Hello how are you all??

I am back if you don't mind? I have just been able to come back to the thread (and MN recently)

Life is not fantastic still but is much better so.....

DH got a job (which is shit) and life is still hard) but we are managing.

Shortly after DH lost his job my we lost my aunt to suicide which knocked me for 6. Looking back i think i had a bit of a breakdown and just couldn't cope. I will be seeing the GP after the dc are back to school as i think i need to speak to her to get myself sorted properly. Don't want to keep living life going through the motions.

Anyway enough of that. I will need to read through the thread and touch base with you all and see how everyone is.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 03/01/2010 21:00

Can I pop my head round too?

Sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time algach, take care of yourself

We're all bumbling along ok, V had her first birthday and first proper Christmas (2 days old doesn't count...). She also managed to see the New Year in as she woke up at 11.45 (sadly taking after her brother in the sleep stakes). I've officially resigned from work, so now a fulltime SAHM, whatever that means... Dom is at preschool 3 sessions a week and loving it.

Oh, and I'm doing a pottery course (rock and roll!)

HumphreysCorner · 03/01/2010 21:31

Great to see you too back.

agalch, that is truly awful. Was she on your mum or dad's side? Am positive the GP can help you.

Rhinestone, at V already over a year old.

Big wave to Rhinestone

Will do a catch up tomorrow, off to bed to see if I can undo some hangover damage...

Hi all.

Algach - so glad to see you back, and very sorry to hear about your Aunt, that is very sad, so sorry for your family's loss Very pleased to hear your DH has got a job however shit, it is testament to his commitment and determnation that he has got any job in the current climate!

Hi Rhinestone, Happy New Year to you!

Happy Birthday Annie, hope you had a good one? How's the head?

I am back at work in London today. Was very prepared yesterday, all H's school uniform ironed and ready, both boys bags in the car, my bag packed and clothes ready. Machine swung into gear at 6.30am when T got into our bed, but because he is 3 (3 DH, HE IS 3!!!) he wriggled and chatted, and as per, DH exploded with rage and literally through him into his room. I told him (not in front of Toby) that I thought he was a bit heavy handed, and then I got both barrels, so a lovely big row to start our Monday.

He did at least have the grace to phone and apologise when I was on the train, which I did appreciate, but jesus I really do think he needs some anger management.

Spin, your week in Syd etc sounds great, wish I could join you. Don't think we will be getting a summer holidya this year, as DH hasn't worked since we got back from Egypt - can't lay bricks and dig holes in snow and ice. He is at home again today as it is -6 here. Which is not helping his mood - nor is not drinking, being on a diet, starting running, and giving up smoking.....

A bit early I know, but already stressing about what I am going to do when T starts school. Becuase he will only be just 4 he will do half days until Christmas. How the frig am I going to cope with that? No way the childminder will pick him up at 1 and then go back for H at 3....plus I don't think she could cope with the two of them in her small houses plus her own 2 year old DS....oh the irony that once both my children start school it will be harder than ever to work.....

Anyway, perhaps a tad premature to worry about it.

Hope all are well.

HumphreysCorner · 05/01/2010 10:39

spin-have a great time.

Bloss- not what you need when starting a manic day. My DH is not good when he is disturbed (last 3 months) but he wouldn't let rip so strongly. Roll on the better weather when your DH can occupy himself. -6 is cold, we are at -3 here or so my car says. Luckily our schools are full days from the beginning so Soph will do that straight away. Don't know what to suggest for Toby though, maybe you will have to change your job/hours.

Going to my Grandma's 100th B'Day party this afternoon. Oh eck, it is snowing now. Hope we don't get much as coal isn't coming until Thursday and we have no food in. Will help with the NY diet I suppose.

Big wave to everyone!

Morning all - meant to be at work today but it has been snowing since 7am and is about 4 inches deep already!! Got the boys to nursery on foot and me and DH are sat working on our laptops either side of the sofa I have never seen so much snow!!!

Agalch - sorry you are feeling so crap I agree with the others that your GP will help and get all the support you can!

Spin - have a lovely time - your hols sound like bliss!

Bloss - I am already panicking about Josh starting school and agree that it seems to be harder to work when they are at school. They do half days for about 2 weeks here which is ok - but it is the school hols that I am seriously panicking about. Even if me and DH took all our annual leave seperately, it still wouldn't be enough to cover all the holidays. At least nursery is open 52 weeks a year!!

