oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

Riapentatleisure · 30/03/2010 22:39

thank you. This "new me" is quite high maintenance though - all this activity and organisation is exhausting! And to think this is how I used to be when we only had DS1 would love to give in and sleep for a week though

I have a nice new window - it took the guy about 7 minutes to remove the old one and fit the new one. and that included a trip out to his car with the broken one!

I even managed to find time for a haircut today

LackaDAISYcal · 30/03/2010 22:59

lurking......but not having the time to post!...or rather about to post, hen "Muuuuuuuuum..." "he said, she said, he did, she did, they said, they did" scream wail crash thump...and I only get time to catch up with scrabble on fb and then it's either bedtime or DH wants his pooter back....must get my laptop fixed, or else bear the freezing cold spare room withe the uber slow desktop.

Ria, you sound all energised and together; I salute you lovely. I hope that things work out the way that you want them to, and agree that this should all be on your terms as you were the one left in the lurch. If he does come home, he has some seeeeerious repenting to do!!!

wow jbm, this has gone really quickly!!!! Much empathy on the last few weeks thoyugh; they really really suck...but are soooo worth it in the end

Having a good week here.....weekly wiegh in tonight and I lost a whole 7lbs this week can't quite believe it, but there it is. Th nhumiliation of gaining 5 last week and the memory of how crap I felt worked better than any fridge lock ever invented......fingers crossed easter doesn't get in the way of my stone award next week!!!!

lol jammy aty being dismayed to being less radioactive ....i hope the new work is interesting though!

norty, did DS get his MMR?

right, loving and leaving y'all again.....will hopefully have pooter sorted soon....am taking it to see a man who knows how these things work tomorrow. hoping it's as simple as replacoing my charger and battery.

kisses

yay daisy, well done. am also determined to keep the scales onward and downward, but DS1 is assembling making pizza at school tomorrow, and baggins and DS2 made pizzas with their dad tonight and brought them home to cook tomorrow (we were meant to be having friends over, but they can't come - all the more for me must be good!)

Riapentatleisure · 31/03/2010 14:32

anyone about to give me a virtual kick and tell me I'm an arse?

FairyFay · 31/03/2010 15:18

what's up ria??

Riapentatleisure · 31/03/2010 16:33

just really today. DH has had his operation moved back, and I had set that in my mind as sort of a "turning point", that if we were putting the effort in then by the time his op was over then maybe we would be getting somewhere. My own fault, but I still feel

FairyFay · 01/04/2010 14:53
Sad
Jammyrella · 01/04/2010 18:05

Sorry about yesterday Ria

What a contrast between yesterday and today. Yesterday afternoon we went to soft play and Jamlet had a whale of a time And so did I My legs ache today though after climbing up and down and up and down the equipment.

But today Jamlet woke up cold at 4.20am and would not go back to sleep so I had to get into bed with her (all cramped up in her toddler bed) for 2 hours. The 2 upsets from the neightbours this morning. First the guy opposite asked me to move my car (parked on the street) as he had a visitor coming and if they parked opposite me the road would be blocked. Why his friend couldn't park in the spot I ended up moving to I don't know . Then when we went out another neighbour was walking her 20 year old, blind, deaf, limping dog. She said that she had been meant to have him put down on Tuesday but didn't have the heart to do it. "Could you do it Jammy?" you asked accusingly. I told her that I had actually had my cat put down a couple of weeks back, and she just shrugged and said that was different. The day did get better after that but Jamlet has been a right pain all day. I think she is worn out after a full on afternoon yesterday and an early start today, but you know what, so am I!

justbeme · 01/04/2010 20:49

What moany old neighbours Jammy
and Ria, Im guilty of looking too far forward sometimes, but try and take "little steps" and then you won't get too disappointed

Baby is breech at the moment but still time to turn eh??

Can you tell I like these bunnies??
especially , but they dont do a bunny biscuit one!!

