I think I can do 24th. Well, actually we've got no plans for January but whether I come depends on whether I can persuade DP to come and help me with the driving as it's a couple of hours each way. He probably wouldn't come for the actual meet-up as he's really shy, but I'm wondering if there's something else he could do in the area. So go ahead and plan without me and I'll let you know.

We were in the carpark this afternoon and Q was running right around me. It was fairly empty of people and no cars moving about at the time and we were at the very end where no cars would come anyway as there was no exit or entrance by where we parked. But the second I took my eyes off him to fold the pushchair, he shot around the back of the car, I dropped the pushchair and chased him and he disappeared around the side of the car running down the length of it. It took what seemed like ages for me to get around to that side of hte car (but it was probably like 2 seconds!!) and I saw him and grabbed him and strapped him in his carseat. Just losing sight of him for that second in time stopped my heart. I know I shouldn't have let him run around at all and never will again but for some stupid reason I thought he'd stay right by me or I'd grab his arm if he tried to stray. The moment I tried to fold the pushchair he was OFF.
Anyway, was just reading this post and feeling very silly indeed for being so worried about a few seconds. I think I'm going to keep him on a harness!!!

sorry to hear that myjob. Some months are just busier than others. Don't feel badly about that! You are just more social and popular than some of us (me). Why don't we keep it on a sunday, but since myjob can't come after all, why don't we move it to the week before or after so 50ft can come after all? It's not my house, so I have no say. Just trying to help...

That does sound small, Star. We're lucky enough to have room for a table in the kitchen and can seat 4 plus S in his chair, but I'd love for S to have a bedroom where we can shove his stuff. He doesn't care of course, - we just want things to be tidier.

We had another settling in session at the childminder. I went off to the shops and left S for an hour and it didn't go that well. He was OK to start with, after a little cry when I left, but after about 40 minutes he was inconsolable. Those of you who are at work with LOs in childcare, how long did it take for them to settle in?

We don't even have space for a table. We eat on the sofa and Q eats in his highchair or all around the coffee table. I want to move but I do love our flat - we have a lovely garage across the street which has been a godsend for so many reasons and a little nice fenced in garden (small, but enough space). I'd really like space for a table in a new place.

We were thinking of selling and buying somewhere else, but the thing that's stopping us is that we live right near the Olympic site, which is being completely redeveloped at the moment, complete with a massive Westfield shopping centre (like the one in Shepherds Bush), and the whole area will be transformed. Seems like it might be worth hanging on for a couple of years. Although there may well be a glut of property and it'll be difficult to shift. Who knows?

Part of me just wants to get rid of this place and hand the responsibility on to someone else, there are so many things that keep going wrong/need doing to it.

It is, but you just pay someone to do it for you. I looked online and found a reasonable quote for someone to do that with conveyancing pretty cheaply... hopefully we can arrange something like that. What a pain! I considered renting this one out and renting another but rental prices are so much higher than mortgage payments at the moment that we wouldn't break even if we were renting a bigger place and all the maintenance and having to be responsible for any expenses from renters to do with heating, water, leaks...etc. Just can't face all that, so we have to sell.

It is a squeeze isn't it Star. They need so little stuff when they're babies, that it didn't seem to be a problem for us but now, it's all those toys that seem to multiply!

We're planning to move this year too. We'll probably rent a bigger place and rent our flat out, so we've got to do loads of things to get it ready to rent out. Ugh. Is that HIP thing a lot of work?

I can't imagine 3! I'm struggling to cope with 1 child in a 1 bed flat with only a living room and kitchen, no dining room, playroom, baby room... but he's happy

we really need to move, 3 kids in a 2 bed house would kill me, i have no idea where to put them all! i also want a dining room (which we don't have here,only a living room and the kitchen) so we can have a play room for the kids. (and a cellar so i can lock them away for doing my head in )

I don't want to go back to work, either I know it's not as big of a deal but I want to stay home with Q longer. Only 4 weeks until he's home for 2 weeks again for my and DH's feb half terms But it seems like forever away!

Ok, I'm not going to worry over the nuts. I'll confess now, Q has had loads of stuff with chopped nuts in it . The crunchy peanut butter was an accidental buy but now we get it all the time because he really likes it. Especially if the item is cooked, like breads with nuts in them, they must get a bit softer? Not sure.

Wow heather, a move as well! We really want to move, too, but it's not happening until we get our home on the market. This stupid portfolio thing that you have to have for your home before selling it is a bit of a hurdle for us first... the HIP is it called? ugh.
