I am so blessed to be part of this group. We are starting another year together, our 3rd but who's counting. May you each have a happy and healthy one. I look forward to more meetups, more FBing, more Skyping, more Waving, more crazy tales, more laughter, more hand holding, and more support than is humanly possible! XOX

no1 sorry to hear that. I know that often when one of us is absent from the thread for a while it's because there's some big life stuff occupying her thoughts, so you've been in my mind the last week or two. You know we're all here if you need us to bounce off or just for distraction Maybe once the weather lets up we should arrange another Northern meet? x

dizzydixies · 10/01/2010 19:28

No1 sorry to hear about your thoughts and worries. As cyteen says, we're all here if you need soundboard, room to rant/vent etc - no judgement etc etc and some more than others on hand with excellent advice - I on the other hand can provide fantastic swear words/threats of violence and cakeage

I've just shouted at DD1 and told DD2 she's not having a bath - no mother of the year award for me

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/01/2010 19:42

No1 sorry to hear how you are feeling. Thanks for asking DD's bottom is much better but her thighs are still suffering as it is where her nappy and clothes chafe but loads of metanium/sudocreme and other magic lotions at every change are helping.

We had a lovely conversation at bedtime -
'Mummy, glasses pretty.'
'Thankyou my pretty one'
'yes, Paya pretty'
'I love you sweetheart'
'yes Paya weetart'
'bedtime cheeky'
'oki mummy, see later'
and she went to bed with a smile. [sob] my baby is growing up [sob]

Dizzy - you have so much on your plate right now cut yourself some slack, the girls will be fine. Once they are in bed have a nice glass of wine cuppa and a choccie health snack

GladioliBuckets · 10/01/2010 19:54

Aaaaaaaaah that is so cute. God I can't wait to converse with Kurt. And do slightly sick Sharpay & Ryan song and dance routines together.

Cyteen There was an article in yesterdays' Guardian about house-sitting and I was thinking 'if only there were just the 3 of us...' Have a look here I say definitely have your adventure while you only have one LO and no school to worry about. Friend of a friend has come back from 9months travelling with her family and their school refused to hold their places.

oops I can make you something similar - though only because I know you and you asked so nicely! Tis very naughty to rip off do copies of other crafters things and muchly frowned upon - so don't grass me up to the craft police!

I've got lots of this fabric that I could use and you could have a contrast in pink, red, green or white - but it will probably be plain not spotty as that would be easier to find.

Dizzy - I actually thought £24 was about right. It probably takes a half hour to cut out and two hours to sew, fabric at least a metre - maybe one and half.

So maximum £5 for materials, what is the min wage £6 per hour, so there you are already at £20 factor in time spent promoting the business and a % for profit and £24 not that bad.

Compared to high street you are getting something unique, original and handmade.

That said I am terrible for Gap sales

As far as I am concerned - stripes and babies are like chocolate and more chocolate - made for each other

Cyteen travel now while DS is still pretty portable and there are only 3 of you still.

No1 chin up lovely.

Sorry not to write more or reply beyond basic sentiments I mean to get some sewing done tonight.

steaknife · 10/01/2010 20:03

wotcha Sazz glad you had a lovely weekend, you deserve them treats lady.
As do we all!

Steaky - That would be fab - i love the fabric and not fussed by spots I just loved the dress. I will give you a yell once we are back from hols to organise if that's okay?

dizzydixies · 10/01/2010 20:15

sorry steaky - I suppose I'm used to Tesco/Asda prices

Sazz the no bath decision came from the fact I'd need to clear out the bath of all the toys to get them in and DD2's swimming starts tomorrow so whats the fecking point of a bath tonight?

all in bed now and I'm having a massive bowl of risotto - not starting on the wine as I'd have a whole bottle and I've a funding meeting in the morning

sorry for being a whingy git - lets do something more productive like planning cyteen's world tour!!

cyteen I'm sure we've all got relatives all over the place who have spare rooms

which reminds me, be right back once I've googled something

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/01/2010 20:18

Cyteen - I have family in SA, and Dh has very welocoming ones in Oz, TS is in the US, LWFH in South America, Singporesling in Singapore - see around the world already!

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/01/2010 20:20

Dizz - I wish I could come and help you out. You don't fancy a trip to Sunny Wiltshire at Easter do you? DH away to NI with work and Sazzles just down the road you and the girls can come here and have a holiday

dizzydixies · 10/01/2010 20:21

remember I touched on how the other half live? this is where my uncle spent Christmas and NY looking at possibly buying an apartment/residence here

cyteen - I think we could cover Ireland (north of course, VG and Red could do south) Spain, Dubai and NZ oh oh and Scotland - the pinnacle of the world tour

pertelote · 10/01/2010 20:48

Evening lovely ladies. No1 and Dizzy so sorry you're both stressed. Hope this coming week brings some relief.

