HC - sorry you are feeling poorly. Dare I suggest the ironing can wait, say, a few years? I am an ironer myself, so don't say that lightly, but if Matthew is asleep, can't you have a kip instead? Recharge my love...been meaning to ask you actually, are you on a Post natal thread for Matthew? [waits for answer, tapping toe, drumming fingers]

Spin - don't know if you are joking about the mystery virus that forces you to lie around reading the Twilight saga.... Because I am in rude health, but also found myself attached to the sofa to read those books - have finished Breaking Dawn this weekend, gutted, and tempted to start them all over again....

DH has been off booze, and drove last night when we went to friends for dinner, didn't seem to bother him in the slightest although it was a rather tame affair, lovely, but not a session by any means. Wonder how he would cope in a more full on scene...it was great to just have the driving decision made, plus he then got up sans hangover and went fishing......

.....which is of course why Toby decided this morning would be a great day to get a nasty tummy bug that had him double over in agony poor little thing. Thank god MIL was here, from baby sitting the night before, as she could stay with H while I took Toby to the walk in clinic locally. She couldn't find anything wrong, but by then he had done an almighty puke (all over sofa) so I think the worse had passed. Still, I kept him home while MIL took H to the Wizard Express (steam engine on Watercress Line) that I had been really looking forward to taking the boys too, at least H got to go.

Friday night had my two little nieces to stay until Saturday afternoon as my sister was in Scotland for a wedding. They are such good girls, and the 18 month old just followed me around for cuddles calling me Mumma. Melt. Wouldn't it be great if you could just be handed your 3rd one at 18 months old (with all the memories intact etc). They are both adorable, but they are called Lily and Willow and I keep calling them Willy and Lillow by mistake...too many Lls...

I am making this for the Halloween party we are going to next Saturday night. In fact we have 3 parties next weekend but only making this once (or perhaps twice lets see how it turns out). just the 780 calories and 35 grams of fat per slice!!! I think it might be worth it.

HC - re wieght loss, I never lose any weight when I lay off the wine - I think if I did I would do it more often.....I'm with you, could never be teetotal, and in fact have just had a slu out of the open bottle in the fridge...

Right, X Factor results.

such a comprehensive post was worth having twice I thought....

HumphreysCorner · 25/10/2009 21:20

Bloss-we haven't started a PN thread yet as we are waiting for everyone to have their baby first so nobody gets lonely.

Matthew (Ignore the sick down his dungarees)

Oh HC, he's so beautiful! I can almost see the girls in him already (in a good way, as they are so beautiful!). So sorry to hear you are ill, what a time eh. Hope you get through it soon.
And I'm with you re the booze, I'd have to secretly swig as well!!! DH has decided to go on a diet (again) so booze is banned (again) except I'm meeting a friend after work tonight and I don't think she would appreciate a night out near her birthday with NO booze?! Bloss, agree, never lose any weight being off it.

Spin, you too, hope you get better quick.
Bloss, hope Tobes is better too. LOL at Willy and Lillow!!!!

Swimming lessons this morning for my two, they got on great. Still all in armbands, but they both followed instructions very well, except for Mimi at the very end, when they had to jump in, she refused the second time! But that was the end so I think she was getting tired. Joey said afterwards that he really like it, and I said you were very good at listening to the teacher, he said, 'that's because she's a teacher and you HAVE to do what teachers say'!!!
Time for a change of career I think!

Hello to everyone else, hope all are ok x x

Sorry ladies - have been struggling to keep up

HC - Matthew is so cute!! Agree with the booze - I SO look forward to my wine on a Friday and Saturday night and don't think I could manage without it (although I suppose I did for 18 months whilst pg ) Very nice of you all not to start a PN thread before everyone had their babies....on Sam's thread, there were a ton of babies born early in October/early November and Sam was one of the last - I think there were about 5 of us left on the AN thread and everyone else had buggered off to the PN thread and was having fun over there

Bloss - that cake looks so so scrummy. Let me know if it tastes as good as it looks!! Hope your DH's tests go ok and he gets good results from them.

Annie - Josh started swimming lessons about 4 months ago and loves it. He also is very obedient in the pool and I can't remember him messing about once - oh to have that authority over him He has 2 of those rings on each arm (he started with 3) now. He is not keen on floating on his back though - the teacher struggles to get him to put his head back.

Back at work on Thursday - and properly this time Am feeling really really well after my operation - I was back at the gym after 10 days!! If it wasn't for the 4 scars on my tummy, I wouldn't even know I had had it done!

I have started my Christmas shopping - but, like Spin, it is Sam's 1st birthday in 3 weeks so seem to be focusing on that a bit more at the moment (although it is hard to decide what to buy for him as he doesn't really need anything!). I can't believe my baby is nearly 1....where does the time go??

Now see this is what happens when I don't post for ages - it becomes an epic

AnnieOneForTennis · 30/10/2009 16:16

Hi ladies, hope everyone's ok!

