oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

hey guys

sorry for not being on much, DH came home and ive been busy being nurse maid to everyone as for the 3 days b4 that everyone was sick with a v+d bug, and then to dh.

its been nearly a week since his op, and he woke me up in the night last night (on top of the other 5 times the other kids woke me) to help him get out of bed.
i was very with him which prompted a huge arguement about the fact he insisted he was in more pain after a kidney removal, 5 night interupted sleep and morphine drip, then i had been after 17 hours of labour, emergancy section, sleepless nights and paracetomal.

am a but that i snapped but i am recovering from the nasty bug me and kids had as well as getting up to them all night.

anyway rant over u cn all tell me how IABU being now

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/02/2010 18:18

I don't think you are BU, CC, but maybe it's a shock to his system to not have the morphine now?? And after all, he IS a man Don't blame you at all for being miffed though!

Riapwhatyousow · 21/02/2010 19:57

YANBU.

Am not in the mood for ladling out sympathy myself, and I feel man-flu might be in the air

any lovers of chick lit? Have just read Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella and I loved it

Riapwhatyousow · 21/02/2010 20:01

gorgeous dress foxy, what are your shoes like?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/02/2010 20:04

Well the weekend turned out OK We had a fab and very leaisurely lunch out with friends yesterday for DH's birthday, and I took Jamlet to the park when we got home. And we did plan to go to soft play this afternoon, but the weather turned out better than expected so we went for a walk instead. We took Jamlet's trike and although she failed to get the hang of pedalling, she did improve her steering. And then we went to the park again on the way home

LackaDAISYcal · 21/02/2010 22:11

I had a great day today Ria...on account of the fact that I went back to bed at 10am and didn't wake up until 3pm! Kids were great

arse about DH crashing the car Ria, and double arse at his working schedule. At least when DH is away over night I have plenty of warnging about it.

sorry things are a bit rough Natty. I'm sure you would be more sympathetic if you hadn't just been ill yourself, but lord can men be miserable woosies about things. Mine is a martyr on the other hand; not sure which is worse!!

I've been watching the Ski Cross at the wintry olympics...proper mental stuff!

bloody hell am i pleased im not pregnant... (first period since xmas, was getting worried)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/02/2010 13:05

If it makes you feel any better CC, on Saturday evening DH was accusing me of being a horrible grumpy old so-and-so all day, and I had a bit of a huff saying I wasn't. But then I stomped up to the bathroom, looked down and thought "Ah... Maybe I have been an old grump then, and this would explain it!"

Ohforfoxsake · 22/02/2010 14:34

Ria - Ivory Jimmy Choo winkle-pickers. (half-price in the sale)

LackaDAISYcal · 22/02/2010 15:48

lol, AF gets me like that every month as well; you'd think after almost 30 years of it I'd be used to it by now!!

dress is gorgeous foxy; you will look fabulous

JammyQueenOfTheCasualties · 22/02/2010 20:05

Oh dear, that has depressed me now Daisy. Almost 30 years of periods (minus pregnancy and post pregnancy time off). Ah well, at least I can say I'm over half way Actually I'm probably more like 2/3 of the way through them . Mmmm, that is more depressing

Dinner in 2 parts tonight. Chicken and bacon pancakes (yummy yummy from Waitrose easy cook range) ready but roasted veg not. So have had my pancake and now waiting for sweet potato and butternut squash...

JammyQueenOfTheCasualties · 22/02/2010 20:48

Oh and on the way from nursery to the bus stop I saw that look of concentration on Jamlet's face. She'd done a huge poo in her pants so we had to go back to nursery and get her changed and then rush back to get the bus. Thankfully we got there in time. And thankfully she did it before we got on the bus!

LittleMissNorty · 23/02/2010 08:25

Awww Jammy....as you say, at least you were able to get back to nursery.

Well I'm on my week off work and my 3 child free days have reduced to 2....DS well on the mend now from his D&V but is like a limpet .

Dress is fab Foxy....I do hope we get to see the pics after the event? What are the DCs wearing?

Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2010 09:41

I'll Facebook the pics. I did really very bloody well at the Next sale, so boys in 3 piece grey suits (and Converse) girls in cream bridesmaid dresses.

Am chuffed you all like it

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2010 10:14

I must admit foxy, I did LOL at the leopard print, but in a good way

bumble is covered in spots! It looks like an allergic reaction and the only thing we can think of was he had some monkey nuts at breakfast yesterday...the spots came up yesterday afternoon.

Am puzzled as he has had nuts before, but there isn't anything else that he ate yesterday that is a typical allergen

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 23/02/2010 10:17

What's the date again? Is it on your birthday?

LittleMissNorty · 23/02/2010 10:17

could it be a viral rash Daisy?

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2010 10:26

Not sure Norty....viral rashes have always been pinpricky and Not sure not itchy ime, this is lots of individual raised itchy spots which have merged into big raised patches where he has been scrathing at them. Looks horrible

We are off to the docs in a minute to get some piriton for them!

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 23/02/2010 10:43

That is precisely why it was meant for me!

LittleMissNorty · 23/02/2010 10:48

oh yes, sounds horrible Daisy....hope the piriton helps.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/02/2010 11:32

ah well, no piriton for bumble....not licensed for under twos any more apparently . Got some E45 anti-itch cream as the doc thinks it is an allergic reaction. He said not to worry about it being nuts because a) he has eaten them before and b) with nuts/nut traces being in lots of things, if it was nuts we'd have known about it by now (not entirely convinced of that as allergies have to start somewhere don't they? )

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheCasualties · 23/02/2010 11:58

Poor Bumble, hope he's OK. I'm scratching here too so he has my sympathy - eczema (sp?) playing up the worst it has been for years. Back of my ear has been bleeding for days and today the backs of my knees are on fire, and I have big patches of dry, itchy skin on my thighs Of course, I know more about what's happening, so Bumble does have it worse than me. And let's hope it's not a nut allergy.

And sorry your week off isn't going to plan Norty

Jamlet woke screaming about 9.30 last night. DH went up and said she was asleep when he went in, but she was awake by the time I got up there. She screamed for about 10 mins and wouldn't let me try to cuddle/comfort her. it was awful. She asked for a nappy change and I did so even though it was dry. not sure if it was a nightmare or night terror - from what I've read they stay asleep through night terrors, but maybe DH woke her up? Other than her being awake it sounds like a night terror

ps name change is due to change of emphasis of my projects at work. i now spend most of my time looking at how to treat casualties, not what happens with sewage. A slight improvement!
