Happy 2010 everyone! Cast your mind back to this time last year... [soppy]

Too much wine - excuse for thread title should it be shite rubbish when I read it tomorrow. Thought it was time to wave goodbye to the festive one, although perhaps we should have waited for epiphany?

evening all! not sure if I'll have a chance to catch up as it's been a macca week here.

Dog, really sorry to hear about your Dad. DP and I were in a thai clinic for 7 days with dengue fever and they were fab and completely up to date. I sure your Dad is in fantastic hands.

HZ hope all is well, sorry I haven't been in touch. Sorry to hear Jude's things are suddenly on the horizon. Maybe we can meet for a coffee or something?

For those that want to see larger versions of my watercolours, (including today's final installment!), I've uploaded them here:
120 Watercolour course studies. There are a couple of ones of H in there that I am very proud of!

hackneyzoo · 01/02/2010 21:08

120, love love love th epics of H, they look so like him, you are a v talented lady. Happy birthday for tomorrow by the way! (Saw it on FB!) Coffee sounds good...we are inhosp next monday and tuesday, then again the week after, though not sure of the dates yet...so in between that and work we could fit one in! Might go to B'way market on saturday (if it isn't bloody freezing or raining etc)..or could meet at weekend at some point if you guys are about.

Am so bored this evening....work avoidance, ho hum.

hackneyzoo · 01/02/2010 21:17

120...just realised its not your birthday as saw another fb message! So ignore my greetings!

120 · 01/02/2010 22:10

Thanks HZ!

Lol at the birthday fiasco. Must change it. Just annoyed me that you couldn't join without putting your birthday in so thought I'd fox it. Didn't realise it might annoy my friends (and my brother) too.

We are around at the weekend and nothing major planned so could easily do a market thang.

tinksbabyis1 · 02/02/2010 09:30

hkz, hoping today is going smoothly

tink, snap on the boden front, c is getting some dungarees

small girl tugging my feet - better go

(also, benders in dublin, of course, but don't have room to put everybody up)

PatTheHammer · 02/02/2010 14:52

Right, now i have come home sick from work. DH puking in the night but went to work anyway.

Kids strangely fine, only 24 hrs with dd and completely cured. Z has never been sick in his life and seems immune to this one too so far (touch wood)

Tink- have a nice time at sing and sign

Stripey- Don't want to be the one to mention this but Z has only really had one 'sleep' in the day for a while and DD didn't always need one at all when she was quite small, I still mad her though! Maybe we can put Dublin on the list for next years mass meet-up??

Dog- hoping you get some good news on your dad, don't have any useful advice but thinking of you and your poor mum stuck out there too not really knowing how it works. If you still can do half term then there is a very close Travel lodge to me (eastington) if you didn't want to stay here or if Dp comes. Let me know!

Speaking of meet-ups. Who is still around in half term???? I can now do monday (15th) or Friday(19th) as have family mid-week.

MissJ- What a lovely, lovely video of Nye. I nearly cried, never mind you! Can you still meet up somewhere?
Weekend in Bath sounds fun, I love Bath in our child-free days we often popped down for a weekend [nostalgic]

What about moose and the clan? Not sure what anyone else said (think books was no as no car Lenni busy with family thing)

EPPM- You out there lady?????Can you make a meet???? Are you back at work yet???? drop us a line sometime!

Ray- at weekend in brighton. I am not down south till April now and will miss it as usualli back every few months.

120- love the pics. Don't forget, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey.

Gumps- for AF for you, does sound a bit weird! 4 day weeks are not good, I do 3.4 at moment and it still s far too much!

PatTheHammer · 02/02/2010 14:55

Duh, 3.5, obviously!!!!!!

Hey just noticed this litte dude .

Not sure about confused but he looks like me after a bad day with DD!

moosemama · 02/02/2010 14:58

Hi just a flypast as school run time.

Just wanted to say Dog, hope there is some more positive news about your Dad soon. ((lots more hugs))

I have been for for my first EVER coffee with some other mums from the school and their babies this morning. They have a little girl who is 10 days older than dd and another little girl of nearly 6 months who with both be in the same class as dd at school if we are all still here in a couple of years time. Next time there will be a little boy who has just turned one as well. I was very nervous, but I think it went ok and I didn't do/say anything to embarrass (sp?) myself.

Right, must off, school run time and the heaven's are about to open - again!

tinksbabyis1 · 02/02/2010 17:16

hi stripey,pat and mm

Lenni · 02/02/2010 21:13

Stopping in very quickly as got tonnes of uni work to do and have to be disciplined.

