120cm, do you know the Ravelry website? Lots of links to patterns online there. I love the idea of knitting but have only managed to produce a very small simple scarf, I should have at least carried on knitting it to a much longer length.

120cmsOfSnow · 15/12/2009 11:22

tree, link is babymassageposter.com. Wool is 98%, its stylecraft alpine chunky in storm cloud and I have 5 balls of it (apart from a little bit that I used to do a 7x11 test square which convinced me it was not my bag. Its still attached to the ball so could easily unravel it. On the car seat front, have you tried putting it in the front seat next to you when driving? worked a treat for me, just disabled the airbag and then could sing/hold hands at strategic points. hope it goes ok.

Lol dog. I always claimed that it was a reflex activity when I was really drunk a bit like managing to find your wallet to buy more drinks, but not your keys to get in the front door (thats a learned behaviour). Hope you can get him to see it was just a drunken caper like in our yoof. . I'm really sorry but I keep chuckling about it as I now know I am not alone .

Elkie, thats a fab site, thank you! There are loads of knitting groups round here, including one where you can take the bubs.

Its odd isn't it? When I used to do it, it was all about flirting too; a sort of extended teenage kiss chase, without really being about taking it any further. I think the boys find that hard to understand as they would find it hard not to go further, generally.

I find cold bananas straight from the fridge fantastic for hangovers. I used to have a whole kit of alka seltzer / chicken noodle soup / bananas / hot milk ready for me after a night out. For some reason I can't drink water when hungover, it makes me sick . And also seem to crave chinese food on hangover days, especially sweet and sour chicken . The sick feeling and pounding headache are bad enough, but its the paranoia I can't cope with anymore!

Hello, thanks for the best wishes, unfortunately i still feel like shite.

Trying to have a productive day off and off to put some xmas tunes on in a mo in the hope it will entice me into doing some wrapping up.

120- I too used to have a hangover kit (chinese food, flat diet coke, alka-seltzer, salt and vinegar square crisps and fried-egg sandwich).... what is with the hot milk though? sorry, can't stand milk at the best of times! Am hoping mine may be needed on sunday as DH's grand xmas do on saturday and .........the dress fits! Woo-hoo! unfortunatley a certain young man is accompanying us to the 5-star hotel as is still very much attached to mummy at night, still he will enjoy the rather scrumptious breakfast the next morning I'm sure.

PMSL- at tree and the LeCruset pan!! I have to say I am with you on that tree, DH gave up any sort of snog-pass a long time ago

Oh, anyone like a look at this, my gorgeous babies!! bare in mind that me, DH and DS were all poorly, still DD looks full of beans!

PatTheHammer · 15/12/2009 13:09

BTW, I will get rid of that link for security reasons when some of yoy have had a look ( just in case moose comes along to make me all paranoid!!!)

PatTheHammer · 15/12/2009 13:10

you........excuse the poor flu-addled brain

120cmsOfSnow · 15/12/2009 13:10

love the photos Pat. Z looks really big! Yes, when I order warm milk everyone goes a bit weird... dunno, just works for me. How could I have forgotton to list the coke?

Fab news on the walking books.

Am meant to be doing a thousand things as the babies break up for Christmas today...

missjackson · 15/12/2009 14:44

Amazing photos pat... talking of moose, where is she? Mooooooooooose?
Z looks soooo scrummy. at him accompanying you to the hotel. N would have to come too. Hope you enjoy your day off and get lots done.

Lenni No, No, No. Practice saying it. Smile, and say no. I've got more selfish since I've had N - always seemed to be running around for other people, but now I am all about the three of us and no-one else. My extended family can be v demanding! So feels good to have a clear priority now, and makes it easy to say No. A baby- the ultimate excuse .

120 warm milk = just weird. Poster site didn't have a picture of the poster? Unless it was me being dim. That's great though. Would love to see it.

books yey for walking!

dog sweet that DP is being so nice - enjoy it!

Waves to everyone else.

When is Feb halfterm? Can we have another meet-up? I know you are all too busy thinking about Xmas... but I miss you!

Work is good - am dreading 14 hr days when they start in Jan though. Only have about 3 days off. Thinking about holiday first week of Feb though - skiing, or sun? Downside of skiing is that I wouldn't see N for most of the day. Downside of sun is long flight I suppose to get anywhere decent. Any thoughts?

missjackson · 15/12/2009 14:49

Oops, missed page before last one ... hkz poor J, I hope he feels all better now. I hate that feeling of being able to do nothing when you know they are poorly... tree hope the journey goes well, would be great if you can get the seat in the front for a long trip like that. Do you have nice CDs with baby music? I have a few of the putamayo kids world music ones - they chill N right out and I love them too. I could copy for you if you like? for J, and hope school gets better for her soon; she looks like such a sweetie.

tink sounds like the ADs are making you feel tired - hope they level out soon.

Just a quickie to say 120 - wouldn't bother with Debbie Bliss wool. It pills really badly and isn't all that great to knit with esp for a beginner as can be knotty and uneven - not worth the money. I know of a good brand you can sub Debbie Bliss with but will have to go and look it up in my book so will tell you later. I often like stylecraft wools - will have a look and see if there is anything I could use yours for if Tree isn't interested.

(Please everyone else ignore me sounding like an old biddy )

120cmsOfSnow · 15/12/2009 19:29

Thanks Lenni, will hold off and wait for your wool bible's response. It was you who was also being laughed at for knitting, methinks.

Just checking tinks

miss J, there is a section of the poster on the 'about the poster' page, but can't do the whole thing for copywright reasons. Was pondering doing a 'taster' free small downloadable one so people could try before they buy, but have had no time!

Very excited as babysitter is here and we are going out for dinner sans enfants. Yippee! night all x

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 15/12/2009 20:04

right DD was just really upset and sat up in bed crying, when I went in she was saying 'I just can't do this anymore......'.

She sounded so world-weary bless her for a 3yr old that I couldn't help but laugh, anyway she was clearly still asleep as after a big cuddle she went straight back to sleep, the mind boggles!!

Thanks for all the comments about the photos. I think they are kinda cute too Lenni! DH is unsure as he says there is too much dribble on DS (ummmmmmmmm, when is there NOT dribble on DS) and also claims he himself looks odd in most of them (my sensitive response was, well that is how you look so not much you can do about it).

Dog- The girl who did our wedding photos and DD's newborn shots now has a studio so we got them done there. She charges £45 for the shoot and then you get a CD with the rights to all the pictures so you can print what you like (if you don't want any shots then the shoot is free of charge).

MissJ- I should know this one right but i think feb half term is usually around the 16th of feb time. not sure will check! Will be great to organise a meet as I will make plans to go down to my mums for some of the week so will be useful to know when people are about (and maybe dog comes to stay at hotel Pat this time). bet the next few weeeks will be so hard for you, but lots of fun too! Any hints on the HM for us yet? I heard a rumour about LL today?? oh, ok i know you can tell us nothing!.
Oh yeah, forgo to mention that the baby-sitter is forty pounds for 4 hours on saturday whilst we go to ths black tie thing, £40 to sit and enjoy our hotel suite whilst Z sleeps!
