Ladies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
youngerthanspringtime · 10/02/2010 22:07

evening all.

llare, you ok? so glad G is fine, how scary! I've made a mental note to scan the area where I put down H. I've already caught her a few times with hair clips in her fists.

Fi, G is 22 lbs? wow! H has a lot of catching up to do.

Headless, spahhhhh, lucky you!

Belgina, dyou ever just want to hit the DPs in any of the labours you've attended? That man on the program yesterday was an idiot.

llareggub · 10/02/2010 22:26

I'm OK now. I do usually scan the area before I plonk him down but I must have missed this one.

Fi, too late for the meet-up but we have this Quinny hip carrier and I can go for miles with it. I hardly use the buggy at all these days.

belgina · 10/02/2010 22:40

younger Oh yes I do. Although the worst one was a mum who was with her daughter and she started crying every time the daughter had a contraction. I really wanted to kick her out.

belgina · 10/02/2010 22:43

llare I'd seen you on pics with that carrier and I'd been wondering what it was. I'm not good at hip carries, I find them uncomfortable. I need the weight to be spread over both sides. My favourite at the moment. So beautiful

FiByTheIcySea · 10/02/2010 22:52

llare the hip carrier looks an improved version of the hippychick one i've just borrowed from a friend. She handed it to me when we dropped the dc's at pre school & I tried it at lunchtime when i went back to collect ds.

G loved it but was a bit wriggly and I had to keep sitting her back on the seat... but it was much easier than carrying her in my arms and she really liked it too.

With her wriggling about it made me wonder how i'd cope with her on it and having to carry a changing bag also with the length of train journey to London from here 2hrs 25mins if i could take the pram it would be handy as she would be able to ride/sleep/have breakfast in it and not be stuck on my lap for the whole journey.

I forgot the one born every min program was on last night... sounds like it was very interesting!

FiByTheIcySea · 10/02/2010 22:53

belgina that's a lovely one... is it your mei one?

FiByTheIcySea · 10/02/2010 22:57

younger i'm just guessing with G's weight & a rough home weigh... you she was originally on the 98th at birth then seems to have settled on the 91st so she's no delicate little flower although not as truly chubbylicious delicious as belginas C

FiByTheIcySea · 10/02/2010 22:59

sorry that should have been... she was originally... not... you she originally!

belgina · 10/02/2010 23:06

fi Yep, it's a mei tai one. It's reversible and the other side is equally beautiful. I shall be wearing it for our meet up! this is also a hip carrier that lets you be handsfree.

Right. Really need to go to bed now. It's late and I still have to put the nappies in the machine.

FiByTheIcySea · 10/02/2010 23:14

ooo i like that tooo! nut like you belgina i must go to bed... ds will be up soon!

FiByTheIcySea · 10/02/2010 23:46

DD1&2 slept through!

still may change rooms but twould be fab if we didn't have to rush it now.

we'll see.
How come I'm still so tired ?
bless them, they get a magazine as a reward, they'll be excited.

Can't believe the snow! it is very pretty though.

belg, looking at your carrier advice with interest but haven't decided yet. would love a Meitai. Fi, 'nut' like you...

Hope all are well.

FiByTheIcySea · 11/02/2010 07:43

yay younger a real nights sleep! that's great DS first got up at 5.45am here.. G was 7ish.. oh for the days DS slept until then.. i should have gone to bed earlier.

belgina · 11/02/2010 07:56

Gosh, Woke up to easily 3 inches of snow! The dcs are hoping for no school today, but so far it looks like it's open. I looked under the S under the list and ds suggested looking under the school's 2nd letter .

OK night here. The standard 2.30 - 5.30-7 wake ups.

Right gotta go and sort the breakfasts now.

essenceofSES · 11/02/2010 08:02

Morning!

younger - great news on the sleep front Why is it thought that when you get a good nights sleep, it makes you exhausted?! I'm sure they'll love getting a magazine and here's to a repeat performance!

