Heheh picturing TS sat on the loo frowning at a loose bit of wallpaper, picking it off and losing several hours caught up in the peeling moment.

Had builder round to quote for our kitchen refit, God knows how much it will cost. Need ceiling artex smoothed, floor levelled and laminated, window turned into a door, door turned into a window and the new kitchen itself built. The room is 7m long so that's a lot of ceiling and floor!

Been feeling weird this weekend, bit worried I'm going back to how I was with low thyroid at the beginning of the year. Might explain the late period and the hypo/anxiety attack last week? Alternating between 'I envy us' optimism and just feeling of discomfort in my own skin. Wishing away my awake-hours eg zoning out playing FB games, reading myself to sleep. Really should give the spare key to our neighbour in case my locking-out problem starts up again. Will give it another week to see how I am then ask GP to sort me a thyroid test.

Buckets were you peering in my bathroom window yesterday afternoon. VERY ODD that you described the scenario to a T. On that note, I will remark that not once did DH come to check on me. Good thing I wasn't stuck in the loo.

As for the dip in mood...I went through that a few weeks ago, No1 went through it recently too, Cyteen as well if I remember correctly. I'd not worry too much Buckets because in this crowd you seem normal.

Sazzles sorry dd1 is still low. Her eating will be back to normal soon I'm sure and she'll be prancing around the house singing at the top of her voice.

Off now to work more in the bathroom. I had to go find paste remover. ARGGGG let's hope this finishes the job!

Have cheered up for the night. DH and I spent a lovely couple of hours working on a song he had started ... and it rocks! Then he was tinkering around and we turned it into the beginnings of another! We're going to record a demo of the first one tomorrow night. No online stuff yet but if you want to hear the other one we did together send me your email and I'll sneak you a file for your ears only.

RedLentil · 13/09/2009 22:55

Lurking mainly, due to fantastic weather, pre-carpets decorating and other stuff.

Buckets, had to come on though to say you describe how I feel lots of the time to a tee. Either blessed and in the moment, or disconnected.

Three children and all their baggage and needs is overwhelming at times. I find when I take my iron and folic acid it really helps to keep my mind in a positive place.

I have had a wonderful day with my gang on the beach today. DS, who is having a shitty time with bullying again , was just so happy digging a huge hole.

DD1 built over 40 sandcastles and just kept on trying to get one right, indomitable little spirit that she is, and DD2 marched around with a spade, plonking herself down on my lap periodically in a way that made it clear I am the centre of her world.

Yay to the music making. Would love to hear it, and I'll send my email tomorrow. A brief moment with DH is about to start ...

Waves to TS.

Hope the knee is a bit better Miamla.

And welcome to Charlotte ...

TwilightSurfer · 14/09/2009 00:55

OMG! I HATE WALL PAPER PASTE!!!!!

Red that sounds like the most amazing day.

Buckets glad you perked up. I'd love to hear the song. You can snag my email off FB. I love bootleg material!!!

TS you Amaze me with your decorating skills and enthusiam for the job.. there is so much that needs doing to my my house, i get mad about but never get off my backside to do it!!

Glad seb had a great party AnnVan

Loving your beach day Red ...

Well DH back today and about time.. i have done so much with the girls this weekend, whilst sporting a temp of 102!!!.. definitely got some kind of lurgy ( the one where you should be in bed!!).. we went to Hatton Country World on Sat and it is a fantastic day out if anyone is every near there ( obviously close to me so a meet up is mandatory) ..

Took an hour and half to get both girls to sleep last night.. then dd2 woke up at 10, 12 3.15 4.30 and 5.15.. moved her to my bed where she kicked and punched me, dd1 came in about 5.30 and we came down stairs at 6.. phew..

So sorry for the mamoth post!!!!

TwilightSurfer · 14/09/2009 07:29

Oh Lucky a temp that high would leave me koo-koo. Seriously! You've earned a HUGE badge of parenting honor in my book.

It's 2am here. I can't sleep. Exhausted I dozed off earlier only to wake amidst the worst nightmare. Extremely thirsty so got up for water. Realized my throat feels odd so made tea. Laid down in the girls room to listen to them and make sure they don't sound ill. Now on the computer researching decorating ideas.

Seems I'm more European than I thought. Nobody in the US has peg rails but they are every where in the UK. I'm planning to put a peg rail down one wall in the hall bath. The bath is galley style, one wall with nothing the full length and all the plumbing bits down the other opposite wall...single window at the end. It will be perfect but I wanted to see if there were any real pictures similar to the image I've conjured up in my head. I'm toying with wainscoting up to the peg rail. Oh and pegs won't really be pegs. Instead I've found these wonderful dragonfly hooks.

Sorry...drifted off into renovation land. Didn't mean to bore.

Hoping all a very lovely day. When mine officially begins I can guarrantee it will be ROUGH.

Here's some matchsticks Lucky. Just keeping a couple on the desk for me to use in a few hours.

Night...again

Morning All

Who has the matchsticks???? DD awake every 1.5 hourss last night just for the hell of it! She was very overtired yesyterday, she had one nap from 10-11, and we know overtired means bad sleep so I was sort of expecting it. She came in with us at 5.45 and fed then slept until 7. She now a tired stroppy creature, I think we will have an at home routine day to get her back into the swing of things..

