Happy 2010 everyone! Cast your mind back to this time last year... [soppy]

Too much wine - excuse for thread title should it be shite rubbish when I read it tomorrow. Thought it was time to wave goodbye to the festive one, although perhaps we should have waited for epiphany?

HI all. Busy day.

Lenni · 15/01/2010 00:03

Tree - have texted my friend for you, am awaiting reply and then will let you know about sleep clinic. There is an amazing one in Leeds she has so far told me it is things like that that make you realise life is sometimes easier when you actually talk to someone!

Interview was a nightmare but I think it went ok. Find out tomorrow.

And btw - do you like my new name? I had to beg for this on a thread. I now heart HelenMumsnet a lot.

books, I hate it when cars do that.

Lenni, have you heard yet? Why did you have to beg for the name?

sooo tired here, but weirdly two sleeping babies. somehow they were both just knackered and went back to sleep at 9.30am. Very strange, but I sure wasn't going to stop them!

120cms · 15/01/2010 10:37

by the way, those of you who haven't gone and voted for the blog, pleasey pleasey do... I can win um some cereal (and its a matter of pride now too, but I'm at least 30 votes short of the leading candidate). They also have a good spin the bottle game on the site where you can win your own cereal and other goodies. (No, I don't work for them!).

Tree the round up came to my backberry and I was sooooo excited for you and I felt proud that I am in your gang! >
Lenni LOL at you begging for your name back but it feels so right so I am so glad you won. What did you have to do to get it??!!
HKZ I am thinking of you loads. Its about the only thing from MN that I have told DH as it just gets me. Let us know how you are doing and remember you don't have to be strong with us, just unload.
Moose I have completely lost it with ds1 today so feeling your pain. No dh home tonight to cry on so will moan here instead! I got called aside at pre school today as he had pushed other kids and then refused to sit in the circle. He also had a massive tantrum about going to pre school. Then at a friends this avo he pushed another girl over so I said if you do that again we are going home. Right at the end he shoved S to the floor and then had the biggest melt down as I said we were leaving. It lasted until I put a dummy in his mouth after his bath. I am now sat here with a glass of wine recovering. Just so unlike him and it has thrown me as there have been lots of dramas at pre school and I am worried that it is the cause. I wrote a long post about it last week but it got deleted somehow but the gist is he came home crying that others had pushed him and they didn't do any checks on my sister when she picked him up for me. I had a chat the next day and they said you must tell us if someone else is picking him up and I said I did I signed it in the book in the morning. So not only did they not ask my sis for the password his keywrker for some reason didn't know she was collecting him and just let ds1 go with her! Then today when she told me about his behaviour she said so it was him pushing and not the other boys like you said last week. Well I'm sorry but a whole week apart how are they connected? It felt like a tit for tat, you moaned so now I am telling you your son misbehaved. TBH I think the fact that he is playing with 4 yo boys has taught him to push more but the mother in me and the teacher in me are having a big arguement over what kind of parent I am.
God wine makes you ramble sorry!

Gumps · 15/01/2010 19:43

120 voted her too.
Have I mentioned that we are trying to get pregnant?

hackneyzoo · 15/01/2010 19:47

its the freakin' weekend That was such a looong week.

120 did your blog win? i voted I did! Am intrigued...what happened this afternoon?

Moose, your DD and her singing sounds very sweet. Loved that website ytou linked to the other day too, had to exercise a lot of self control when looking.

Tree , hows the sleep going? Sounds like you are the most patient mummy in the world.

Lenni, what was your interview for? Good luck, fingers crossed for you and all that.

Dog, how is the morning sickness and general pregnancy knackeredness?

DS has had a week of waking 2 or 3 times in the night, which has been horrendous rather gruelling, am hoping he settles tonight. Not sure what it is, he seems very very hungry at the moment.

This week has gone really slowly at work and am exhausted...am feeling very pre-menstral...but also have very sore boobs and have been feeling a little bit sick....so am a bit ...there might be some good news around the corner

DD is standing next to me demanding biscuits when she should be in bed, whatever happened to peace and quiet`?

treedelivery · 15/01/2010 19:52

please go wee on a stick right now.

You too Gumps!

Gumps · 15/01/2010 19:52

Oooooohhhh HKZ is there a chance you might be?
S also waking hungry. Moose are we in a growth spurt phase?

treedelivery · 15/01/2010 19:53
hackneyzoo · 15/01/2010 19:54

Gumps, just x posted with you. Thanks for your kind thoughts, hopefully we will see Drs again next week and get things started, also have an appointment on thurs to see nutritionist and OT, so things are starting to happen. Feel sort of calm before the storm, especially when I look at DS and he is so sweet and oblivious to it all.
Sorry DS1 is having a bad day. DD is sitting here whining at my feet when she should be in bed. DH said she has prettymuch whines since lunch. The meltdowns are hard to deal with. I was hoping DD was growing out of them before Christmas as she is now 2.9 months, but they have started up again. Your nursery worker sounds a bit offhand/dismissive, sounds a bit that she relates one incident that happened a week ago to one that happened today.

Right, must tune into eastenders to see who got the Vic...[sad no life emoticon]

Gumps · 15/01/2010 19:54

Too early Tree but took all my will power not to buy a test today when I walked past the chemist.
Each day to dh I say I think i'm pregnant or oh no I don't feel pregnant today. According to mn cycle thing my period is due on the 18th so we shall see.... dh will be gutted if it happens first month of trying again!

hackneyzoo · 15/01/2010 19:56

Ohhh, Gumps...you too? AF not due til tomorrow...but there is definitely a chance as have been pretty useless about contraception and have had a few festive evenings over the last month

Gumps · 15/01/2010 19:57

Thanks HKZ. I am trying to be rational about it and think I hate it when as a teacher parents say to me oh thats so not like my child, but it really isn't! The other orry is he will wake up with some horrible illness tomorrow as he is always a pig the day or so before he gets ill and then I feel like the worst mother ever as I have shouted at him.
God have drunk half a glass of wine and head is spinning not good!

Gumps · 15/01/2010 19:57

AF?

treedelivery · 15/01/2010 20:38

Eye watering giggles here at dd2 stood trying to figure out what to do about some sticky paper stuck to her foot.

Lots of sticking fat little foot in air and looking at me, then foot, then giggling, then bending over to touch foot, then rubbing foot on flor, then waving foot in air......

Could watch her for hours

AF is period I think, but I don't know what it means!?

I picked up AF from MN...aunty flo...period...get me with my internet acronyms.

Gumps, don't beat yourself up, I have been a very shouty mummy of late, and it does make me feel awful. My only consolation is I normally shout at L mid tantrum, so pretty sure she is oblivious to my ranting. You are the person who knows your child best, so you can give the nursery the clearer picture. DD is quite muddled when she tells me about happening at nursery, she will come out with 'Fred hit me, he was crying' then two minutes later will inform me that she pushed Fred so am always a bit as to what goes on. Toddler behaviour is a mystery to me, maybe speak to someone else at the nursery and say that DS doesn't seem himself and ask them firmly to keep an eye on things. I don't know, its hard when you are a teacher so you see it fromboth sides IYSWIM.
