£40!!!!
Hell, where is it? I'll come for £30 I'd love to chill in a hotel room for the evening!

Had to laugh at dd Pat, maybe she had heard it from someone? Poor thing though, dd1 is totally weary and beaten down by life at the moment. It is a sad thing, they have to grow up and be tired and have bloody alarm clocks etc.
Such a funny phrase to use though. Bless her boots.

PatTheHammer · 15/12/2009 22:13

Wales!!! Cost you a fair bit in petrol I think Tree

Tis daylight robbery though tis true!

Bless the little old lady's we seem to have for DD's

Enjoy the holidays HKZ.

Sorry I've been so crap at keeping up lately.

£40 I would also volunteer to do it if lived close enough to be cost effective

I'm up for feb half term.

HI all!

Just getting ready for a windy sub-zero hail splattered school run.

The heating blowers are broken on the car too. Arse.

oh books . H had it at four months and was very quiet, so maybe a good time to get it (he did get a few 'mother' scars where it started off though.

I've got two sleeping babies woooohoo! And they'll sleep for at least an hour....what should I do? Already raided the fridge, had a cup of tea and three biscuits, m'netted and generally arsed about on the pc. .

By the wasy tree or lenni (whoops, nearly wrote lenin there by mistake!) if you are interested in the wool or want to do a wool swap (ie you've got some you aren't into any more and want to swap) let me know! otherwise will list it on ebay and get some I can knit with (this stuff goes thick and then thin and I'm too much of a beginner to make it look any good!).

SherryMerryLennipillar · 17/12/2009 15:42

120 - don't think I will be able to make it look reasonable if you can't, haven't been knitting long enough to deal with thick/thin bits.

I remembered that wool for you last night and then totally forgot to post it, will look it up again later. Mind is very sieve like. Wow this is a busy time of year - Christmas without babies so much less stressful - how on earth do I do shop with two babies in Christmas rush!! Argh!

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 17/12/2009 17:23

oh no books

dd1 had it last xmas

120cmsOfSnow · 17/12/2009 20:11

anyone fancy coming to help me on my identify my bug thread?

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 17/12/2009 20:33

Books - noooo!! Nightmre!! Hope it clears off quickly.

I don't think the wool would make longies for nappies 120, sorry. Good luck selling it on.

On way to car in the hail and rain dd1 said 'This is the worst day of my life'

Whatdyasaytothat??????

Hatts now prescribed laxatives by consultant, hurrah. GP wanted to delay using meds, but I agree with consultant that pain is pain, and can never be good. So she can have lactalose, and suppositories if needed. SHe has lost weight again and dipped under 16lbs, so hoping regular poo will stimulate appetite.

She has shouted, screamed and yelled sine 1pm. Certainly feels able to express herself!!!

120cmsOfSnow · 17/12/2009 20:45

ok, will sell. Think I've scared a couple of people with the bugs. They were under a delivery from Majestic that had been standing in the corner so am now wondering if they came in the boxes? Anyway... DP shall deal with them tonight

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 17/12/2009 20:46
120cmsOfSnow · 17/12/2009 20:51

yes, I was none too pleased when I found H chasing one .

120cmsOfSnow · 17/12/2009 20:52

Sorry to hear about Hatts screaming. I gave H loads of grated raw apple when he was a bit too bunged up, but it sounds like you are quite a bit further down the line than that!

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 17/12/2009 20:52

Lordy. Yak yak yak!!!!!

SherryMerryLennipillar · 17/12/2009 21:07

I was just trying to think what to write whilst trying to hold in my head everyone's news for more than a nanosecond, and it occured to me - where is Moose? I hope you are okay Moose, and just busy with Christmas, I saw you on Tree's egg thread, hope you'll be back soon.

Boo to pox Books - perhaps just enough time for it to be clear for Christmas though. I think DS's lasted about a week, DD a bit longer but she had loads. Hard one with your sister, is baby her first? I think I would have been more cautious with DD than I was am with DS.

Hope the poo situation improves Tree, poor H. What did they say about her weight? I know a little girl who is tiny tiny, she has had 2 years of slow gain but she is gorgeous and perfectly healthy.

SherryMerryLennipillar · 17/12/2009 21:14

Was going to post more but hands hurting in cold so off to bed with electric blanket on for good measure. Night all - only 8 more 'sleeps' until our babies 1st christmasses

OP posts:
tackyChristmastreedelivery · 17/12/2009 21:16

yeah, Moose. Was happy to see her on eggy thread, hope all ok out there Moose!!??

They said what they always say to stuff like this - not much. He'll see her again in 4 months, I guess as there is nothing obvious going on it's a case of wait and see.