Ah well, better look like I am doing something!!!

agalchchangedhername · 05/01/2010 11:10

Bloss just quickly, are you sure your CM can't accommodate you for that awkward period? I have done a double run for my parents when i know it's a sibling of a current mindee, and when i know the sibling will eventually be the same hours.

Have you asked her? It would be really unfair if you had to change your current childcare arrangements at this stage.

Hope you get it sorted out xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 06/01/2010 09:37

Thanks Algach. i will ask her. She is very accomodating so hopefully she will agree, and as you say it's not forever.....

CeeBee I would also recommend you look at a CM for Josh's school holidays or part thereof, to cover the weeks you have left over, or they do run clubs at local sports centres etc.....

We are officially snowed in. The panic buying in the shops yesterday was hilarious. BIL has been stuck at a roadside garage since 2am. Roads are closed, trains aren't running, schools are closed.

agalchchangedhername · 07/01/2010 07:59

Morning all

My god i can't remember when i ever felt this cold!!! I wish all the snow would go away God only knows how i'll get to and from school next week with my mindees. Nightmare!!!

I will need to have an early night, think i'm getting too old to be sitting up with wine gabbing to DH every night lol.

Ds2 wants to go to the shops today to spend christmas money but i really don't feel like dragging the dd's ad mindee round while he footers around Will try to persuade him to go another day, hate driving in this too.

Ds1 is in Florida with his pal and his parents. Will be back on Saturday, can't believe how much i have missed him. He was thinking about joining the Army but i am secretly hoping he doesn't lol.

My mood has lifted quite a bit in general. The arrival of a really lovely parcel before christmas from a Secret Santa (wonder who on earth could have nominated me ) and speaking to other folk about how i have been feeling has helped hugely.

Glad you have all had good xmas's and new years and that all the babes are doing well.

Mindee finished brekkie so gotta dash xxx

agalchchangedhername · 07/01/2010 20:06

Evening ladies

Has the cat got all your tongues then??? You are all soooo quiet lol. Changed days girls!!!

Having wine and nuts. Should really chuck all the contraband away but would be a waste wouldn't it?

Got an invite tonight to ds1's gf's 18th birthday bash. Bingo then food then a drinkie and a dance. How could i say no to all that??

Need some advice? I am going to a hen night. Food then pole dancing. Us doing it as opposed to watching it. What would you wear to that?? I ahve no clue lol.

Take care all xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 08/01/2010 11:06

Hi Algach - this thread goes funny, I check it every day but sometimes don't post, usually because I am the last post on there! Then you get a flurry....

Wine and nuts - add Toberlone to that and you have summed up my nemesis - I am on a mission to lse 3 pound, and am really really good all day, then the wine comes out, the nuts go so well with wine, and the Toblerone is a must with my late night coffee. I have chucked the xmas cake away, to my disgust, but just can't bring myself to bin it all. The boys think they have died and gone to heaven - chocolate snacks hourly to get shot of it, computer games all day, no school or nursery, and are both still in their pjs...

Am phoning the local sports centre on an hourly basis who are open, and we can walk to, but have a glitch with their heating at the moment! Desparate for them to get it fixed so we can at least walk there and go swimming.

DH is seriously climbing the walls - due to cold weather he has been unable to work since about 2 weeks before Christmas. He is using any excuse to get out of the house (digging out my car, going to barbers up the road, mercy missions in his 4 x 4). To be honest I am happy for him to go, he is doing my head in!.

Speak later.

Bloss

xx

PS - Pole dancing - loose jeans? Leggings? God knows Algach, intrigued....

Ceebee74 · 08/01/2010 15:08

Lol. I check the thread daily aswell but don't post as I am often the last post...we must make an effort to post when we check it

Bloss - 3 pounds?? Pah - I wish!! 15lbs to go here and I can't get to the gym because of the snow (I rely on my gym sessions to be able to eat to satisfy my huge appetite )

Agalgh - pole dancing, not that I have ever been but I am envisaging short skirts?? Am guessing jeans would be a bit tight to get your leg up iyswim Leggings would be good wouldn't they so maybe leggings, heels and a long top?

HumphreysCorner · 08/01/2010 16:13

I most definitely have the most weight to lose. Tried to start it on Tuesday but I can't be bothered it is too cold.

agalch-pole dancing????? Are you going to hang upside down?????

