Spangle R is just like H as soon as the nappy comes off he is pulling at his willy. I'm surprised he doesn't pull it off!!
PMSL at your DH and his sainsburys shops!!!

Headless Oh dear at your poo situation. Boys try having them on mass in school. They make life interesting!!

pulacracker · 02/12/2009 21:13

lol Febes and spangle with your willy fiddlers. S isn't bothered, and even DS1 who is 2.6 rarely plays with his.

Well "Operation Dummy" is challenging. Just spent 15 minutes and then another 15 minutes resettling S. He often stirs in the evening, but a quick dummy is usually enough. I keep telling myself i may have a difficult few nights but if i persevere it will be worth it in the long run. We took DDs and DS1s dummies away at 5 months, and i am sure it is easier to do it now than when he is older and even more attached.

muddleddaizy · 02/12/2009 21:23

ladyh sounds like a complete nightmare of a day! Hope you get a nursery place sorted soon.

I too have a willy fiddler - drives me mad, especially when I'm putting nappy cream on. Ds1 was never bothered, so this is very new!

Pula Good luck with operation dummy!

Ds2 was sat between dh and I on the sofa tonight chewing on pizza crusts (he had, had his supper already!!) when we realised he'd fallen asleep clinging on to them

llareggub · 02/12/2009 21:28

Can I ask you all to do something?

One of my very best friends is in hospital. She is 25 weeks pregnant with twin boys and her waters have broken. Could I ask those who believe in the power of prayer to say a prayer and those who don't to keep their fingers crossed for her? She will be in hospital until she delivers. I'm so anxious for her.

It has been a bittersweet day. I went to visit our other good friend (they were both my bridesmaids) who has a six week old baby, and while I was there we had the text to say what had happened. So very worrying.

Hope everyone is well.

Parumpumpumtumm · 02/12/2009 21:44

Llare praying here. So worrying for you.

SpangleMaker · 02/12/2009 21:48

llare oh gosh, your poor friend . I will cross my fingers for her. Did you ever see the thread (in Pregnancy I think) by the MNer whose waters went at 22/23 weeks? I lurked to follow her story. Her DS hung on until about 29 weeks I think, and is fine.

SpangleMaker · 02/12/2009 21:52

here

essenceofSES · 02/12/2009 22:09

Just checking in quickly before heading off to bed.

Llare - will remember your friend in my prayers. Can't imagine how she must be feeling.

OP posts:
Jael · 02/12/2009 22:11

Llare I'll say a prayer for your friend, I hope her and her babies are ok, I know it's really hard, but she needs to try and stay strong for them. During this pregnancy, I was in and out of hospital with those Migraines which they thought were strokes, I don't know whether you can remember, well I kept meeting a lady in there whose waters had gone at 23 weeks and was hospital bound, they had put a stitch in apparently, to try and help Even when I went to have baby J she was in there. Well I've since been in contact with her, and her baby hung on until 38 weeks! and weighed 6lb 14oz!

llareggub · 02/12/2009 22:11

Thank you everyone. Am off to bed now. x

Jinglebelgina · 02/12/2009 22:14

llare What sad news. I'll be crossing fingers here. Longest resident on my ward I remember with early waters braking was about 9 weeks I think.

My mountain of laundry and ironing has gone now. Phew. Time to relax for a bit and then bed. Goodnight everyone May operation Dummy work well, all other babies miraculously start sleeping through the night and all colds equally miraculously dissapear

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/12/2009 22:23

Evening.

Just watching SATC film, drinking wine and eating muesli

Hearing stories about boy fiddlers makes me relieved to have girls.

headless at your day, I hope you've had a nice chilled evening.

Loving the festive names (really love runningdonkey), trying to think up one for me.

I'm really missing DH tonight , he's been gone only 2 weeks but I'm so tired and lonely. Oh and pathetic.

On the plus side, I do have lovely, sparkly, navy-blue nails thanks to a bottle of nail varnish my mum sent me. I've been keeping it hidden from DD2

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 02/12/2009 22:24

Quick hello! I've been doing my Christmas shopping online, starting to make a dent in it now.

llaregub - thinking of your friend, how worrying for everyone.

ladyh - what a day! Hope the wine is helping now, and that the nursery stuff is all sorted soon.

Dreadful night last night (A had terrible, painful wind again, poor thing) but she had a huge and very unpleasant (for DH, ha ha, I was busy!) poo this evening so hopefully she'll feel better tonight. She had roast vegetables for tea, peppers, parsnips, carrots and squash - seemed to like them all. We had the same but with feta cheese, bulghur wheat and garlicky-cucumbery-yogurt.

Bed time was hell this evening, DD1 had a tantrum that started at tea time and continued on and off until 7:30! She was exhausted, poor thing.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/12/2009 22:24

Oh llare x-posts there.

for your friend, I shall be thinking of her and her babies.

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 02/12/2009 22:33

Knew there was something I'd forgotten! I have a girl fiddler!!!! The moment A's nappy is off, her hands are straight there! Perhaps she was a bloke in a former life?!

grumpy - not pathetic at all, don't be daft, it's hard on your own. Loving your blue nails! I was dead chuffed earlier because I'd managed to cut and file mine, they are now all approximately the same length, as good as it gets.

