Here we go...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 28/10/2009 22:16

I've not seen that. DH has just gone to bed and O has been asleep for 80mins now so I'm in the unusal position of being downstairs on my own! The freedom!!!

VampyJenn · 28/10/2009 22:18

Ahhh new code release! Of course! WTF does that mean? Mn buggered for me too.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 22:23

code isn't it the operating system/framework thingy?

OP posts:
GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 28/10/2009 22:25

Aaah!! He wakes!!! I'm off to bed and to try and get O back to sleep.
Hope everyone has good nights!

Monstermomi · 28/10/2009 22:32

yep. MN looking really odd to me as well.

I watched the Heston Blumenthal/Little chef program and didn't know the next LC to get the HB treatment is in York! A new reason to try little Chef again.

ScarySpangleMaker · 28/10/2009 22:40

Ses hope you enjoyed your freedom while it lasted.

I've a policy not to do those FB things like Farmville, apart from the odd quiz. I already spend way too much time at the laptop, in fact if it weren't for H distracting me I'd be needing one of those health and safety assessments.

Thanks for the sympathies re the commute. I hate it, especially as the shortsighted gits jolly nice people at DfT (my employers) saw fit to slash the train services from my local station. I'm often travelling to Birmingham and London too. Don't know how I will fit all that in with nursery pick ups but we will have to find a way. Unfortunately there's no way I can find a similarly well paid job more locally so I'll just have to manage. At least I'll get a bit of 'me' time on the train!

VampyJenn · 28/10/2009 22:41

bum I've just lost a whole post

The code thing means absolutely nothing to me, but I'm sure they'll get it fixed soon.

ses Hope you get O to sleep and have a good night.

Managed to knit a third of a scarf for dd1 tonight. Just need to hide it. The first one I started got ruined when she was playing with it and dropped some stitches. I tried for a couple of hours to pick them up, but because it's that furry fluffy wool you can't unravel it as it just gets knotted.

Night all.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 28/10/2009 22:45

Quick hello!

spangle - sympathy for the commute, mine's similar (90 mins!) so know how you feel.

Was watching the Little Chef thing too, Kettering is on the list, we go past that one on the way to Wales so might have to stop to investigate!

Code stuff annoying!

Right, told youit was quick. Night all! See you tomorrow!

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 28/10/2009 22:51

Evening!

Spangle @ walk of shame

running

  • Hope you're enjoying your birthday night out
  • Nice idea but no, sexybuilder most definitely wasn't me. However, I do have an alter ego in mind for our Christmas party ... I suspect the place will be teeming with sexybuilder, builder's mates and the like it will be a case of 'I'm Spartacus!'

Jenn

  • You should definitely wear your porn shoes to our pretend virtual Christmas party.
  • @ WTF is code release. Code is the programming that makes the website work - it's the 'writing' behind the website. So basically, they've updated the MN software.

muddled Lovely to see you back! And we need to get you a halloween name pronto (whether you want one or not - you're one us, you'll submit to peer pressure )
Am putting on my thinking cap pointy hat ...

sausage Am thinking of you and wishing you all the best x

toffeeapple Poor you with sick baby. My DS has been ill on and off these past few weeks but nothing as bad as that, I really sympathise.

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 28/10/2009 22:59

Just noticed by seeing flippin's post -then checking out mine - that one benefit is our full halloween names are now shown. Only affects those of us with ridiculously long names

Monstermomi · 29/10/2009 06:27

I am spartacus!

runningscared · 29/10/2009 07:31

No I'm Spartacus

well I'll be back properly later but just had to pop on with a woo hoo. A slept 7.30 until 4.30 in her cot. In her own room. Then fed and slept until 6.45 when she got woken up by leaky wet nappy.

Sorry if this sounds gloaty but I am so excited I had to tell you - tis themost sleep we've all had since A was born

back later x x

flippineckitsabitspooky · 29/10/2009 08:23

running - yay!!

My A slept from 8 until 2:30, had a feed, went back to sleep and woke at 5:30 - this week, days start at 5:30 . Bizarrely though, DD1 slept until 7:15, it's normally before 6. A has gone back to sleep now.

