housecoats they actually tend towards the lurid floral pattern here. I am tempted to get one for the larf and wear it to do me cleaning in. I could embellish it with ribbons and whatnot.

I have guests here tonight - they rocked up on a huge motorbike and the lady took off her helmet to reveal a face like Iman (she wot is married to David Bowie) . And she was really nice .

Pah!

tummum ooh shingles, you need comfort food. I hope you're ok.

Belgian I think part of your weightloss can be out down to carrying your gorgeously huge baby around - I put the fact that I don't really appear to have put on weight (I said I was getting fat the other day but in fact I'm no bigger) to lugging the Gigantosaurus S about.

fibytheshesellsseashellsbythenovascotiashore Yay to potty training!

running I'm sorry to hear you're selling your campervan.

Have a farty cat on my lap - I actually posted in the pets section here for advice as he farts so much.

saus I ate nowt at my buffet receptiony thing for my wedding as I was nattering (never!) and quaffing ale too much. And niping outside for a fag every few minutes

'niping'?

Dearie me

Evening all. Just had the best gorgonzola pasta ever. My sister came over last night and rought some cheeses with her. Some BlackBomb chedder, some ripe gorgonzola that was just oozing and delicious, and some brie that was so ripe it was practically illegal. I haven't had proper nice cheese in ages.

Hope everybody is well and the weekend has been ok.

FiByTheSea · 27/09/2009 20:49

grumpylol i just love the way you say things! did you get any suggestions for your cat?

JennsterFrogSaviour · 27/09/2009 20:56

grumpy Maybe your cat has been eating stinky French cheeses? Mine are ripe. OMG you won't believe it.

'Twasn't me. 'Twas MN

FiByTheSea · 27/09/2009 20:56

oops sorry!

FiByTheSea · 27/09/2009 20:59

x post jennster happened to you too

essenceofSES · 27/09/2009 21:10

LOL at housecoats My Nana used to have a blue and white checked one.

Tummum - sorry for shingles. Definitely comfort food for you.

running - how did your ham turn out?

Grumpy - yay for guests! LOL at farty cat - hope they're not smelly!

ladyhelen - it's so difficult when they have colds, isn't it. If you haven't already, may be worth trying saline nasal drops and also being in the bathroom whilst you're having a warm shower. Often what ends up happening though is the phlegm goes down onto their stomachs and then they are sick. So if R is a little bit sick, don't worry.

Busy day here - church this morning and then my parents over for a BBQ.

Found out at church that a friend I'd not seen for a few weeks has been diagnosed with breast cancer, has had a mastectomy and starts chemo this week She has 2DC and I really feel for them all.

DS is back to bad teething this afternoon and evening. I've tried everything but he just won't be put down. Wondering how long before tooth no2 will be here...

Belgianchocolates · 27/09/2009 21:51

Evening all,

lol at the housecoats We could design our own MN May 09 patterned housecoats . I think they'd come in v. handy for weaning as per BLW.

tummum I hope you'll feel better soon. Fingers crossed it's not shingles.

grumpy If the cat carries on you might have to change his name to Farty

Our cat seems to be determined at the moment to get comfy somewhere I don't want her to get comfy: 1st my eBay stuff box and now she's curled up in the baby nest
Talking about cats. Our posh neighbours, who always make me feel a little like I'm some poor commoner, hate our poor little Minou. She's the lovliest of cats, small, gently, friendly. Loves humans, but they complain about her like she's a rat.

Ses about your friend. It must be so hard for all of you, but especially for the family.

jenn That description of your cheeses made me feel hungry

saus My size 20 mum likes to critisize size 12 me about my 'double' chin and any weight I might gain. I know how you feel. I was sort of strapped in into my wedding dress. You get used to it and by the evening you can eat as much as you like, but like Grumpy I found that I spent so much time talking to all the guests, that I barely had the time to eat. No drinking for me as I was 6 weeks pg at the time, but had a misc that evening/next morning

sausagenmash · 27/09/2009 22:02

Belgian - about your misc on your wedding day / day after. Oh, that must have been awful for you. Big non MN-y hug.