CB, Josh must be very confident now then, after four months. Both of mine started off at the beginning of the week with two rings, and now Joey is down to one (though struggles a bit) and Mimi has just lost interest, she's so nosy just watching other people, that she forgets to kick or anything!! Funny to watch though, but must be annoying for the teacher.
Can't believe Sam is nearly one!!! He's only just born!!
Glad you're feeling so well after your op!
DH is more or less back to normal too, though still won't lift up kids. Fair enough.

Have a lovely weekend girls x x x

Hi all

Not very good at keeping up at the moment. Shall blame the tiredness caused by my boy waking every hour to an hour and a half during the night.

No trick or treaters yet. Am I rotten not taking the girls and knocking on complete strangers doors?

Have a good weekend!

HC, you take it easy there, lady. Hope Matthew will settle soon, a month old already eh?

Didn't take mine trick or treating either. We did pumpkins and had witches hats. They don't know what it is yet - they can wait!

Hope everyone's ok x

Hey

Am being pretty crap at keeping up - surprise surprise, now I am back at work, time is rushing away from me

Anyway, just wanted to say I have posted some new photos of (mainly) Sam but Josh aswell on my profile if anyone wants a nosy

Photo day at nursery tomorrow - Josh seems to be averse to having his photo at the moment so I really hope they can persuade him. Cos the photographer sets up in the baby room, I have told him that if he goes to have his photo taken with Sam, he can play for a little bit with one of the toddlers in the baby room that he has become rather attached to Seems to have worked as he is quite keen now

Hope everyone is ok

thefortbuilder · 08/11/2009 07:25

CB you reckon you're being crap at keeping up! I am so at the length of time it's been since I last posted.

HC your little boy is looking marvellous - how are you feeling lovey?

Hi everyone else - sorry I just can't keep up at the moment - manic with move stuff and work (HC your stuff is on its way just had a nightmare with the postal strikes) - have had some great press coverage so things are picking up nicely but it means what with work, fb and twitter I rarely have time to keep up on MN!

Boys are both ok - sam has been walking for a while now and is pretty much running and desperately trying to jump, bless him! Jacob is coming on leaps and bounds and is doing really well.

Not much else to report chez flick although that banana toffee cake looks pretty good boss - might have to make that when dh next goes to SA!

HumphreysCorner · 08/11/2009 20:15

Still here ladies and still up most of the night. Remind me why I thought having another baby was a good idea. Am sure the constant crying will stop one day, he just wants to be held or feeding all the time-bless him.

How is your Christmas Shopping going? Thank goodness for online ordering.

We have all been chatting for just over 4 years.

Big wave to all!

HC

thefortbuilder · 09/11/2009 10:29

he's a boy HC!!!

i'm just starting christmas shopping to be honest as we've just made the decision that we will be here for christmas and still in our own home. v pleased about that as it means we can have a tree and decorate the house properly this year!

jacob had a dreadful tantrum last night after bath. I was alternating between wanting to cry and laugh in alternate breaths he was being a real little bugger though...

HumphreysCorner · 09/11/2009 12:06

So, after several attempts at toy shopping in Tescos and having to leave due to M screaming I fed him in the car first this morning and changed him and went in determined to get some toys and use my £7-50 off voucher. As soon as I got in the store he cried so ignored all the looks/comments (one lovely lady spoke though) and would you believe that the shelves were picked over so couldn't get what I wanted. Put myself through stress for nothing.

Back to online then.....

flick-nice that you can stay in your house this Christmas.

Hello ladies.
Where is everyone?
HC hope you are ok.
Just back from Ireland. Knackered.

HumphreysCorner · 11/11/2009 16:42

flick-thank you so, so much for the gorgeous things you sent for Matthew. He will look yummy in them

My school mum friend has lent me a sling and what a godsend it is. Was able to get round Tescos with Matthew asleep instead of screaming. The minute he was put in it he shut his eyes and fell asleep.

Annie-hope you didn't over indulge in Ireland.

Hope all OK wherever you may be hiding.

thefortbuilder · 16/11/2009 21:27

so where is everyone or have you started a new thread and just not told me [paranoid emoticon]???

Ceebee74 · 17/11/2009 08:53

Lol Flick - I was thinking the same thing! I think Bloss might be on holiday now and Spin hasn't been around for ages (hope you are ok Spin).

All a bit manic here as it is Sam's birthday on Friday so busy making all the preparations for that - plus working etc.

x

HumphreysCorner · 17/11/2009 09:45

I'm here but the days seem to pass in a blur. Think I have thrush now as feeding painful so off to the Drs at 2-30pm. spin is our resident thrush expert.

Going to attempt some wrapping if Matthew will let me. He is so snuffly so may have a cold.

Have registered Sophie for school yesterday so hope she gets into Em's school.

New Years Resolution for us all-we will talk more as it is good to talk!

Love to all!

HC - I can't believe you are actually wrapping your Christmas presents I haven't even wrapped Sam's birthday presents yet and that is on Friday!! You must be very very organised

Flick - hope Sam is ok and it is not swine flu (although I am a bit of the 'better to get it over and done with' brigade )
