Good good good, keep the troops moving!

HC, really hope that Matthew is sleeping better. The hardest bit is over anyway hopefully, those first six weeks.
You are so organised!!! I have actually surprised myself with getting some gifts online this year and getting the tree up already, but still in a dither as to what to get for DH (apart from the hotel thing). Tomorrow we are going shopping for the babies.
Sophie has had her pre-school jabs already? I thought they were four for that. I suppose it's only six months away... AAAGH!

Bloss I'm the same with posting - except for an occasional 'Where is everybody?'!!
So about your mum, I didn't realise it had got that bad.
Is Harry still loving school then? What does he do after - football, swimming?
Joey does nothing yet, but will try and get him tennis after Christmas. He is getting on really well with a bunch of boys now, I'm so relieved he can make friends, I was worried he'd be too shy, but he's absolutely fine. Going to another's house for tea tomorrow!!

So, Mimi's morning routine is:
7am ish: pitter patter into our room, climb in our bed, in the middle, usually accompanied by dolphin/penguin/baby whichever she has been cuddling that night. Fidgets around for a while until she announces she wants her breakfast now (this morning she announced she was going to Bali today. Bali?, says I. Yes mammy, like pwincesses. Huh? says I. Dancing like butterflies... Oh.)
Then she eats her breakfast, usually insisting on pouring four different kinds of cereal and raisins in her bowl, and she MUST have the Noddy spoon. Then gets dressed - depending on her mood, chooses a dress generally and mismatching tights/tops...
Then off to school with Joey where she joins in chasing around with his mates, then walks him up to the line when the whistle goes, then we walk to nursery, usually meeting one or other of her little friends. Then I go to work exhausted!

She's a darling really.
Must go x x x

7am Annie? Count yourself lucky. Toby still routinely wakes at 5.50.

HumphreysCorner · 03/12/2009 13:18

Hi all

Horrid wet day again.

Bloss, so sorry you mum is struggling. I know she doesn't read but could you get one of those discs which is of someone reading a novel so she can listen to it. I wouldn't get away with putting the decos up 2 weeks before the big day.

Matthew woke at 4-30am this morning so lots of hours sleep. Bet it isn't the same tonight.

Rocky Horror Picture show on Saturday, can't wait.

Have to go as DH just said he is coming home for lunch so better look busy.

Laters!

AnnieOneForMulledWine · 04/12/2009 10:51

I know, Bloss, I remember those days. Not so long ago. I really do appreciate that it's 7am and not something with a 5 at the front.

HC, look busy? Take it easy girl!

Joey went to a friend's house yesterday after school, and the mum dropped him off about 6.30 and he was soo happy! Waved his friend off in the car, all smiles, so sweet. My little boy is getting independent...
Returning the favour on Tuesday. At least I'll be at work for most of it

Just wondering, Bloss, what is Harry getting for Christmas? Not his major pressie (though being nosy, I'd like to know that too!) but something like from an uncle or something?
Joey is getting Hot Wheels Shark Bite Bay from Santa, and Mimi is getting Barbie.
We went to ToysRUs yesterday in secret to get stuff . . .
and now to wrap. Well not now, as I'm at work, but later!

Come on girls, where's the rest of them?

TinselPixel · 04/12/2009 14:15

Hi Girls (PH here by the way) - I'm still here

I've been keeping up, but recently got very paranoid about the fact that these threads stay up here for ever and ever, till we're about 1000 years old at least, so got worried about posting at all. (Plus I'm lazy...) But, have given in and am posting anyway

All fine here, except that I'm finding that the terrible threes are MUCH more wearing than the terrible twos, sigh. It's non-stop whining, tantrums and attention seeking at the moment, or that's how it seems anyway. Just seems that they can suddenly do and say a LOT more all of a sudden, only they don't have any common sense to go along with it. The sheer fuckwittery and relentlessness of 3-year-old stream of consciousness is just boggling and knackering (please say this isn't just me).

So I can sympathise about the surreal conversations, and cereal antics Annie! A typical meal conversation currently goes something like
'So what would you like for tea?'
'Ketchup'
'You can't just have ketchup, what else do you want with it.'
'Nothing. I want ketchup and nothing please mummy'.

