Hello ladies! As usual it has been ages - I am bookmarking the thread now and off to get myself a namechange before coming back...

euroghoul · 08/10/2009 21:17

Does it work???

FrightNightFebes · 08/10/2009 21:25

Great name euroghoul

euroghoul · 08/10/2009 21:27

Aha yes!

Wooo.... and all manner of spooky noises....

Ok I am a bit rubbish at this. Basically I just wanted to drop in to say hello and to announce that I am once more attempting to catch up - yet again I am finding that life is too busy (and fortunately, at the moment, too enjoyable ) to spend much time online, but at the same time I also find myself thinking of you all quite a lot and wondering what's happening. I'm afraid I'll claim a namecheck amnesty for tonight, as the babies have been keeping me awake and busy the last few days and I'm too tired to post properly, but I felt it was time to drop in and will be back tomorrow. I hope that doesn't come across too hoity toity - I really don't actually think you're all wondering what my esteemed thoughts are

Grumpy yours is the only post I can see on this page as I write and I'm glad you're happy with your family together. Must be lovely after all the upheaval of moving and dh being away etc.

I hope everyone else is well . Am pottering off to bed now.

Monstermomi · 08/10/2009 21:44

looooove everyone's scarrrrry namess. ooooooooohhhhhh.....

Toffeeapplemmum · 08/10/2009 22:06

Loving the spooky names

HeadlessLadyH · 08/10/2009 22:15

Good work, ladies on the spooky names. Love love love them!

llaregguBOO · 08/10/2009 22:35

I can't watch Criminal Justice. I'm finding it all far too painful.

Salemchocolates · 08/10/2009 22:39

llare I'm hopelessly bend with CJ. I've just watched episode 1 and found it v. good. It's too late to start watching episode 2 now, so will have to do that tomorrow.

Hi Euromum

I'm going to hop on my broomstick and fly up the stairs. (Like it?) I'm due an early night tonight I think.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 08/10/2009 23:09

Hello all!

No namechecking sorry, just a quick dash in to read a bit and change my name. May try to come up with something better soon. Loving your names.

We're surviving the inlaws visit, they are being tolerable and DD1 is loving having them here.

Demand feeding - yep, every couple of hours here during the day, but only one boob at a time. If A has both boobs in one feed then she just sicks up most of it so it seems to suit her better to have more frequent smaller feeds. FIL keeps making comments though about me feeding that child AGAIN. Bog off.

Memorable wedding dates - we got married when the Rugby World Cup was in Wales, and the day we got married Wales were playing Australia. I'm Welsh, DH isn't, we got married in Wales and over half the guests (and the bride ) spent an awful lot of the afternoon in the car park listening to the rugby on car radios. No televisions in the hotel and pre-internet phones. 10 years week after next!

Monstermomi · 09/10/2009 06:30

morning all!
very bright this morning. Harper went down at 7.30pm and is still sleeping at 6.30am! I don't do anything differently (I don't think) onthe days she sleeps so it's just luck of the draw I think.

Flippin, you FIL's comments .

DH still here so going to express and chat before he goes and before DD's awke. play group, lunch at friend's, lots of appts to make, etc.

Hope all are well and try to check back sooooooon

Salemchocolates · 09/10/2009 09:04

Morning!

We've had an excellent night too. No pre-dawn farting concerts to wake me up. In fact I didn't hear a thing until 7.15, she fed at that time, went back to sleep and I'm only now just hearing the 1st stirrings of a waking baby . I even left her asleep and took the dcs to school. Before I get reported to ss, I have to add that the school is only less than a minute's jog away.

Today will be spent chasing up O2 as the pac code transfer thingy didnt seem to have happened and suit shopping for DH, without DH for because yesterday he told me he needed a new suit + shirt (and IMO a new tie too) by tues. He never wants to come clothes shopping for himself . Anyway, if I go today we should have plenty of time to see if it fits and return and swap for a different size etc.. etc.. etc...

Right, time to get C now and get her fed and dressed ready for the day.

pulapumpkin · 09/10/2009 09:23

Morning, not a bad night here either. S woke at 11.30 and 4.15 and up for the day at 7.15 and is napping again now. His nighttime antics the previous night (feeding every 2.5 hours) left me VERY full last night and I was desperate to feed him to relieve the pressure.

If DS2 wakes by 10, then i think we'll go out to playgroup. Might see if the GPs fancy seeing their grandchildren after school today.

I think the novelty of school is wearing off for DD and she has been like a grumpy teenager in the morning for the last 3 days. We have had to wake her up and she doesn't appreciate it!

flippineck- your new name made me laugh!

