We had a fab night out last night with fireworks and bonfire, lots of wine. R managed to last until 2am without a feed . I normally feed him twice by then so I am NOT feeding him and am going to make DH settle him if he wakes. Do you think I should feed him once in the night or see if he will go right through?? He is massive and doesn't feed greedily in the morning IYKWIM.

BLW DD, R and me all had crumpets for breakfast and they went down really well. R loved mushing them in his mouth.

febes- I really don't know what to suggest. If your DH is ok with settling him, then maybe you should just go for it, maybe offering water instead incase he is thirty? I am still feeding S, usually at around 11pm and 3am (but sometimes as early as 9.30) but my other DCs were just having the 11pm feed at this age, so I am sure he could manage without it. Not brave enough to try just settling him at 3am yet though.

belgian- i am sure some of DS2s screaming is due to his temperament/personality. But there were 3 other (youngers) babies there, who seemed quite settled and I just wished that S would be for once, or that people could see how lovely he is at home.

dh is off today for the other residential course this week at least so far we're all well and we will be able to get out and about this time and he'll hopefully make it back friday evening.

crumpets YUM

i've made thick pancake batter.. it's resting atm and i'll make them this afternoon for our cheer up daddyless treat dinner..

febes i'm sure ds had a final feed at about 11pm (but this time got earlier and earlier until he dropped it) and went through till 7am. when he'd fed in the night and wasn't hungry in the am i tried just water (with a teensy bit of sugar in for small calorie intake alla baby whisperer or GF can't remember which) after a few nights of that he slept through the night 11pm to 7am and was back to being hungry in am. G sleeps through so not had to do this with her.

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 08/11/2009 11:10

Thanks Pula and Fi I think I will go to bed this evening armed with a sipper cup of water and my elbows ready to jab DH to give him a sip. My HV has suggested I try it as well. I'll see how it goes and then maybe keep the 11pm feed if he can't make it.

DH is realllllly hungover he never gets hungover so I'm kind of enjoying it. He doesn't even want to work on the conservatory so is slumped on the couch and DD is giving him all her toys and generally being loud around him. Hehe.

Hi all
still a vom-fest here and dh now has it and I feel dopey we took it n turns to sit up with a thtough the night. She wasn't sick all night until I picked her up at 6am then was ok having little feeds every hour until 12. Is now asleep on my lap after demanding a double boober so hopefully she is on the mend. I am exhausted

runningmonkey · 08/11/2009 14:34

That should have said ropey!!
Dopey indeed

FiByTheSea · 08/11/2009 14:34

G is sound asleep atm for more than the usual short nap so decided to make the pancakes we're having for dinner. all done now but not quite as many as I planned due to ds wanting to eat some now. can't believe he's eaten 5 on the trot as not long since he'd had a full lunch

HeadlessLadyH · 08/11/2009 14:41

FiByTheSea · 08/11/2009 14:54