We had a fab weekend. Went to my parents on Saturday and had a fantastic time. DH and I went blackberrying and DD srayed with my folks and help them set up for their Proms party, which they have every year in their hippy comune at the big old conveted house they live in. We left them at about 7.30 and brought DD home asleep in the car, did the transfer and she slept with only 1 wake up at 4am . Then yesterday we went out to lunch and a BIG walk.

Ann - glad Sebs party went well

No1 - where are the thread charlotte pictures.

Lucky - I feel your sleeping pain this morning

Sazzles - Sounds like a very good weekend. Hope DD is back on top form soon.

Red - your beach day sounds heavenly

Buckets - I have had a couple of weeks of feeling like you described and when I had my bloods done I needed a meds increase so please get it seen to.

TS - you are officially NUT

hotterpotter · 14/09/2009 08:06

TS your bathroom idea sounds lovely hope you manage to get back to sleep!

Loti I agree you deserve a medal I suppose you have no choice but to soldier on when left in the lurch by DH but still, well done. I hope he brought you back a good present?

Feeling a little rough here too, sneezing and sniffing from me and coughing/whining from DC, but no temperatures. Better to have it now than on holiday I suppose (19 sleeps ) Plus I think DS is suffering with his teeth, all 4 canines seem to be on their way out, and he is refusing to eat anything more chewy than banana Just glad I never gloated on the unfussiness of my children re food if this is actually the start of something else

hotterpotter · 14/09/2009 08:10

X-post hey oops sorry to hear your night was bad but glad you had fun with your parents. Do they share the big converted house then? [nosey]

oopsacoconut · 14/09/2009 08:15

HP - yes their flat is part of a great big old 14th century house where they are all old hippes really! Although a young couple have just bought one of the old parts to renovate and I think they were in for a bit of a shock when all the oldies got together!

oopsacoconut · 14/09/2009 08:16

HP - Sorry to hear your afeeling rough and DS too. DD is off her food at ther moment too - onlt tomatoes and banana will fo most of the time!

hotterpotter · 14/09/2009 08:18

Oooh 14th century, sounds expensive lovely

oopsacoconut · 14/09/2009 08:21

HP -= it is only a flat though and still, 13 years down the line, needs renovating to take it out the 70's but dad thinks it's 'fine'

hotterpotter · 14/09/2009 08:35

I'm sure the 70's will be back in fashion any time now Am not really enjoying the current 80's revival though. Don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see what the youth of today are wearing (I usually laugh ) then realise I sound like my mother, youth of today ffs .

lol hotter. I can just picture us all doing that sniffy hitching-arms-up-under-bosom/cats bum mouth thing that Les Dawson used to do so well I find myself watching music tv and thinking 'what on earth is the appeal of this shit?' I'm sure N-Dubz is recorded in an enjoyment frequency that only teenagers can hear And don't get me started on Pixie Lott

Anyway...

Buckets what Lentil says about feeling blessed and in the moment or disconnected pretty much sums up how I spend my life. But I agree with oops, it's worth getting your thyroid checked as you've had issues with it before.

Red what a lovely beach day but how sad for your DS that he's being bullied Please give him a big hug from me, if that's not too weird. He always sounds like such a thoughtful little guy, I hate to think of him having a hard time.

DS is in bed, having been up since 5am (not that I should complain as saintly DP got up with him and I slept till 7am ) so I really should be having a shower/listing stuff on Ebay. Laterz

AnnVan · 14/09/2009 10:35

wow sounds like bad nights all round.
Seb awake every half hour apart from one two hour stretch. DP just lay in bed and pulled the duvet over his head. But then he's not talking to me at the moment, so heaven forbid he actually help. He had a lie in till after 11 yesterday morning, then proceded to play a game all day. So at 9.30 when I started up a game for a little relax time, he got narky that I wasn't doing any cleaning if he was that bothered he should have done it himself instead of playing a game all day. So I got annoyed and now he's not talking to me.
Someone remind me: WHY am I trying for a second child with this man? Actually think I've changed my mind now.
Poorly Seb unfortunately. He's very snotty and got terrible wind. he was doing these explosive sounding farts last night, and still farting this morning.
And he's now playing with a puddle of pee got to go.

Erm Hotter, the 70s revival was most of the 90s! Remember the long straight hair with side parting, flares/bootcuts, arrival of the Grolies (Guardian Readers of Little Intelligence in Ethnic Skirts)? After a mini 60s revival (centre partings, floaty tops and lovebeads) in response to the acid-filled 88/89 '2nd summer of love.' And 70s interior design has been big for ages, look at all that wood veneer and giant patterned wallpaper. It will all end in tears and our kids will be mortified to have friends round.

sorry to hear dd1 is still feeling poorly sazz.. bed is the best place for her, lots of calpol and cuddles!!

TS do i detect the dreaded lurgy heading your way?

managed to get dd1 off to nursery with much bartering and the promise of not having tea there but coming home for spagetti hoops and toast ..

dh is going straight from airport to office as he has things to do .. does the fact that i have/have had a fever for days mean nothing???????????????????
