Morning everyone,

A much better night here. C seems to be back to 11 o'clock dream feed and then a 5.30 feed. I feel so much more human today. Her cold seems to be better too and she's got a 2nd tooth, so maybe it was a bit of a combination of the 2?

Dandy Gosh you made me laugh! Your Ann Robinson lines are so funny. I'm surprised sexybuilder hasn't been lured by your promisses of hard cash

Tum I hope the croup goes soon. Poor G.

fi I might have to start a fb farm too and then I'll become your neighbour. I'm getting tuns of invitations for it too.

muddled Welcome back. The hen night was briliant.

ses I misread your post obviously. I thought it was your dh choosing your shoes

llare Like that site. Great idea to be able to design your own clothes and made to measure too.

looby about your nan. We've got the same happening here. About 3y ago my nan broke her hip and ever since she's been going downhill. I hope this wont happen to your nan. Falls at that age can be pretty serious.

Talking about my nan. My mum has managed to arrange a 2 week stay in a care home for her. It's the same place where most of her friends are living now, so hopefully she'll like it there and understand why we would like her to go and live there. She's agreed to go, because my parents and my cousin and her DH are coming here for a week next week, which would mean there is hardly any family left who can go and see her if there are any problems while my parents are here.

Hope I've remembered everyone. If not, my apologies!

VampyJenn · 28/10/2009 11:11

Morning all. Crap night here as dd2 is not behaving

Momi Are you a member of a union? They are often very helpful with disputes and give free legal advice. I'm sure you could join now with a problem in hand too.

looby Sorry to hear about your nan. Hope you get to see her soon.

Reebee Get thee back packing. (Just re-read that and obviously don't mean get out a rucksack and bog off round the world) It took me a couple of months to pack up our old house. I know what you mean though, the longer you leave it, the more there is to read, the less likely you will be posting for a few weeks.

Fi Sorry I ignored your request last night. I'm very boring and don't do any of the farms or fairy lands or aquariums. I spend too long on 'puter as it is. Hope you feel a bit better soon.

Tummum Hope G feels better soon. Poor poor boy.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 11:36

jenn how are your poorly ones? any better? ikwym about the fb apps normally I don't bother either so totally understand. unfortunately i can't farm from my phone.. that'd be very addictive so just eves for me when laptop is free.

salem hope your nan likes the home.. or at the very least has a good time with her friends. if you have a spare min when the dc's are in bed tonight i'd be delighted to have you as my farm neighbour

OP posts:
VampyJenn · 28/10/2009 12:14

fi well i now know why dd2 was a bit unsettled in the night! sICK 3 TIMES SO FAR THIS MORNING. [SAD] OOPS. got to go.

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 28/10/2009 12:30

Well, how fab was saus's virtual hen night?! Can't believe I missed it. It made me laugh. A lot.

Sausage good luck for the wedding!

Jenn oh no re your DD2 - poor thing. I have packed all books, CDs and DVDs. The nice man says I don't have to empty any chests-of-drawers, blanket box etc so not as bad as it might be. He's coming with more boxes today and then I'll be onto best crockery and glassware from the sideboard. Woo hoo and all that jazz. Felix is terrified of the noise of the parcel tape dispenser though - his little face crumples, he goes bright red and starts screaming. And have you ever tried to parcel tape boxes silently? It takes hours and is still not very successful! I spend ages inching the roll along the box and as soon as there is the tiniest iota of noise 'Waaah... waah!!!' off he goes...

Tummum poor G - saw your FB status the other day; sounds horrid.

Momi hope you enjoyed your anniversary, and good that the email wasn't as bad the second time you read it.

spangle sounds like we're in similar positions in that I've now been told I still have a job with the company but not an actual role to fill. It's not great, is it?! My boss has been to our COO and he has asked HR to sort something out but of course we're moving house on the strength of me being home-based or a max of 2 days a week in Manchester so a bit concerned about what they might find me.

Right, F asleep (full of cold) so am going to warm up some ready made soup make a delicious lunch for DH and me.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 12:51

jenn oh no! that's awful poor dd2.. is ds on the mend now? i hope this last lot is the very last of it..

reebee well done on the packing.. G has the same kind of reaction to your F has with tape when I open the post

OP posts:
Monstermomi · 28/10/2009 15:04

Jenn, poor dd2. hope your LOs are better soon.

reebee, hope you're having fun packing!

Fi, i may do the farm as well but until now have done the same as Jenn and ignore the apps.

we've been to the pictures today, Harper and I, to see The fantastic Mr Fox. Really good and nice to get an excuse for an extended cuddle with Harper as well as escape the Real World.

A bit mad in city centre though with school hols, rivers of people. Just went straight to the cinema and straight back home. I don't do crowds .

runningscared · 28/10/2009 15:31

Hi All, Mum here at the mo so been reading when I can but no time to post. She's taken A out for a walk so I can have a bit of me time and get ready for my birthday dinner out with DH tonight (b'day is Fri). No idea what to wear but I am sitting here with hair dye on and my head wrapped in clingfilm so at least the grey hair won't be visible

The hen night sounded brilliant, I wish I was able to admit to being sexybuilder but I'm just not that witty . I reckon it was dandy using an alter ego and her super-sleuthing has just been an elegant ruse to throw us off the scent

Far too much to namecheck all but jenn and tumm hope your poorly lo's are ok and saus you are prob away by now but all the best for the weekend, will be thinking of you on Sat and can't wait to see the pics, your dress sounds fabulous.

xx

pulapumpkin · 28/10/2009 15:43

Hi everyone, I'm back home after being at my mum, and already fed up. DD is driving me potty (back to school next week ) and DS2 is practising 2 new noises- one is a cute "ooooo" and the other is a squeal/scream which isn't quite so nice.

