saus - hope all the build up to the big day goes ok.

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 27/10/2009 21:47

In fairness to my mother I did get DS2's birth date wrong. But that is because I went into hospital to be induced on the 28th and delivered on the 29th in the weeks that followed I did get mixed up a few times. But she has had 3 years to get the hang of DS1.

Anyway, shoes. I have lots of now unworn shoes because I can only manage flats with the boys. I'd love an occasion to wear heels again but weirdly my feet have shrunk since I've lost weight so I probably need to buy new ones first!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 27/10/2009 21:48

Oops!

llaregguBOO · 27/10/2009 21:48

Oh, and masses of good luck sausage!

momi - that letter from your line manager is shocking, she's on seriously dodgy ground there. Good advice from everyone else.

jenn - two days sounds quite appealing to me. I have a friend who did a compressed week at work, full time hours but over four days not five; a bit different to your situation but it worked really well for her.

I like excuses for parties. Do you think sexybuilder would join us under the mistletoe?

llaregub at your mother!

I'm planning my christmas cake making. Do I play it safe and use a recipe that I've made loads before, or do I take a chance and try something different? Anyone got any good recipes? Ah, d'you know what? Doesn't matter about the cake really, everyone knows christmas cake is just a good excuse to eat marzipan, yum.

zombietom · 27/10/2009 21:55

flippin Yes, just ice a huge slab of marzipan-yum

Salemchocolates · 27/10/2009 21:55

llare at your mum. Getting the date wrong is one thing, but trying to convince you, ds1's very own mum who went through the pain and hard work of bringing him into the world, that it is in fact you who has got the date wrong, now that's not right at all

saus It's the big countdown now! How exciting.

I saw a baby in Tesco today, I thought it was a nb because he was so tiny in my eyes, but he was 12 weeks old!

jenn Nice shoes! I think my DH would approve of your DH's taste in shoes

xmas party I'm up for it!

Right, better go and join DH now, before he feels too left out.

Night everyone.

VampyJenn · 27/10/2009 21:57

I'm 6 foot 2 in those shoes. Thank you Next for your new Tall range (coat with long sleeves). Trousers that are long enough.....even too long. The extra long trousers you can only get online are long enough!

Sausage not long now......have a fantastic day and best of luck.

Salemchocolates · 27/10/2009 21:58

I spotted the word marzipan just as I was about to log off. In Belgium they actually sell slabs of the stuff for St Nicholas (6 dec).

Night night again. This time for realy

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 27/10/2009 21:59

Aargh! DS has just woken for the second time this evening! Am sitting feeding him in bed now and MNing on my phone. If DH was trying to worm his way into my good books for some action tonight, his luck seems to be out!

zombietom · 27/10/2009 22:04

Ooo Jenn new coat? I'll have to check out the Next Tall range- I tried on every coat in every shop in the Trafford centre yesterday I think (last years coat went all bump shaped on the front )
salem I know what you mean about other babies seeming tiny- it's a cliche but they grow so fast don't they?

VampyJenn · 27/10/2009 22:04

Salem it was dd not dh who made me buy the shoes. Dh was

ScarySpangleMaker · 27/10/2009 22:05

Good luck saus We'll be thinking of you

llare YANBU - not normal behaviour. I guess you could have it out with your mum & brother but not worth it I imagine. I don't really like promoting gender stereotypes but most men find it difficult to remember birthdays. DH has no idea when his nieces' birthdays are, it's me who remembers and sorts out presents, cards etc. Your Mum though

Luurve Jenn's shoes. I'm another one with masses of high heels gathering dust. I'm a bit sad about it, but I just don't have the chance to wear them these days.

Must must must do something about work. I sent my line manager an email about 6 weeks ago asking when would be a good time to ring and he hasn't replied I'm in a bit of a complicated situation as I have a position to go back to but no actual role/job, and it's probably the responsibility of someone higher up than him to place me. But he could have bothered replying to me. Grr.

llaregguBOO · 27/10/2009 22:12

Oh spangle, I really can't be bothered with my mother. It is very typical behaviour. Sadly she is also a drinker and I guess I've got used to it now. It used to upset me but now it just irritates me.

Jenn wow, I'd love to be as tall as you. I came across this website the other day which allows you to design your own dresses to your own height and size etc. I'm going to use it as soon as I get an excuse but you might find it useful to get the right length dress?

Christmas party sounds like a good plan. Oy, sexybuilder can we book you?

EtherealFiByTheSea · 27/10/2009 22:15

do we have to wait until xmas for another party? maybe we could do a halloween party... then a thanksgiving one too?!

llaregguBOO · 27/10/2009 22:16

How about every Saturday night?

VampyJenn · 27/10/2009 22:18

Cool site boo.

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 27/10/2009 22:18

Fi - I like your thinking!

Right DS seems to be asleep again so going to try and transfer him back to his cot and get some sleep myself!

zombietom · 27/10/2009 22:19

Right I am off to bed with a choccy horlicks and my book

Will be dreaming about wearing high heels- when I was pg I was really looking forward to wearing heels again. I have been out in the evening only once since J was born and I wore flats.

Hope everyone has a good nights sleep
