I've just seen Sausage's link (sorry Llare/Belgian if I've not included apostrophe right ) and am proud to let you know I know the people wot did it! It's DH's local castle from where he grew up .

I should really go to bed now but DH keeps texting me for answers at the pub quiz he is at

Tummum · 07/09/2009 22:49

Grumpy please save me from my laundry cupboard hell !

Momino · 07/09/2009 23:34

evening all. just got back from a book club (but I hadn't read the book ).
tummum glad you had a good meeting, hope you've now gone to bed to recharge.
reebee, not sure I'm going to the cinema this week, a bit broke. also not very fussed about the films on offer. but let me know if you want to meet and when.

everyone else, hope you're all well. Name check amnesty for me as well. I need to go to sleep after last night's fiasco when all 3 were awake and hard work. Hoping for a better one tonight.

at least we got out of the house today. went to the park and then to a friend's for lunch. I felt oh-so accomplished.

Happy school to all of you with school age children. will catch up properly later.

Jennster · 08/09/2009 08:29

Oh and another song I sing to S is "My name's S, I am so gummy, I got no teef" whilst doing that 'lips over teeth so you look like you got no teef' thing.

[hmmm]

Morning ladies

Had a much better night last night, me, DH and F all in bed before 9.30pm and asleep before 10pm! F only woke once at 4.15am and then at 7.30am. Phew, things are looking up.

Grumpy, I give in: est-ce que nous pouvons reserver un emplacement pour une grande tente en l'ete prochaine? I am very of your lovely weather. And, yes, we're east of York (Pocklington).

It is about to rain here and I have washing out, sigh.

Momino, cool re the cinema this week. I could come into York on Friday or we could arrange something for next week? Love the photos you've put on Facebook - grumpy and sophia are equally photogenic, the swines!

I have so much random rubbish to sort out and no impetus to do it. Need to look for houses to rent as well.

Right then, am off

sausagenmash · 08/09/2009 11:51

Grumpy

Mostly re: weather, and also linen cupboard of love. Sigh. And I LOVE Carrefours. My Dad and dp are nipping over to France next weekend to buy wedding booze, and I think they are Carrefour-ing et aussi Auchan-ing. Dad is also after some particularly stinky cheese and I have an order in for smoked duck. My GOD woman, I am SO BLOODY JEALOUS.

MIL is STILL here. When is she effing going? I had a visit from the HV today, and last night, dp gave his mum STRICT instructions to make herself scarce when HV is here, as he explained that she may need to talk about 'personal stuff' (his euphamism to his Mum re the PND - not that I'm ashamed, but she doesn't need to KNOW). Anyway. What did she do? Just bloody sat there bobbydazzling away I made her a coffee and me a tea and deliberately left it in the kitchen and said 'woops I've left your coffee in the kitchen, just need to strip M'.... so she went and got it and I had to whisper to the HV that she didn't know about the PND very quickly, and she got the hint not to say anything. Phew. Helped her rather unnecessarily to the car with her 2 bags (!) and we whispered on the drive. How daft. Still, she is coming back in 2 weeks and said for me to call her anytime if I want to. Bless But still. at bloody MIL! Dp is livid. Eeek.

Tummum (was it you?!) noooo waaaay re the sheep link thing!!!! I didn't think it could have been real! Very funny though!

Ahem. I bought a stoneware muffin tray last night. Oops. We had to take it in turns to do some food prepping, and I had to pour batter mix into a similiar tray to make yorkie puds and they came out AMAZING. I HAD to buy one. Jennster - glad I can be an inspiration! Have you found them?

Am pretending to MIL that I am studying, but I'm not, I'm chatting to you lot. Hehehe

ReeBee · 08/09/2009 12:02

PS forgot to say, thanks for the info / advice on sleeping arrangements and own rooms. Will keep F in with us for a while longer...

Febes · 08/09/2009 12:22

Hi everyone,

Lovely day here today- Not quite 30 but must be close.

Grumpy It sounds amazing, the homegrown bounty, the linen cupboard, the chateau

I am looking after my friends 22 months old this week so DD and him are having a ball playing together. Its pretty full on though but luckily they both nap for 2 hours+ so I have a chance to rest a bit and play with DS in the middle of the day.

Sorry I haven't got time to name check everyone but need to eat and have more coffee before the toddlers wake up.

Reggiee · 08/09/2009 12:55

Saus I am enjoying your studying . Stay here and stay sane .