Dog - Really sorry to hear about your Dad, hope you are getting some news through now and your Mum has some support out there. Am sure he will get the best of care and will be home to you soon.

Moose - Wonderful, wonderful news that you have been out with some Mums from school. Go Moose! I totally agree with everything MissJ said the other day too - you need to get this sorted for your own wellbeing now. Go see that homeopath, it can't do any harm if they are reputable. Do you accept CATs Moose?

MissJ - Pics of Nye's party are lovely, he is so grown up and such a cutie.

HKZ - Nice to be thought of - will have to hunt down that Lamb paper, not read it. DO you know what your first assignment topic is?

Stripey - DD dropped her naps altogether at 15mo, I feel your pain. I tried and tried but she just didn't sleep.

Ooooh yay!

Pat - hope you are feeling better soon. I could poss be on for something in half term, family might be coming at the weekend now, but don't bank on me. I can do anywhere anyway as you know as would be en route either direction.

Talking of which - Dog, we are down there from 15th May for a week. Will def come and see you, keep a day free for me that week would'ya?

Evening

Pat, sorry to hear you are poorly. There is a sickness thing doing the rounds at our school at the moment as well. Re the meeting up, the 15th is dh's birthday so no good for me. Could do the 19th in theory, but would need enough notice for dh to book the day off. Where were we thinking of for this meet up?

Lenni - CATs? Nah prefer dogs meself. Sorry, yes I have set myself up for CATs, I think. Have discussed seeing the homeopath with DH, but will have to hang on for the end of Feb when he gets his quarterly bonus. In the meantime, I am trying to help myself more by getting out when I have the opportunity, trying to eat more healthily and checking myself when I am putting everyone else first unnecessarily. I am feeling better so far, lets hope I can keep it up.

Books, check you with your swanky new hardware! Dd seems to be improving. No tears at all today when Mum came to visit (although the boys were home as it was after school). I was able to leave the room to make the coffees and she pretty much played on the floor the whole time. Wooohhooooo!!!

She was also great at the other mum's house this morning. Quite happily cruised around the room taking toys up to the other two mums and chattering away to them. I'm quietly hopeful that we might be coming out of the velcro baby stage.

Another good thing is that my sister is coming to stay for the weekend as dh will be away at his black tie do. I'm hoping that her staying for a couple of days will help get dd used to her, as she is fantastic with and 'usually' universally loved by babies and toddlers.

Glad dd had a nice birthday. Cake photos please!

Grr to absent husbands. Must be something in the air. Dh is off again at the weekend and my DSD just text Mum to tell her he won't be home tomorrow as he has to fly to Germany with work for a few days. (He's never had to go abroad with work before, let alone for several days.)

My poor niece is in a bad way, turns out she had Strep B and that's why she was suffering a lot of low abdo an leg pain and total exhaustion during the later stages of her pregnancy. They completely missed it and kept giving her abs for water infections despite the tests coming back negative. She now has a bad infection in one breast, which was their prior to the birth (poor lass is determined to breastfeed, despite being only 18 and the only one of her friends who is) a uterine infection, infected stitches (episiotomy), Strep Throat and an ear infection and they STILL haven't swabbed the baby (he was born on the 14th)! Despite all that the midwife and hv have been non-existent and her partner is being a complete a*se, refusing to do any housework and won't cook so only buys takeaways which have given the baby colic. My heart goes out to the poor girl. She is such a good loving mum and is so young to be going through all this. I am going to visit on Thursday and will take a box of fruit, some healthy food, vits and minerals, tea tree oil and bath soak and some other goodies for her. Anyone got any other good ideas on what I could take. I'm hoping she'll let me have the baby for a couple of hours while she sleeps, she's exhausted poor thing.

moosemama · 02/02/2010 22:31

at my typing! and not an, there not their and missing question mark after the word take.

elkiedee · 02/02/2010 22:46

Lots of missed Happy Birthdays again, sorry all.

Moose, your poor niece, that's horrible. Hope you're able to help her get through it all.

EachPeachPearMum · 02/02/2010 23:13

Boo!

I'm here, but now I'm back at work, can't seem to fit everything in...

Hope all the babies had lovely first birthdays... just little smiler girl left is it?

DS seemed to celebrate his birthday by going on milk strike he had a lovely day though (we are leaving cake and stuff until weekend as DH and MIL were at work today)

I have read intermittently, so have a vague idea of what is going on. Hope all of you that are struggling (with dipstick DH's, with depression, DC's illnesses- whichever applies!) are getting the support you need.

HKZ- thinking of you and your family. I hope the biopsy gives them exactly the info they need, and they can get on with treating him soon.