I'm just trying to decide what to do today. It's a bit dull and damp here. We're meeting friends for lunch so I'm tempted to stay in this morning.

Do you ever have reminders that sometimes you are the kind of parent you don't want to be? Last night when DD1 was in the bath, she said to DH 'you are annoying me a bit' - she didn't mean it of course but I think I know where she got that from but more . Her whiny phase hasn't improved, my patience is definitely a lot thinner than it should be.

Still haven't managed to talk to the HV, she hasn't phoned me yet. I went to the baby clinic yesterday to get A weighed (14lb 12ozs! still firmly on the 25th) and asked HV's colleague if she (my HV) is around. Colleague promised to remind her to call me, but I'll try to call her too.

zombietom · 29/10/2009 08:24

I'm Spartacus

zombietom · 29/10/2009 08:31

running good news on the sleep- we had a brilliant night here too

Oh dear, window cleaner is here and I am sat in my bombsite of a living room wearing checked pj bottoms and a fluffy green jumper- how embarrasing

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 29/10/2009 09:07

I'm Spartacus!!

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 29/10/2009 09:09

No, I'm Spartacus

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 29/10/2009 09:10

running - great news on the sleep. We also had a better night but that still meant not settling until gone 8.30pm, waking up at 11.30pm and 1.15am and then coming into bed before 2am for the rest of the night...

zombie - I'm sure your window cleaner sees all sorts! By the way, is he a sexy window cleaner ?

DS is having great fun this morning rolling around on the floor in front of Fireman Sam (seems to be a favourite!) He's pushing up on his back legs and getting frustrated that he can't just move across the room. He is managing a bit of commando crawling though
I'm going to get him weighed later as it's been 3 weeks. I'm guessing he'l be around 17lb but his bug may have slowed him down a bit.

Monstermomi · 29/10/2009 09:17

zombie, you've reminded me I have to call a window cleaner (our old window cleaner 'sacked' us for not trimming our front hedge ).

well done on the sleeping flippin. gloat away!

flippin, my DD1 told Harper today to Shut Up, a phrase I find quite harsh but know she must have picked up from me . really, really must try to watch what i say

going to tidy up our mess-of-a-house before a friend comes round for coffee, buns and chat about my boss situation (she's in HR).

Hope all of you are well today.

ScarySpangleMaker · 29/10/2009 09:23

Ses at 'back legs'. I'm sure I've said that too (comes from having a cat!).

Momi at window cleaner sacking you. DH cleans our windows once every two years, whether they need it or not.

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 29/10/2009 09:25

running, ses, zombie - hurrah for good sleepers! We had another great night here - 9.15pm - 6.30am, hurrah. I thought it would be broken due to F's cold but didn't hear a peep from him.

(peep?! wth??)

spangle I have every sympathy re your commute. From where I am now to the Manchester office it's 92 miles each way, ouch. I used to do 3 days a week in the office and 2 at home. On a good day it would be 1 hr 45 each way but it could easily take a good 2 hr 30. I couldn't have faced it every day. Where do you live and where in Manchester is the office? Can you work from home? The plan for me was to drop down to 1 day a week in the office (or none) with other travelling as required but now that's what's up in the air and making me nervous. I would also struggle to get a similar job in north Cumbria.

salem loved your plaster analogy, made me

It's my last NCT girls' lunch today before the move. Am very as have made some great friends. We are all being bad mummies and dressing the babies up in Hallowe'en outfits, poor things! And to think before I had a baby I swore I would never buy novelty items for him!!

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 29/10/2009 09:26

momi & spangle - lol at both window cleaning related anecdotes!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 29/10/2009 09:46

"Back legs" !!!
Where did that come from??! I guess - like you say Spangle - could be as I'm used to cats/dogs

EtherealFiByTheSea · 29/10/2009 10:18

grrr i've given up trying to post from my phone since the new mn code update it's not working any more... complete disaster!!!!!!!!!!

BTW actually I'm Sparticus*
