubes etc then him being sick. hopeing we can go down tomorrow.

yes ria i can imagine it would be nice in a private room lol! food is awful at that hospital, and the nurses are useless. everytime they do his obs when he is asleep they push the table away from him and then he cant reach his drink/phone/book, so hes getting really fed up. hes in a ward of old people as well, so not enjoying himself much at all!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/02/2010 10:54

WA is on the 27th Ria. I just spoke to the shop; bigger snowdrop cutter being sent out today

CC, sorry about DH

Jamlet still has temp It was >39 overnight, but got it down to 38.5 this morning though, and she has been perkier with it and wanting to play, though having said that she is now dozing beside me.

Riapwhatyousow · 18/02/2010 17:04

for DH, hope he is better tomorrow.

I agree Norty. Looking forward to Tuesday so I can continue my de-clutter in peace. (there are lots of toys around that are on their way to the charity shop, into the new toy basket, but I need the boys and DH out of the way before I re-distribute them. DH will be a bit annoyed at more toys in the living room, but if I reshuffle when he isn't in, I don't think he would notice!)

Fell down the bottom 2 stairs again yesterday, am in agony and finding it difficult to walk. Luckily only twisted one foot this time.

Baggins flat out on the sofa after an afternoon at soft play with DS2 and his girlfriend, DS1 has wangled an invite to tea with his friend (the older brother of DS2s friend we had a playdate with yesterday). DS1 has been at a pentathalon taster day today, so hopefully will be too tired to be bolshy!

glad your snowdrops are on their way jammy

LittleMissNorty · 18/02/2010 18:32

Ouch for your ankle Ria.

Well just to add to my day, the dog shit all over the place during the one hour I was out of the house.....(think he's not feeling too great!), DS pulled over a potty of wee all over the carpet (I will learn one of these days to empty it quickly) and then he puked up everything he had eaten and drunk since lunchtime all over the floor. My house must stink!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/02/2010 19:01

O Norty We have a George carpet cleaning vacuum cleaner but I think we are a bit far to pop round with it tomorrow

And ouch for your ankle Ria

DH's birthday tomorrow. His present from Jamlet hasn't arrived, and I haven't been able to get out to the shops yesterday ot today so he has nothing from me either So off down to Sainsburys in a bit to see what I can find! And no one in my family has mentioned it . I usually have requests a week or two in advance asking what he might like or checking when the exact date is, but nothing this year .

shitforbrains · 18/02/2010 19:52

Fury here. Got a new moniker.

JBM - I heard on the grapevine about your news.
So, so sorry for your loss. You must be devastated. Were you close? And her poor little boy, what will he do now, does his Dad live with them?

Thinking of you xx

justbeme · 18/02/2010 20:26

Hi - havent caught up yet - just wondered who "Shitforbrains" was!!

We were quite close - but older sisters are always abit bossy arent they??
Her son has lived with her and her partner for the last 10yrs of his life and his Dad lives in the same area. I hope they listen to his wishes as to who he wants to live with. Thanks for asking.
Bedtime duties now.

LackaDAISYcal · 18/02/2010 21:46

sorry for poorly DC and dogs and sore ankles....sounds delightful in your house norty
I hope the cake things come this time jammy. Would have been nice for the online ordering system to let you know they were out of stock though!

fell off the diet wagon today....reasons to follow...but yes Ria,I am going to classes. Have 3st 9.5 lbs to get down to my ideal weight. I started yesterday and did well on the extra easy plan, but today . Extra easy seems like it is just Too Much Food, but my sisters have lost 7st between them in the last year, so I know it works.

having a nightmare day today....DC were awful, just awful . Decided to go to the library to give them a change of scene - weather shite again - and am surprised we weren't actually asked to leave . DD was running everywhere gleefully pulling books from shelves, bumble was copying her every move, DS1 was running after me as I ran after them shoving books under my nose and shouting "look,....blah blah, we have this at school" etc etc, and I was doing that growling in low tones through gritted teeth thing (to the point I now have a raw throat). Then after taking DD and bumble to the loo to change bumble's nappy and asking DD if she needed to be told No, she decided she needed five minutes later...and the toilet was at the complete other end from the children's section. I decided to go while we were in and was just pulling up my knickers when Dd openend the door (it was a disabled access toilet) I grabbed the door and pulled it violently shut just as she decided to make a dash for it and her head smacked into the handrail (just the right height for wheelchairs; even better for smacking small toddlers in the head) and she actually bounced and then ricocheted off the opposite wall, on a sharp corner. cue screams and me hastily shutting the door with my trousers round my fucking knees. Lord knows what all the people using computers thought was going on. I'm surprised they didn't lock me in a room and call the police or social services.

then checking the books out (after DD having a tantrum that she wasn't allowed about twenty books) on their hi-tec fancy systen that needed both hands, whislt trying to stop bumble making for the adjacent automatic door at every available opportunity, DD randomly pressing buttons on the touch screen and DS1 still mithering at me to pay attention to him.

