running, just to echo what everyone else has said. Hope the appt comes through quickly but do try not to worry.

daizy, thanks for the measurement reassurance / waffle, much appreciated.

saus, I have no idea how you're managing to cope with your MIL especially re wedding arrangements, you're a saint! I would have had a melt down by now...

SES - congrats on the weight loss. I'm (re)starting my diet next Tuesday and doing it properly this time. It won't be fun but I am fed up of being porky! Besides which, if I whip a couple of stones off before Christmas I can eat like a demon over the hols....

Off to my M&D's (again) tomorrow to look at houses to rent. We were meant to be seeing an amazing one but the estate agent called this morning and said it had just been let today after 3 months of being empty, boo. Then NCT reunion in York on Sunday. Most of the girls see each other every week but it'll be nice for the boys to catch up too.

Must go and rinse off baby sick from multiple of my body parts / clothes.

Oh, F mastered rolling over today. He'd done it once before but did it at least 6 or 7 times this afternoon and is now really quick. Bugger. At least he only rolls over from back to front and then gets stuck on his tummy.

SpangleMaker · 10/09/2009 18:47

running as the others have said, try not to worry. I have had a heart murmur detected a couple of times, including when I was pg. The doc told me there are various types of murmur, some are very common, and most are completely harmless. In fact, he said his son had one and it didn't worry him. It's caused when the valves in the heart (which the doc likened to saloon doors!) let a bit of blood swish about as they are opening/closing. I was sent for an ultrasound when pg and told it was fine; the sonographer saw lots of pregnant ladies so they must be incredibly common.

Ses congrats on the weight loss I am hoping that making healthy meals for BLW will help me out. Hopefully I won't resort to snacking when H naps!

Belgianchocolates · 10/09/2009 20:48

Hi everyone,

My, my. Have we been chatty on here today

I've had a fab day. Met a load of mums in Canterbury. 2 of them were Dutch, so we've decided to do a St Nicholas get together for all our dcs as none of them have ever celebrated St Nick properly like they do at home.

Before carrying on I would just like to add that I feel that it is my duty as a Belgian that 'moules frites' is in fact not a French dish, but a Belgian one that has been stolen borrowed from us by the French Never had heart, but tongue is delicious, mmm... Especially with a Madeira sause. We used to have it as school too.

running I also do not know much about heart murmurs, but do know that they are very common and most of them are benign and resolve themselves. Though, saying that, they do need looking at just in case. However, if A had a serious heart problem, it would have been picked up by now, because he would have been ill from it. So try not to worry too much for now and hopefully your appointment will come through soon.

saus My mum kept inviting people too, but she thought it was OK, because she was paying . My main worry was the room as it wasn't that big. In the end we had the maximum amount of people attending. 1 extra person and we would have been in trouble

jael Poor J. Luckily he's allright. Your dd must have had a scare herself too when her good intentions went all wrong.

ses With my ds I did the same thing. I had him in his own cot by me with the sides down and I took him in bed with me for his 1st feed and generally he then stayed there, partly because I often fell asleep during the feed and partly because I was too lazy to get out from the lovely warm covers when he had finished. Like llare said. If it works for you just stick to it for now. Getting enough sleep in is the main thing. Also congrats on the weight loss. I find it so hard not to snack. Daytime I'm fine, but come this time of night and I cave in

rolling All these rolling babies today! C only manages to turn her chest, but her bum and legs don't follow. Her favourite thing at the moment is sitting in the bouncy chair and doing mini sit ups. She can sit with her head and shoulders off the seat for what appears to be ages. When she's on her mat, she does the opposite, legs and bum of the floor. She's clearly working on those abs at the moment!

LoobyLou36 · 10/09/2009 21:16

lol at working on her abs belgian jael glad J is okay

running two of my friends had heart murmurs as babies that resolved themselves and they have both gone on to have normal lives and children - try not to worry

saus at future MIL

well tonight is our first night without formula top-up bottle. As M is starting to wake for a feed at 10pm anyway I thought I'd give just BF a try again . It'll be alot easier on holiday that way. It took a little longer to settle her to sleep and I did have to perservere thro a fair bit of crying but fingers crossed it'll get easier? .

