Happy Birthday twinks Mr Goo. Hope you are having a lovely day!

Happy Halloween and Samhain everyone.

I've just discovered DH has eaten all of the chocs I bought for trick or treaters so tonight I will be hiding from them! Oops!

Hellooooo and Happy Halloween Xmas Smile

just caught up and promptly forgotten everything.

holiday wash a bit of a weird one. Horrible 9.5 hour journey with a pukey DD, then bumble had what she had, and then DS1, and then bumble poorly again yesterday and today. they spent the week screaming and carrying on from the minute they got up till the minute they went to bed, and carried on carrying on most of the flipping night....DH and I are knackered.

But, we saw a pod of porpoises out on the Forth and watched them for ages, plus a few seals and other wildlife, and lots of rockpool action.

didn't make it to meet up with Ellie and choc though , but a couple of old school friends (one I hadn't seen for 22 years ) came over one evening, and we spent a bit of time with my sis and her boys who are ages with DS1 which was good. I never saw my brother though . Same old family nonsense as others experience; he and his wife are just a real emotional drain for everyone and their carpets are so manky with dog and cat hairs (and other emissions fr4om their incontinent dog) that DH refused to have our DC crawling around on their floors

Happy belated birthdays to becca and tiger

big day tomorrow....this time last year I was playing scrabble and denying that I was actually in labour

we are just having a quiet day with the DC then outlaws coming over for roast pork and apple sauce sarnies and cake. the house is a tip with holiday detritus everywhere though, and we can't move for toys as it is, never mind birthdays and Christmas round the corner.

gawd would you listen to me...moan moan moan.

hana; I was seeing an obstetric physio, but as you say the silly number of squeezes I had to do.....I had to cancel my last appointment due to poorly child and haven't gone back , even though I should

I need to sort out my weight and the mechanics of my pelvis and knees and then I'll see how things are. I am still having major pelvic issues and my knee hasn't been right since I fell downstairs when bumble was tiny. I have to go downstairs one leg at a time as I can't bend my knee and bear weight on it at the same time.

DH is making get off the pooter noises as we have a lot of sorting out to do.

kids went trick or treating tonight. There were a few neighbours kids out as well and it was like being in an American movie

samhain box sounds like a lovely thing LB.

and bumble is getting VERY attached to his dummy . I do try and take it out when I notice, but they are littered all over the house so he always manages to dig one out from somewhere!!

right going this time.

may not get a chance to check in tomorrow or Monday

happy birthday to PinkAli's DD for tomorrow

Happy Birthday Bumble & Esme, hope you have both enjoyed your days.

We have movement here, J is walking all by himself, he took the first tentative steps this morning and has progressed to around 5 or so since then. I am so pleased he did it today as I go back to work tomorrow and would have been gutted if I had missed it

I don't want to go back to work, I really must go and see if my work pants fit incase I need to do a mad matalan dash this aft

Good to see you back Daisy sorry to hear you had a poorly holiday!

coolkat · 01/11/2009 15:54

Happy birthday to Bumbe and Mimi X

Belated goodwishes to Mr Goo

And a big Yeahhh to J, we done on walking. Becca loves her new Birthday toys! Although I am intrigued - Work Pants ladybuzz? you have diff pants for work?!

We nipped to my fried who does our hair and Becca had her hair cut for the 3rd time! really grows fast.

Hope your al having nice weekends. We went into the city yest and did some shopping, DD1 needed some boots and I got a new dress. Then we went to a Halloween party. Today we have chilled, been for a long walk and now chilling again!

Right off to tidy the kitchen and clean the bathroom! Ohh the excitment

coolkat · 01/11/2009 15:54

Shoud be well done on walking, my 'L' key is very dodgy!

twinklingfairy · 01/11/2009 16:34

On for a moan. Will read back later.
Though I did scan for happy birthdays, to make me feel better, they did, Thank You

Now, about that moan
How excited was I about someone ordering a necklace?
Arranged that they should come round today for 330-4.
Last email sent said 'see you about 330'
They are still not here!
Dh has given up and gone to pub for his norm sunday pint.
And I have, symbolically, closed my curtains
But really, I am more I was so happy to get some interest.

