Grumpy I love the sponsoring sentence. Did you get a present too The French are not just proud of their language, but also very protective. It's a lovely language though, but I do prefer the sound of Italian or Spanish, all southernly and full of passion!

spangle MN went funny on me too earlier.

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 22:19

Momi I've seen it. Quite a funny film really. Not your typical American film. I thought it was good. at you going to a concert. DH isn't into music, nor is anyone I know in the UK. Last concert I ever went to was Cheryl Crow in Durham, NC when I was 20

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/09/2009 22:19

Oh Momi I'm so jealous - I love Elbow. Currently obsessed with Florence and the Machine though.

And Little Miss Sunshine is a wonderful film.

DH just texted - he's cooking chicken wrapped in parma ham with spinach and fettucine. That's our meal and he's cooking it for another . His best mate, like, and he has eaten nothing but pizza for a week .

hiya all :-) it's been manic here so not had time to post.. oh boy we can all chat when we get going!

no rolling here.. G is an ab's cruncher like C

hugs to all that need and hang in there..

& lol at translations

SpangleMaker · 11/09/2009 22:23

I used to be involved with an international organisation through work which is run by the French & operates in French and English. We had endless tedious arguments about the wording of various things because of the translation, usually after 4 course lunches with wine, in a darkened room... it was like torture! This one went on for ages: the vision was proposed as 'the association will be the world leader... blah blah' the French would not have it: 'not 'will be'! we are already the best'...

I have always maintained that France is lovely, but the French...

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 22:24

Yum, grumpy that sounds delicious.

I'm in a Mika period. I'm a bit behind though, but I found his old CD in the bargain bin in Morrisons (£3!) and have been listening to it almost non stop for the last 2 weeks. "Big girls you are beautiful" is my current anthem

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/09/2009 22:25

And no I didn't get a present and I have no idea what he was on about! The French are very protective of their language - L'Acadamie Francais I think that monitors and grudgingly allows the occasional interloper word into the language.

Oh and my DDs are horrified that they are supposed to kiss their teachers on a morning - plus you can see the other English parents thinking 'Paedo', it's worryingly funny. My guest kissed me good morning today........

R also a, like ab cruncher

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 22:27

Lol, spangle. Those meetings must have been fun. I think the French like having the last word and like mums, they're always right

Grumpy, like, you sound really cool, like, when you use, like in the middle of a sentence.

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 22:29

Gosh, all these x-posts. My poor head is getting all confused.

Febes, fi We've got ab crunching babies. I wonder why they do it. It looks exhausting!

SpangleMaker · 11/09/2009 22:31

Grumpy not offended just can't keep up with you quick posters!

Am enjoying being on MN all evening withough looks from DH, who is on an NCT dads' night out. Mmmm, lovely night ahead sleeping next to the wafts of stale alcohol and curry.... nice!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/09/2009 22:32

S is an abs-cruncher, it usually results in violent trumps.

Belgian a cat called Cat I like, like!

FiByTheSea · 11/09/2009 22:32

grumpy me likey the new lingo like

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/09/2009 22:33

Spangle you may be subjected to violent trumps then, if DH has been beering and currying .

OP posts:
SpangleMaker · 11/09/2009 22:35

I'll be getting them in stereo. At least H's don't smell of curry. (Hmm, rethinking the BLW)

SpangleMaker · 11/09/2009 22:38

Ooh must go and look at the cat names thread. An ex's parents had 5 cats: Black, White, Brown, Big 'Un and Little 'Un.

llareggub · 11/09/2009 22:39

You lot have been nattering away this evening. I've been out this evening for a drink and I feel like I'm getting a life. I took G with me so not so much of a break but the change of scenery was good.

I took G swimming today for the first time and he loved it, even when his big brother splashed him. We had a great time.

Off to catch up on all your news now.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/09/2009 22:41

The cat name thread reminded me of this site.

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 22:41

Talking about trumps. TMI, but I did a big one just as dd1 walked past me tonight and I told her "you don't want to walk there, I've just trumped". Upon which she answered "no it's C". And she just wouldn't have it that it was me . And I wasn't even trying to blame it on the baby

Oh, grumpy, x-post x-thread posts I think I'm going dizzy, like.

spangle Sounds like a good night's sleep is awaiting you

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 22:44

PMSL at the cat link grumpy Those cats really do look like Hittler!

BTW our goldfish is called Fish. We're not very good at thinking of animal names.

Spangle Ihad guinea pigs called little one and big one!

FiByTheSea · 11/09/2009 22:46

I'll have to do some reading about blw.. i know only what has been discussed here. G has been shoving anything within grabbing reach into her mouth given half a chance so when the time is right in another few months might try it..

beginning of the big growth spurt here over last few days as G has been feeding like no tomorrow esp in evenings.

SpangleMaker · 11/09/2009 22:47

Grumpy that site is ace! I'll show DH in the morning. We really miss having a cat (ours died at Christmas). We'd love to have another but planning to leave it until H is a bit older.

llare glad G liked the swimming. We haven't been yet but it's something I want to do.

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 22:49

fi Get the book by Gill Rapley. It's really really good and it makes it all seem so natural and common sense. After reading it I wondered why it wasn't more comon, because it does make so much sense what she's saying.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/09/2009 22:51

There is a cat on the Kitler website called 'Terratron'! What a great name.

Momi the picture of H & loyal hound George is unbelievably cute!

I'm, like, really tired so I'd, like, best be off to bed.

Night all.

Sweet dreams Spangle!
