peaches hi again

fidelma poor you, I hope your boob gets better fast

bella Sorry to hear Nathaniel had to go through all of that, hope that he recovers fast. and great on 4oz weight gain x

Talking of things that we've given up, my new-mummy neighbour and I have signed up tp the Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières Charity Run, 5km Route this morning. 5km used to be my warm up distance, seems like a long way right now! Looking forward to getting the running shoes back on

Totally cursed myself by talking about an anglel-baby; Annalise has been a little devil to settle... Must have had some ssh/pat honeymoon!

CalypsoFramboise · 11/02/2010 21:15

Its like groundhog day with my previous post - sorry!

Iggly good news with William settling better

So I was thinking I'd get starting with some cross-training and popped on a Power Workout dvd, when just as I was enjoying the intense cardio part when Annalise decides to have a boredom meltdown and I had to stop suddenly to look after her - I can already feel my hamstrings getting tight from not having any kind of cool-down and stretch - I'm going to be hobbling about tomorrow

I'm supposed to be organising our mini-holiday in May; visiting my family in the Pyrenees, then spending time in the Med, possibly a week in Antibes and a week on Corsica. Have been harbouring a long-term wish to move to Corsica so we'll look with a critical eye to a new life there one day

littlepea72 · 12/02/2010 06:38

Hi everyone, going to post now while i have the chance!

Glad everyones LO's are doing well

My friends little boy is very lucky to be home & alive. He ended up with alot of different things wrong at the one time, but the worse on was pneumonia. As soon as he got the right treatment, the fits stopped, he was able to eat & just got stronger, but she was told to expect the worse, it was terrible. But he is home now & thats all that matters.

Faith & Ethan are just about over the CP....what a time! Faith wont now be put down at all! No mat, no chair....no nothing, just screams the place down. Waking up again about 2 times a night, and she just talks & shouts to herself untill you have to take her downstairs before she wakes everyone else up!

She is now 19lb's & has overtaken her cousin, who is 4 months older....big mama she is now known as she doesnt eat that much! Still loves to sleep in MB but its way to small, so i will have to move her into her cot, and as she isnt sleeping much anyway, it might be a good time. I have also tried her on baby rice, but she wants nothing to do with it.

Does anyone have a problem now with their LO's not wanting to go into the car seat or the buggy? She screams & cries like mad.

Have more people to see today about my son, this happens every week, at least 2 people a week arrive here, to talk about things, then once a month the big meeting, were everyone gets together with their findings. To much talk & not enough finding out what is wrong with him. They have labeled him, but untill the Ped Doctor does her bit, then we go on like this....Im starting to get very tired & its getting us down now.

Sorry for the me, me, me......

Ruby great news about Rubes! You must feel like a whole different person now

Hi peaches

twinklegreen · 12/02/2010 08:36

Amelie hates the car seat, it's the only time she cries! She likes the pushchair though

littlepea72 · 12/02/2010 14:51

We have a tooth showing!!! but man she is screaming/crying with the pain, but its almost through

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 12/02/2010 17:27

twinklegreen / littlepea - DD hates the car seat too as she gets bundled in and out when I have to pick up / drop off DS. She is happier if I sing to her and dance her about abit before she goes in.

Igglybuff · 12/02/2010 19:12

Wow teeth already littlepea!

William doesnt like the car seat mainly because it folds him in half as he's too big. It makes him sick up if he's recently fed. So we're getting a bigger one!

Britax pushchair arrived today - I've been wheeling it about in the hallway cant wait to road test!

rubyslippers · 13/02/2010 10:15

teeth! Wow ... hope the teething isn't too awful

same old, same old with Rubes - 3 hourly feeds

I am having a lazy weekend and am going to head to bed when she does tonight to at least rest, if not sleep

Ruby is also getting much better at settling herself for all her sleeps - i would say she goes down awake 80% of the time now day and night

She is also a big finger sucker and tries to jam her whole fist in her mouth classy girl that she is

I have got the BLW book out (can't remember is i mentioned it already) and it looks good but we are holding off until 24 weeks

DS has a party this afternoon

ANyone got any valentine plans? DH and i will exchange cards and that will be it - no time for romance at the moment

peachespaige · 13/02/2010 15:14

Hi all.

Fred is teething too although thankfully it isnt bothering him too much.

I have mastitis again..... I went to bed last night at 7.15 and was out like a light. Fred woke around 11pm and it took a while to settle him he then woke again at 1.30 and barely fed so I put him back in his cot and let him suck his fingers except this woke him up so he was chatting away until I gave in and let him use me as a dummy, finally asleep for 3am then up around 4.30 and in bed with me until 7am. Its like this every night, once my mastitis has gone Im introducing bottles at night. I cant go on like this.

fluffycats · 13/02/2010 15:29

Just wanted to let you that I requested to be a friend on FB yesterday, SC just in case your wondering who the hell it is!

