Dandy Very philisophical. I'm dreaming of the day I can have a proper honeymoon. Will have been with dh for 13 years in October, but married for 4 now. Was 9 weeks pg with dd when I got married....I never did get that all-inclusive Maldives water bungalow for a fortnight.....Maybe for my 40th, or Dh's 50th.

Morning all,

I was up at the crack of dawn today thanks to C having a poo party at 5.30, after that she was in a brilliant mood all smiley and giggly. . She went back to sleep at about 7, just when I had to get up to get ready for the big trek across London to go and wave at my rowing DH. I'm tired . Not the best day to go and carry C around in a sling for a whole day, but I am not doing the underground with a buggy. I've done it once and it's impossible. (no lifts, steps, gaps, etc...)

dandy What an amazing story about your cancer. It sounds like in the long run it changed your life for the better. . Oh and of your fiji proper honeymoon. We got married last June, but we've been together for 11y. Our honeymoon was a family holiday to centerparks . Maybe I can convince DH to got on a proper honeymoon one day. The problem is that he doesn't really like beaches.

Anyway. See you all later.

muddleddaizy · 26/09/2009 09:53

Morning, just popping in to wave goodbye to my imaginary friends , off on holiday if dh can get his butt off the seat!!

FiByTheSea · 26/09/2009 12:53

bon vacance daisy have a great time

Febes · 26/09/2009 13:18

Hi all at last I think I have time to post. I can't comment on everyone as I've missed to much but hi to you all and I have enjoyed reading bits and pieces when I've had a chance.

Our holiday was really great. It was so nice to be with DH all week and we really enjoyed each other company. I realised between work, babies, home etc we don't spend much time just being together and we really get on well and find eachother interesing and funny. So we are going to make sure we have one night out a month just the 2 of us.

DD is 22 months now and is driving me mad. I am finding her behaviour really challenging. I need to watch some supernanny for some ideas. She was such a lovely baby. I hope I can find some strategies to improve things soon.

Also have any of you had you LO vaccinated for TB. Its called BCG I think. I had both DCs done a 2 months ago as DH is from south africa. DS has a small red mark from it but DD has a huge red bump which is sore to touch. I think I might have to take her to the doc about it.

Rueben is an angel and is rolling over lots and ful of giggles but is still waking every 3 hours at night and sometimes more. He is huge so I keep waiting for him to go longer but he doesn't seem to be able to.

I think I'm suffering from post-holiday/ its nearly winter blues . Got home and all I could see was clutter and mess so I've spent this morning trying to clean and declutter.

Me me me moan moan moan.

Anyway its good to be back to you girlies .

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 26/09/2009 14:18

Feeeeeeeeebes Good to see you back!

Belgian I hope you enjoy your day!

muddle probably missed you by miles, but have a fab holiday

So, Keith's been let out, he's patrolling the huge garden now, chasing off the French cat 'Pitchun' and climbing trees. He is one happy, happy cat.

Jam and chutney making on the cards here. Well, if I can get my plump rump to the shop to get jars and wax and lids and so forth.

Also today is changeover day which means endless washin' n peggin' n ironin' n foldin' and makin' of beds. DD2 and I have cleaned the bathrooms, DD1 is outside with deeply repellent boy who makes my teeth itch. He's english too and is a lying, boastful, aggressive little twonk, he belongs to the people I'm leasing the house off, so feel I should tolerate him. It's difficult though.

Have a marvellous day everyone..

Have a good holiday daizy

Good to see you Febes. Glad you had a nice holiday and that you managed some quality time with your DH. I was thinking the other day that DH & I need a bit of 'us' time - it's sometimes more like we work together than anything else. It doesn't help that he only has one day off a week and spends most of it doing stuff around the house or garden.

Grumpy I am tired just reading about what you are doing today, and with 3 DC, too! I've got a cold, grr! I feel particularly wimpy because I think I've caught it from H (who caught it from his cousin) and he's not nearly as grumpy about it as I am! I'm currently trying to keep H amused while MNing, watching crap tv and drinking hot chocolate while feeling unreasonably sorry for myself. The ability to spend a whole day doing absolutely nothing is definitely something I miss about life pre-DC (told you I'm lazy!).

ladyhelen2 · 26/09/2009 14:52

Hey all,
feeeeebes welcome back! Glad you had a good hol. Its nice to get re-aquainted with your other half every now and again. I know you mentionned before your DH being from SA, which is where my pop is as the mo. Where in SA is he from? Dads in Port Elizabeth. WOuld we be crazy to consider a visit next summer? Mum has said she will assist with airfares and would travel out with us too.
grumpy I love the sound of Keith. I just love cats with cool names! And jam and chutney making? Very Nigella!! Enjoy your changeover day. Remember those from chalet days....the only bonus was (hopefully) finding my tips after the guests had departed.

dandy v impressed with your writing skills. No wonder your posts are so eloquent and so good that you managed to turn your experience into a positive. good on ya girlfriend!!

DH has retired back to bed after a boys night out last night. We also have one of them staying over.He emerged briefly about 2 hours ago, chundered and then went back to bed. I'd gladly have a hangover if I could do that!