Momino · 02/12/2009 22:43

making my usual late entrance....
evening all.

llare, saying a prayer that all is well with your friend and her babies. x

ladyH, hope you're relaxing and in bed by now. tomorrow will be better.

grumpy, 2 weeks is a long time without dh, no wonder you're . chin up. muesli should help a treat (I echo your ). when are you returning? Christmas? new Year? not long now .

jinglebelg, congratulations on defeating your ironing pile. the most i accomplished in ironing was to take the pile of clothes downstairs. it's waiting for me.

flippin, hellish bedtime, i know what you're going through. in fact, just said to DH tonight that I wish I could get through ONE bedtime without so much crying and tantrums. it's so stressful!

sorry, that's all the namechecking i can muster. am ok but a bit weary. hope everyone else is well.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/12/2009 22:43

flip . I hope A has a better night tonight. And can I come round yours for tea? It sounded gorgeous!

I can hear the cat Keithstable Plumpington-Smythe killing something small and squeaky outside. The dog has her nose pressed to the bottom of the door, snuffling and whining. They worked together earlier to steal 2 banana, coconut and chocolate muffins. I was simultaneously furious and impressed with their teamwork.

Momino · 02/12/2009 22:47

additional namecheck:
running, hope you got some sleep today.
tumm, i'm sorry you're down. hope you're feeling better now. why don't you go shopping to buy a new outfit for work? it might make you feel better.

Momino · 02/12/2009 22:50

oh, thanks to you lovely lot for your kind compliments on FB for Harper's pic. she's a little doll in my eyes. but growing too fast. today, she picked up a rattle and shook it for the sound instead of automatically stuffing it into her mouth. she shook it even more when she saw it made me laugh. how clever babies are!

pulacracker · 02/12/2009 23:03

Night all. No more wakings since 9pm although he usually has a feed around now which is why i'm still up. But i think i'll head to bed as i need some sleep. Thanks for all the comments on my little snowman on FB .

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/12/2009 23:30

momi I will be home for Christmas. I burst into tears earlier whilst watching 'Green Balloon Club' because there was a family doing their Christmas tree in a living room that looked a litle like mine

Good night all sleep tight

Loobylou36 · 03/12/2009 09:31

bookmarking for later

hopefully will have time to pop on for a catch up as not visiting my mum today

runningdonkey · 03/12/2009 09:38

Morning all,

Thanks for all the good sleep vibes yesterday - am pleased to report that I had a little bit more sleep last night. Feed at 9.30 then 3am then stirring at 5.30 and finally up at 6.30. Feel so much better, although I must still be tired as I have an annoying twitch in both eyes!

Right am going to attempt a proper catch-up

llare Sending good wishes to your friend.

pula am watching 'operation dummy' with interest. Aiming to do the same before A turns 1. Need to get the sleep a bit more sorted first tho.

grumps not long now. Am laughing at the thought of your cat and dog plotting to steal cake. Have visions of them in a little room with blueprints, ropes and torches

Hope Fi is feeling better today

ladyh hope you have had a restful night after your eventful day yesterday

Hi gert and spangle Belgina well done on the ironing pile, you don't want to come and do some of ours do you?

Jael I would be miffed too. You followed instructions when the other parents didn't. I would imagine the school had antlers and everything made up already so you might find the parents who spent ££ on full on costumes find they go to waste anyway.

flip hope A had a settled night

tum hope you are feeling better today. I would echo Momi's suggestion about buying something new that does fit, even if from somewhere cheap, something new and comfy will make you feel good for your meeting.

muddled am lol at your DS2 sleeping on sofa with pizza crusts.

phew, hope I haven't missed anyone. Back later x

Jinglebelgina · 03/12/2009 10:07

Hi everyone,

There's a new laundry pile building up already I told DH that his DIY work he keeps complaining about is better than my housework. Mine is never ending. Laundry baskets are like magical recepticles that never ever ever go empty, no matter how hard you try, you never get to see the bottom, sigh.

running Hurrah for a better sleep!

Our sleep on the other hand has been no better. My suspicions that C has now been using me as a dummy instead of a thumb have been confirmed tonight when twice she just had 2 sucks and went straight back to sleep. I think the longest stretch of unbroken sleep last night was about 2.5h and then she got up for the day just before 7.

Can anyone give me a BLW pep talk too please? After eating brilliantly during her 2nd week, she's now going backwards. She seems to find her bib more interesting than her food . Her poos (tmi I know) have gone back to bf poos too, so she's definitely not eating much anymore. Can anyone just tell me she'll find food interesting again soon?

Right, better go and get her now. Time for a swim!

Momino · 03/12/2009 10:21

jinglebelgina, can't give you a pep talk as H is a bit rubbish at food (prefers milk still). all I can say is that she had a great breakfast so they do catch up once in awhile. give her another couple of days and keep trying. if it goes on for longer, try another strategy (spoonfeeding?). keep giving her lots of BF as she wants (but you know that .

pula, where did you get S's snowman outfit? that is such a cute photo on FB!

looby, how's your mum?

running, so glad you got some sleep!

have to do lots of ironing today. I've at least brought the pile downstairs, now have to set up the ironing board . belgian, I'm sick of our non-stop laundry cycle as well. yuk.
