MOOOOORRRNNNINNNNNGGGGG!!! How are we today?. Sounds like a cracking do last night. Pmsl at the goings on .

Would love a bacon butty Running but think we should have sausage butty in honour of our hen.

Welcome back Ses. Did you have a good time seeing the family?

Congrats on your anniversary Momi. You won't be on MN tonight then .

Looby family fun day sounds nice. Hope youhave fun.

Flippin 9 year olds? No idea. Seem like they're getting too old / they feel grown up at that sort of age for toys. I always get books / book token if short of ideas. Pretty stationery? Diary with a lock and key?

LoobyWooooooooh · 27/10/2009 08:42

M's just had her breakfast 3/4 of a wheatabix with milk - she ate the lot. Is this right? She's now having a BF and dozing off on me.

I really need to get in the shower but she's all stretched out and sleepy on me

EtherealFiByTheSea · 27/10/2009 08:44

happy anniversary momi

EtherealFiByTheSea · 27/10/2009 08:48

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.....

I have virtual bruises all up my legs.... Where are my shoooooooes? Who's is this phone number with lots of x's on and a note saying 'you were amazing can't wait till next time?' Honestly.

FAT coke and McD's brekky for me too please!

What a cracking night - better than my RL one!!!

Happy anniversary momi!!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 27/10/2009 09:09

saus - lol at virtual bruises (ouch!) and text message.

Momi - happy anniversary!

Regiee - we had a great time thanks despite O having a stomach bug that caused violent projectile vomiting and nasty nappies. Bless him, he didn't let it affect his mood too much and loved everyone making a fuss of him.

HeadlessLadyH · 27/10/2009 09:25

PMSL saus. Must have been that builder, eh??

momi Happy anniversary. Champers and nasi goreng. Yum.

flip I have some 7 year old girl twins to buy for for Xmas every year. I just head for BabyGap (oh I do love that shop!!) Or how about one of those girlie "pop princesses" compilation CDs? I think all I wanted at age 9 was a pony. Never got one tho!

HeadlessLadyH · 27/10/2009 09:27

Obviously the twins aren't 7 every year! Thats how that read isn't it? That would be something. I'd keep my 2 at age 6 months if I could halt time.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 27/10/2009 09:46

sexybuilder I've been wondering who it was and suddenly thought it could have been a lurker

Salemchocolates · 27/10/2009 10:01

Morning all,

Not too bad a hangover here. Nothing that a couple of paracetamol and loadsa water cant handle.

We had an OK night considering C went to sleep at 4.30 yesterday afternoon. She actually carried on until 8 am. that's a whopping 15.5h of sleep. It must be her cold. She woke when I left the party yesterday, probably cos her stomach is still set on old time and was wondering why her dream feed was an hour late. Then woke at 3.30 and 7 for a feed. Also got woken at 2 by dh coming back from work + other random times from C being snuffly and DH snoring

No exciting plans here. Maybe a spot of grocery shopping and definitely laundry.

Read in the paper this morning that children makes married people happier and the more dcs the happier they are!

Also wondering who sexybuilder was. Whoever it was, (s)he was brilliant!

sausagemonstermash · 27/10/2009 10:01

Eeeeek v embarrassing if sexybuilder was a lurker!

Headless - I'm off to babygap in a mo!!!

Salemchocolates · 27/10/2009 10:02

Oh, forgot: ses welcome back. Hope O's better now.

presents for 9 yo girls. No idea, but gift vouchers/books are not a bad idea. I think I did books for my 9yo nephew a few years ago for the same reason (he's 15 now, so it'll be equally hard to know what to get him)

flippineckitsabitspooky · 27/10/2009 10:09

Gift voucher might be a good idea. If you were a 9yo girl, which shop would you like a voucher for? Something like Gap? I'm a bit old fashioned and think Miss Selfridge is too old, but what about H&M?

ses - welcome back! Hope O is on the mend.

momi - happy anniversary. Am a bit , I love nasi goreng.

at thought of a lurker! We were in the most active bit for quite a long time, wonder if sexybuilder our shenanigans (sp?) will get a mention in the round up?!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 27/10/2009 10:15

round up forgot about that too.. you never know!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 27/10/2009 10:20

Happy anniversary momi Enjoy your indonesian meal tonight . One down side of living out in the sticks now is that there is only 1 takaway in the area and it's indian.

flippin I think H&M, New Look, Tammy in BHS are all quite popular with 9yo. From what I've seen when out and about in town anyway.

BTW talking about 9yo girls. I was totally , but also saddened by the amount of girls of that age I saw in high heeled shoes in town on Sat. The most worrying thing was that they were all out with their mums too. They were proper heels, maybe 2 inches high!

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 27/10/2009 11:20

Hello!

Just got up, am still in my Hen Night Housecoat. Need starch, sugar and fat

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 27/10/2009 11:21

btw, happy anniversary momi
If we had any champagne left over from last night, I'd raise a toast to you

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 27/10/2009 11:31

And where was jennster last night?

She's my fourth guess

Monstermomi · 27/10/2009 11:35

thanks all for the anniv wishes .
ladyH, i hope I'm not on MN tonight as that means I'm actually paying attention to DH and maybe he'll get Some tonight and .
ses, glad you had a good time and back safely.
sausage, hope you're feeling ok today! a lot of fun was had by all.

rant alert:
just received a nasty letter from my line manager. i asked her about the updated hours and pay (it's about 15 ish min hours a week and about minimum wage). it took her more than a week to reply and she used her reply to basically say i'm rubbish and my maternity cover has grown the area so much more than i did (i had the area for only 5 months before i went on ML and was already growing it... ). she also went on a spiel about how awful a job it is for mums with young children, etc. sounds like she doesn't want me back!

I haven't replied yet as her email made me feel so insecure, stupid, worthless, etc. everything that my recent counselling was trying to erase. how can i go back to this job with her as a Line manager? how can she say such things for a job that only pays 400 quid a month? i took a massive pay cut to take this job. i'm seriously thinking of working tesco till. what a lot of good my university degree did.

sorry to rant but the email turned my day sour. i'm letting the dd's get into godknowswhat downstairs. better go check them and turn my mood around so this day gets better. rant over.

any of you have such managers? i really want/need to find a replacement job by jan. no easy task.

Monstermomi · 27/10/2009 11:37

dandy, xposted. if you pop by quickly this eve, i'll pour you a glass of bubbly!

Monstermomi · 27/10/2009 11:41

my guess for sexybuilder was grumpy but not so sure now.

Toffeeapplemmum · 27/10/2009 12:31

Momi rant away, it sounds like your line mgr is being totally unreasonable. She has no right to comment on your personal circumstances (ie being a mum and having DC) either. My advice would be to hang fire on replying, and get a 3rd party view on the email before responding. Emails can be really emotive.

FWIW my manager is being crap, but not as crap as yours. They haven't confirmed my request to work 4 days a week, or arranged keeping in touch days, despite me requesting these 5 times. Not exactly welcoming !

TrickOrTReggiee · 27/10/2009 12:50

Much as I'd love to take credit for sexybuilder and I admit, it does look suspicious MisscallmeDandyMarple, but bed did indeed call me. I only stay up later if I'm drunk these days (and note my hangover free chirpyness this morning).

Momi that email is so out of order (and badly timed), and from my vague employment law knowledge it sounds like your manager is on very dodgy ground here on a variety of levels. Try to put it out of your mind today, and come back to it again tomorrow.