Had an awful night on Thursday both Ella and I were really sick. She started projectile vomiting after every feed, it was horrible and milky sick everywhere. It calmed down yesterday and today she'd back to normal (touch wood) Lots and lots of washing to do now though!

No plans for valentines, we've decided to give it a miss this year as were all feeling a bit poorly!

littlepea72 · 13/02/2010 19:00

Fluffy I hope you & Ella are feeling better xx

Peaches I really dont know what its like having mastitis, but it sounds so sore I hope its not long till you are better, hope you get better sleep by starting night bottle feeds xx

Faith is in so much pain with this tooth breaking through. The skin is about to break, but its up quiet a bit, not long now. She is on Calpol 4 times a day to stop the pain. Cant remember my DS having this much problems with his first teeth. But it does mean i get to cuddle her more.

Just having a take-away tomorrow night, i told my DH not even to bother with cards, but i found one in the back of the car today....hope it was for me! Have a good day tomorrow, whatever you are doing

BellaCullen · 13/02/2010 21:51

Hi Nathaniel`s been sleeping better now only wakes up once or twice at night will probably change tonight.Enjoys baby rice and carrots and helps him poo more,
had two today normally could take him a whole week to do a poo. Will introduce baby rice at breakfast next week.
His eye is healing good and is all clear. He gets harder at check-ups now,as soon as they touch his head to look in his eye he squeezes it shut.So can take ages.He will be getting new glasses as eye got stronger which is great.

Nathaniel is still in carrycot in buggy as still fits in it and has some more leg space as its still cold will leave it on fa while longer. Also has space in moses basket seems there are some advantages having a smaller baby.He also still fits in some of his 0-3 months clothes its great to get so much wear out of them..

fluffy hope you all fit better soon.

peaches sorry to hear you got mastitis again know how horrible it is. Hope it will go soon.
Problem with mastitis is that once you get it,it leaves scar tissue so have a risk of getting it again. Was lucky enough not to have it with ds1 and dd so was a bit surprised to get it now.

Wow littlepea the first tooth.

ruby glad she can settle herself more now.
Nathaniel still feeds every 2-3hs dont think well ever get to 4hs.

Calypso it so hard to fit excersise in with a baby. How were your legs next day?

Meeting a friend tomorrow for coffee, havent bothered with valentines for a few years now. Hope you all have a good day tomorrow xoxo

HappyTangerine · 14/02/2010 16:29

We're on our second day of green poo nappies today, not sure what's going on. Even after one of Joes long night feeds, it was green and very stinky-they are mostly non smelly though. Started off khaki green and now every one is a dark/spinach green. Sometimes he does it mid feed. He's in drooling frenzy with the teething, am getting through 5-6 bibs a day. He's also coughing a bit as well, DH has terrible cough and cold. Has anyne else exprienced these lovely green poos?

Will try and do a longer dream feed now he's asleep, back later for personals x

HumphreysCorner · 14/02/2010 19:16

Hi all

Will catch up later but for some reason Matthew woke 4 times last night which is 2 more than usual so a tad tired.

Happy Valentines Day!

HC - sorry to hear M is more wakeful

hope everyone is doing ok
xx

fidelma · 14/02/2010 20:49

lots of night time wakenings here also

DH is ill and 4 children feels like alot

Thinking of you all x

Scout19075 · 14/02/2010 22:16

Hope all of the mommies/mummies and babies had a nice Valentine's Day!

littlepea72 · 15/02/2010 07:22

Faith slept in her cotbed last night she looked big in it, as she took half of it, now wondering how we fit her into the MB lol
Put her in it to see what she thought, and she just loved it, mobile going, me, my DH & DS all standing laughing while she kicked, rolled & laughed at the bunnies above her flying She only woke up the once at 4am, but i think i must of woken every hour just to check she was ok lol....

Faith used to get green poo, but the doctor told me it happens alot. When DS had it, he was older & on formula, it smelt alot & he was screaming in pain when it passed through, that was because he was intolerant to the milk. We ended up changing him to Soya milk. But normal green unsmelly ones are ok.

Hope everyone got spoiled yesterday! xx

Rugbylovingmum · 15/02/2010 09:32

Hooray - our central heating thermistat is broken so DDs room ended up at 20 degrees last night rather than the usual 17 but she must have liked it as she slept from 8-6.45 with just 2 quick feeds. Much better than the 7-8 wakings and bouts of screaming we have had for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I feel great, just hoping it wasn't a one off! This is her second night in her own room and it is much better, I think we disturbed her sleep by moving around (and DH snoring) and she is much more settled on her own. I find it a bit scary and keep wanting to check on her but I'll get used to it.

Littlepea - F sounds so cute having a little cotbed party! Glad she slept so well.

Fidelma - sorry for night wakings, you have my sympathy. Was at my wits end last week, just felt zombied. Hope it improves soon.

Scout - did you have a good valentines day?

HC - how was M last night?