LoobyLou36 · 09/10/2009 10:18

morning all

(desperately trying to think of new funky name )

well I have succumbed to halloween and have bought M a mummy's little pumpkin babygrow from asda - sssooo cute

M is full of cold poor thing so we're having a day in today apart from a brief trip to the supermarket. m was awake from midnight every hour really bunged up and struggling to feed at 3.30 I ended up making a bottle of formula and she slept for 2hrs. She's now BF curled up in a blanket so hopefully she'll sleep afterwards .

LoobyLou36 · 09/10/2009 10:20

feeling really cold here so am thinking of chopping some kindling and lighting the fire

What are your LO's wearing to bed now? M felt cold when she woke up in the night, she was in a short sleeved vest, long sleeved babygrow and in a thick sleeping bag.

Toffeeapplemmum · 09/10/2009 10:30

Another good sleep here - G went down at 6.30, dream feed at 11, then fed again 6.30am and back to sleep til 8. Bliss ! (Sorry Looby)

Looby because it is so chilly, G is wearing vest, babygro, fleecy babygro & a (thin-ish) sleeping bag, with thin blanket on top. I think that is helping him sleep, but I have been a bit paranoid about him being too hot at night.

Pula Poor DD. My DD1 is only just getting the idea that she will be going to school for a long time. Bless.

Schocs at least suit shopping without DH = less arguments about styles / colours etc. Hope you have a fun day.

Heeellllloooo euroghoul nice to hear from yoooooooouu !

Spooky glad you are enjoying your family being together.

Salemchocolates · 09/10/2009 10:33

toffee My ds was under the illusion that school finishes at y6. I talked about y7 this week and he was shocked when I informed him that that does exists, but that you need to go to a bigger school for that

Salemchocolates · 09/10/2009 10:35

oops, forgot to mention flippin I've been getting such comments from family too. I ignore them, they're all old and ff, so have no idea what they're talking about

zombietom · 09/10/2009 11:42

Hello you scary lot
salem you can buy special snuggly sheepskins for cots that would make it v cosy for C- I'll try and find you a link

zombietom · 09/10/2009 11:56

here we go this is just the first I found but if you google baby sheepskins there seems to be quite a few sites, I'm pretty sure I've seen some that are machine washable somewhere
Jake has outgrown his crib and I'm wondering whether to move his cot into our room (we would have to take it apart to do this) or whether to put him in his own room- the only other option is to use the travel cot for a few weeks
I have got him a little hat with teddy bear ears and thought he looked really cute until it occured to me that he looked like 'the bear' off Bo Selecta so now I can't help thinking of that when he wears it

zombietom · 09/10/2009 12:01

Jake aka the bear and Jamie O ( language)

ScarySpangleMaker · 09/10/2009 12:40

zombietom that bear is disturbing! I'm sure Jake doesn't really look like that, not without glasses anyway

Not too bad a night here - H woke for a feed at 10pm then, apart from a little grumble at 12.30am, went through until 6. He was then wide awake but managed to go back to sleep after 45min, which was great as I managed to get a bath (our shower is broken - boo) before we went out to baby massage.

Re sleeping arrangements, H is in his cot in our room as his room is still miles off being finished. I've told DH I want us to get it done before Christmas, to which he says 'don't be silly, of course it will', but it has taken us 4 months to do a bit of painting and get a new window made (old one is rotting) and bearing in mind Christmas is only 2.5 months away I think I'm justified in having some doubts! Anyway, DH and I are both agreed we enjoy having him in with us at the moment, and I think I'll just know when it's the right time to move him.

ScarySpangleMaker · 09/10/2009 12:51

zombietom (it makes me to call you that!) what I meant to add but got distracted was, I think you should go with what you feel most comfortable with. I don't think there's a problem with using a travel cot for a few weeks. Lots of people have their babies in their own rooms by this time too, and in most cases sleep better for it. (If it was me I'd probably move the cot, but only because DH would do it and all I would have to do is keep out of his way and hand him a glass of wine after it was done)

Jennster · 09/10/2009 13:05

Salem Your DS sounds lovely. DD1 does that too, 'Oooh R you're so pretty, you look lovely' but through gritted teeth. No idea why.

momi You've hit the nail on the head there. That is absolutely what happened I think.

Off to think about a name change.

FrightNightFebes · 09/10/2009 13:05

Hellllllloooooooo

I had a good night too. R went from the dreamfeed at 10.30 through till 6.45. He woke a couple of times but resettled quickly so big improvement there. I put him down for a nap 30 mins ago and he went to sleep but has just woken up so I went in and put on music so will give him a few minutes to see if he goes back to sleep.