Don't know why I bother asking really.. Actually I do, because another oft-repeated phrases is 'but I don't LIKE xxx'. So I do ask, in an effort to glean what is in/out of favour at this current second and avoid wasting food by putting it on the plate. So her current diet is mostly ketchup and cheese, or a Hipp Organic 7-month jar, which she has developed a retro fondness for and demands incessantly. (But she doesn't like the Cottage Pie one of course as it has 'crunchy bits', you know, as pureed-to-hell baby food does )

So that's me me me (or her her her I suppose!) will do a separate catch-up post. Big wave to all in the meantime xxx

HumphreysSnowCorner · 04/12/2009 21:27

Busy weekend ahead so will breathe a sigh of relief when it is over. The girls had 3 hours of dance practice tonight, well Emma did, collected Sophie at 6pm then DH collected Emma at 8pm. Dancing again at 9am and the concert on Sunday with Emma finishing approx 10pm. She will be shattered. We are at the Rocky Horror Show tomorrow night. My BIL said the lead man was carted off on a stretcher from his hotel on Thursday. Now how true this is I don't know but either way I hope he is in the show tomorrow.

Finally got my winter pansies in the pots while Matthew had a screaming session. He then fell asleep so tried to do some wrapping and he woke and screamed again.

Right, must check Facebook then go to bed.

TinselPixel · 06/12/2009 19:24

Hope Rocky Horror was good HC and the leading man was replaced by someone good, if he wasn't off his stretcher and up and leaping about that is! Hope Matthew let you sleep a bit afterwards too.

So sorry to hear how your mum is Bloss, sounds like she has deteriorated quite quickly

Gorgeous holiday pics of the boys (and you ) Ha ha re Tony, I noticed that one too Interesting how siblings can be so different, I do firmly believe that babies are born with their personalities pretty much in place.

Annie - great that Joey is making friends so quickly, must be a relief. Mimi does sound funny, bless her - bet she'll have Joey running around after her no probs!

Spin you are a brave brave woman - the WHOLE class. At your HOUSE Hope it went well, let us know! Both R and C sound like they're getting on fabulously.

LTH - can sympathise with you too re the tantrums and why why why stuff. I'm finding it does seem to go in phases, some days are a lot worse than others.

Ceebee - gorge pics of Sam's birthday, he's a real cutie isn't he. How's Josh getting on?

Hope things are better with you Agalch, any news?

Impy - hope Ry's feeling better now (if i read your Spanish on FB correctly you said he wasn't well, is that right? My Spanish is pretty non-existent mind so you might not have said anythign of the sort ) Oh yes and v sad re Blanche - I wailed when I heard it on the radio

Apologies if I've forgotten anyone - not intentional if I have.

Am feeling a bit guilty about moaning about Emma's terrible threes, she has actually been quite good all weekend Is finally into a big girls bed (I think she must be the last of our lot now!) and loves it, she goes for long bus rides in it with all her teddies

She's getting a balance bike for Christmas, her first 'proper' bike. She has a scooter but keeps falling off it, oops, so hopefully will get on better with the bike.

Anyway had better stop now - huge essay innit...! xxx

Ceebee74 · 06/12/2009 21:20

Ladies I am still here I am SO struggling to keep up at the moment

To save time, I will just echo everything that Pixel has just typed I promise I have read all the posts!!

I can definitely see where the phrase 'threenager' comes from - does anyone else feel they are living with a teenager already?? Sulks, strops, slamming doors.....

Sam is just a cutie although he is definitely starting to show his personality - a stroppy one too!!! This afternoon he spent ages in the kitchen trying to open every cupboard in turn and then collapsing on the floor in floods of tears after failing to open each one!! He cries SO much more than Josh ever did - it is quite wearing at times.

Sounds great spin but it was far more than I could have coped with that is why Partytime did Emma's party at the village hall.

Rocky Horror was fab, fab, fab and the stand in was great. Didn't get the best of seats even though I booked early. My fault but I'll pick better next time. Got sat next to a couple of bores who left as soon as the curtain fell. BIL and SIL booked last Thurs and got amongst all the die hard Rocky Fans who were dressed up and having a rave.

The girls did well with their dancing yesterday.

Tinsel, Sophie has only just moved into a big bed, a few weeks ago it was.

Ironing to do.

Big wave!

That's so weird, I posted last night and the post isn't here!

Annie in answer to your question:

H is getting -
vtech digital camera, and a load of other tut from us
from poppa = vtech lap top
from Aunts and Uncles = etchasketch, a few dvds, ben 10 Omnitrix, yada yada voice recorder, (look on Amazon, they are fab)

an generally a load more stuff!

Just been to the Xmas pound shop in town, cowboy sets, big trucks, travel connect 4, boys love that sort of gubbins. God knows what I will put in their stockings when they are 14!!!