Still, I have a Christmas Fayre on Friday Night so hopefully get something from that.
But I am mighty scared cos I have seen who else is going.
It is a HUGE thing. Local shops and all sorts, and then little old me

Ok, Happy Thoughts Twink.
Things went soooo well at J's Party!
I never saw any of it, of course, but what I did glance seemed to be happy children, happy mums and my children well looked after
Js face, when everyone sang Happy Birthday was just fantastic!!
He knew it was all for him

Downsides was having a HUGE argument with my mum and sis the day before with me 'talking to my mother in an unreasonble fashion' 'Demanding all these favours'
I needed a babysitter, for the first time in 5 months (the last time was such a disaster too) I needed sis to be on time cos I had a quiz night organised (for our toddler group. I am supposed to be chairperson)
A big stink was kicked up cos my sis tried to change things and say she would be late (never said how late. turned out she meant 5 mins)
I panicked, she stopped speaking, so I freaked out cos I didn't know what was going on. So mum took over the phone a screamed at me, calling me all sorts. No nasty names, just nasty ness IYSWIM.

Was awful.
I made my peace, but I am not over it really.

I don't know if any of you remember my other probs with my mum, but I feel so thoroughly dis respected by both her and my sis, I have had enough!
Last time I backed off.
Now I will back off some more.
I used to se emy mum at least 3 times a week. It was cut down to 2, now I think I will just make it once.
I cannot talk to her, she knows she is right and I am her daughter, who am I to tell her anything.
My only option is to keep contact to a minimum, that way they can't get to me

But really. Js Birthday was a dream
And now I know how much I can rely on PIL, I will do so more.
They will be only too happy with that.
If it is a huge issue everytime I ask my own family for help. I just won't bloomin bother!
I will just make out that PIL were coming up anyway, so it works out easier etc etc.

Oops, sorry about that.
It went on for longer than I meant.
Obviously I am nt as over it as I thought

PinkyMinxy · 01/11/2009 16:49

Hi all

I'm struggling to keep up, too, Obs.

Happy Birthday Bumble and Esme!

Well done on walking J!

tegan · 01/11/2009 17:29

hi all things very stressy here. had a lovely holiday last week but have come home to dh and dd2 being dignosed with swine flu. the rest of us have colds and feel shit.

last week owen took 2 steps but i don't think he even realised he did it.

sleeping is still not good and the clock change didn't help

twinklingfairy · 01/11/2009 17:34

OMGoodness tegan That sounds awful
You poor lot.

twinklingfairy · 01/11/2009 17:35

Opp, nearly forgot, again.
Happy Birthday Bumble and Pinkali s DD
Hope they have had as lovely a day as J had yesterday

twinklingfairy · 01/11/2009 17:38

Me again.
well Done on walking , ladybuzzs J and Tegans Owen
Do we have lots of walkers now?
J is nowhere near it though everyone says he is.
I thinkit is something people just say, cos I tell ya, he ain't ready yet
(I remembered my witchy hats this time)

LadyBuzz · 01/11/2009 20:04

Just to clarify coolkat by pants I mean trousers not pants pants. I can see why you were intrigued .
They don't fit unfortunately, I have managesd to find one pair that are not too bad. Should have thought about this earlier.

Tegan Well done Owen on walking, Sorry to hear about the swine flu - how awful esp after having a lovely holiday.

Twink not surprised you are not happy with the customer, things like that always wind me up!
Glad that J had a lovely birthday, not good to hear about arguments with your family though.

Yorky · 01/11/2009 20:23

Happy birthday Bumble and everyone who I can't find the list!
Well don eon the walkers - DD is trying to work out how to climb over the bar at the bottom of the baby gate in the kitchen doorway - it not close but she can't bumshuffle over it - no rush for walking here, although she's quite good when you hold her hands.
Twink - I hope your customer turns up, even if they are late. Its such a come down from the Yeah - someone's interested high, to the bump and frustration when it doesn't materialise. Hope the Christmas fair goes well for you.
Going to weigh out the fruit for my Christmas cake which Mr Tesco kindly delivered this afternoon and leave that to soak for ages until I can be bothered to do the rest of the cake, then have a lazy bubbly bath and go to bed for an early night - last night doesn't even bear thinking about!