Riapentatleisure · 02/04/2010 14:02

bunny biscuit would be just wrong, but those cadbury caramel bunnies are quite nice!

am off to brave Tesco now, need an easter gift for DS2s girlfriend, and a token baby gift to send to the freecycle lady who gave me the guitar

it's cold, I have a cold, and I'm too tired for bank holiday jollity.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/04/2010 20:31

Six hours into the easter hols and i have bloody weell had enough already. My children are determined to kill each other, DD is jumping up and down and screeching and crying if even the slightest thing isn't going her way (dropping her cup, the cat sitting on the play kitchen, bumble smiling at her amongst others) and DS1 is being challenging to say the least.

Is it too early for wine???? which is nonsense as well as i can't drink the stuff as i have had my quota for this week and can't have more for fear of blowing the weight loss again......

at your neighbour jammy. can't her family do it? and that she is one of those types that think that cats are lesser animals than dogs...

happy easter

actually not feeling that curmudgeonly, and i might just have that wine this evening and think sod it!!!!!

ria sorry that the operation being put back has made you glum .....i agree it's too easy to piin all our hopes onto one thing and when that one thing doesn't come off to feel despondent. As jbm says, you have come so far in only a few weeks and seem soooo much more resilient than before, courage in the face of adversity and all that. Perhaps as well this will give you a bit more time to make sure that whichever way you go forward is definately the best way forward for everyone. Much love though; big holiday weekends are the hardest when you are going through emotional shit. I hope DS1 is doing ok; he sounds like such a sensitive wee soul.

right, started this about 8 hours ago, but then the4 battery died and this is the firsdt chance I've had to sit down......wouldd love to say i have prolly missed loads, but somehow I don't think I will have

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 03/04/2010 13:29

LOL daisy. I had a day like that yesterday. I even bought 3 bottles of wine (out for lunch tomorrow, so taking a bottle as a gift, and I wanted one bottle for me, but Tesco 3 for £10 was too good to miss), then after visiting Dsis I was really late cooking tea, then visiting DM because the DC had another tantrum when I said we couldn't... baggins didn't go to sleep until 10.30, so I didn't even feel like drinking it.

another 2lb off for me this week so am having a bit of a "sod it" day today

fingers crossed DS1 is going to maybe see his dad tomorrow...

hope you're having a better day today

LittleMissNorty · 03/04/2010 22:43

Hiya - so been abscent for ages....lurking though.

Hope you're ok Ria - sounds like you're doing brilliantly. Must be difficult for the DCs.....is DS1 struggling? And bloody well done on the weight loss

Hope you had the wine Daisy.....I had some tonight as well.

Took DCs to the zoo today.....was OK but hasn't changed in years. Kids loved it but we weren't overwhelmed by it (except the gorillas which were fab). Walked over to a field to see some buffalo and K thought she was going to see the Gruffalo and was saying the poem so she was sorely disappointed . She was also pissed off becasue it didn't rain (as forecast) and wasn't allowed to use her umbrella . DS was grumpy because he wanted OUT of the buggy, but can't walk far enough yet....so fun fun and more fun all around

Getting excited for you Foxy and JBM? Is your birthday before or after the big day Foxy?

I am knackered, so off to bed for me.....

Where are all the usual suspects then?

Jammyrella · 04/04/2010 19:58

Good to see you Norty! No Buffalo at the wildlife park we went to today but a good day out all the same. Jamlet saw the train going round and spent all morning going "train train" and making wheel motions with her arms and chuff chuff noises, until she saw a boy with his face painted. "Face paint" she kept saying, wiping her hand over her face. So she was painted up like a blue tiger Then she saw the carousel ride and SO very much wanted a go on it. We explained that she could either go on the ride OR the train and she was adamant she wanted to go on the ride, so off she went and loved it. But the moment she got off? "Train!" Oh dear, the looks we got when we said no!! But we did buy her a tiger mask to take home so we're not all bad, even though DH did tell her to be quiet as we went into the wolves' bit "otherwise the wolves will eat you"

Daisy - your lot all alive still? Jolly good! Remember you'll look back on this fondly in 20 30 40 (how long to senility?) years time!