O woke about 7am as usual but I heard a funny interference on the monitor. I went in and he'd obviously stood up, reached over the end of the cot and pulled it in to him. He was sat down playing with it!
(Note to self: move mattress down and monitor out of reach!)

We've got the first stage of our extension happening today. Not really directly to do with the building works but just having our gas meter moved as it will be built around otherwise! They need to do some new piping from the road so may take a few days. I'm just hoping that , with this cold weather, we don't need to have our gas turned off v much!

FiByTheIcySea · 11/02/2010 08:26

ses will keep my fingers crossed you stay all snug and cosy even with them doing the work.
thanks dandy i'm used to the same thing here and with the plethora of #23's i think you're right it'll be ok. right off to get shoes on for pre school run.. back later!

HeadlessLadyH · 11/02/2010 08:33

Morning.

SHocking night here. Am a bit grumpy now. All the bliss of the spa day has well and truly vanished.

younger you've had a rough time with your nights recently so yay for a good one!!!

ses hope the build goes well.

belgina snow?? Again????

Am in the middle of trying to get DS1 and his pal/our neighbours boy ready for school. Am just MNing as am about to throttle them both and need to get away from them. They are being absolute terrors this morning and have had it up to here. Roll on 8.50am!!!!

flippinegg · 11/02/2010 08:36

Morning!

younger - yay to fab night! Hope you get many more like it.

belgina - can I have a go with your KinderCarry next week? I'll have A in a wrap of some kind, I don't have anything else now.

ses - hope the gas isn't of for long.

It's very cold here, and we've had snow. We're going to the library for Rhyme Time then off to the soft play place for lunch with friends. It's a bit expensive and the food isn't all that great, but it's a good day out for the girls and I get to have grown up converstions.

belgina · 11/02/2010 09:31

Yes, snow here, again. I think my little corner of the country was supposed to get the worst of it, again. Definitely a good 3-4 inches fallen overnight, but this afternoon it's supposed to stop snowing. I'm not going to swimming lessons with C now, because it's a fairly long drive along country lanes.

flippin Of course you can have a go with my KC.

ses how exciting that the extention is happening. Hope they can do it without switching off your gas.

younger yay about the sleep. I somehow missed that when I read your post earlier.

We've already had an offer on our house. It's been up for sale since mon, just the sign is up, it's not been advertised yet and it's not online yet. That's very very promissing. The offer was way too low at this stage though, but still. The person that put the offer in also knew us apparently. She knew I was a mw. DH was under the impression she knew me better than him. It's made me really curious as to who it was, but the estate agent can't tell us off course.

belgina · 11/02/2010 10:25

Just measured the snow it's 17cm deep and still snowing

FiByTheIcySea · 11/02/2010 10:37

Have fun swimming belgina and good luck with upping the offer on your house! I have been googling mei tai's and there seem to be quite a few different manufacturers. Which one did you get? I like the look of the babyhawk ones and there are a few on ebay atm but i also found funky slings ones gorgeous ones and so many more!

belgina · 11/02/2010 10:48

fi I'm not going swimming. Too much snow to get there! The baby hawk MT's are quite good. They're good 1st MT's and quite pretty. Also easy enough to find 2nd hand or to resell, IYKWIM. I've got my eyes on the Oh Snap version of babyhawk as I'm looking for something with buckles for this sort of weather as I keep getting my straps dirty in mud and rain and snowslush. Or I'm thinking about getting a connecta, which is cheaper I can't make up my mind though. I'm saving up paypal at the moment.

belgina · 11/02/2010 10:54

I forgot to say. I had a funky slings MT as my 1st mt, but it wasn't all that supportive. The Simply MT's have a good name though. If you want to see some really impressive MT's, that you can only get custom made and are fairly difficult to get hold of, have a look at these or this or even this. These women do an amazing job, being creative with fabric customers send in and then basing an applique on the fabric for the reverse side. Truly stunning carriers, but very expensive and only for the dedicated!

FiByTheIcySea · 11/02/2010 11:22

ooo belgina those last ones are truly gorgeous! They have got me itching to have a go and make my own... now that would be a good sewing project to get my teeth stuck into
