Oi Ronshar - I already said that we were going out today, so I wasn't ignoring you!
But you are to some extent digging yourself a bigger hole. When I joined slimming world a few years back I weighed nearly 19 stone , and I am well, well, well over being just a couple of stone overweight. I would be happy losing 5-6 stone, though I could stand to lose 7 or more and still be well into a normal weight range. Perhaps I wear it well .

50ft - you do know that 15th/16th Feb isn't a weekend don't you? I am hoping that you are free on 14th to bring your ds to dd's birthday party!

I will check the fb thread shortly (as long as ds stays asleep in car), but should be able to make 17th.

Healing vibes to all you poorly peeps.

I might make a new years resolution to organise a cleaner .

Grrr - this message won't post!

50ftChristmasTree · 29/12/2009 16:37

Yes CSWS, I am aware that the 15th/16th are a Monday and Tuesday. It is also half term that week. DH says, if we are coming to you on the 14th, is he to expect a Valentine's gift?

OP posts:
StarExpat · 29/12/2009 19:34

Yay! We're going to Ronshar's I wish we had more space so we could have people come to us. Maybe I'll bring a yummy very sweet naughty dessert and some wine to make up for it
And I might like to clean but I promise I'm not rude. I was brought up with good manners - so I won't notice anything out of order in your home! I will just appreciate that we've been invited Please don't clean on our account!!

So, I've been more relaxed about Q's eating past 2 days and just not pushing food on him, but letting him survive on wheats (not shreddies!!!) and raisins or cheerios (ugh) and toast. Well, we were visiting friends today in Harrow and he ate a big piece of veg lasagne! Also, broccoli, lentil soup, and normal stuff like fresh fruit and beans. Thank god. I guess babies just know what they need sometimes

Ronshar - will W not fall out of a bed? I get tired of hearing Q knock into the bars, too, but then I wonder if the bars weren't there wouldn't he just be falling on the ground all night? When I've had him in bed with me for a couple hours in the morning the past few weeks, he's fallen out twice just from rolling over and tossing about like he does in his cot. DH suggested we turn the cot into a bed, too (it's a cotbed)but I'm also worried that if we do that, he'll never stay. The cot keeps him there... but I guess with W that's different because he can escape!

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/12/2009 19:45

Ooh, I shall have a very nice dream tonight about what I could give him for Valentines' 50ft .

star - am and that you consider cheerios ok but not shreddies - they are FAR worse!!!

Do let us know how you get on with W in a bed ronshar. I find it quite difficult lowering ds into his cot already, and it's going to get much much harder as I start getting a bump, so it would be great to convert his cot to a bed too. Star - you can get bedguards to go on the side which help to stop them falling out, and with dd we put a stairgate on her door to stop her from getting out of her room!

StarExpat · 29/12/2009 19:47

I know csws he didn't get the cheerios from us!
I bet W could climb over a stairgate. We would have trouble safely containing Q without the cot.

ronshar · 29/12/2009 19:50

Star I have a side thingy which I have used for the girls as well. So far it has done the trick. No major fall outs.
W seems to have taken to his new bed very well. He got in and refused to get out again!
I sat in with him just in case but he didnt move. First night lucky. I am sure that tomorrow will be a whole different kettle of fish.

CSWS. I really dont think of you as being anywhere near as big as you seem to think you are.

So is the 16th a date then ladies? Excellent.
Let the cleaning commence.

Is it half term as well? I really need to get down the shops and get my 2010 diary in my book

DH is in the kitchen cooking turkey curry. That will be Turkey noodle soup, Turkey Stew, Turkey sandwhiches.

pepperrabbit · 29/12/2009 19:57

DH cooked 36 mince pies yesterday, with the "spare" mincemeat.
DH and the word "moderation" are rarely uttered together when it comes to catering!

StarExpat · 29/12/2009 19:59

how do you make mincemeat?

StarExpat · 29/12/2009 20:00

Is the 16th a sunday? I forgot to say that sundays are better for me. But I can duck out of this one if it's not.

StarExpat · 29/12/2009 20:02

bow out, not duck out. Sorry

pepperrabbit · 29/12/2009 20:06

It involved 7 kilos of sultanas star. I think that's all any woman needs to know!
Can I be really thick?
The meet -up at Ronshars - is it Jan or Feb 17th? Cos Feb is half term (I think?), but Jan 17th is a weekend....

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/12/2009 20:14

It's Jan 17th (not 16th ronshar - where did that come from?!), which is a Sunday.
The half term convo was about 50ft bringing her ds to my dd's birthday party in Feb.

50ftChristmasTree · 29/12/2009 20:16

It got a bit confusing because I started talking about February when everyone else was talking about January. Ronshar's meet-up is the 17th, February is half-term.

OP posts:
StarExpat · 29/12/2009 20:47

Ok cool, 17th january. Come on, 50ft, go see hte family another time

jenwa · 29/12/2009 21:22

he he with the cleaning ronshar I am the same as star I would be grateful to come and I dont notice other peoples mess unless it really mings
I will see how far it is and have a think. Is hm coming?

jenwa · 29/12/2009 21:28

oh bum... I have looked on the map and it is rather far for the day! Doh, I may not make it then!

Awww pistachio - I wish you could make a meet up.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/12/2009 09:01

Blimey where is everyone?!

Got another mner coming today (do any of you know mustrunmore?), and going to try making those sweet potato falafels for lunch as she's a veggie .

aubergenie · 30/12/2009 09:16

Just marking my place as we've got visitors - DP's brother and his wife are here on their way back from their honeymoon in Costa Rica. It sounds lovely.

How is N today Myjob?

50ftChristmasTree · 30/12/2009 10:10

Morning. M slept until 9 this morning because she was tucked up with me. I have no idea how we are ever going to get that girl to sleep through the night! Before anyone suggests it, we tried all the usual things but she just screamed more and more. And you've not heard anything until you've heard M scream!

You know we all say that breast-fed babies don't over-eat....... How about with food they really really love? this morning I made scrambled egg for me and M, I used 4 eggs & M ate about 2/3 of the result! She ate more than me and then wanted more. She has put on weight, it is easy to see as she is much rounder so maybe eggs contain some of the fat she isn't getting from dairy (she can't seem to tolerate any dairy anymore, not even cheese).

CSWS - I have heard of mustrunmore because whenever I see her posts always think - me too! Have a lovely day.

Aubergenie - Have a lovely day with DP's family. Have you got a significant anniversary coming up with DP? You could suggest that as you haven't got married & haven't had a honeymoon, maybe you should have a celebratory holiday somewhere delicious! Or you could be brave and get married so you can have the fabulous honeymoon.....

I think I might change out of my Christmas dress now. It's feeling a bit snug after all these treats.....

Between Christmas and New Year Myjob. I don't feel ready to abandon the festive name yet as it's not 12th night yet, but Christmas seems a long time ago now! I would say give yourself a break from the running, although I have heard that if you're only ill above the neck then you can carry on exercising. So depends on what is ailing you. If your sinuses are troubling you again, then definitely DON'T run, it will make you feel terrible, especially in the cold.
