Hello everyone- have been catching up on all your Christmas's!
Ses sounds like O really got stuck into his Xmas dinner!

ILs luckily twas just us this Xmas but we did go to ILs for boxing day, was better than usual actually, only got 1x sly comment about us not being married (it's often a favourite topic of conversation) MIL did look very taken aback that I was still bfing J though now he has started weaning and I didn't even attempt to discuss BLW!

My family seems to have strived to find the noisiest possible presents for J- the living room is still littered with brightly coloured, flashing, musical toys. It might send me cuckoo but J is loving it! J has started crawling these past few days but can only go backwards- he is pulling decorations off the tree as I type- better go intervene!

Pula Wow thats a great sleep for S. R woke lots last night but I still only feed him 12 hours after he went to bed so thats is good. He hasn't really napped the last 2 days so I am going to concentrate on that today. Yesterday he fell asleep in the buggy for 10 mins at around noon but didn't sleep at all apart from that and was awake from 8.30am to 6pm . I think a good nap will help his night time napping.

Febesisachristmascracker · 30/12/2009 09:32

Nighttime sleeping I mean

pulacracker · 30/12/2009 10:25

Febes- I knew i shouldn't have been about Ss great night as last night was bbbaaaaddddd. He woke at 10.45 so i fed him as i don't mind doing a feed before i go to bed. But then he wouldn't settle, and it was 12.45 before he/we finally fell asleep (after calpol and a couple more feeds ). So then i thought at least he might go through til morning, but no, he was up again at 4 and then 6.15 and then finally 7.45. At least i got to lie in til 8.45 whilst DH did breakfast. I just don't know what's bothering him but don't want to rush for calpol every time he doesn't settle.

Hi everyone from Belgium

We've arrived in rainy Belgium now. We've already had some lovely visits of relatives and are now relaxing and generally enjoying ourselves

febes great that R settles without feeding. It should be fairly easy to () go from there to self settling and sleeping through.

C seems to have picked up a new routine now too. She wakes at 10pm, 1, 4 and 7!! Really odd. 2 months ago she could do 7pm bedtime feed and then did 11.30, 5.30 and 8! Anyhoo. Not the time to tackle the sleep issue now anyway. She definitely appears hungry at 10 though. Making up for the fasting she did when ill? Not sure why she´s doing it Anyone ele´s lo appears to be dropping the morning nap? C only occasionally takes 2 naps anymore I`ve noticed.

sherry yay re the crawling! I´m glad that C´s not showing any signs for now. My xmas decorations are safe!

llare Hope that you´ve made it back safely to the Midlands. C started babbling a little too. She said mama on xmas day, but dh didn%t believe me, lol. She´s not repeated it since though

Right, back to being good mummy, daughter, wife now

pulacracker · 30/12/2009 15:56

Hi Jinglebelgina. It's interesting about the nap thing. S still has 2 naps, usually around 10am and 1.30pm but when he starts nursery they will be trying to get him to just have one between 12 and 2pm so i will see how he copes with that. he only had 2 half hour naps today although i managed to sit and feed him back to sleep this afternoon as he was so grumpy!

Febesisachristmascracker · 30/12/2009 19:04

Naps Arggggggghhhhh R hasn't really napped in the past few days. He has woken at 6am and feed and gone back to sleep in our bed until 8.30 then we get up and have breakfast and head out (Stay and play at the children's centre today) He falls asleep on the way home at 12ish and today I left him asleep in the buggy and he slept for about 30 mins in all. He was sleepy at 3ish which to me is a bit late in the day but I put him to bed and he went quiet but DD crept up and went in to him and woke him up . So by 6pm he is shattered and falls asleep on the boob. I think I'll stay in tomorrow and work on getting him to nap in his cot at 11ish. I think he will cope with 1 nap if he can sleep for 2 hours around midday.

Hi All,

Looks like everyone had fab Christmasses, we had a lovely time despite ILs (all of them) driving me and DH absolutely bonkers... not going to rant as it may fill the entire thread and destroy all the lovely Christmassy spirit here

Unfortunately we're now all completely under the spell of the snot monster so our new year plans are cancelled and I think we'll all be in bed early tonight so happy new year to one and all.

Sorry not going to manage a proper namecheck as have whingy snotty baby clinging to me. See you next year folks xx

SpangleMaker · 31/12/2009 14:46

Hi all

Lovely to hear about your Christmasses. Sorry to those with IL woes and snot monster visits (running). Our ILs are fine (apart from their almost-teetotalness - we had to tip rum on our chocolate puddings to get some alcohol at Christmas dinner at BILs ) but H had the snot monster pay a visit earlier this week.

We had a great Christmas - H was on top form and stayed up until 10pm on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, although he was losing the plot a bit by then, and was up many, many times in the night as a kind of penance for us I think. In fact with the long days, snot monster, teething we have had some truly dreadful nights lately. I'm glad DH is off (and can somehow sleep through it all ) otherwise I'd be totally worn out! We have one more late night for H tonight, at a friend's party but will come home well before midnight, then I'm going to make sure he gets back into a good routine.

Hope everyone has a good NYE - see you in 2010 xx

Jinglebelgina · 31/12/2009 17:16

Being that were in Belgium, staying up to midnight is a must. I have a feeling I'll be in bed for midnight with C trying to get her back to sleep tonight. I might have to sling her up for it. C's been velcro baby today and when she's down I need to be in her line of vision. She had 2 mahoosive naps too, first time in days.

