Myjob. There is no reason why you should bow out! I've been to more meet-ups than you. I am sure everyone would rather see you than me AGAIN!

Evening all. I had a read of that thread Star, and I thought that woman sounded a bit mad with her views on the deserving and undeserving poor. And teachers. I though that was a odd target to choose. It's not like we're paid like bankers. She really needs to get another job.

I agree that working in the public sector shows you the worst of people. One of my friends worked in a hospital sexual health climic, and she said that they got blokes literally doing drugs deals in the waiting room and being really abusive and violent to the staff, but they knew that if they refused to treat them they'd have 5 women in the following week needing to be treated for STDs. FWIW I think the NHS, with all its (many) faults is a brilliant thing and I'd happily pay more tax to improve it, along with the schools. But I know a lot of people don't feel like that.

Glad to hear dd is better now Pepper.

And you're all welcome about the SS. I really enjoyed reading about your presents.

50ftChristmasTree · 28/12/2009 22:25

Ronshar - DH has asked if we can come a visit in April when his alcohol ban is finished?

Myjob - We'll see. If everyone suddenly decides they can only do the 17th we'll know...... Seriously though, surely it will depend on when everyone else goes. If everyone can make the 17th it would be silly to change that for me. I'll get the Oct 08 ladies to meet me at BW again in the spring!

Jenwa - Oh how annoying about having to take an item back. I knew you were the nutter one who got up at the crack of dawn to go Next sale trawling!

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/12/2009 22:31

I can do any Sunday in Jan as long as it's in my diary soon!

What alcohol ban 50ft?

50ftChristmasTree · 28/12/2009 23:04

DH is putting himself on an alcohol ban from the 5th Jan (it was meant to be from the 4th but his mate could only see him on the 4th) and I am on a self-imposed shopping ban (well, I say self-imposed....), until the 1st April. M shouldn't need anything before then and nor should DS, but if they need something DH will buy it. So I plan to spend every evening getting plastered until April!

Oh myjob Sorry for the difficult night. I hope it improved for you and N.

aubergenie - I loved the one poster's comment about her thinking teaching is such a gravy train! lol!

50ft so are those New Years resolutions? Very brave ones!! I don't have one yet. Will have to think...

Jenwa - nice to "see" you! Glad Christmas was enjoyable and the next sale

I can do any weekend in Jan at the moment, better to schedule a date sooner rather than later though

jenwa · 29/12/2009 08:32

50ft yes I am a nutter I know but they are fab bargains Anyway, going back today so may even pick up afew more

myjob ah poor N, is it just sick? maybe something she ate? Hope she gets better soon. I imagine you will be having a washing day then

Where are you all planning on meeting in Jan then? I may come along.

star "hello". I have no resolutions yet, maybe less cleaning???!!! it wont last so really cant do that hehe!

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/12/2009 08:42

Oh poor N - how is she this morning?

Brighton jenwa.

Off to a kids b'day party today.

50ftChristmasTree · 29/12/2009 09:24

Star - They're not resolutions as such just an attempt to get back on track after an expensive Christmas! I am making resolutions but I need to nail down exactly which ones of the hundreds loads I've mentioned to DH. He keeps trying to add ones for us both though! I usually make a couple but end up only keeping one.

Jenwa - I used to do my Next sale shopping online but I've not bothered this year. I have NO money otherwise I'd be off to Monsoon. I find their sales good too!

Myjob - Oh poor N but more importantly poor you! I hope it is something she ate rather than a bug. But I am very of the other bug you're getting. Maybe I need one more night nappy.....

CSWS I woke in the night worried that you would think I was talking about you. NOT AT ALL. I mean 20 stone fatties. You know the ones, it is the man like 50ft was talking about. It is the person who needs 2 seats on the train/plane, it is the person who needs a bed specially made for them which can cost the NHS up to 20,000 a time. It is not someone who is only a couple of stone over the accepted norm.

Myjob. How is N this morning? Better?
If you and your DH want to visit the mad house on the 17th then please do come over. I would love to see you all again. If 50ft wants to go somewhere else then so be it

50ft. It is always best to come to my house and drink. That way it doesnt seem so crazy with all the children underfoot

Jenwa I have opened up the doors of bungalow Ronshar. I have posted my address on the Secret Santa Facebook thread. Everyone is welcome.

Shall we say the 17th for def and another day aswell? How about the day before?

50ftChristmasTree · 29/12/2009 10:07

OI!!!!!! I was actually think about blowing my family out to see you guys as I can see my family any time.

Actually I can't blow them out as they are coming to my mum's to save us taking the kids too far. That would be mean. It is also the only weekend my brother is around until the end of April.

Hang on, are you suggesting the 16th & the 17th or the 10th and the 17th? On a Sunday DS has a football match but that is usually in the morning. He can't miss another one as he will be missing a match to visit CSWS's DD.

50ft I dont mind. We dont have much on in Jan.
Lets get some dates sorted out and then I will know exactly when I have to start cleaning. I will need probably a minimum of a weeks notice so I can clean all the bits I dont normally bother but jenwa and Star will notice as soon as they walk down the drive & the garden in case Aubergenie comes too!
I have just remembered that DD1 is away that weekend (17th)on brownie camp. But it will give DH the excuse he needs to escape a house full of women and babies He doesnt do well in crowds. He is very shy but give him a few drinks and he loosens up nicely

Myjob you have not caused problems at all. You picked a definite date and have clearly stated your intentions. I do not have a problem with that. It is the social butterflies amoung us that have issues. (with the skirt flouncing)

Poor N. Is she full of this horrible cold and retching on the gunk stuff? At least she was able to tolerate fluids this morning. Just Keep offering water to her at least every 15-30 mins and see how she gets on.
Look on the bright side, you are small enough to fit in a toddler bed. I know I am not

CSWS are you not talking to me now?. I am putting on my best attempt at the "Puss in Boots" face from Shrek.

Oh my lord. DD1 has just walked in and said that in her head I will always be just a housemaid.
Bollocks. So much for my feminist views. I am obviously more of a doormatt than I realised.

Oh myjob. I wish I lived closer to you. I would come and pat you gently on the shoulder while telling you to buck up love
It is horrible when everyone is poorly. You have my every sympathy. We are still the house of quarantine. Poor DD1 has eyes like a panda. Broken sleep and a very bad snot problem. So I shall ignore the housemaid comment for now. But when she & I are better she will be getting a list of chores stapled to her forehead. Hahaha evil mummy.
H pulled the usual I'm bored, I've got nothing to do stunt. Until I reminded her that it was Christmas and she hasnt even taken most of her toys out of the boxes yet

Lunch time already.

I am going to move W into his big bed today. I have had enough of bending into his cot and also listening to him wake himself up at night by crashing into the bars everytime he moves!
Not sure if this is brave or stupid.

Ronshar - Glad you're going to be giving DD1 some chores. That is exactly what I would do too. She obviously needs to learn to appriciate her mother. Oh and I am hardly a social butterfly. I think that for the whole year I have two things booked thus far. One, the 17th and the other the 15th/16th Feb when I have a very lovely family coming to visit (and it's my birthday). Good luck with the bed move. The thing I remember about moving DS into a bed (at 30 months!) was the early morning visits. I used to dread it: 5am

Awww Myjob - You've not caused problems. I was just showing off for attention! Would a nice warm bath help with the hips? Maybe DH could take over with the DC when he's home so you can have a soak. Mmmmm.... lovely.
