Bah, the day went to pot as the school rang to say Emma fell and could I collect her. Had to rush and hide all the pressies incase she didn't want to go to MIL's. She did so took her there and had to sray there until Drs appointment so wasted valuable wrapping time. Normally bought and wrapped most things by now but a tad behind this year. Anyway, Dr said it is mastitis so have more AB's to take.

Must write my Christmas cards.

Hello ladies!!

HC you are sooooo organised. Even if you are behind! We did have a trip to ToysRUs at the weekend and a garden centre with Christmas lights, but haven't even thought about presents, let alone cards.
Hope the mastitis clears up soon, hope it's not too painful.
Good luck with Sophie's school!! I have Mimi's form but still need to ask the priest before filling it out. She will more than likely get in on the sibling rule.

CB, party on Friday? Can't believe he's one already!!

Flick poor Sam, take care, hope he's better soon.

Mimi has a bit of a sniffle at the moment, as has DH - so DH of course has man/swine flu of the highest order, but he hasn't. Mimi has one of those phlegmy voices!
She's getting on really well at nursery again now, though they say she is very quiet there. Big Group Syndrome I guess. They are putting on a nativity play and apparently, she's a princess... .

Joey is a star at his Reception nativity, he just has to twinkle! Most of the kids get a line, but he just has to twinkle... He's getting on so well at school, a few friends, eating his school dinners, reading is coming along... so proud of him.

School life has taken over all our lives!!

Hope everyone else is good.

Cor and there I was bracing myself for a monster catch up on Mumsnet, and would I have time before having to collect Harry from school and it only took me about 4 minutes! HC you are right we must all chat more...

Just back from Egypt last night. Had a great two weeks, weather was fab, boys had a ball, thank the lord for Kids club we are all nicely tanned - but I think we had had enough of paradise by the time we came home, if that makes any sense at all. We should have done more excursions and stuff but were too lazy lying by the pool and stuffing our faces with free booze and food! H learnt to snorkel with DH in about 5 seconds flat, Toby was quite hard work but I think he was just exhausted most of the time. Everytime we thought we were at our wits end with him we saw someone else with their kid behaving worse so that was helpful!

Amyway, have had a sad return as have had to put down one of our cats today, as it was clear she was having trouble breathing and the vet told DH she had fluid on her lungs and it would be kinder to put her down. Very sad. And I didn't give her a cuddle before DH took her to the vets so ddn't really get a chance to say good bye. Boys will be gutted.

Had a text from the cleaner on the day before we came home to say that she had found loads of cat flea eggs etc on our bedding, so she had to stay 3 hours etc to clean it all up, which is great that she could sort it all out for me so I ddn't have to come home to that at 1am. What was less great is that she left the back door wide opne....

Not back at work until Monday, hurray, dreading it. Can't even bring myself to log on to work laptop as then I will start readng email and get sucked into the vortex. I bet I have about 1500 emails.....sigh.

Right, off to get H, and break the news about Millie.

Quick one, OMIGOD Harry does not stop talking:

Mum is 88 bigger than 14? Why? Can you count to a million mummy? Why not? Why will it take too long? How long will it take Mummy? Why? What's in the bag mummy? (bread and milk) Bread? And Milk? Why? Is it all mixed together mummy? Mummy why is the bread and milk all mixed together? Mummy is bread bigger than milk? Why? Can we drink the water from the tap at home Mummy? We can't in Egypt can we mummy? Mummy why can't we drink the water from the tap in Egypt? Mummy can I have some water from the tap please?

ARRGGGGHHHHH! He has been an angel all holiday though, such a good boy, very very very proud. Will post pix soon.

test

ladytophamhat · 20/11/2009 10:00

sorry for the wierd test ladies - it's me mum of jacob and sam i was unintentionally outed on my fb page by another MNetter so I have changed and asked for old posts to be deleted as I could realistically be traced quite easily...

jacob and I sat in starbucks yesterday having a big boys coffee with him asking the following:

"where does the milk come from, why does it come from cows, where does water come from, why do we drink water, what is the sky for?"

They both have chesty colds and jacob's nose is just streaming snot so jacob is off nursery for second day in a row.

Lost the plot with them both this morning after I finally got to have some toast at 920 despite everyone else having breakfast at 7am, and then the pair of them wanting it and jacob saying "But mummy you HAVE to share it with me". So I had a huge rant and turned back into shouty mummy explaining that some things are mummy's and NO I DON'T HAVE TO SHARE... and I hadn't been shouty with them all week.

