Hi everyone, just checking in from my sisters.

Scout I got a positive test when I was about four weeks, can't remember the date but it was a Monday! Knew I was pregnant about a week before although didn't quite believe it as I had miscarried 4 weeks before that!

Took Amelie swimming today, she loved it. We were in the pool for nearly an hour. She slept for ages afterwards

I am enjoying seeing the recent pics, haven't they all changed, you can really see their little faces properly now

twinklegreen · 03/02/2010 20:54

Fidelma click here then request to join the fb group.

Scout19075 · 03/02/2010 21:48

Wow, everyone knew so early! Makes me feel sheepish -- I was well over four months and my dating scan was my 20-week scan as BabyScout was 20+5 when we had the first pics. Made for a quick pregnancy, though, especially since they had to induce during the 38th week due to a lot of health complications (he came 10 days early because of that, though think he'd have gone over had he been left to his own devices!).

Can anyone join the FB group? I resisted FB for AGES but love it now -- great way for my family/friends in the US to see BabyScout.

fidelma · 03/02/2010 22:16

twinkleI think I have done that my name is Natalie.

Connor bear has very red cheeks and is chewing his hands all the time.I suspect 2 teeth very soon.Off to have a bath then bed in fear of a wakeful night.

I am going into school to teach Bollywood dancing tomorrow.I have no experience in Bollywood but should be a laugh.

Snowing again!!!!!

HappyTangerine · 03/02/2010 23:05

I got 95% in my Italian assignment!

Scout I found out I was pg at 5 to 6 weeks. Only tested because my dog was acting very odd, resting her head on my tummy all the time and being v over-protective. She was out of sorts anyway and someone suggested I test to rule it out before taking her to vets. As it was she was ill but I was very definately pg!

I resisted Facebook for ages as well then joined because of the Mumsnet group. Silly of me to resist really as so many friends/family from Wales and the S.East are on there that I instantly got the support network I'd been so lacking up here. Am still getting to grips with it but speak to most of my fb friends every day. And I won a prize in the Lush fb comp earlier so . Took me ages to realise I was a member of the MN Oct09 group, I couldn't find the link! Am still getting my head round the real-life names.

fidelma Is May too far away for meet-up? Re facebook:On your main page you've got 4+ tabs- Wall, Info, Photos, Links. Go to info and the groups you have joined are right at the bottom of the page. Bollywood is fab, have fun.

Scout19075 · 03/02/2010 23:12

I've requested to join the FB group -- I'm Stacy in RL.

HappyTangerine -- good job on your assignment!

CalypsoFramboise · 04/02/2010 09:03

Morning {yawn}

Like the new confused emoticon haha

fidelma thats fabulous news, was thinking of you and I'm so glad its all ok And LOL Bollywood, does sound like a laugh - how on earth do you fit that in with 4 children

Many of you are having a tough time with the LO teething, hope they all feel better soon.

devils and HT so sorry to hear your fathers' died through cancer, must have been horrible

HT that driver toy does sound like it has a short-shelf life for any parent I think its you that has uploaded a profile picure of somewhere Mediterranean looking? {sigh} man I want a holiday somewhere hot! Oh and Bravissimo (?!) on your Italian paper

Bella Interested to hear what the HV said about not introducing formula at this stage, sound a bit strange! Also agree about prewashing new nappies, to get the 'size' off, might get the motherease after all.

devils gorgeous photos!

scout welcome back

Ruby you really having such a tough tough time, I feel for you It doesn't ever seem to end. What's Ruby's dayime routine like? Not that I ever want to come across as smug, but getting Annalise into a fairly structured 3hr cycle (she's too little I think for 4 hrs) has made a really big difference to how well she naps in the day and hence better at night. I know routines aren't for everyone though...

iggly good to see you back, sorry to hear that you are similarly having a hard time, and although you may not laugh, you may have another baby and forget just how tough it really is! Good to hear you might make a London meet up.

meetup {puts her organising hat on} So April in London for the southerners meeting looks good - although how many people could make Birmingham for the day if it makes it easier for more people? and would a weekend or week-day be easier for those with other DCs? {fires up a spreadsheet }

Off to Baby Massage where the midwife will weigh Annalise, feel queasy at the thought of it... I expect that the scales will say the same as last week as she's been so pukey.

HumphreysCorner · 04/02/2010 10:39

Morning all

Will join you with a yawn as Matthew is waking rwice nightly again. Hoping it won't last.

HT-wow, that is a good result.

scout-welcome back, sorry you miss the US so much. Lucky you getting to 4 months PG without knowing. My sickness was so bad that I would have known. I tested at 3 weeks and 5 days and got a faint line. CB digi said PG though. Didn't really have any symptoms this time.

M still hasn't pooed and it has been over a week now. Dreading it when he does.

Have a good day ladies, must put some more washing in.

Big wave!

Calypso - good luck with weigh in (sends sympathy), they are so damn sstressful. It is me that has the profile pic of me on hols, it was Italy lasy year. Seems like a lifetime away! The wedding I am attending in London is around April 15th, we should be there until Sun 18th.

HC One of our no nonsense family gps (mum of 4) recommended half a teaspoon of brown sugar in 350ml cool boiled water to help constipation. No good for us as Joseph wouldn't take a bottle.