DS2 also didn't sleep well there, so i am feeling tired still. Will namecheck later when i have had chance to catch up - 436 messages on the new thread already

ScarySpangleMaker · 28/10/2009 17:08

I'm back after Dandy sent me off on the walk of shame last night

So sexybuilder can't be an actual builder (boo) if (s)he is not lured by hard cash!

Looby sorry to hear about your DH's nan. I hope she recovers ok.

ReeBee good luck with the rest of the packing and your move. H gets frightened by noises like that too. BTW I shall also be working in Manchester when I go back. It'll be a long commute for you, won't it? My journey's about 1hr 10min plus each way (and over £12 per day). That's the worst part I think, if work was around the corner I don't think I'd mind going back so much.

TrickOrTReggiee · 28/10/2009 18:55

Ok, own up. Who passed me the sickness bug?? There's plenty of it here. I was vomiting most of yesterday afternoon and as weak as a kitten today (miouw). Great when you're looking after a baby. And a potty training toddler. Gradually perking up though so may attempt a crumpet soon. .

Who broke MN too? I've a huge white space at the top of my screen. Need sexybuilder here to fix it please.

Running hope you have a good evening tonight. Momi did you have a lovely anniversary evening?

Muddled/Ses hope you've both recovered from your weekends away and some sort of normality is taking over.

Reebee/Fi sorry but pmsl about being quiet around the dc - opening the post made me lol. Dd was frightened of any noise louder than a mouse whispering, but so far ds seems a little less sensitive.

Looby sorry to hear about your dh's nan.

Salemchocolates · 28/10/2009 19:35

reggie Hope you're feeling better soon. I thought it was my computer, but clearly I@m not the only one with a broken MN. For a sec I thought I had lost the thread.

reebee C didn't like the parcel tape sounds either when I was packing. It used to startle her and then she'd scream, I went for the loud but quick technique in the end. You know like when you take a plaster off, sharp but quick

momi We went to see "the Fantastic Mr Fox" (or Tantastic Mr Fox as dd1 calls it) too. It was a lovely film. Luckily the eldest 2 are old enough to be left in their seat for a bit, because for the last 20 min C was tired and I ended up having to sling her and pace the bit by the door to keep her quiet. I could still see the other 2 though, but I don't think they could see me.

pula Hope you're enjoying time with your mum.

I wonder how saus is getting on.

sausagemonstermash · 28/10/2009 19:59

helloooo

Just a quickie (with sexybuilder, fnar) to say hello. Am at parents and have been helping tidy up and organise 'things'. Have carved out 3 pumpkins - never done it before, so was quite chuffed!

Rehearsal tomorrow.....!!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 20:40

reggie poor you i hope you're feeling better tomorrow..

sausage have fun at the rehearsal tomorrow & carving pumpkins... that's something i've not done in years. I should get one to do with DS... now he's older h'd probably enjoy it.

running how did your hair dye turn out?

spangle/reebee they sound like dreadfully long commutes

MN being weird for me too.

OP posts:
Monstermomi · 28/10/2009 20:44

sausage, sounds like things are going well and hope rehearsal tomorrow is likewise. the Big Day is almost here! It will be such a happy day.

reggiee sorry you're poorly, hope you get well soon. x had a lovely evening last night, thank you. poor DH didn't, ahem, 'get any'... i'm just not in the mood lately and can't make myself. other than that, the champagne, takeaway, chocs and DH were scrummy.

salem, yes the film was quite sweet. harper seems to enjoy watching films as well. unlike my other 2 who ignored television in their first 2 years, H is very fascinated by moving pictures.

spangle, can't believe your commute time!

pula, welcome back home and hope you relax this evening.

Salemchocolates · 28/10/2009 21:27

momi C is also a lot more interested by telly than her siblings at this age. Dd1 never used to watch at all until 18m or so, despite it being on for her db.

spangle Also about your commute time. It must be so hard.

sausage Enjoy the pumpkin carving and rehersal

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 28/10/2009 21:46

Reggiee - sorry you've got the bug. Hope it clears up quickly for you.

Momi / Salem - O loves tv too. Seems to like his morning dose of Fireman Sam. Infact when he was grizzly earlier, I sang him the theme tune and he gave me a big smile

MN strange here too. I thought it was my laptop (I have it back and it works this time!!)

Fi - now I have my laptop back and can log on to Farmville, I have 86 FV requests!!!! Could take me a while! Glad to have you as a neighbour though

saus - thinking of you. Pumplin carving sounds great!

Pula - welcome back!

Spangle - lol at sexybuilder obviously not being an actual builder!!

Running - me time sounds good!

Jenn - hope DD2 gets better soon. No fun

We could be mad, but we've booked up for a 4 day weekend at Center Parks in Feb together with the other 5 couples and babies in our NCT group. Think it will be fun but chaotic!!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 22:05

ses 86 FV requests I thought my 50odd various notifications were enough...

OP posts:
EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 22:08

never been to centre parks.. but have heard great things...

OP posts:
GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 28/10/2009 22:09

I've managed to reduce it a bit but it will only let you accept 30 gifts a day!!

I'm just watching Question Time I sky+ed from last week with Nick Griffin from the BNP. I think it was a great move by the BBC as he's being made to look really silly (to put it mildly & politely!)

EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 22:09

ahhh aparently our MN glitches are due to a MN new code release... there's a thread in most active and they're working through reported probs...

OP posts:
EtherealFiByTheSea · 28/10/2009 22:11
