oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

No Norty, a rugby widow. No valentines celebrations here, though I got lovely cards the children made at school. DD1 made one and put 10p for everyone in hers. Bless. She's just lovely. (One out of four ain't bad )

What's up Ria? Are you ill or stressed?

Good to hear Jamkit doing OK.

Hope Daisycat is doing OK.

Good luck to Mr CC and his op.

I am wondering how I can be this bored. Perhaps I should be enjoying the lull before the storm.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/02/2010 19:55

Ria, I kind of fell into this job, but I did train to do something pretty related. From 6th form age I was interested in medical physics and trained for that and did work in that field for several years, but then it went a little wrong for me and I needed a change and just then this job came up so I jumped ship. Good luck with whatever you do! I look forward to hearing about it

ANd good luck for Mr CC!

I had 10+ minutes out in the cold delivering Father Valentine presents to Jamlet this afternoon. Apparently she was confused by the first present left on the doorstep, pleased to see the second and for the 2rd and 4th she was running to the door! DH is now worried that we are teaching her to open the door to all and sundry and take gifts from stangers etc

The jamkit ran away as I tried to inject her tonight I caught her and gave her the dose but it has troubled her and she is now refusing to eat. Not good as there is a risk that insulin and no food can drop blood sugar too low. So I have the honey on standby to rub round her mouth if needed...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/02/2010 20:21

Hey Foxy - still thinking of making your own cake? How about this as a cake topper?

Ohforfoxsake · 14/02/2010 20:40

Oh those are brilliant Jammy!

No, dispensed with that idea

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/02/2010 20:53

Very wise Foxy But glad you liked them.

justbeme · 14/02/2010 21:36

Haven't had time to catch up -
Im so sad today......
I had two policemen knock on my door last night at 2100 - to tell me that my poor sister who was only 44, took her own life, leaving a 12yr old son.
I can't stop crying and I know you lot are very supportive, so wanted to share.
This is the sort of time that I would have wanted my sister around to be able to phone her and cry - and she's not there....

FestiveFairyFay · 14/02/2010 21:49

Oh my God, JBM. I don't know what to say, other than I am SO sorry

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/02/2010 22:06

Oh god, JBM. So very sorry. Don't know what else to say other than that we may not be yor sister, but you can cry or rant or whatever to us anytime! But hope you know that already.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/02/2010 23:01

OMG jbm how awful . words aren't enough to convey just how sorry I am for you all. we're here for you whenever you need us though.

daisycat seems to have turned a corner and has eaten a little more today and seems less wobbly on her pins. She even went outside earlier. She's lost a lot of weight though

DH is much better too and has conceded that a few days R and R is needed...though with half term, he won't get much of that round here!

OP posts:
Riapwhatyousow · 14/02/2010 23:45

JBM, so for you, wish there was something I could do. Make sure you look after yourself though.

Ohforfoxsake · 15/02/2010 07:46

Dear JBM, I'm so sorry. Such an awful thing to happen. Please do come here for a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen or to vent your anger.

We've all been here for such a long time, you know we are here for you and that won't change.

Take care xx

LittleMissNorty · 15/02/2010 08:30

LittleMissNorty · 16/02/2010 09:23

CharlottesClan · 16/02/2010 09:51

Ohforfoxsake · 16/02/2010 15:45

Good news CC. A week is a long time in hospital. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Thinking of you JBM. xx

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/02/2010 16:49

CC. Hope he is back on his feet and raring to go soon!

I think the Jamkit is improving by the way She's booked in for blood test on Friday to check, so fingers crossed.

Have made 2 appointments to visit local pre-schools with a view to moving Jamlet from her current nursery to one closer to home in Sept and then building up her hours a little term by term using the gov paid sessions. Seems awfully and scary to be looking at them though, she's still so young

Should be getting my cake decorating supplies tomorrow - am doing the cake for Mum & Dad 50th WA. I want to make some snowdrops, so may well be posting pics of my attempts on my profile over the next few days to see if you think are good enough!

JBM - hope you are getting by OK. Thinking of you.

justbeme · 16/02/2010 18:32

Thanks for all the messages.

Still finding it hard, just need to get through the next few weeks and the funeral.

Just had to take a phone call from work asking me why wasn't I in, when my Supervisor should have written me off on compassionate leave.
"I'll forgive you in those circumstances" said the stupid women (I cant stand her normally, now I know she has no people skills!!)

CC - hope your hubby is ok. It must be very hard for you being alone at home with your children whilst he's there in hospital.

LittleMissNorty · 16/02/2010 19:29

some people! Good to hear from you JBM....can't begin to imagine how you are feeling. Thinking of you x Hope your nephew is ok too x

Riapwhatyousow · 16/02/2010 22:44

silly bitch. Hope you are doing OK JBM.

IKWYM Jammy. Baggins will go to "school" come September, as that's where the nursery is here (at the primary), currently I can't afford for him to go to the playgroup (not that that is what it is anymore, as they've had to change their services due to the nursery unit opening), so he will only get half a term there before the summer hols (after Easter I think I will have to make space in the weekly budget, or he is going to be so unprepared). Have been watching him a bit over the last few days and he is a big boy now, not much baby left

Riapwhatyousow · 16/02/2010 22:45

oops, cake sounds fab jammy. look forward to the pics. We passed a cake shop today and DH was drooling!