We had fun last night. Joseph went to sleep at 7.15pm - my, did I do a happy dance. Woke for a sleepy feed at 2am but by the time I got to him, he was fully awake. 3 hours later after much merriment and yells of indignation, he went back to sleep. Then we had the 3rd xet of jabs at 9am, I was like a zombie! Joe babbled v v loudly in the waiting room-he sounds like a creaking door. Screamed as expected at the jabs but the good news is his weight - he weighed in at 14lb 10. He's put on 24oz in 2 weeks. After all our earier worries I got back to the car and had a little cry of relief . He's asleep now.

Love to all x

devilsadvocaat · 04/02/2010 17:13

ds1 had sf jab today. didn't bat an eyelid and was quite pleased about getting a jellybaby and sticker

HumphreysCorner · 04/02/2010 18:03

HT-that is a good weight gain.

Have made up a bottle of sugar water but he is not keen. Trumping like a trouper so will keep offering the bottle.

M has done a poo-yay!!! Only a small one but better than nothing.

OP posts:
CalypsoFramboise · 04/02/2010 19:33

HT 24oz in 2 weeks wow that really is fabulous! Lucky you.
Had Annalise weighed and she'd put on 6oz in 8 days so not too bad considering that she'd put on only 1oz in the previous 2weeks. Nothing I can think of is different so why the big change?! Looks like she'll be sticking to the 2nd centile for now, where I am myself, so I hope she is completely fine and just taking after her mummy...

Off to have a glass of wine to celebrate my baby's relatively modest weight gain (still reeling from 24oz!!)

Hope we all have a good night
x

CalypsoFramboise · 04/02/2010 19:38

HC yay for the bowel movement

devilsadvocaat · 04/02/2010 19:58

ah the things we mums talk about

HappyTangerine · 04/02/2010 23:27

HC -Yay for the poo! Didn't think it would be long.

Calypso Thats fantastic news about Annalise's weight gain, well done to you both. I don't understand Joseph's 24oz, it's like he's having a mad month long growth spurt. In the day I can only get him to feed for 10-12 mins on each side, he gets so distracted by his surroundings. It must be the night feeds, he feeds a lot in his sleep in the early hours. The night wakings are a killer but they are happening less. He wakes up at 3am cooing and playful but I can be very dull at 3 in the morning . Don't think I will ever understand bf and weight gain I just know that it's v v stressful.

fidelma have you found us all on facebooj yet?

HappyTangerine · 04/02/2010 23:30

ahem that was meant to be facebook-time for bed methinks x

rubyslippers · 05/02/2010 08:17

yay for poo and weight gains!!

Ruby is still up a lot - every 3 hours last night BUT and this is good news she can settle herself to sleep

been putting her down awake for naps for about 2 weeks - graduated from unlatching her and letting her fall asleep in my arms, to putting her down awake in the cot and patting her bum

now i can put her down and she goes to sleep and now she is doing that at night!

Also, for the past couple of nights she has gone to bed AWAKE - and then settles herslef after her night feeds - am hoping taht this may help her sleep generally

am going to catch up with the rest of the thread now but hope everyone is ok
xx

Clothilde · 05/02/2010 08:45

Hurrah for all the babies guzzling and putting on weight.

I found out I was pregnant at around 4 weeks. I hadn't been TTC, but was actually going to start trying the following month, but I woke up one morning and thought that I felt pregnant, so I did a test that I had lying around from last time and got a teeny tiny faint line. I had no idea when my last period had been so I went out and got one of those swanky tests that tell you how pregnant you are and spent the rest of the day in a state of shock.

HT I did sign and sign throught he dvds with the Rosebud, and it was great - she used lots and lots of signs and could communicate very well before she started speaking. She has very good language skills, but I have no idea if that's related.

sammysam · 05/02/2010 10:02

Hi All-I haven't been around for so long-not since Zoe was a few weeks old partly because things have been so crazy-we moved house (with a weeks notice) on the 22nd Dec-exchanging and completing on the same day-when I was just getting over flu. It was an interesting christmas! Plus now I'm madly trying to arrange everything for our wedding in June, so I've been completely avoiding mn as it tends to just swallow all of my time up! However-I noticed some mention on FB-and since that also takes my time up-i've requested to join if that is ok?
I will try and catch up with everyones news...
Zoe is doing well-bfing like a trouper, waking in the night and gaining weight (i think-haven't had her weighed since her last jabs-next ones on tues) She is a very happy and content little girl-very unlike her big sister!

I hope everyone is ok x x x

smallone · 05/02/2010 10:04

Calypso Hurrah for 6oz, thats perfect. Well done.

I agree bf and weight charts don't seem to be compatable and I do wish that the HVs didn't harp on about them so much. Poor things having to hit targets from the moment they're born, if they weren't there, chances are we wouldn't notice the difference.

Thought I was pg at 3wks coz I was getting mild morning sickness but waited till 4wks (9th Feb) to do a test.

I did sing and sign too. It was fab, dd is exactly the same as her peers in terms of speaking but it was so much easier pre speach as they can communicate with you and don't get so frustrated. It also helped if someone else was looking after her coz they don't know her "ways" but she was able to "tell" them what she wanted. We started at 6mo but she didn't sign back til 9mo, but then there was no stopping her. We did the dvds and gathered a few extra signs from Mr Tumble on Cbeebies.

twinklegreen · 05/02/2010 12:44
