oops, didn't notice the thread was getting too big!

PMSL at the Burn's night smilies; I thought they were wearing earphones.

not sure I agree with them; as a proud Scot, I hate all that fucking tacky tartan crap that we get labelled with, tartan tammies and fake ginger hair more than most

Sorry things aren't great Ria, but gla DS ha a good birthday.

Good luck Foxy!!!

Had a nice day out with Jamlet an ILs. Jamlet's speeach assessment thing lastest 45 mins and the woman agrees her speech is behind but seeing as she is making good progress at the moment have been given a list of hints (all of which I already know) and will go again in about 3 months. So a bit that they don't think it's too bad but a bit as well. The bit I was really pleased with was that half way through Jamlet said "poo, poo" so we took the potty, went in the loo, she had a poo, I cleared up the potty and we went back, job done. No to-ing and for-ing while she decided if her need to poo was greater than the fear of poo-ing on the potty/in a strange toilet etc, she just did it

And went to cinema with DH tonight . Saw The Girl With the ragon Tattoo. Was good, but too graphic and disturbing in parts for me Had me feeling sick and in tears in parts and when we came out Brought back bad memories of something - MUCH MUCH MUCH less horrific but still not good - that happened when I was 17 ( that that's 22 years ago!) and that I haven't even thought of for several years (other than a cold statement of fact at the counselling). Could really do with a counselling session now about it tbh, but got another whole week to go - should have been there tonight but a)didn't want ILs to know about it and b)seemed a shame to pass up a rare opportunity of baby sitters. Sorry to dump all that out, I am OK, or will be by morning at least, especially now I've had a chance to let some of it out here, thank you x

Riapentatleisure · 10/04/2010 10:27

yay for Jamlet

sorry about your evening though, hope you are OK today.

it's a lovely day, might get in the garden later, but I have loads I want to do in the house and am sure we will be going flying again

Jammyrella · 10/04/2010 21:06

Hope Foxy had a fab, fab day

Lovely day here - trip to garden centre with MIL, lunch out with ILs and then visit to the arboretum

justbeme · 10/04/2010 21:56

What a fab sunny day for Foxy - hope it all went brilliantly!

Ive caught the sun today - in April!! Had a good time out at a local dog show and found a large new park with great play equipment that Im sure we'll be using over the summer! Bring on the picnics!

Hope you're feeling better today Jammy. Seems like you had a nice day to take your mind off things.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2010 21:59

yooo hooooo....just popping in to wave. sorry not been logging in, life is too too hectic and stilll no pooter to play with, so relying on dh's mercy; i think he is relishing the fact that he has contriol over hoqw much time i spend online!!

jammy; hope you are ok, much hugs ffor you and i hope you can talk to your counsellor soon. Can you call them? when i was seeing the postnatal MH team i could call them at any time

ria, how are things with you and you? will try and catch up soon....

foxy, missed the channce to wish you well for today; i'm sure it all went without a hitch; well perhaps just one hitch, eh? and that the pic taking went well for fury.

It has been a lovely day hasn't it

cut the grass and cleaned the car inside and out today (it's cleaner than the house now)

the boys have all had a good day too - DS1 out with his friend nearly all day, plus stayed out for tea and Dr Who... the little ones helped in the garden and with the car so are fast asleep now

exhausted and heading for bed shortly. I am out with Dsis for my xmas present tomorrow - a certain very famous brass band are doing a concert locally and she bought us both tickets (please don't laugh - we are from Oop North after all, and both used to play when younger), I hate to sound ungrateful, but I think she is more excited than I am, though I will enjoy it, but brass bands are possibly better in idyllic countryside settings, on hazy summer days, part of the atmosphere...

LittleMissNorty · 10/04/2010 22:26

Ria - I wouldn't laugh - that is one of my favourite films of all time. I did laugh at the doumentary recently on the TV though - did you see it? Can't remember the name of the band now, but my god, the arguments and egos were hilarious.

Glad the day was lovely for Foxy.

I've been in Greenwich today....beautiful weather but unfortunately I was working.

