Evening Ses! I enjoyed strictly too. Glad O is still asleep, hope you have a good night.

We've had to lower A's cot too, she was trying to climb over the bars!

Managed to get A to sleep ok tonight, but I've been listening to her grumbling and settling herslef again.

Supposed to be really cold again tonight, and more snow too! We don't normally leave the heating on all night but I think we will tonight, just for the girls really...DD1 woke at 5:30 this morning!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 19/12/2009 22:10

spangle i'm just paranoid about all spots! but if it's mottling i wouldn't have done the glass test either.. i too only really worry when they go off their food and have a temp.

flippin we've been watching a DVD so don't know the strictly result yet..

i have actually started crocheting grace's xmas stocking.. better late than never and will be finished for xmas eve

Mominohoho · 19/12/2009 22:13

Spangle, hope H is better. do do the glass test but could it be a viral thing (maybe?).

tumm, awful experience with the car and hope it's not too expensive.

Ses, O crawling across the floor... H crawls but only backwards [hgrin]

Jael, hope all are better in your house.
Ses and Fi, hope all goes well with the LO's going into their own rooms.

Belgina, funny, I noticed as well when you wrote out C's name a few posts ago... .

today was so nice: dd1 had a lovely birthday and we so enjoyed celebrating with her. It's been snowing quite a bit and it looks so beautiful.

Hope all of you had a good day as well.

essenceofSES · 19/12/2009 22:13

We've left it on for the last 3 nights The baby monitor was only reading 12 degrees. Also got an open fire again tonight which should help O as the chimney goes up the wall of his room.

I still can't see any of our road for snow and we're expecting more tonight too. Meant to be having friends over tomorrow - altogether there'll be 6 adults, 4 dogs and 1 baby here if the snow will allow them to travel over!
DH is cooking a venison stew and then we plan to go off and walk the dogs. Oh and exchange Christmas presents too of course!

Right, I might experiment with going to bed in my bedroom without a baby being in there for the first time in over 7 months!
Good night all - hope it's a good one for us all!

Oh x-posts Momi!
Glad DD1 had a good birthday!
O has been commando crawling at a v speedy pace for about 6 weeks now. He's getting a bit of a reputation too as none of the other babies in our NCT group are moving yet and he keeps going over to them, taking their toys and moving off with the toy!
Yesterday he started rocking on all fours too and once he was up on his hands and toes with his bum in the air!!
Just wish he'd sit though. He can do it he just prefers to be on the move. Only time I managed to get him to sit today was in the hall on one side of the child gate (well dog gate really!) with Lucy (one of the dogs) on the other. He sat there for about 5-10 mins watching her!

Sorry I've rambled again! Must go to bed!

flippin- I was just wondering about leaving the heating on all night too- the DCs are up in the attic, and it is noticably colder up there (about 15 degrees in DS2s room).

Poor DS2 is teething I think, but also may be something more, as he had a temperature earlier, he was sick at bedtime, and he hasn't been himself today.

Ses- hope O continues to sleep well. We moved DS2 upstairs a few weeks ago, but he always ends up back in our room at some point as we have two cots and with it being so cold, DH goes to get S and I feed him in bed . The latest he's come in with us was 5.45 which was last week, but usually it's around 3am.

Mominohoho · 19/12/2009 22:18

xposted a few.

flippin, h went to sleep ok but also grumbling a bit upstairs.

Mominohoho · 19/12/2009 22:21

xposted again, ses and pula. ses, tomorrow sounds fun.

pula, hope S is feeling better.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 19/12/2009 22:28

night ses.. hope it doesn't feel too odd without O in the room.

momino dd1's birthday sounded fabby!

still no snow here either

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 19/12/2009 22:34

momino, pleased that you had a nice day with DD1.

ses, sounds like O will be proper crawling soon. Aaawww at O watching the dog though, how sweet! A is like that with her sister, se just watches/stares with big cute puppy dog eyes, but DD1 just shouts at her or ignores her, poor A!

pula - poor DS2, hope things improve.

re heating - we'll leave it on, just turn it down a bit lower. I'm still having hot flushes at night () so I'll be boiling, but hopefully it'll be better for the girls.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 19/12/2009 22:41

pula hope ds2 is ok tonight.

our flat is quite warm with the heating on but as soon as it goes off the temp drops.. out our lovely sash n shutter windows. we'll have our heating on low down tonight also.

pulacracker · 19/12/2009 22:51

flippin- I have really bad night sweats too [yuck emoticon].

Thanks for the kind wishes that DS2 feels better soon. I did start to worry when he had a temp that it might be swine flu. I think i'd better go to bed as i'm not expecting a great night. S didn't settle until 8.15 as he just kept crying - in the end some calpol and another feed did the trick, but he was awake again at 9.45 so i fed him in the hope of getting an early night and a few hours kip. Night night all.

Momino- S crawls backwards too .

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 19/12/2009 23:00

Right, I'm off now. Fingers crossed for good nights and well babies and children all round.

And pula - glad it's not just me with night sweats! It's one of those slightly embarrassing problems, isn't it! Not sure of the cause, I'm assuming it's hormonal as I only have them when I'm pregnant or breastfeeding. So that's most of the last four years, lovely.

