VampyJenn · 29/10/2009 11:51

ds puked again last night! Aghhhhh

zombie Do you have the same window cleaner as me? [snigger] toothless, drunken, knocking twice because he's forgotten you've already paid him window cleaner?

Salemchocolates · 29/10/2009 12:15

No, no. I'm Spartacus

heebee It took me about half an hour to remember what plaster analogy you were talking about. Got it now! Boxes! Packing! How is it going with the packing now?

MN is still playing up here too. Hope it gets fixed soon. It's v. annoying to have this blank top screen. On the other hand, the pages seem to be loading much more quickly now.

running WOOOHOOO Go A! You must be feeling brilliant today!

jenn Poor ds. Have you gone to the gps? dd1 had a week of being sick a couple of years ago. It kept stopping and starting. She seemed OK otherwise, no temp or anything. Anyway, he prescribed her something, because he thought it was more like an irritated stomach and it worked.

window cleaners Our old window cleaner tended to turn up before big football matches, world cup type matches, IYKWIM I suspect he was collecting beer money, so we used to only get our windows cleaned a handful of times a year.

headless I hope your visit to your inlaws will go well. Try and sneak onto the computer if you can for some moral support

DS got his first ever knock on the door to come out and play in his life. He was very excited. The only thing is that he didn't tell me and would just have dissapeared off if I hadn't overheard it. So told him to always tell me even if it's a friend.

C didn't have the best night. Back to waking at 3.30 and then she was up for play at 6. By 8 I managed to convince her to go back to sleep, but she woke after 10 min. So I took her downstairs, we had breakfast and then I took a bath together with her because DH was still home. That really tired her out and now she's been sleeping for nearly 2h! I had promissed to take the eldest 2 swimming, but C is still full of cold and dh has now gone to work, so I think I'll have to leave it.

Salemchocolates · 29/10/2009 13:16

I was tidying some stuff and found C's 12 (well more like 13) week scan picture and from the date on it I realised it's exactly a year since. I year ago she was a tiny little alien in my belly. Aaaah

EtherealFiByTheSea · 29/10/2009 13:19

Throat still very sore, coughing is OWwy & feeling generally sorry for myself today. The only thing that i've found to help soothe it is ice cream honey didn't do much... any other suggestions for a bfeeding compatible remedy? i've only got half a tub of ice cream left!

OP posts:
Salemchocolates · 29/10/2009 14:08

Fi,

Soothers or similar throat pastilles are fine when bf. They like to put warnings for bf mums on labels, becaus drugs aren't tested on bf mums for ethical reasons, however the otc throat pastilles are so low in dosage that it's unlikely to get into your bm, unless you go and eat ridiculous amounts of them in one go off course.

Salemchocolates · 29/10/2009 14:09

lol, I wrote that like I was writing an e-mail or something

VampyJenn · 29/10/2009 14:24

salem I was wondering that. Dd1 had it a few years ago. Every 24 hours she would be sick violently. I didn't want to take him to the Drs, if it's contagious, then sick people don't want to get it.

Fi you can take paracetamol and ibuprofen while bf, I've just deleted a big post and will facebook you.

VampyJenn · 29/10/2009 14:29

done

Monstermomi · 29/10/2009 14:37

Fi, ice cream works for me .

along the 'sparticus' line... remember this one:

Monstermomi · 29/10/2009 14:37

Oh Captain, my Captain!

Monstermomi · 29/10/2009 14:39

showing my age.

VampyJenn · 29/10/2009 15:45

You know, I've no idea what you lot are talking about, and I'm older than Sophie. Is that a Dad's Army reference Momi?

EtherealFiByTheSea · 29/10/2009 15:56

Thanks belgian & jenn.. i'm continuing ice cream for today but will have to venture out tomorrow as G has her last lot of jabs in the pm so will pop into chemist then.

Proud mummy alert.. G has started rolling, rolling, rolling today.. back.. front.. back.. front then forgets how to roll and whinges until i help her onto her back.. then off she goes again! when she's on her tummy she's even drawing up her legs trying to crawl

OP posts:
EtherealFiByTheSea · 29/10/2009 16:28

captain.. lost on me too & I'll be 40 next year!

OP posts:
Toffeeapplemmum · 29/10/2009 16:54

Think Momi was referring to a film with Robin Williams based in a boys prep school... but I could be barking up the wrong tree.

G is much better today so I am looking fwd to potential sleep tonight. This happiness is tempered by the news that parents-in-law are here for the weekend. They are sooooooo annoying, they are annoying me before they are even here. Normally FIL sleeps in the caravan (as they are sort-of splitting up, and we have one guest room). The caravan has been sold and is being picked up tomorrow, so FIL has gotten the arse that he will be sleeping on the playroom floor. He is more than welcome to check himself (or MIL) into the hotel up the road, but he's too tight for that, so all weekend we will be subject to comments about not having a bed, no doubt.

Fi sending get-well-soon-vibes your way. Very impressive rolling by G

Jenn hope that the Drs can shed some light on what is causing the puke. Don't envy you at all.

Salemchocs wishing you more sleep today as well. How are the DC surviving half term?