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/09/2009 21:27

I heartily agree with the weight-loss, I have been positively saintly myself. . I have no scales here but my jeans all keep falling down.

(swearing again for saus there, as she obviously has a filthy mouth and I think she needs to vent her obscene language spleen). I would have seriously considered MILicide by now! Saus I heart you btw for your sense of humour.

I have had lots of people in my big ole house today and it was marvellous, kids running around screaming, Amandine my French guest laughing at the kids' terrible French, people wandering in. I always thought I was an antisocial git (a grumpy old cow if you will), but I have discovered that I like being with people.

S can't roll yet but does lavish leg lifts, which only result in much trumping at the mo. I have come to realise that I am genuinely besotted with her. Much more so than the other 2. I don't feel bad about it as I thinks it's mainly due to being so much more relaxed and being able to take in all her little quirks. Properly besotted . Still love my other 2 just as much!

Must not go to fridge for pudding.......

Oh and belg yay to St Nicholas Flem-a-thon, I know it's a really major thing in Flemmish culture. How lovely to have people to speak Flemmish to as well (I think I'm spelling Flemmish wrong, I'm sorry). 'French' Fries are also a Belgian creation I believe?

Bloody thieving French.

Shutupshutupshutup Grumpy! Or 'shute' as the French hiss.

Looby Good luck with the no formula over the next few days. Hopefully you can build up your supply enough so you don't need to take formula with you. Like you said. Holidays are sooo easy when it's just your boobies that need to come along

JennsterFrogSaviour · 10/09/2009 21:46

Looby That's great not topping up!

Grumpy Dh bought me a heart once - a lambs heart I think - for valentines day 12 years ago.... We were skint as both students, him for the second time. It tastes like liver which I love. Don't think you can buy it as easily nowadays over here since BSE. I do like liver, tongue and kidneys with steak in pies and puddings, but draw the line at tripe. Just wiki-ed it and the word offal is derived from german abfall meaning garbage or literally 'fall-off' nice

Ses I think if they are old enough to roll onto their tummy's then they are ok to sleep on them. I was told with dd1, to put her down to sleep on her back, but if she rolls onto her tum then not to worry. I would be tempted to put dd2 down on her tummy now if she slept better that way, but she sleeps fine on her back.

Sausage You can't swear with stars if you are using more than one, as it bolds them. I find hash useful.

Went to the Trafford Centre with Sophietom and the babies. They were impeccably behaved and we managed quite a bit of shopping between pizzas for lunch and hot chocolate and cake for afternoon snack.

Dh and bil have just run up from the cellar with frogs in their hands. WTF is happening down in our cellar? Why are frogs accumulating down there? One of them was a big froglet from last year, all the others so far have been this year's froglets.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/09/2009 21:49

"I find hash useful."

Really????????

Slaps wrists.

Steals frogs to go in pond.

Belgianchocolates · 10/09/2009 21:50

Grumpy You're right, thieving French and all that, 'french' fries are in fact Belgian and one of the things our country is proud of, together with beer and chocolate

Belgianchocolates · 10/09/2009 21:57

Jenn What is going on with frog in your cellar? Have you got a pond in there? Are you breeding them to sell them to the French for dinner?

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/09/2009 21:58

belgian The Holy Trinity.

Beer. Chips. Chocolate.

Oh and the EU Headquarters .

So why ever did you leave?

OP posts:
Belgianchocolates · 10/09/2009 22:07

Grumpy I know, I should have just got DH to move to Belgium, rather than me upping sticks and crossing the channel. I would have been able to have proper chocolate and chips every day Actually thinking about it, maybe not a good idea. I'd be the size of a house and I do like to have the channel between me and my mum too. I think I'll stay here after all.

JennsterFrogSaviour · 10/09/2009 22:09

Hash! Oops You know what I mean! #########

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/09/2009 22:13

Jennster

Belgian But I've put the channel and a great deal of England betwixt my mother and me and she's still going to harrass me every 4-6 weeks .