Riapentatleisure · 11/04/2010 10:42

no I didn't see that Norty. I think the band in question is the one that film is based on. This year I would like to go the the annual competition at Hardraw Force, but I don't imagine I'll manage it as it's after the kids go back to school in September. Both my Dsis's were in a competition! (don't think they won - I was a baby)

not as nice weather today, and a bit sore from my gardening excesses. Good old DS1 for letting me lie in for a bit

LittleMissNorty · 11/04/2010 13:19

Have a great time Ria

Ohforfoxsake · 11/04/2010 19:39

Thank you for all your lovely kind wishes. It was fantastic. Beyond my most hopeful wishes.

It was very, very lovely.
Very, very special.
And I am very, very lucky!

xxxxxxxxxx

Jammyrella · 11/04/2010 20:42

Glad you had a good day Foxy and HUGE congratulations!!!

I dug 300kg of topsoil into the garden this morning, then spent £140 at the garden centre this afternoon and planted out about two-thirds of my purchases Rather achey now but the garden is looking much better.

Riapentatleisure · 11/04/2010 21:03

glad you had a happy day foxy, massive congratulations, and of course, wishes for much happiness to come.

wow jammy, that's some trip to the garden centre! glad you had a nice day.

my afternoon was good. I have to say I thought my days of being the youngest person at an event (barring 2 or 3 children) were long gone, but I was the youngest by at least 20 years. Had a lovely time (and a lovely view of 3rd tenor horn). Am of Dsis though, she is going to band practice on Wednesday with her kids. , have had to content myself with looking at tenor horns I can't afford on ebay...

Norty, can I ask what it is about the film you like? (was going to watch it but seems I have lent it to someone) It used to be my favourite but I find it very depressing.

very tired though, it's all that getting dressed up and going out!

justbeme · 11/04/2010 21:48

Ohh Foxy - glad the wedding went well - Are you off anywhere?

Jammy - that's alot of spend in the garden centre!!

My local boot sale started up today - spent £2 on a newborn starter kit of Mothercare Smart nappies - still had the price tag on of £40!! and they'd never been used!

LittleMissNorty · 12/04/2010 08:14

Wow what a bargain JBM!

Ria - its the music I love. It was depressing but a great film with fab music! I'm a real music lover. In my younger days, my dream was to learn the clarinet and play in an orchestra but that was for families with more money than ours. I learnt to play the piano and guitar and done a lot of music theory etc then science took over my life and I never followed any of it up . I did look into adult ed but I studied for 11 years after leaving school to get qualified so never had the chance . Too late now. But I still love listening to proper music (although I don't know much about it)

Jammyrella · 12/04/2010 12:11

Yes that was a lot to spend at the garden centre. But that's what happens when you don't have any plants in your garden and have a lovely new border dug out and want to put a load of plants in. Even with all those plants it looks very sparse at the moment but it should look grand given time. I ache all over today though! Indoor gardening tonight I think, with seeds and pots and some planning of what to grow to fill in some of the spaces.

Good bargain JBM!

justbeme · 12/04/2010 18:37

Ohh Norty - Justin answered your question on the web chat!!

Jammy, the best place to buy plants is at a boot sale - so much cheaper!!

Riapentatleisure · 13/04/2010 14:33

it's never too late Norty (though having small DC seems to get in the way somewhat)

Am , ordered a new phone on Sunday, have spent all day waiting in (and bearing the brunt of DS1s teenager-mood as I cancelled his plans for today - for other reasons as well as waiting for the UPS man) and the order has been cancelled, and I was told when I rang to order again via the website, but order cancelled staight away again. I want a pink phone (was actually upgrading so DS1 could have my camera phone, honest)

AIBU to want to load the DC and their belongings into the car and deliver them to DHs doorstep so I can have some peace?