Cyteen travelling is a fab idea (though I'm much too chicken myself). One of my NCT peers just moved to NZ, taking her 16 mth old round SE Asia for a month on the way - they had a fantastic time and I'm sure would be happy to chat if that's an area you're interested in.

Spent today at my cousin's baby's christening - really fun and DD thoroughly worn out after hours of chasing other toddlers round the church hall. Good job too because I'm knackered and due back at work tomorrow - protracted bedtime was the last thing I wanted. Have I said that she's on a milk-guzzling streak ATM? My nipples are killing me

poppysocks · 10/01/2010 20:49

Evening Ladies.

So sorry to hear things aren't good no1. Hope things improve soon. In the meantime, don't stay away. Sorry your day has been crap too dizzy.

I too saw that article in the Guardian yesterday buckets and had many a whistful thought. Go cyteen go (but tell us all about it so that we can live vicariously ).

Well there you go Cyteen, it's decided.

Dizzy Talk about opting out of real life eh? Would be like living in a doll's house.

No1 A rare ((hug)) from me to you.

Now, I'm off to tiptoe past DH doing tai chi to get some cheap biere blonde out of the fridge. Silently and stealthily. Night all.

springaporesling · 11/01/2010 02:29

Cyteen I say go too. am sitting by the pool in Hoi An whilst ds asleep. And have to say that our mini travels with ds have been pretty easy so far in south east Asia. Can give you advice on quite a few places and you're more than welcome to stay with us.

No1 and Dizzy hugs to you both.

Oops would recommend sticker books for the flight. DS loving them at the moment. Also I pack a zip lock bag with stuff I need for each nappy change then you can just whip one out and head to the bathroom. Are you getting a basinette? Even if P doesn't fit worth ferrying for extra storage. Should have thought earlier about the maternity clothes as all mine are summer ones so could have sent you some.

Sazzles belated happy birthday!

springaporesling · 11/01/2010 02:31

Sorry about typos am posting from iPhone - christmas present from dh that I haven't got to grips with yet!

Morning all

No chance for chatter last night as I was busy reorganising toys in an attempt to make the house look a bit nicer. It was great when I went to bed but already a bombsite again today .

From what I can remember...

Cyteen go!!!!!

Dizzy . Where did I go wrong in my life that I will never be able to afford even a holiday weekend on that boat...

No1 oh matey . I hope you can get through this tricky time. I have been going through a difficult patch with DH (although he seems oblivious to my plight ) obviously there is a problem there but I think it is about 90% tiredness

Grim day here but thankfully the thaw has started.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/01/2010 09:56

Morning all. You are all so very kind and supportive.
In fact you have all been more of a support and lifeline to me than you all probably realise.

I am feeling very emotional reading all your kind words.

When I have worked out what exactly it is that is bugging me or at least how to put it into words I will 'say' it here.

It is very difficult, as although I have a huge family and they would all be more than willing to listen to my gossip worries. Family are biased and would always take my side. My dad is great as he does not judge, just listens. My mum, well pretty sure she does not like my dh that much.(or at least thinks he is the wrong choice for me and that she thinks in a round about way he is controling)
but as Hotter has said. I am sure it is just general exhaustion tiredness that makes everything seem much worse.

sorry very me me me

ds has just walking around with a glittery silver bag (containgin dds crayons) on the crook of his arm.
So funny to see him mincing walking about. Xmas Grin
buckets he is such a dancer, and I bet he will love HSM Xmas Grin

In fact theya re both hooked on Mama Mia atm. we watched it back to back 3 times the other day.

ds instantly sings 'manamanama' or such like, when he hears the music to 'money money money'.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/01/2010 09:58

Shit loads of snow here still, and been snowing none stop since I got up just before 7.

luckoftheirish · 11/01/2010 10:31

we had another bit of snow last night.. nothing massive just very annoying...

GO Cyteen ...

hugs for u too dizzy...

well there was no snow at the party either on the way there, overnight or the way home.. .. so WE missed a perfectly good night out.. dh didn't go!!!! he felt too sorry for me .. so massive appologies to him for rant about him ...

horriblt grey outside and i feel really queasy.. not sure why but just enough to annoy the hell out of me!!!!