I think it's someone's birthday today but can't remember who . Happy birthday to youuuuuu

Reggiee · 08/09/2009 13:01

P.S Has anyone got a bank / bulding society for their lo? I am looking for a high interest account to pop in some loose change that is building up in dd piggy bank. High interest good but I wouldn't have thought there will ever be a great deal in it for a few years (don't mind notice period for withdrawals). Should realy look into it myself at moneysavingexpert or equivalent but would appreciate anyone else's view. TIA!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 08/09/2009 13:23

saus Qualifications? Anyone can have those , however, a group of women posting random thoughts and songs they sing to babies? Now that's a rare commodity. So don't bother studying. Your MIL yet I am sorry to say, also . What is it about them?

We'll all probably be MIL's one day

OP posts:
sausagenmash · 08/09/2009 13:25

Reggiee - bank account for M is on dp's list 'to do' but hasn't sorted it yet. Gr.

She is still here. She is singing Jingle Bells to M. My poor child will become seasonally confused. I need gin.

Bloody hell. THE SUN IS SHINING!!!!! Quick, quick, do some washing!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 08/09/2009 13:29

Or would that be 'Gingle Bells'?

Saus she sounds as mad as a stick!

OP posts:
Reggiee · 08/09/2009 13:29

Good sun call Saus. It's just come out here but too busy on MN to put the laundry mountain back out.

Grumpy I will be a lovely mil.

BTW, B isn't too keen on my random singing (strangely, he didn't like my version of Starship earlier today) but he does like it when the "kissy-monster" attacks him....

Belgianchocolates · 08/09/2009 13:30

Afternoon everyone,

It's 27C here today and the sun is shining in all it's gloriousness. Not a cloud in the sky It's now raining where I used to live. Hurray for the move

Tummum So glad that your meeting was useful. It's getting it all into practice now that's the challenge. Oh and you're apostrophe was right

grumpy fun this supermarket exploring isn't it.

saus I hope that your mil will go soon. My own mum drives me mad when she visits, but I'm slowly learning to let it all go over me for a week or so. I have to for my own sanity. Pretending to study is a good strategy. I try reading, but my mum doesn't get that hint only place I'm safe from her is the toilet

rebee glad you had a better night.

febes Good luck with the 2 toddlers. Sounds like hard work!

overtiredness I've got one of those babies at the mo. If I don't catch her just right she'll fall asleep on the breast or something and then I can't transfer her without waking. That's what happened this lunchtime. She's slept 30min, is still tired, but wont go back to sleep. So now she's on my lap. The only place she's happy.

Does anyone else's lo try to grab anything that gets near them? C can't actually purposely grab things yet, but if I get near her with a drink or have her on my lap while eating I have to be very careful or she'll knock my drink out of my hand or something, because she's trying to grab it. She dunked her hand in a bowl of soup the other day when on DH's lap. Luckily the soup wasn't too hot anymore, but she still screamed from the shock of it. And now she keeps trying the "help" me type, by leaning forward and putting her hand on the key board. She's getting so strong

We went the to m&t/b group today and everyone was lovely. I've offered to help out next week.

Belgianchocolates · 08/09/2009 13:52

Aah, so sweet. C is now babbling away to the rabbit hanging of her babygym. Aah. So cute. She's doing little squeals, going up and down with her voice, mmm, aaa, rrrr, g g, mmrrrr. I love babies!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 08/09/2009 13:59

Reebee I meant to say that your photos on FB are FAB!

A) He's gorgeous and

B) The ones of him with the dogs/cat make me go all awwwwwwwwwww

Hi All,

blotted hiya, didn't mean to make you feel bad for not being on here. Nice to see you. Am loving the pink hair btw

reg we have the child trust fund and that's it. My FIL is a bank manager and said that its best to put as much as poss in there as its tax free. Is that an option for you?

saus grr at MIL. Your study sounds a bit like my 'lesson planning'

grumpy lol at your supermarche research. I used to think Carrefour was so glamourous when we went to France on holiday as kids

tum glad business meeting went well. Am seriously impressed with your work especially with 3 lo's to look after too.

febes 2 toddlers and a baby. Wow no wonder you need caffeine!

Bad day here. A has been referred to GP as she's not gaining enough weight depsite feeding every 2 hours in the day and 3/4 hourly at night. Feel like a right old failure Burst into tears at the baby clinic and felt like a right idiot.

aah got to go, A is rolling aover on her mat and getting annoyed when she can't roll back again.