Riapentatleisure · 13/04/2010 23:36

2 online orders, 2 emails later, and I rang up and did it all over the phone! new pink phone arriving Friday (could have had it tomorrow but have promised DS1 a day out...)

thanks goodness for FB though - I am saving all my photo albums on there onto memory stick as ALL my photos are the currently broken PC and I can't find all of the back-ups (just some, but I do have a big box to go through when I can be bothered). AM relieved that most of my FB pics are my favourites and they are not lost forever (sadly have also lost the new memory stick I bought when they were cheap in Tesco, so will have to get another,a s the one I have is only tiny memory-wise). Also need the software disc for my old phone so I can clear it off for DS1, but I think DH has that...

are yours back at school daisy or do you have another week like us?

Jammyrella · 14/04/2010 13:20

Yay for a pink phone Ria!!!

Manic morning at work with a 2 and quarter hour meeting . THankfully Jamlet seems to have gone down for a nap now we are home, so I have a little bit to eat lunch and rest before doing some chores and then we have friends coming later and I promised we would make biscuits.

Riapentatleisure · 16/04/2010 22:20

new phone finally here, but it's same as old phone, just pink and a different model number. Also, after spending ages saving old phone pics to a memory card, I hit the wrong button and deleted the lot ARSE! Keep reminding myself that no one is injured, they were only pics, and I have similar ones to most of them on FB, but still

Jammyrella · 17/04/2010 09:42

sorry about your pics Ria

We have a breakthrough! Jamlet is sitting playing happily ALL BY HERSELF! She has wooden bricks and her toy Dyson, and now she is bored of stacking the bricks she is seeing how many she can fit in the dust collection box bit of the Dyson Keeping her amused for ages while DH and I have coffees Never thought this day would come! Oh and we have been getting more spoken words, and yesterday had a bit of a breakthrough with forming sentences. We had been at the park, and she kept pointing to the swimming pool ("wimmin pool") and I kept saying we couldn't go then but would go soon. As we left she pointed at it again and said "wimmin pool. Mummy say soon." Sorry this is probably old hat to those of you who have been having whole conversations for months, but I was really excited by it!

LackaDAISYcal · 17/04/2010 22:24

fabulous news jammy and woohoo jamlet ...and not old hat at all; we all know how concerned you have been! We're now waiting for the day that you come on and moan about the fact that she hasn't stopped wittering on at you all day

busy busy here; doing nothing mostly....i would never have believed how much of my time one small child would take up....bumble is a tour de force, alwaqys on the go, never happy to sit in one place for long. tis exhausting.

yes ria, we had another week, but ds1 was at a tennis camp run by the high school for three days, so it was manageable. I have been a right old grumpy mare; lack of sleep and constant pain is definately getting to me. back for x-rays again this week as initial pelvic x-ray has shown up some thickening of the membrane round the bone so needs more investigations, and I'm off for an ultrasound of my shoulder next week......tis only 27 hyears after the initial injury, so who knows what they can do about that one!!

been in the garden all day and have bouoght some bedding plants and seeds for the DC to plant up, so with all the veg we have already sown, we are fast running out of available garden....have lots of tubs though, so they can be brought into service if required.

we need to make a time to all be onloine together for a chat.....missing the mad conversations that used to happen.

much love to all xx

Well Done Jamlet

Ria, is there no way they can be recovered?

justbeme · 19/04/2010 21:14

Well done Jamlet and sorry to hear your woes Daisy.

Well Lo started preschool today - 3hrs. She cried for about 10 mins when I left apparently, but was then ok and proclaimed
" I really loved it", when I picked her up, and "when Im a big girl, I wont cry anymore!"

I got so much done in the first 2 hours - it was fab!!

So what are you all doing that's so exciting in RL?

Riapentatleisure · 20/04/2010 13:50

yay jamlet.

nope Jammy, you tell us all you want. I have my own belated achievement to announce - DS slept in his own bed all night on Sunday night. Baggins in his own all night on Saturday night. I spent most of Saturday night awake waiting for them to wake up and come in to me so am not benefitting from it yet! Nice to know that the whole of Saturday I spent cleaning their room/moving furniture has paid off. Another day in there sorting clothes and toys and shelves, and it should be perfect... Am meant to be hitting DS1s room with the bin bags tomorrow.

glad you had a nice bit of time to yourself JBM. I don't want baggins to go.

My course materials came today