HumphreysCorner · 20/11/2009 11:34

That's a pain lth but if unintentional I suppose it can't be helped. Sure I have seen ladytophamhat name before on MN though, was a few years back.

Bloss-good to have you back and sounds like a fab break. Sorry about your cat , the boys will be upset too. My cat pooed on the carpet in Matthew's bedroom and there was blood in it. They musn't suffer so the right but difficult decision was made by you. Yuk to the cat flea eggs, your cleaner has good eyes to spot them. How do you cope with all those E-Mails?

The constant questions come from Emma although Sophie is more vocal since being at nursery.

Matthew is 7 weeks now and does seem to be settling down. He does a 4 hour sleep until 2-30 or 3am then wakes hourly but 4 hours is good as 2 hours has been the most. He also seems to have stopped his constant crying.

Best news ever is that my horrible neighbours with the dogs that kept pooing in my garden until dad put chicken wire up are putting their house on the market as he is beating her up so they are getting divorced. No more barking dogs, swearing, loud radio, loud sex and loud garden parties-yay! Think she has already gone and taken the dogs. Hope he cleans all the rubbish up that is piled up against the chicken wire in our front garden.

Better go and do somthing like ironing or wrapping or card writing.

Big wave!

Yes, LTH I seem to remember that name from somewhere... your friend must be getting confused between real life and cyber-space! how annoying though, to have all your posts deleted. This thread won't make much sense now!

Bloss, great to have you back!! Holiday sounds fab, let's see some photos! Poor kitty cat though.

HC, glad Matthew is starting to settle. Still only 7 weeks! Bye bye dogs yaay!

Both of mine are constant questions...
Mimi is to be an angel in her Nativity play, but insists she's NOT an angel, she's a princess. 'What's an angel, mammy?'. She will be a pink angel I think, oh dear...

Houseful of snot at the moment, not sleeping well... yawn...

HumphreysCorner · 20/11/2009 14:48

Had a search for that user name but can't remember exact spelling.

Annie-bah to colds and not sleeping. Am all excited cos 2 men with clipboards went next door so hoping they are estate agents. Actually, they pulled into my drive and were about to ring the doorbell when they must have realised their mistake.

Must collect my pyjama dressed Emma from school. She is currently grounded (DH hates that word but that is what the children understand and I can't think of anything better) for lying and bad attitude towards me and DH.

Laters!

they are going to change my old posts to another nickname totally unrelated to me so threads still make sense!

nothing else to report here, just tired and now dh has man flu....

TheGoddessBlossom · 20/11/2009 18:58

pix of holiday - loads, don't feel obliged...

AnnieOneForTennis · 21/11/2009 10:00

Aw fab photos Bloss!!! Love the one of Toby listening the iPod like a bored teenager!! Looks like a fab resort, the size of the pool!

HC, exciting about the estate agents next door! Fingers crossed those dogs are gone for good.

Mimi cam trip-trapping into our bed in the middle of the night, and fidgeted for most of the night. Tiiii-red.

CB Hope Sam had a good birthday yesterday. Meant to wish him a happy birthday yesterday but my brain wasn't working sorry!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM! (For yesterday!)

Right. Contemplating shopping... uuuhhhhh...

Oh SPIN! THANK GOD!!!!

OP posts:
TheGoddessBlossom · 25/11/2009 16:40

Hi Spin! Great to "see" you.

Blimey you are busy, can't believe it's Chilt's birthday again, are you quite mad having the whole class? Please tell me you are not doing it at home...

What does one do when DC2 is just sooooo different from DC1? ie, harry does anything you point him at, football, swimming lessons, King in the nativity etc and is generally very amenable all round. Toby refuses to do swimming lessons (although loves swimming), is flatly refusing to be a Shepherd in the nursery nativity, says NO to everything you ask him to do! I know all children are different and you have to treat them differently to get the best out of them - but he is rapidly acquiring the label of being just downright obstinate and obstreporous and those labels are hard to shift. (I should know - in my family, apparently I'm the lazy one!! Me!! Lazy!! Chance would be a fine bloody thing!!!!!)

Spin re Uni - good luck girl. Suggestions re fitting it in - less sleep? Clone yourself? Exciting girlfriend, go for it. I do think your brain is the size of a planet already though, you are going to be positively scary with more learnin' in it....

Big wave to everyone!

Damn you for noticing that Spin you rotter! I saw Tony later on, and could not be arsed to change it.

