Just popping in to say happy birthday William!!

ronshar · 08/10/2009 20:35

What is this?
A man?
On our thread!!!

Thank you for your birthday wishes. William seems very underwhelmed by the whole thing! He does like his new cars though. They were my pressie so thats ok.
This time last year I was sat on the sofa in tears because I thought I was being stabbed by razor blades in my nipples

MM its sounds viral. I dont mind a little bit of germ spread. I shall bring along face masks for everyone else

Star I will be man-less. We can sit together and moan about them.

CSWS how much/ what kind of bread should I bring?

Rachie is J better today?

Ksal, I am looking forward to meeting you this weekend. Is this your first meet up? (I am a bit nervous as I have only met 50ft last week and myjob a while ago)

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/10/2009 21:05

Glad it's just teething mm .
How did the cakes turn out in the end?

Yes it's KSal's first meetup ronshar, despite being only 15 mins or so from me!
You've got as much idea as I have re bread! Something that will go nicely with chicken/potatoes/salad, and feed 6 mummies, 2 or 3 daddies, 2 small children and 6 babies!

Glad that W had a nice if underwhelming day. He's prob saving himself a bit for Saturday's celebrations .

ronshar · 08/10/2009 21:19

Most probably CSWS.
I cant concentrate watching Criminal Justice.

50ftQueenie · 08/10/2009 22:53

First set of cakes were a disaster. I had saved the mix from earlier and it fermented. Yuck! It tasted vile. So I binned all 18 cakes . I have made chocolate dots and chocolate peanut butter cakes. All lovely and dairy free. I got home at about 10.30 and started baking at 7.30. I must love you ladies.

M's presents are all set up for the morning and you can guarantee she won't be interested! Glad William liked his mummy's present. Boys know just how to make their mummies happy.

Ronshar - I am utterly convinced it's a virus as it looks like a viral rash. She was absolutely fine in herself this evening, just a bit hot and rashy. I'm sure she'll be fine by the morning. Bread, I would suggest something crusty but soft in the middle such as ciabatta, baguette...... Don't know how much as I always over cater when it comes to bread!

Oh I forgot to mention, I have my first driving lesson tomorrow! Eeeeek!

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/10/2009 23:14

oh blimey - good luck!

happy birthday m!
We got the early start today, so hope you're having a lie in.

Happy Birthday M
Good luck on the driving lesson, 50ft! I'm sure you'll do well. I took 15... yes, that is not a typo. 15 2 hour lessons 2 summers ago when I realized I could only drive on my American license for 1 year here and then I needed to pass the UK test. It's not easy - but I had to unlearn and re-learn a lot of little things that were habits and hard to break iyswim.

jenwa · 09/10/2009 08:21

ronshar Happy birthday to W for yesterday, glad it went well.

Happy birthday M today. 50ft you are brave with the driving lesson on M's b'day! Is that a pressie for her

All ok here. Both kids got coughs but ok. DD1 had lovely b'day yesterday, cant believe she is already 4 . I am shattered and still living in a piggin mess but DH is doing a fab job in the kitchen, shame the rest of the house is suffering for it

Had appt at b'ham other day and they think my hearing is genetic and only option really are middle ear implants! or stick with hearing aids. May get worse or stay the same but never better Just have to keep an eye on the girls as they reach in to their 20's.

star6 · 09/10/2009 08:47

Happy bday to L yesterday jenwa!! Glad she had a great day

50ftQueenie · 09/10/2009 08:57

Getting pretty nervous about driving lesson now DH is ridiculously excited about the idea of me driving, it is much more of a present for him to be honest Jenwa.

At least you know that nothing is terribly wrong with you Jenwa, even if the news about your hearing means that it can't be solved. Are you going to go for the implants do you think? Glad DD1 had a good birthday.

CSWS - I did get a bit of a lie in but M was so wiggly in the night that I didn't get a huge amount of sleep though the night. She's still really rashy this morning.

M was quite impressed with the doll's pushchair I got her but DS wouldn't bloody leave anything alone long enough for her to play with any of her toys. I don't know why we bother getting him Lego etc, we should just let him share M's toys.

It is my first meet up and i am also rather nervous....

....but i am at home with Emma today because she has a temperature - does this mean i can't come? i'm gutted

star6 · 09/10/2009 09:52

I don't mind (personally) if another baby is there that has recently had a temperature or even has one at the moment... or if they have a rash. I don't know about others, but I'm not bothered at all. In fact, if anyone thinks they may have the chicken pox, bring it on!!

star6 · 09/10/2009 09:53

ummm that sounds insensitive. I didn't mean that I don't feel badly for that child who has the temp or rash - it's awful for them I just meant that I don't mind if they are around Q! sorry if that came across wrong...

KSal · 09/10/2009 10:11

don't be sorry star i know exactly what you mean!

KSal · 09/10/2009 16:08

happy birthday to martha! hope she's feeling better today

aubergenie · 09/10/2009 18:44

Just dashing in again to say happy Birthday to Martha!! I hope you're having a great day.

as much as i don't want to do this, i'm going to have to cry off tomorrow. Emma is just not well and it wouldn't be fair on all of you to come and knowingly spread the lurgy. I guess its that time of year...

I can't believe that you are going to be just down from the road from me and i can't join in! especially when there's so much cake acion in the offing!

50ftQueenie · 09/10/2009 20:46

I just saw your facebook up-date KSal and knew you'd not be coming. Ah well, I am sure they'll be other meet ups. Hope Emma feels better soon.

On the sickly child note, M still has a rash but is absolutely fine. She hasn't got a temperature anymore so I don't think she's actually ill. Do any of you mind me bringing a potentially sickly child?

I took M to be weighed today just to see how much she has put on in the year and she was 21lbs with her clothes on so I guess she would be about 20lb without. In which case she has put on a pound in three months. I knew she was getting skinny!

Hello Myjob. Glad you had a good holiday!

Oh and I really enjoyed my driving lesson. I can't believe I actually drove a car, even if it was only about 200 yards! I can't wait for the next lesson.

star6 · 09/10/2009 20:57

I'm ok with a potentially sick baby. Or a sick baby. as I said before
Glad you enjoyed the lesson 50ft. DH might come... he might not. Depends on his mood tomorrow I guess. We'll see, I guess! Will have to rely on google directions as my sat nav stolen! ugh! my blackberry has a sat nav I think.... hmmm

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/10/2009 21:07

Oh poor Emma and poor you KSal . Hope she is better soon.
If she makes a sudden complete recovery then do feel free to just drop by. Otherwise we can have a mini-meet one day soon - then you won't feel so nervous next time there's a few of us .

Glad you had fab holiday myjob.

Could have fainted today, as dh said, in front of a witness, that he might not mind having another child after all .

Anyway, busy busy - still lots to do (but house will still be a mess tomorrow, so don't expect too much ).

OP posts:
KSal · 09/10/2009 21:11

i'm really gutted

at least she is sleeping now... i have just cooked her favourite food so that she might be tempted to eat a bit more tomorrow.

KSal · 09/10/2009 21:12

if she does, by some miracle, wake up all recovered... i could come... its not like its a long journey.... its not even that long a walk