Lovely to hear from you all, running, spangle etc...

Wishing you all a New Year that's as exciting as 2009 has been, though it'll be tough one to match

llareggub · 31/12/2009 21:34

Happy new year everyone!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 31/12/2009 21:59

Just popping in to say to all my friends here...

Have a wonderful night full of merriment and cheer...

I may not see you tonight but will hopefully next year

So when the bells chime I wish you a Happy New Year!!!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 31/12/2009 22:09

I'll be surfin the net tonight for a while tonight as DH is still poorly with the bronchitis... he was back at the doc's this am, is now on bigger and stronger anti-biotics for the next week & has been signed off work until the 11th jan now he's back in bed atm. Both dc's asleep leaving me to MN/FB/Farm/Surf until i dream feed G... then i'll see if i fancy waiting for the bells or just head to bed early too? I'll probably still be up and awake knowing me!

Parumpumpumtumm · 31/12/2009 23:25

Happy New Year everyone !

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 01/01/2010 01:43

fireworks were fantastic here as always but unfortunately they woke ds.. so dh & i watched the fireworks going off across the bay and our sea front from our kitchen window with ds (3.5y) which made this new year kinda special seeing his expression full of awe and joy the drawback has been getting him back to sleep.. random fireworks keep going off and ds keeps getting up to see more. i'm hopeful he'll stay in bed this time.. it's now a lot quieter outside. G has amazingly slept through both the huge booming fireworks and ds being up! me thinks i'll be tired today but at least i'll not have a hangover

muddleddaizy · 01/01/2010 07:20

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a good night last night! We were in bed by 10.30 and ds2 was awake several times and up for the day at 4am so I'm shattered and feel like I have a hangover!!

We had a good Christmas with my family. If anyone wants to know how to fit 14 adults and children into one normal sized living room - I'll put you in touch with my brother!!

Ds2 has finally learn how to crawl and keeps attacking the Christmas tree and one the plants in the living room! Anyhow he's nicked the laptop cable - again, so I'm going to post this before the laptop dies!!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 01/01/2010 07:43

morning muddled & happy new year again everyone!

I was hoping for a lie in of any kind this am but G woke at 6.30am for her usual bf and was/is full of raspberry blowing giggling beans she was the only one that slept through though so shouldn't be surprised.. ds woke at 7am so later for him but after he was up last night i was hoping he'd sleep longer.. We've got a quiet day planned today and as I didn't get round to having a drink or dh as he's on AB's at least we've not got hangovers!dh just has to 1st foot my parents when they're up..

pulacracker · 01/01/2010 10:12

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!

We had some friends round for a meal last night, and then played "singstar" on the PS2- it's like a karaoke game and very funny. Then we paused it and turned the telly on to hear big ben chime midnight and we'd just missed the countdown and the fireworks had started . We then carried on singing til 1.30 and i felt a bit rough after 2 beers, 3 wines and some champers. Luckily DS2 had a good night, a quick feed and back to sleep at 11, then another feed around 4 and slept in the bed til nearly 8.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 01/01/2010 10:27

Sounds a great night pula how's your head atm?

Tummum · 01/01/2010 11:00

Morning everyone ! Hope you all had lovely celebrations. We have some friends over who live in Germany, so lovely to see them. Poor G has a vomiting virus... he is throwing up and pooing at the same time, poor mite. I'm hoping it clears by Monday as I start work then

SpangleMaker · 01/01/2010 11:25

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Tummum poor G hope he's better soon. And work on Monday - eek!

We got back from friend's party around 10ish as H was getting tired. We put him in his pyjamas there and transferred him to the cot via a quick bf and he went to sleep fine, so we cracked open the bubbly and stayed up to watch Jools Holland, then headed to bed.. only for H to wake up for a feed - and then again at 3.15, 4.30, 5.50 and 7.15 - aargh! - although he then slept in DH's arm until 9.30. Definitely no more late nights for any of us for a while!

Hope there aren't too many sore heads this morning.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 01/01/2010 12:13

oh no tummum i hope G is better very soon x. eek about work.. where has the time gone?!

4.5 hrs sleep here spangle so glad i didn't get round to having the bubbly on my own last night or i'd be reeaally up sh*t creek without a paddle today (dh back on AB's and poorly in bed) leaving dc care to me for the mo.. ah G awakes back later..

Febesisachristmascracker · 01/01/2010 12:36

Happy New Year everyone!!

We had a quiet one here. We got out a load of DVDs and watched. 2 good ones were The Hangover and Taken (mmmmm Liam Neison). I had 2 glasses of pink bubbles and a load of party food that we got in to go with our DVDs. The last DVD finished and we turned on to the telly to watch the countdown start and said Happy New Year and went to bed. It was possibly the best new year ever .

R went 12 hours between feeds again but is still waking and crying lots . Its the 5th night and he is getting worse. He is also still not napping in the day in his cot. DH just fetched him down after crying in his cot for an hour . We went up to him every 10 mins but he is just not sleeping. He will sleep in the carseat or buggy if we are out though. He seems more clingy during the day and it makes me wonder if I am doing the right thing???? Maybe I need to post in the sleep section.

I better go as DD is like a caged animal and is getting into everything!!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 01/01/2010 12:37

OMG G has just done her 1st proper crawl! She was eyeing up a toy a bit away from her on the floor and instead of the usual sit/roll/sit.. she just stayed on all 4's and crawled!!! DS has gone downstairs to my parents, dh is asleep.. so just me to squeal with excitement and oh no