Aw shucks re bikini compliments, I must be the only person I know who loses weight on an All Inclusive holiday. The food was amazing, and I thought I actually ate quite alot, but bar a few crisps and nuts here and there the difference is I didn't snack aty all. Breakfast lunch and dinner, with basically nothing in between. I weighed 9 1 when I got back, and a week later am back to 9 4. Plus our evening meals at home are much larger as I basically eat what DH puts in front of me. Oh well, played squash this morning, will just try and rein in the snacking.

BTW there are usually zero photos of me on holiday as I am always the one doing the pictures, but I suggested DH might like to take some of me to actually prove I was there! Plus there are loads of him that I didn't put on as he is not keen on having his visage on the interweb as he calls it.

My phone bill due to texting from Egypt was £172!!!

Wedding anniversary yesterday, we have been married 9 years! Celebrated with Prosecco (x 2 bottles) chicken curry, and watched Silence of the Lambs which was one of our first dates (he took me to the cinema in Putney, I was absolutely terrified). Gosh that film ages well, it was like seeing it for the first time!

Got a huge Amazon delivery today, lots of wrapping to start doing. HC don't suppose you could help? Not like you've got anything else to do..

Where's Algach? Hope things are looking up for her, didn't her DH lose his job?

Hello everyone - what's going on!? I know it's nearly Christmas and all, but I'm still here!!

HC, hope you are getting some sleeps these nights! Every hour is just not on, young Matthew. Has the mastitis cleared up? Hope so x x

Spin - you busy bee. Hope the party goes well on Saturday!! Harry Potter, what age can I start reading it to mine do you think? DH reckons they'll still be scared...

Bloss, belated Happy Anniversary - sounds like you had a nice nostalgic evening .

Have done quite a bit of Christmas shopping online now, but not wrapped anything yet. For DH I booked a night in a hotel near his parents house, so we can sneak off one day for a massage, three course meal and a NIGHT WITHOUT KIDS!!!! It's more for me really... Still have to get him other stuff, but no idea what yet.

I had a lovely weekend, with my bestest friend visiting, full of drama - DH and I had a huge barney on Friday evening (something about him never listening and disrespecting me, and me not doing anything for our kids ) in front of our guests and his mate that he dragged back from the pub. My guests were to sleep on the floor and he brought his mate back and started opening more bottles to carry on, even though they were both already completely sozzled. Anyhow, it's all forgotten now.
Then yesterday he was taking my friends back to the airport, took the wrong turning on the M25 and they nearly missed their plane, but they made it in the end.

Mimi is a right little demanding madam, but hilarious with it and Joey 'doesn't mind' anything, so she always gets her way.
He has been to a friend's house after school last week and another one this week, so I gues it's time to return the favour soon - only they all live in MANSIONS whilst our little flat will be like one of their bedrooms... never mind.

Now then, where is everyone else?!?

OP posts:
HumphreysCorner · 01/12/2009 21:30

I'm here Annie! No more arguements d'ya hear?

Have been putting the Christmas decos up since Sunday. Finished this morning.

Matthew had his 8 week jabs today and Sophie had her pre school jabs so both are not very happy. M still not the best sleeper due to his extreme congestion. Am learning to leave him crying at night as he sometimes goes back to sleep.

Still have lots of wrapping to do but seem to have so many things on this month so don't know when I will get it done. Rocky Horror Show on Saturday so have to leave Matthew.

Just having my weekly fix of Horatio in CSI Miami.

Hope all OK wherever you may be.

Well I'm still here girls, and check every day for more posts, but when I see it's still me that did the last one I don't feel like posting until someone else does! I mean if it was just my thread it would be called "I'm 34!" wouldn't it?

Annie, that sounds like one of our weekends, although I do have to say DH and I have not argued for ages. Prob jinxed it now.

Work is very pressured, but keeping my head down and am getting away with only 2 days in town a week. Worked from under my duvet all day yesterday, bliss.

Done nearly all chrimble shopping and wrapped most of it, still a few bits to get, like presents for nursery and childminder etc. What the hell do you get your mum when she has no idea really that it is Christmas, doesn't read, watch TV, listen to music, wears the same things every day, can't drive or go anywhere on her own..... have settled for some hand cream a hot water bottle and Katharine Jenkins CD my dad can put on for her, so far.

I am starting to panic about when the hell we will do Harry's homework when he gets some. It's 6pm by the time they get home.

Good luck with party Spin!

HC - Dex go up 2 weeks before in my house.

Going to buy Delia's xmas book tomorrow, and try my hand at the canapes and the puddings.