Spin glad party went well, always a good sign when people don't leave!

AnnieOneForMulledWine · 08/12/2009 13:33

Hi girls

Thanks Bloss, for your list. I was after an idea for a friend to get him, but he's got him something now, I don't know what! He's also getting, from us, Mario, Luigi, Sonic and a few other characters, so he can play his Wii games without the Wii! At the moment he uses the scooby doo characters to race...Also a jousting set (megablocks I think) a puzzleball and Sim Animals Wii game.
Mimi, besides her barbie, is getting extra clothes and wardrobe for barbie (off eBay!), paints, and a princess jigsaw thingy.
So spoilt! And of course all the other tat from the in-laws.

HC, glad you enjoyed the show!!
Mimi is starting ballet in January (well, if DH ever drops the form off...) Her little friends have started already.

Spin, the party sounds amazing! Agree with Bloss, it must be good when peopel don't leave! J and M both like Harry Potter, but have never actually read or seen it! But if there's a picture of him or an advert, they're both 'Look!'.
Joey is really enjoying school, really really. I'm so proud of him. His friend is coming round to play tonight after school. They're so excited!! Mimi too!

CB, hope you are ok, missy. Mimi is definitely being a madam at the moment as well, throwing a strop for no reason at all.
Getting good at ignoring the screams...

Tinsel, good to hear from you! Again, the drama queen moments with Emma! Love it!

Now, there is a massive box in our bedroom, delivered by John Lewis yesterday. It is for me. I have no idea what it could be. Possibly a kitchen thing ie a coffee machine or a bread maker. Which I wouldn't really want (so it must be something for himself then!). So tempting to check online as well, cos I could easily guess his password... makes me want to buy him something big now. No idea what though.

Bleddy Christmas. Hurry up!

Please tell me there is not a brand of doll called Skanz.

Spin you are missing "Kirsty's homemade Christmas", she of Location x 3 fame, doing everything Christmas homemade, it's fab.

Work it crap, home is great, I love love love Christmas. Went to Harry's christmas show at school tonight, it was so cute, if ever I need reminding why I am a parent, these things remind me, and make up for the Groundhog day of 5.45 wakings, DH being grumpy about it, kids jumping on my head, fighting, the juggling, the drudge, need I go on?

"Worked from home" today which involved Country Market, Forest Lodge and Tescos and me being about £150 lighter. Doing the decorations this Saturday, very excited, have bought even more this year when i know we already have too many.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!

Lordy, it's depressing what lies in wait for our girls isn't it! I went on the Adams website the other day and noticed one of their ranges for pre-teens is charmingly branded 'Tainted'

adams.co.uk/all-ranges_tainted-girls

I wrote to complain, but haven't heard back yet

TinselPixel · 11/12/2009 23:33

rofl at the Bleeding Edge dolls Spin, loving Greta Vendetta!

When I first saw your post I thought they might be menstruating dolls or something. Well you never know, might be the next big thing...

Tainted - that is awful Pix. Really quite shocking, gosh how prim I sound.

Christmas has landed chez Blossom household. Strung silve baubles from silver string across bookcases this year too, looks lovely. And had these chunky square short vases, so have filled them with silve choc money and silver beads, it looks ace even if I say so myself!

Spin Grr at being landed with the party. I should think you are all a bit partied out by now aren't you? We do our annual xmas Eve drinks thing, which thank god we keep REALLY simple (mince pies, sausage rolls, crips and booze) but as we seem to be having about 30 adults and about 34 kids this year by the latest count, I am beginning to get a bit twitchy! Oh well, it will be a blast I'm sure.

Can you believe H's school Christmas fayre last Saturday raised over £4k!!! Is that normal? I was really quite taken aback.....

H had his school show this week, so sweet.

Night in alone tonight, can't wait, X factor, wine and all the candles lit. Not looking forward to DH's worst hangover of the year tomorrow though, or him cannoning off furniture when he gets in tonight. Bah humburg, feel a bit mean as he hardly ever goes out, but he is so BAD at it....have stocked fridge with cornish pasties and scotch eggs for his recovery tomorrow.

Got our annual kids christmas party tomorrow afternoon - we hire a hall between us (about 8 familes) and all bring food and games etc. It's instead of all buying presents for each others kids which just got absolutely obscene in the end with just piles and piles of presents. Much better this way.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas....!!!!

TheGoddessBlossom · 12/12/2009 16:24

humburg???