HT - think my DSIL said that my niece had green poos when teething, the hv said it was something to do with lots of drool neutralising stomach acid so it changes how the milk is absorbed but nothing to worry about (r something like that).

Right, have the hv coming at 11 to give me the weaning talk which should be exciting . Better go and move some some of the teethers/muslins/spare tops/playmat/rattles/bouncer/general crap that seems to take over the living room these days so she has somewhere to sit. How can 1 tiny baby have so much stuff? I blame the grandparents!

twinklegreen · 15/02/2010 09:46

Hi everyone

hope you all had a good valentines night, dh and I had a m&s dine in meal deal, it was very yum, we got a starter, main course, pudding, bottle of wine and chocolates for £20, it was lovely to have a civilised dinner after the kids had got to bed

fluffycat I have approved you to the fb group.

ht green poo's are quite common when they are teething or ill, I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure they'll turn back yellow soon.

peaches hope the mastitis has improved and you're feeling better.

Amelie has been sleeping much better recently, she usually wakes just once between 7pm and 7am. This weekend she's been doing 7pm till 6am then back to sleep until the other dc's wake her up. So why am I still exhausted??
Had a lazy morning this morning as the dc's are on half term, just lay in bed dozing while they watched beebies, only just got up. It's nice not to have to rush to get them to pre-school.

have a good day everyone

devilsadvocaat · 15/02/2010 10:29

hi everyone,

i made crispy duck wraps with hoi sin cucumber etc. was yum. no pudding as we're on a diet .

saturday night, i had my girlies round for wine ad nibbles, next month we're having a sleepover at another girl's house. so i guess that will be charlie's first sleepover

charlie now settle himself after about 30 secs of crying. he generally wakes twice between 7-7 for a quick feed and then settles himself in his mb. was really hard to leave him to cry but now it's done, he is napping for 1-2 hours in the day x2 and i don't have to rock him to sleep. it took about 5 days. i have more time to spend with ds1 which stops him from getting into mischief! i hope that's it done now and no more regressions.

can't believe we're only 5 weeks off of 6 months. sometimes when i look at his little hands it maes me feel teary that they won't be little forever. i am looking forward to seeing what little person he grows into though.

we're off to london this afternoon as fil is getting an obe fromthe queen tomorrow! so dh is going with his parents to b'ham palace. i will be taking the kids to visit some of my best friends from when we lived in london.

smallone · 15/02/2010 12:01

Hi all,

We've had 2wks of green poo now, I'm told it can be due to a virus, teething, wind, foremilk/hindmilk inbalance and overfeeding. Basically its green coz its gone through their system too fast. As long as there's nothing else wrong its a wait and see thing.

I've got thrush in my boobs I'm assuming ds has it and DH has it now too.

HumphreysCorner · 16/02/2010 08:37

Oh smallone, get thee to the Dr pronto and the treatment will ease it quickly.

littlepea-glad Faith is settling well in her cotbed.

Matthew is full of cold and woke at 12-30, 2-30, 4-30 and 6-30. I leave him to cry but how long is too long? Perhaps he is hungry. Think I will wait until he is weaned before I leave him to cry when he wakes as then I will know that he shouldn't be hungry. He is baby No3 and it is still

Went through a red light yesterday by accident as the lights changed so quickly. Went back and saw little cameras on them so should think I will get a fine, will be the first one for me.

Have a good day ladies!

Life is full on in the fidelma household.DC are off for half term.I managed to get them all booked in for skiing on the dry slope for 2 hours a day.DS can also go now that he is 4and a1/2 they end up with more good energy as a result and I get 2 hours with Connor bear

Our kitchen was full this evening.I was feeding Connor while instructing all the others to make pancakes, flour and eggs everywhere !!!DD1 managed to cook them,DH then came in and started flipping them.Chocolate spread, lemon and sugar all over the table!!! lots of fun and happy children with full tums.(lots of tidying up for me)all done, 3 children in bed and one watching the brit awards

Off to Edinburgh tomorrow to see my god daughter and her 3 sisters (well her mum actually)Thankfully we have dvds in the back of the car so the children can all watch a movie while I drive.(only used on longer journys)

Ds has got into the same school as the girls so much relief all round. My life will be easier in August when the big three all go to the same school at the same time.

I am trying to organise a blessing for Connor. We always do these ourselves. The Godparents (fairygod parents) choose some poetry or a reading and we have a little time,to bless Connor (have a great big party !!!!)We get a big scrap book and ask all the guest to put something in it eg.words of wisdom, poetry, drawings etc. These are very special books in our house and the children love them.

Connor is still not sleeping well during the night.I am coping quite well,I am obviously used to sleep deprivationI think he is teething and I know that he is windy !!!

My breast keeps getting blocked with a white blister and does not clear unless I break the blister with a sterilised needle but then all returns to normal. This has happened twice what is it twinkle or anyone eles that may know ?

I am enjoying all my children but being an only one I can't help thinking what my life would of been like if I had just had one or two children. Not that I would change a thing but I do wonder