Am on 2nd glass of wine and I REALLY fancy some cheese. We have some VERY stinky stuff in the fridge (a la Jennster) which dp bought when he was en France last weekend. Got no bread though. Harumph.

Just done version bloody FOUR of the wedding seating plan. It's my Mum (quelle surprise) who has been complaining about each one so far. She can bog off now. Don't care.

Grumpy - if I was still a smoker (gave up when I found out I was up t'duff, gawdluvvaduck, I used to LOVE smoking) (slight cockney roots coming through now) then I would be 'niping' out for a fag or 9 at the reception thing too. I think niping sounds better than nipping. Nipping sounds a bit mean and spiteful, oui? Also, agree with the re your guests. I got my motorbike licence a few years ago.... never got round to buying the big machine though... only had a 125 vespa, haha. Was pretty nifty around Whitechapel though. (when I worked in the hospital there, NOT as a Victorian prostitute!) Sigh. Those were the days. Fags, bikes, I could go on....

flippineck · 27/09/2009 22:08

Evening!

Welcome back, all those who have been on holiday!

pula - your DD is coming up with some with some gems! I love the things small children say. DD1 mostly comments on my fat tummy, or my fat back, great. So belgian at all your weight dropping off. Maybe I should stop eating.

tummum - sorry to hear you're not well, Hope it isn't shingles. And do comlain about that GP.

fi - potty training sounds great. We really need to get DD1 started soon, she's 2 and a half tomorrow (omg, where did that go?!) and sort of hinting at wanting to start, but I keep not doing anything proper about it.

runningmonkey - at the campervan. But a new tent would be very exciting!

Apologies for my post and run the other day, A was really grumpy and we just could not get her to sleep; same thing happened last night as well (it was 11:30 when she finally settled last night, then woke at 4 for a feed and DD1 was up at 6). Fingers crossed she's been a bit more settled tonight so far.

LOL at all the housecoat talk. My grnadmother had several too, lovely nylon creations. But they do seem quite practical; I wear my apron a lot a home but I can see how the pockets/sleeves/complete coverage of the housecoat could be useful...

JennsterFrogSaviour · 27/09/2009 22:10

sausage lock the fridge door. My stuff was trying to escape.

Belgian How sad. Sorry to hear that.

JennsterFrogSaviour · 27/09/2009 22:13

Housecoats a go go

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 27/09/2009 22:30

Belgian I'm so sorry, how awful.

I also want to throw poo at your neighbours.

cheese I am working my way through many cheeses. I have bread and cheese every day for lunch, worked through the local brie/camembert style cheeses and am onto the hard stuff . Christ, I love cheese. And bread.

saus yes, bikes, fags, metal, beer. I'm such a girl.

I'm going to look at housecoats at the market on Wednesday (the same stall that does the nifty line in huge pants).

OP posts:
JennsterFrogSaviour · 27/09/2009 22:32

Make my housecoat a seersucker baby.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 27/09/2009 22:34

jennster Wow! They are some kerraaaaazy housecoats. I must take some photos of the ones here. I am becoming more and more convinced that I NEED one.

Urgh am watching Last King of Scotland. Feel sick. Night night.

Momino · 27/09/2009 22:45

evening all. sorry not going to namecheck everyone. my brain seems to have a teeny-tiny capacity to think, remember, and all the rest it's supposed to do.

pula, ilove the things your DD has said. priceless.

ses, how sad the news of your friend. hope she gets through it all ok.

tummum, hope you're feeling better. shingles doesn't sound fun.

hope eveyonehad a good weekend.
we had lots going on with a birthday party yesterday and today went into town for the York food & drink festival so the girls could make gingerbread men in a tent with 30 other children (could have done that at home i suppose ).

i do need some sleep so am going to cut this short to get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

see you in t'morning and hope everyone is tickityboo.

I never tried looking for 'funky' housecoats. I knew that was an oxymoron.
