Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FiByTheSea · 02/09/2009 19:41

you know what.. i've been trying to remember when I knew i should do a pregnancy test this time last year.. and when i got my bfp.. my memory is rubbish these days as i can't remember! lol!!!

dinner for us was pasta with some turkey and lentil bolognaise i'd stored up for lazy tired days..

Febes · 02/09/2009 21:09

I test exactly a year ago because I had my first day of the new term at school the next day. I also had a MN freebie test. My friend got her BFP yesterday so all going well she will have a May 10 LO.

Roast beef (took it out on the weekend but never got round to it) for us with potatoes, gravy, carrots, peas, and broccoli. Was so yummy and felt warming in this awful weather.

SpangleMaker · 02/09/2009 21:26

I feel guilty now, hearing about your healthy meals - we had a chinese, as H was glued to the boob all evening and I forgot to take anything out of the freezer. Also trying to resist more wine - I can't remember where I got it from but it's gorgeous (a S African chenin blanc).... hope H sleeps through

flippineck · 02/09/2009 21:47

momino - lol at all that cheese!

fi - your plans sounds really interesting and incredibly exciting, very very best wishes.

spangle - lol at your story, but it's also a little bit sad that he didn't know where milk can come from. At the moment, DD1 tells anyone who listens that A has milk from mummy's boobies. My neighbour came to visit with her baby a while ago, baby was crying so DD1 suggested that baby needed milk from her mummy's boobies as that's what makes A stop crying! Neighbour laughed, she's BF too.

sophietom - A does that kind of cry too, usually when she's really tired but struggling to get to sleep. She's always chewed her hand madly though to settle herself. The dribble is getting worse though, so think teeth are moving, even if they aren't going to appear for a while.

Re the BFPs - mine was the mumsnet freebie too...can't remember when it was though ! Definitely around now though, because we knew before we went on the holiday from hell second week of september, was 7 weeks then. Perhaps I'll try to have a look on our first antenatal thread.

Smoked haddock chowder for tea here. DD1 ate loads. Hard day today, DD1 has been whiney all day and I find that worse than tantrums because it never stops.

Went to look at another house this afternoon with a friend, we were both interested in seeing it so could have been difficult if we both liked it! Luckily she didn't like it, and I'm not convinced. My DD1 is about the same age as hers, the girls were fascinated to find a huge spider in the bath and kept disappearing to look at it. Amused the estate agent!

FiByTheSea · 02/09/2009 21:49

spangle don't feel guilty.. we had chinese on monday for no other reason than we couldn't be bothered to cook!

Momino · 02/09/2009 21:53

evening all. just had our cheese-less meal of prawn/avocado salsa with soft tortillas. very healthy (don't normally eat healthy). I've already used 3/4 of a block of cheese to make cheese scones. 9 and 1/4 to go. whew.

nostalgic talking about when we got our BFP. I tested about 1 or 2 weeks ago last year. I remember because i'd known I was pregnant when it was dd2's birthday on the 29th and worried that feeding the lambs on the farm we went to would harm the unborn baby - there were signs telling pregnant women to stay away from them.

so many different names this time last year. it was an exciting, scary time [nostalgic emoticon].

Momino · 02/09/2009 21:54

flippin, i loooove smoked haddock chowder.

btw can we still look at our 1st thread? how do we find it?

llareggub · 02/09/2009 22:03

1st thread

flippineck · 02/09/2009 22:08

thanks llaregub - I'd gone off and searched for it, would have been quicker to wait for you! 6 September I got my BFP. That thread - well, actually, all of our threads - was a real emotional rollercoaster, wasn't it?

llareggub · 02/09/2009 22:15

Yes, I've just read through the first few pages and got a bit tearful. We've been through quite a bit together haven't we? And so many names we haven't seen for ages.

Right.

Love you all!

Momino · 02/09/2009 22:16

thanks llare! gonna have a quick read now!

Momino · 02/09/2009 22:24

ooh, I'm getting tearful as well. I clearly remember that 1st thread and all the names. hope they're all well (meaning the ones we don't hear from now for whatever reason).
ahh, love you all as well. xx

flippineck · 02/09/2009 22:33

Can't believe we've 'known' each other for a year now, so much has happened. Thanks guys!

Actually, I was thinking about how much has happened generally...it dawned on me that this year I've been married 10 years and I now have two children. That makes me sound old, but I'm still 18 in my head (although my body feels about 80 sometimes!)

llareggub · 02/09/2009 22:45

I know EXACTLY what you mean about still being 18. In fact, I sometimes get a bit shocked when I look in the mirror and see 34 year old me.

Jennster · 02/09/2009 22:47

Momino You were eating lots of cheese sandwiches a year ago. Your dh has had the snip hasn't he?

Momino · 02/09/2009 23:05

i guess I'm a bit of a cheese addict. i suppose it was a good product to mistakenly order 10 of instead of ordering 10 of something like toilet bleach.

yes, jennster, dh got the snip in Jun. is fine now and said he would start 'pestering' me for action in Sep. It's now september . i'm just not ready .

LoobyLou36 · 03/09/2009 08:32

Morning all

M was v.unsettled after her jabs yesterday but a dose of calpol, a feed and lots of cuddles seemed to sort her out she went to sleep at 8pm them woke at 11 for a feed then slept thro till 6.30!- yay!

not sure what to do today - might pop to town since it's not raining for a change

had a really weird dream last night - dreamt I was pg again! it was so realistic that when I woke up I felt for the bump

Febes · 03/09/2009 09:10

Just read our first thread

llareggub · 03/09/2009 09:19

looby I reckon it might be the hormones. DH got scared last night because I told him that I am broody and wouldn't mind a third.

Funnily enough he then complained of a headache and took himself off to bed!

pulapula · 03/09/2009 10:40

looby and llare- I am also getting broody but not sure why- it's hard enough with 3!. I would love another DD but i'm not really wanting to go through another pg and those nightmare early weeks again!

Got to get organised later as we are off to the coast on Saturday for a week. Hope the rain stops, although i have bought DD and DS1 some wellies as i'm sure we'll need them!

Febes · 03/09/2009 13:27

I've been feeling broody lately too mad!!!

flippineck · 03/09/2009 13:46

so glad it's not just me getting broody!

FiByTheSea · 03/09/2009 13:58

I've been broody since having ds 3yrs ago.. still there even after having g! dh and i started discussions whether we'd have another on the way to legoland a few months ago. broodyness went for 2days after having ds's pal to look after for the day.. but now thinking again. don't fancy being pregnant at 39/40 though

Momino · 03/09/2009 14:07

hi all. oh, I'm broody as well . but even if DH hadn't got the snip, I wouldn't want to go through pregnancy/birth again and know that 3 is the limit for me. 3 pregnancies in 3.5 years has taken its toll.

I'm not sure if I'm depressed or does BF cause one to be hormonal? I've read through our 1st thread and really cried. even though it was a tough time for a lot of us, the friendship and support I found on this thread is really overwhelming.

LoobyLou36 · 03/09/2009 14:16

just looked back at the old thread

I'd forgotten how scared/worried I'd been when first pg, every twinge I thought was another mc
counting down every day to scans, etc...

do I really want to do that again