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 20/12/2009 08:40

morning and a good one here. G woke up at 5.30am and had both boobs. ds woke up at 6am and dh got up with him.. so G and I were able to drift back off to sleep till she woke again at 8! dh has now gone back to bed for an hour or 2. he made me a cup of tea.. had changed ds's bum, put on a DVD of bee movie as a treat and made DS breakfast.. so i've not really much to do except sit back, feed G and enjoy!

Hope everyone's poorly ones are feeling bit better this am.. ds is back to just coughing.

how did O get on in his room ses

essenceofSES · 20/12/2009 09:27

Morning!

Fi - that sounds like a great start to the day!

We got on better than I expected. O woke up at 11 so I went and sat in his room and fed him. After a couple of tries at putting him back in his cot when he had been asleep, he eventually stayed there asleep at about midnight. He then slept there til 5am!!! I then heard him on the monitor chatting and moving around. It was 20 mins before he needed me to go and rescue him as he'd got wedged and kept banging his head against the end if the cot. I tried feeding him and putting him back but he wasn't having any of it so at 6am we went onto the single bed in his room (O wall side!) and must have drifted off as the next thing I knew it was 8.30!

Hope he continues like this and we gradually get longer stints!

Right, need to get dressed and clean up downstairs for our visitors!

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 20/12/2009 10:38

well done O & sounds like a fun day..

it seems in my half asleep state this morning G wasn't latched on quite right.. have now had to go hunt out the lansinoh for both nips as she broke the skin on both. her suck has been stronger over last few days since her bottom teeth came through so they were already feeling a bit throbby. just shows that even after 6m one bad latch and OW!

llareggub · 20/12/2009 12:27

Afternoon all!

Beautifully sunny but cold day here. However I am sitting in my sunny conservatory where it is lovely and warm due to the sun. I'm not looking forward to it getting dark when it will be really, really cold!

I woke up at silly o'clock this morning because my hand was freezing! I was asleep on my arm which is how I usually sleep to stop me rolling on G but somehow it made me really cold. It was very odd. Makes me think that G must be quite cold indeed. He sleeps in a vest, long sleeved bodysuit, sleepsuit and a 2.5 tog. Do you do anything different?

llareggub · 20/12/2009 12:28

Oh, and ouch at the latch, firelight!

SpangleMaker · 20/12/2009 12:32

Ses glad you and O had a good night.

Fi ouch!

We're all ready to go over to my Mum's but waiting for the Ocado delivery that's been delayed because of the snow. I don't want to go out though as it's got all of our Christmas shopping.

H is a lot better today. His rash is pretty much gone and we didn't need any calpol in the night

pulacracker · 20/12/2009 13:43

Afternoon ladies,

Poor S still isn't well. He was sick again this morning, and is hardly eating or drinking and finding it hard to sleep. He is very snotty and clingy and hot now and again. We just keep dosing him up on nurofen and calpol.

It's really snowing here and our Tesco christmas order is meant to come tonight 8-10pm so not very confident about that at the moment. I don't mind if they rearrange, but if they cancel i will be very as i booked a slot weeks ago and have spent a lot of time ordering (it's around £250 worth of stuff).

llareggub · 20/12/2009 13:52

Blimey, fingers crossed they get through!

Mominohoho · 20/12/2009 14:57

afternoon.
Hope S is better, Pula.
Fi, hope your nips are better (ouch!).
spangle, glad H is better.
ses, sounds like O did well with his sleeping, hope the stints get longer!

llare, H sleeps in a vest, thick sleepsuit, 2.5 tog and blanket. her room usually goes down to 14C at night and we check her before we go to bed. She doesn't wake till morning and her hands are usually warm (a good sign) so I know she's covered enough.

hi to everyone else.

sleeping, dd1&2 woke up about 10x between the 2 of them and I'm really at the end of my tether. i screamed at dd2 when she was whingeing at 330am. it didn't help because she promptly screamed which caused dd1 to scream. i don't know what to do. i found a thread on behaviour with similar case (llare, i think you're on it), but no one had any life-changing solutions.

it also seems to be getting worse and I don't know why. should I call the HV?

pulacracker · 20/12/2009 15:10

Momino- sorry to hear your DD1 and DD2 are making nights difficult. Mine have been through phases of night waking, but i've never worked out what stops it, although it's usually making sure they have a cup of water by the bed that they can give to themselves, that they have a nightlight if they don't like it pitch black, and that we don't do anything that could be seen as exciting/interesting- we do let them into our bed if they are very upset, but they know they go back after 5 mins.

S seems a bit better but is still a bit grumpy, but at least i have been able to put him on the floor for a play.

Jael · 20/12/2009 17:09

DD is worse, she can't keep water down, were off to the hospital soon to see the out of hours doctor. Her temp is up and down and she's complaining of very bad tummy ache, so we'll see what they say, I hate to see her like this, she's so un well and totally not herself. Sorry I havn't got time to namecheck XX

FirelightGlintingOnTheXmasTree · 20/12/2009 18:53

jael so sorry to hear dd is so poorly.. sending big hugs and hope dd is feeling better very soon.