NEVER again, I am scarred for fucking life

am scared to look on here incase someone has started a thread about the nasty mum they saw in the library car park today, as I dragged them all back to the car cursing and swearing at them

and to top it all, I have been smelling cigarette smoke (and even tasting it) for the last few days and it's making me want one, as well as driving me nuts and giving me a headache. I thought it was in the house and was accusing DH of smoking in here when I was out on Tuesday, but it has followed me everywhere. Very very random and a bit disconcerting.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 18/02/2010 22:17

Omg daisy i thought my day was bad! I hate taking my 2 to the library for similar reasons. My library doesn't have public toilets would you believe! I told them she would piss on the floor if they didn't let dd use the staff one. 2 year olds cannot hold it too long. I avoid the place now....we've got hundreds of books anyway!

Lets hope tomorrow is better.....well it will be for me as i'm going to work

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/02/2010 22:19

Daisy. I thought my trips to the library were bad...

Got dh's birthday pressies sorted

Riapwhatyousow · 19/02/2010 11:17

daisy. not surprised you fell of the diet wagon. Did your sisters just follow extra easy? I can't get my head round it (as in, can I still snack on SW chips), but daren't go on the SW thread to ask since passwordgate... starting again Monday anyway

fecking half term. should be banned. DS1 off at science day today (he has been to an organised activity every day but Tuesday. I am incredibly lucky that such things exist and that we are so poor we get assisted fees)

baggins slept on the sofa last night til 7pm, then was up til after 1am.

had a row with DH this morning, he has gone to work in a huff.

Hi fury.

Yuk for your day norty.

yay for DHs presents jammy. I need to get something for my nephew for tomorrow, looks like I'll have to go into town on the way to their house and wrap it in the utility room while I pretend to go to the loo!

stitches out this afternoon, have a very long hot bath planned for this evening.

LittleMissNorty · 19/02/2010 12:59

Hope your DH is having a great birthday Jammy

Think norovirus has hit my house . DS has just been picked up from nursery by DH and the dog has the shits.....that'll teach him to eat baby vomit won't it?! That's my week off work next week a bit buggered up!

LittleMissNorty · 19/02/2010 13:03

Meant to ask yesterday Daisy....did either of your parents smoke? I smell my dad's fags around me sometimes (but I find it quite comforting)

LackaDAISYcal · 19/02/2010 15:41

Ria, you can eat anything you want, ie unlimited meat/fish and rice, pasta, potatoes! but are limited to one A and one B choice only per day, and you are meant to proprotion your plate with at least a third of the superfree foods. syns are as normal. Have you got a booklet about it? If you read that you will know your onion IYSWIM . If not, I can send you one as I have the books from last year and also the new one I got on Tuesday.

I had a huge "fry" up for lunch today with SW chips; fantastic and all free

I have been soooooo good today. used some syns for some extra breakfast cereal, and an options hot chocolate (To stave off the chocolate cravings) but that's all I am trying my very own brand of image therapy as well...and have printed off a photo of me looking my fattest and worst and stuck it on the fridge...and will do another for the sweetie tin.

Norty, my mum stopped years ago, but my Dad did....not even thinking about that
sorry to hear about the sickness bug; we have escaped it pretty much, mine all just had one or at most two vomits and that was that.

I am sitting amid chaos...trying to sort out toys; yet again

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/02/2010 18:45

I thought I was doing so well. Despite toddler illness I managed to get birthday presents sorted, plan a lush dinner, and bake a birthday cake. We were going to have a family birthday tea t 5.30, but it was vet day as well, and they had said we should be able to pick the cat up mid afternoon, but when I rang at 2 they said I couldn't get her until 5.20 So Jamlet ended up having bangers and mash on her own and we'll have the lush dinner at 9pm after I get in (it sucks having to go to counselling on DH's birthday) and although that'll be nice, it just won't be the same

LackaDAISYcal · 20/02/2010 23:26

I hope you had a nice dinner in the end jammy.

had a horrible day here again and sent all the kids to bed early; then DS1 came down with a bag packed saying he was leaving home to go and live on the streets...silly boy.

OP posts:
Riapwhatyousow · 21/02/2010 11:50

daisy.

hope it was all OK jammy.

typed a massive post Friday night, then the laptop crashed and wouldn't post it.

crap weekend here. DH crashed the car driving home in a blizzard on Friday night, andhad to walk home with no coat as his mobile was flat. And I am to say I am F*ing . If there's one thing Mr Advanced Driver can do better than cooking it's crashing cars into hedges when he's been working. He seems OK enough to have arranged my Dad taking him to work last night and staying over without telling me though. I will be very cross if his bosses have taken him to hospital.

Snowing heavens high here now, so he will probably get stuck there anyway,

hope you are having a better day today daisy, and everyone is having a good weekend.

Ohforfoxsake · 21/02/2010 16:26

fancy distracting yourselves with some frippary (if thats a word?) I need accessory help over here