Riapentatleisure · 06/04/2010 10:04

am taking DS1 to the dentist this morning to get his mutant tooth checked out. PLEASE keep your fingers crossed that it is normal and that he will not never need anaesthetic/any kind of medical procedure where the medical practitioner might come off worst

sounds like a nice day norty and jammy. been a boring weekend here, except a nice lunch at Dsis's on Sunday, including our parents and uncle.

Am wishing the metaphorical sun would shine...

Riapentatleisure · 06/04/2010 10:06

that was a Charlie and Lola style "Will Not Never", not bad grammar

Jammyrella · 06/04/2010 12:04

Oh, hope the tooth is OK Ria? What is "mutant" about it? And hope that sun does shine again for you - meteorlogically and metaphorically. As long as we can have some rain here please, because otherwise I have to go water the lawn tonight having got DH to put lawn feed stuff on in a hurry yesterday after lunch "because it looks like it will rain any time now."

Riapentatleisure · 06/04/2010 17:28

phew, tooth fine. He has to twist it a bit - it is his new tooth growing next/under his last remaining baby molar, and the baby one is kind of sideways - it looks weird! The dentist could have taken it out, but didn't seem so inclined.

The little boys had a great time at their grandparents with their cousins today

justbeme · 08/04/2010 19:13

Wow this is way too quiet!!
Have you all been enjoying the sunshine today?
Went to the swings and planted some seeds. Have the night off work which is fab - only 6 more shifts to go!! (3 weeks).

Hope Foxys wedding is great on saturday and that the weather stays nice.

Jammyrella · 08/04/2010 20:31

It is very quiet indeed.

Hope you are well JBM - and everyone else too of course. I have enjoyed some sunshine today, did some weeding and got prepared for digging in 800kg topsoil . Also been enjoying this

Got speech assessment for Jamlet tomorrow, so fingers crossed. And we should be starting some "Communication Through Play" sessions in May so hopefully her speech will come on a bit more - I think it has improved loads since Christmas but I am the only one who can understand a lot of what she says still, and she is obviously still behind her peers.

Riapentatleisure · 09/04/2010 10:26

good luck to Jamlet

hope all goes well foxy

yay for only 6 shifts JBM

DS1s birthday today, currently I could fecking kill him for goading DS2

am not great atm

LittleMissNorty · 09/04/2010 22:07

Aww Ria hope you're ok and have had some wine. Blimey where has the year gone....I remember DS1s birthday last year when you wrote that fab poem

Riapentatleisure · 09/04/2010 22:17

aww, thanks norty, had forgotten that. DS1 has had a good day - he loved his guitar and the Beatles book I got him, his Dad got him the much wanted R/C plane, so he got £30 birthday money that he now has to think of something to buy with it. We went to town and got a guitar strap and more fecking picks, visited Dsis and had biscuits, had a special tea, went out to fly the plane, then grandparents and cream cakes.

baggins has nappy rash from hell, and got his fingers shut in the car door (must be the car - DS1 shut DS2s in it yesterday), he is asleep with a bandage on after a rescue pastille, arnica and calpol

having wine now (and a bag of sensations not clever when it's weigh-in tomorrow), while DS1 has a glass of bucks fizz, peanuts and School of Rock on DVD...

hope everyone is OK have a good weekend! Good luck foxy

LittleMissNorty · 09/04/2010 22:24

sounds like a lovely birthday.....

Sod the calories, sounds like they've done some good!

Good luck to Foxy for tomorrow

how did DD get on Jammy?

Riapentatleisure · 09/04/2010 22:39

think the wine is helping shame it isn't an ingredient of cornflakes

we were meant to be going to this memorial today too,but didn't make it, but will go soon (have driven past a couple of times, thankfully in daylight as I think it would be pretty scary at night). I am taking DS1 to here probably next week when the others go to visit MIL (every cloud has a silver lining)

will be glad when this dratted film has finished and we can go to bed (obviously DHs genes here...)