SHe had 3 chips for dinner, 1 spoon of spag bol for lunch, and 4 spoons of millet porridge for breakfast. Also half a breadstick through the day. Plus about 18 oz of her special formula. A;so 300 mls of juicy water. Is that much less than the other Jan babies??

Dietician says she needs to snack more, which I must get going with. Hard to know what to give her that she will like, that isn't a)dairy and b)dreadfully unhealthy.
Any ideas? I tried dairy free carrot cake, wasn't popular but will kepp trying. Humous was a big fat no. She likes pears, but seems bored of fruit. She is turning down dried apricots etc, which I am gutted about as they are so high in iron. Doesn't like pasta [bugger]/ Baby corn, mangetout, sweet potato, pumpkin - all out of favour.

Maybe I should buy more jars and processed baby food stuffs, it goes against the grain - but if she eats them then........

120cmsOfSnow · 17/12/2009 21:33

I can give you and idea of what H ate today:

4oz of muesli with yoghurt & grated apple
around 20 grapes and a toasted pita finger for breakfast

a tangerine and quarter of a bagel for a snack

two tablespoons of stew, a small potato, 3 pieces of sausage, 20 more grapes and a breadstick for lunch

a handful of cheerios, 3 dates, god knows how many more grapes and a baby biscotti, half an apple for snack

a mushroom, 3 pieces of sausage, 2 tablespoons risotto, a pudding pot and the rest of the grapes for supper.

And 4 milk feeds (BF) in among that lot as well.

He has just finished teething and is a big crawler though, so may be making up for it.

I remember when the health visitor said to me about DD that they should be having 5 pieces of fruit a day, I didn't believe her (DD was under 6 pounds when she was born and ate very little for the first year, but loved BLW meals that would last around an hour). She is now very tall and 15kgs so all well there. H by comparison is a very hungry boy. They are all so different.

I must admit to always giving them snacks of fruit/dried fruit/cereal/breadsticks etc at 10 and 3. And Hugo loves those Organix pots for at least a meal or two per week. Their pudding pots are also a staple in our household! As are dried mango, figs, cherries, pineapple, cranberries, dates, raisins etc. Costs me a blardy fortune, but they are most happy with it.

Tree they are all so different. I've found with both of mine they don't like being sat down and having food shovelled in. They always like some bits of food to play with to get them started, then I give them things to distract them a bit while they eat, like kitchen implements, books, or playing silly noise games. Otherwise I think they are put off by a frowning adult staring at them and trying to feed them as quickly as possible. DD tries to feed me and it certain gives me an insight into how babies must feel .

120cmsOfSnow · 17/12/2009 21:34

oops, sorry. bit of an essay there. obviously trying to take my mind off other matters.

SherryMerryLennipillar · 17/12/2009 21:35

Not sure really Tree - I personally wouldn't go for 'baby' foods but they don't generally appeal to me unless it is highly inconvenient not to use them iyswim. What about more hearty everyday family foods that have more taste and texture like cottage pie - it must be possible to make that without the cheese or milk in the potato. Can she have meat?

It wouldn't do you or H any favours to compare her with my DS, he is a totally different baby. Having seen DD (reflux baby) wean compared to DS it isn't something you can compare - DD was very slow to get going and barely took on any food until over a year. You wouldn't know it now though, although DS already out eats her. There are others on the thread who have been slow to wean I think - MissJ's N and HKZ's H for instance.

I'm waffling, I'll hit post cos otherwise I'll still be here in a month and I'll curse my missed opportunity for sleep in the morning - should add been up with ill DS since 2am this morning, not usually in bed at 9.30pm!

OP posts:
SherryMerryLennipillar · 17/12/2009 21:41

120 - not sure if you meant 5 pieces of fruit or 5 fruit/veg but did anyone else see the article the other day about how the fruit veg ratio should be 1:4 and many 'healthy eaters' are eating far too much sugar because of fruit consumption? Made me since my DD is an absolute fruit fiend and whilst I knew it was bad for her teeth I just always assumed it was better for her than sweets. I have tried to go for the 1:4 this week and have thrown a lot of veg away as result

OP posts:
tackyChristmastreedelivery · 17/12/2009 21:41

Rofl at that 120, that is more than dd1 ate today and yesterday, and she is 5

She eats like a bird too. Ah well. Will press on with the dried fruit as it contains calcium etc, which she doesn't get anywhere else.
Will push more snacks and generally try harder.

They are all very very different I agree. I think the thing with H is that she is loosing weight now, and sleeping badly, so does seem hungry. Just having trouble finding food to go in!!
She seems to enjoy readybrek type cereal, I have spelt, millet, oat and wheat versions. Maybe I should pile those into her. I am so zoned into providing a varied selection of food, that because she is turning so much of it down, she isn't getting much at all!! Am anxious not to end up with another faddy eater like dd. Who has existed mainly on ready break and scrambled eggs