Dog- hope your father is being helped, and recovers quickly.

Much love to you all xxx

tinksbabyis1 · 03/02/2010 12:38

afternoon hope all haveing a nice
day

mm - poor niece

hi peach

enjoyed jollybabies

missjackson · 03/02/2010 13:19

Hi eppm nice to hear from you.

Just popping on to say lenni and pat, would love a meet up that week, just let me know when and where. If it's half term then any day is fine for me. I am happy to drive hour/ hour and a half away so wherever suits you. Were we talking about Bristol at some point?

hkz thinking of you xxx
moose yey for coffee with other mums. I always find N is a total star whenever we are outside the house; he is very happy to get on with exploring.
dog hope you have some good news re your Dad.

I have super velcro baby today with a chest infection . He woke up in the night having a proper asthma attack; it was pretty awful. Luckily we had the inhaler left over from last time this happened, and that helped him get his breath back. Off to Docs first thing this morning who has given him antibiotics. Anyway, he is cheery enough but I can't get anything done (a walkie talkie is currently on distraction duty) and I still haven't unpacked from London or cleaned up properly after the party! OH had about 300 emails that I have been helping him wade through. Feels like we are straight back into the fray...

Hope we can arrange a meet up with a few, that would be lovely.

Gumps · 03/02/2010 19:49

Will post first and then catch up.
Busy day at work which was fine but then received a call from my friend. MIL had taken dcs to playgroup where she fed S a milk biscuit saying don't tell his mum and called one of my friends kids a little shit.
Also came home to find that somehow a bottle of red nail polish has been smashed into the bath. No idea how to get it off as nail polish remover not really working and I am worried of taking off the enamel. About to take a photo to show dh so will post on fb. Its horrendous!

Gumps · 03/02/2010 19:54

Happy birthday baby EPPM. MissJ hope N is better soon.
Moose good to hear she is letting you have a bit of space and think build up plan to mothers day is a great idea.

PatTheHammer · 03/02/2010 20:34

at your MIL gumps!!! Have you googled how to get nail polish off??

Happy birthday to baby peach xx lovely to hear from you EPPM, hope work going well.

MissJ- poor N! Must have been scary. What about Bristol Zoo for meet-up? Or we could do the forest of dean again if easier.

Moose, how far Bristol zoo for you?? Your poor niece, a goody basket sounds lush, I took my SIL a lovely Neals Yard goody bag after her awful delivery they have some lovely essential oils and bath foam with added arnica, She loved it! The healthy food sounds great but maybe sneak in a naugthy muffin!!

I would be happy with friday the 19th if thats what everyone else could do. Lenni, you would be welcome to do an overnight at mine on the friday as I don't think dog is staying, she may book a travelodge if she is still coming with her Dp?

Books- for new laptop but boo to DH being away so long, at least you have arranged some company though, that would have been a long time on your own!

I still feel a bit ropey today so came home at lunch and had an hours sleep, seem to have woken up better and feel ok now. Picked DS up from nursery though and he has a temp and is grizzly........................and so it goes on....................

Lenni · 03/02/2010 20:41

I think there is a good chance I could do Bristol Zoo on the 19th - will try and talk to family this week and let you know. Just depends on when they would be planning to visit.

Only stopping in briefly really as got to read stuff tonight for uni - and I've applied for another job today (that job share I mentioned) and have to do an application for something else tonight. It is a depressing and time consuming business.

Ooooooooooooooooooh, and I have to brag, I got an email from someone very, very important today I feel more important than the queen. I have been wandering around grinning from ear to ear all day. Bet you can't guess who it was from. A proper celeb it was

Lenni · 03/02/2010 20:43

Hope N and Z both better soon.

MissJ - Have they definitely called N's chest thing asthma now? D has a post-viral wheeze thing going on and I'm sure he should be being looked at properly for asthma as he gets it after activity too. Hope he is better quickly, is really scary.

missjackson · 03/02/2010 20:46

pat 19th suits me and zoo sounds like fun - will it not be crazily busy if it is half term though?

So I was about to spend a silly amount of money on a links sweetie bracelet with a letter N charm when I saw one on a friend and commented on it, and she told me she had got it from hong kong via ebay for a fiver! posted! I was a bit skeptical, but thought I couldn't lose at that price - anyway, it arrived today and it is gorgeous and heavy and looks like the real thing and I won't mind when I lose it! So I think everyone should treat themselves... Link is here but you just search for links silver bracelet and the letter you want - and go for the 4.99 buy it now option. Just thought I would share... I am off to buy another one now with a P and a heart