Emma's school shut today but the snow is minimal here. Still battling Em's headlice, they are a nightmare, a nightmare I tell ya!

Right, off to tidy in the kitchen. The girls have been playing with pastry..........

Hi Ladies!

I'm at work, and heading out tonight - bowling! Yes bowling... I know, strange. But a friend is leaving London for Thailand and her favourite 'thing' is bowling. It's a surprise too!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes - I had a nice day, went to the pub, some friends turned up with kids, someone got their car bashed so we were home for dinner time! But I was drunk enough... DH booked me a facial which I had yesterday which was very nice indeed. I bought myself a nice jumper dress from All Saints.

HC,CB,Bloss you skinny minnies. I need to lose about 7 lb, but weirdly enough actually lost a pound over the Christmas time... so I needed to lose eight before!! Oh well... Feel very fat though, even though it's not showing on the scales. (that is, the Wii Fit board).

Joey's school has been closed since Wednesday, we all slept in Wednesday morning as well, got ready in record time and trekked all the way there, only to find it shut! Mimi had her nursery though, she is now full time Tuesday and Wednesday and mornings on Thursday. She is ALMOST toilet trained, still occasionally has the odd accident, and we're getting her to wee during the night now, so she may one day be free of night nappies. School application is in, 15th January deadline, so we have to wait til April to hear. She is extremely cuddly at the moment, and is forever kissing me... But at the same time a little madam!

Algach, pole dancing!? Will there be an audience?? If so, then you better wear knickers girl!

HC Happy 100th to your Grandma!! WOW!

Right well, off to Selfridges... x

agalchchangedhername · 08/01/2010 18:30

Evening again lol

Mindee away bit earlier than normal cos they haven't made it into work all week with the weather. It's a nightmare here still in places!!!

So thought i'd treat myself to more wine and cashew nuts (just for a change) Am celecrating cos my boy is home from Florida tomorrow. Thought i'd do a nice family meal (all his favourites) and invite his Gf over too. He tells me on FB today that he's taking gf out tmrw for a meal cos he's really missed her. Oh well best laid plans........

Going to my best pals husbands book signing on Sunday, very exciting,it's his 1st ever book to be published!!! I hope it does brilliantly, they soooo deserve it. He has recently been registered blind so quite an achievement. He now has to listen to audio books as he only has around 1-2% vision and has given lots of his books to ds2 who loves the same sort of books.

Giving the dd's frozen pizza for tea tonight cos i just can't be arsed cooking. Have told DH to stop at our fave place and get a carry out tonight!!!

Oh well spose i better go and look busy. Or i may just sit and mooch around on here and FB.

Have a good night girls xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 09/01/2010 09:09

My Car is still stuck in the drive. DH will have to dig it out tomorrow. Roads round here really bad still, and no sign of the snow going anywhere, as it is still so cold. DH has a jeep thank god, it has been a life saver this week, and as he has gone to and fro he has pulled 4-5 people's cars out of ditches. We were looking out for him on the local news! "local mystery man rescues families from extreme conditions, accepts no payment or thanks, do you know this man?" etc

Been for lots of walks, my calves ache from walking in wellies! Have taken loads of photos too, everything is so beautiful. Will post a link later.

More snow forecast for tomorrow, so that will make next week interesting.....

Bloss

Wallace · 09/01/2010 09:24

Hi All, saw this thread in active convos and popped in to say hello

It dawned on me the other day that lots of these July babies will be starting school this year

We are in Scotland so no school for L til 2011 thank goodness!

HumphreysCorner · 09/01/2010 09:59

Hi Wallace, nice to see you. Not looking forward to Sophie starting school.

Our snow is rubbish here, melts by lunchtime then we get 1cm during the night. Road is a nightmare though as that doesn't melt so is like an ice rink. Haven't taken girls to dancing, too cold for them. Got to trek to Tescos later though.

Laters!

Afternoon ladies!!

God poor ds1's flight from Florida delayed 5 hours which in turn means they miss the connection from Gatwick to Edinburgh arrghhhh!!! So instead of being here at by 4pm today prob wont see him till early Sunday morning. They are planning to hire a car to drive up here which seems mad. Surely the flight people will put you on a later flight??? The dd's are really disappointed, they have missed him so much

Has been snowing here again this morning. Bloody snow!!!

Better go get a bit busy i suppose.

Have a good day all xx