My mum's not that bad really, but she'll really get on my nerves next week .....

OP posts:
Belgianchocolates · 10/09/2009 22:18

You have my sympathies grumpy Don't you have some 'studying' or other computer based serious activities that need doing while she's there

My own mum has anounced that she's comming for a day with Le Shuttle. They'll also bring my 90 yo grandmother, so that'll be nice. I think I can cope with her for a day.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/09/2009 22:41

Belgian I have an 8 bedroom house to clean. Should keep me busy .

I think your mum and Grandmother coming for the day sounds lovely! Just do-able I think.

Momino · 10/09/2009 22:45

Grumpy/Belgian, I took the drastic measure of moving across the atlantic to a different continent away from my mother. actually, I do miss her . it's been a year and a half since I've seen her.

jennster, hash .

rolling, Harper has been practicing her rolling over. I can't put her down flat without her twisting over onto her belly almost immediately.

Momino · 10/09/2009 22:47

grumpy, 8 bedrooms , where do you find the time?

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/09/2009 22:50

Momi I give each room a quick swirl-over every day and then Wednesdays (girls off school) and weekends are now designated super-laundry-cleaning days. They earn money for helping me.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 10/09/2009 22:56

OP posts:
Belgianchocolates · 10/09/2009 23:03

Goodnight grumpy I'm exhausted just thinking about cleaning 8 bedrooms. 3's enough for me thank you very much.

momi I can imagine how you must miss your mum with the atlantic between you. The channel is just right for me, close enough for short quick visits, but far enough not to have her around every week or something.

Goodnight too. DH is away tonight, so I'll have the bed all for myself. Yay

flippineck · 10/09/2009 23:19

I'm far too late again to catch up properly again, sorry ladies.

If anyone's looking for feeding underwear, there's HotMilk stuff is on Secret Sales at the moment. I'm just looking, and am slightly - anyone know what the sizing is like? I'm wearing a G cup in the Anita bras, does nayone think a FF is a bit like a G? Or is it smaller?

LOL at hash, beer, chips and chocolate...all the things Ilove about Europe - ooops, that wasn't what you meant, was it?!

Don't eat meat, but never really understand the offal thing. If you eat the rest of it, why not eat heart, liver, etc? Genuinely puzzled.

I knew poo was brewing - A has pooed hugely four times today, and the nappies have leaked every time, cloth and disposable. Hopefully that's it for another week though!

jael - glad J is ok.

running - I have a slight murmur too. Only found out when I was 18 and I wanted to go on the pill, never spotted before that. Had a scan, everything fine, allowed to go on the pill and it's never been mentioned since.

looby - good luck with the no formula.

LoobyLou36 · 11/09/2009 08:19

rough night here

after going down at 7.30, then 10-10.30, 1.50-2.30, then she woke at 4.45 and I really struggled to get her to feed, she kept squirming and crying, ended up bringing her downstairs at 5.30 managed to calm her down enough for a short feed and she fell asleep on me for 40mins at 6am

I think she needs a poo

it's been so long since I've exclusively BF that I'm struggling

I think the best thing to do is go out for most of the day so I haven't got the bottle as an option?

LoobyLou36 · 11/09/2009 08:32

I've got killer heartburn - always get it when stressed

starting to worry about the holiday next week, part of me wishes we were going somewhere in this country

it's the flight I'm worried about with M, at M&B group yesterday afternoon she cried and screamed for about an hour on and off when I tried to get her to feed - worried she's going to be like that on the plane, I know my DH will just say "give her a bottle of formula to shut her up for christs sake!" his normal response

she doesn't use a dummy - do you think I should get one to try and sooth her? if so how did you get your lo's to get used to a dummy?

any suggestions greatly appreciated

Belgianchocolates · 11/09/2009 08:35

looby I think it's probably difficult to just suddenly switch to exclusive bf. You'll have to have a few hard days with lots of bf to build up your supply. Expressing inbetween feeds might help as well. Also if you do end up with a ff, maybe you could express around that time to keep stimulating your supply. Good luck