I've not checked into the weight loss thread for a while. Is it still running? I seem to have put on a couple of pounds. Grrrrrr. I blamed the holiday but I think in all honesty its the wine and biscuits. I am reallllllllyyyyy trying not to have a glass every night. And have found these lovely choc chip dipping cookies in M&S that really are begging for me to buy them. Unfortunately we have an M&S food store 5 mins walk from our house. Think we should move if I am to get rid of this last half stone.

llareggub · 26/09/2009 15:25

Afternoon all

Hello Febes! Good to see you back. I'm glad you enjoyed your hols.

FiByTheSea · 26/09/2009 18:03

welcome back febes :-) sounds like you had a great holiday.

had a day of errands and potty training here and not been too bad a day at all . going to have chinese takeaway for dinner later and settle down to watch x factor.

llareggub · 26/09/2009 20:12

Where is everyone this evening?

Momino · 26/09/2009 20:20

i've just logged on llare, gonna catchup on MN now (though should be helping DH make supper ).

Hope everyone's had a good day.

Momino · 26/09/2009 20:27

febes, welcome back, glad you had a good holiday.

Fi, potty training going ok? sounds like a great evening planned: chinese+telly.

ladyH, just read your post and am pining for the M&S cookies you've just mentioned. i seem to be eating lots of cakes, biscuits, sweet things. Iput it down to BF (my excuse).

Grumpy, I really don't know how you do it. 3 DC's, today being changeover day, and you still thought about making jam etc? i feel so unproductive now.

in fact, just going to put some chips in the oven. be back in a moment.

llareggub · 26/09/2009 20:40

Mmmmmmm food. I'm hungry too. I've got apple crumble in the oven. Lovely comfort food.

I'm all snuggled up on the sofa with my blanket. Such an odd day today. The market square was completely over-run with Morris Dancers. Very, very bizarre but DS was entranced.

SpangleMaker · 26/09/2009 20:45

Chinese + tv (or a film) here, like Fi

Feeling better after 2 nurofen and 10 mins over a bowl of steamy eucalyptus water. I missed using that in pregnancy.

sausagenmash · 26/09/2009 20:47

Jennster I wasn't advocating adding powder to cold water at all... I was just passing on the WHO link - as I have received no advice at all from midwives or health visitors regarding formula preparations, I did my own research, and also discussed it with friends who are formula feeding and who are also Consultant Paediatricians, and this is what I have come up with. I personally add the powder to the hot water just before the feed is needed, but the water has been stored in the fridge - on the advice of 4 paediatricians. So. Anyway. Don't want to get into an argument about it, so I apologise if I'm wrong, but there we go Am a bit confused myself now.

Have a nice rest of evening everyone.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 26/09/2009 21:10

saus was it your mum? Hang on a mo........

OP posts:
Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 26/09/2009 21:13

Yes, just as I thought. She's talking bollocks.

FF bottle making confuses me, I always managed to forget to boil the kettle/forget to leave the water to cool/forget how many scoops.

Wine. Hmm I have had a glass the past couple of nights.........

Belgianchocolates · 26/09/2009 21:29

Evening everyone,

I'm back from the long trek to London. We spent aaagggeesss on some bridge or another (the one leading to Charing Cross station) waiting. The dcs didn't want to find another spot so spent 45mins being tortured by listening to someone playing the bag pipes. Then DH phoned to say they're behind schedule and they'd be there in an hour, so the dcs and I walked along the Embankment, had a hot dog went for a wee and then back to the bridge. After another 10-15min of waiting I texted DH and we'd missed them. So all of that for nothing. Then it was on the train to Woolwich to meet them at a pub somewhere near the Thames barrier. That was lovely. We had a good 3-4h out there at the river front in the sun shine with the dcs playing. Unfortunately after that I had to go back with 3 exhausted dcs and 2 changes to do. The original plan had been for DH to take them in the car, but because it was so late he had decided to stay where he was after all. So I'm exhausted, but we had a great time.

Spangle Hope your cold is getting better and that those meds are kicking in. at your chinese. Oooh I haven't had a good chinese in ages and there's no delivery one nearby or I'd order one right now, cause I'm starving.

grumpy Does change over day mean that you get to re-organise your linen cupboard all over again? Have fun making jam and chutney. I've made jam once or twice before and it's good fun. I didn't know chutney could be made at home, I thought it came from the shops only

llare An invasion of Morris dancers, lol. I can imagine your ds loved it though.

Belgianchocolates · 26/09/2009 21:32

Right. Off to get myself something to eat now. We've got nothing nice. So it might have to be a bowl of cereal. Then I'll go for an early night today after C's pooing at such a stupid time in the morning I'm now v. tired.

FiByTheSea · 26/09/2009 21:35

sausage ignore your mum.. mine seems to think it's ok to speak her mind even when it's tosh and/or just rude!! is she a waif build wise? it would be a case of pot/kettle with mine.

had the takeaway and just watched DVD now channel surfing for something to watch..

FiByTheSea · 26/09/2009 21:49

The potty training is underway in a very understated non pushy way. basically i'm encouraging ds to have nappy free time whenever i can in the hope he'll grow to like it and we started a sticker chart so for every wee he does on the potty he gets a sticker.. there is a prize at the end of the row of stickers.. a ben 10 figure he chose. it's waiting in the kitchen where he can see it and encourage him on.

FiByTheSea · 26/09/2009 21:53

so far there are 2 stickers and he only missed the potty once bless him

sophietom · 26/09/2009 22:05