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 29/10/2009 17:08

dead poets' society

Salemchocolates · 29/10/2009 18:08

I really like Dead Poets' Society. How could I not have recognised the Captain thing

Toffee Thanks for that. Hope your night will be better too. Am currently lugging C around everywhere in the sling as she's been tired and grumpy for the last half an hour, but really need her to get into the new winter time schedule. Hope your PIL will behave during their stay. Half term has been OK so far. Too much nintendo DS for them though Still today we did their creative home work. There were several levels, but I managed to combine the 2. Dd1 had to bake a cake with an adult and ds had to read instructions. So he read the recipe and dd1 made it and together we're going to eat it for desert

You know... My DH... I sometimes despair. He got up first for once today and got down, the eldest 2 were already down. He made his own porridge, own tea and the dcs had nothing. I usually just put his porridge on the hob and then do the dcs while that is cooking. Then after breakfast me and C shared a bath for once and when I came down the dcs were still in their PJ's (it was 10 o'clock by then) and I know they would have been in them all day if I hadn't said anything. It's like he doesn't think when it comes about the dcs. He does homework, playing with them/takes them out, but those simple every day things he just sort of forgets or ignores and waits for me to say something. He doesn't even have to dress the dcs, they're old enough. All he had to do while I was in the bath was say "ds, dd, get dressed please" How difficult is that?!

runningscared · 29/10/2009 20:43

Evening all,

Salem I think its men! They just don't do multitasking v well so making brekkie and thinking about the dc's just doesn't work. Mine does it all the time, its little things like not noticing bins that need emptying that drive me insane

Ooh momi I really want to watch that now, I was so in love with the boy from that when I was younger. Can't even remember his name now

toffee so glad to hear G is on the mend

jenn hope your lo's are getting better too, any help from the GP?

Fi hope throat feels better, I used to get tonsilitis all the time when I was younger - hot squash always helped, still does when I'm feeling poorly.

Loving the window cleaner stories. Not sure I should admit this but in our old house we didn't have the windows cleaned once. In 7 years

Well its been an eventful day, after the fab night A was on top form this morning and grabbed and ate a big chunk of banana out of DH's breakfast bowl this morning. Not 6 months yet but think thats a good sign she's ready for some food! As she can sit unaided as well, DH and I have decided to start v slowly slowly with the BLW doing fruit and veg only to begin with. I offered her a stick of cucumber and she grabbed it and gave it a good gumming .

Then I went to lunch with some old friends. A was v grouchy and clingy and not interested in her bottle. Gave her a finger to suck and guess what, she bit me!! Since this morning one of her bottom teeth had come through . Since then she's been back to happy self, had a bit more cucumber and a bit of pear for tea which she loved although she found it v difficult to hold but had great fun sucking the juice off her fingers . She's now been asleep since 7.30 although I can hear her wriggling on the monitor...

Sorry, turned into an epic. Hope I haven't missed anyone.

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 29/10/2009 20:48

Ooh! Dead Poets! Haven't seen that for ages!

Running - Happy Birthday for tomorrow

O has been asleep so far since 7.10pm and I managed to make a scrummy spag bol for tea which DH actually voluntarily complimented me on!!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 29/10/2009 20:50

x-posted running !

Sounds like A is definitely ready. The biting is not nice is it!! O keeps getting tooth marks on his toes so I'm hoping he will eventually learn!

Jael · 29/10/2009 20:56

Hiya everyone.
Only had time for a quick skim am in a rush again as DP wants the comp, very hectic day, had fun-day at our church so DD has been doing loads of fun stuff there, then we had lunch out with my mom and took the DC to play at the local "wacky warehouse" type place. J enjoyed it too. Got V. excited sitting in the ball pit lol

I don't know who Spartacus is, apart from the character in Lazytown but I'm guessing from my quick read that's not who you were on about so do excuse me lol

Hope everyone's ok.

Hope those with poorly DC are on the road to recovery...

I've got my pumpkins to carve tomorrow ready for Saturday, got a very busy weekend planned for halloween, so I probably won't be on. Hope you have a wonderful day Sausage

Jael XXX

runningscared · 29/10/2009 20:57

Thanks Ses Hope O has a good night. at the voluntary compliment, ikwym!

I am quite excited as we're off to N Wales tomorrow to visit one of my brothers for a long weekend. I love spending time with him and I get to meet his new gf for the first time too.

zombietom · 29/10/2009 21:08

Salem reading about you finding your scan photo exactly a year later has made me feel a bit emotional

Jenn don't think it is the same builder- although he has forgotten to come and collect payment today. BTW how are your DCs?

at Running's A growing a tooth during the morning

No teeth here just gallons of dribble
Looked at the list of most popular boy's names for 2008 today and Jake was no. 24- common as muck we are

FrightNightFebes · 29/10/2009 21:32

Hi everyone

Still no news from Sexybuilder? Or Grumpy .

Not much to report here either. DD just woke up after 2 hours asleep so I hope thats not a sign of things to come. R is STILL waling every 2 hours over night. Not sure what more I can do. He is feeding lots in the day and is on 3 small meals now which he loves. He ate toast today. He has great coordination at getting food in his mouth and chews really well with no gagging yet. Much better than DD was at the same stage.

Monstermomi · 29/10/2009 21:32

hi all.
yyyeess. Dead Poets Society. O captain, my captain. you know at the end. when they all say it, one by one, and stand on the desks. oh, I want to see that now.

you ebayers: do you ever want to say/email F*CK off to those who bid over you at the very last second? I'm trying to buy some clothes for dd1 but keep losing them to people who come in at the last moment. very frustrating.