Ceebee74 · 01/11/2009 20:46

Evening all

Buzz well done to J for his walking - it seems such a milestone doesn't it?

Lol was coming onto post that Hamster has finally started pulling himself up to standing on a regular basis - but not quite in the same league is it?? I reckon he will be walking by, ooh, his 2nd birthday

Twinks glad J's party went well but crap about all the family stuff going on. I have a complicated situation with my mum and my sis and her new boyfriend - and I have made it clear to them all that if there is even the possibility of there being any tension/atmosphere at Hamster's birthday party then my sis's bf can't come. I refuse to have them spoil his day!!

Coolkat 3 haircuts already

Tegan hope your DH and DD2 are ok - very very scary for you all.

Right, need to concentrate on X Factor now. Been to Blackpool illuminations tonight which was good

LatinDAISYcal · 01/11/2009 21:30

The birthday boy is currently sat on Daddy's lap and is refusing to go to bed . Either ear infection (but no temperature to speak of) or big time teething but he is alternately happy and laughing or screaming/wailing in that high pitched painful way.

birthday good; quiet day with family, only PILS and BIL, SIL and their three DC. Tomorrow is the big birthday tea and I hope bumble is well enough for it.

He loves his ride on and the instruments we got him, and he got lots of cars and things with wheels so is a happy boy.

now if only he would sleep.

Happy Birthday to Esme

and well dine J on walking; we had three steps here today as a one off, but he is getting steadier on his feet.

OP posts:
ellieloooooooooooooween · 01/11/2009 21:40

AArgh Cant keep up, been really busy.
Happy Birthday bumble & esme & mrgoo* tegan how awful hope they are ok and you all feel better soon, are they managing to get up and about or are they stuck in bed?
twinks sorry about your arguement with your family, its true what they say youcan pick your friends but not your family, if they make you feel upset and you dont feel respected you are right to keep your distance you dont need the hassle. Hope your customer has a good reason for not turning up and gets in touch with you.
lb well done on J walking
daisy Hope your DC are all better soon, its a shame we never managed to meet up but glad you got caught up with your family and friends.
yorky I keep saying I will do a Xmas cake but have never got round to it! Millie is in no hurry to walk either, like your DD she is good when you hold her hands and today she was very funny climbing up to my chair and laughing when her face came up but also laughing when she fell onto her bottom.
ceebee IU think Millie will be walking by this time next year too but I dont care cos she is my baby and my baby she will stay lol.
We have all had colds here too, Millie is still very snotty but I think she is teething too, I felt really crap for about 3 days but feel much better today (always happens when DH is away). I have been typing this for ages I have made bottles up and put my chicken soup I made tonight in the food processor to whizz it up a bit, done dishes and put stuff in the dryer, so have prob cross posted .
Can I ask what milk everyone is giving there lo's now those that are FF, IIRC when DD1 was 1 the HV told me just to put her straight onto cows milk when she was 1, I was intending to do the same with Millie as I dont really get the step up milks (think they are just away to extort money out of people), I believe that I am giving Millie a balanced diet so there is no need, what does everyone else think about it?
Please tell me if I am wrong as I usually am lol.

Ceebee74 · 01/11/2009 21:45

Ellie the guidance is that from 1, babies can have normal cows milk and don't need formula anymore (they still need about a pint a day in total but some of that can be in food or they can have less if they are eating a lot of other dairy products). Hamster is still on formula but I have decided that once this tin has gone and I have used up the small ready-made cartons we have hanging about, I am not buying any more - it will probably be some time next week so he will still be a couple of weeks from his 1st birthday.

Daisy hope the party goes well tomorrow and Bumble gets over whatever is bothering him tonight

ellieloooooooooooooween · 01/11/2009 21:51

Yeah I thought thats what it was I also have 1 tin left and dont plan on buying anymore, I actually cant wait so fed up of making bottles up but also a little sad as I know we are not having any more but its like another step of my baby growing up
