Oh, it's gone all quiet, is everyone on the antenatal threads instead?

I am preparing for dh to go away tomorrow for a couple of weeks with work, have just realised that he will be missing Mother's Day so I will have to organise the children myself!

How are all the LOs doing? Bryony has now learnt to jump and is bouncing all over the beds and furniture, but unfortunately also head-first onto the floor! She has a cracking bruise in the middle of her forehead this evening, but I'm hoping it might teach her to be a bit more careful before launching herself off the sofa.

Isaidno · 03/03/2010 17:13

Poppy likes to climb and jump lately too!
Good to hear from you disney, love to Sam x

pigleychez · 04/03/2010 16:06

Hello all,

Havent forgotten you.. just been abit busy lately, what with birthdays, arranging hen/stag do's and thier accomodation.

DH got promoted and gets a nice big payrise with good perks. Also got his annual bonus too
Hen weekend has been changed.. A few people dropped out so we had been manically trying to
find new accomodation. We are now renting a private cottage in North Devon. Planning to go Horse-riding (Obviously not me!) and spend a day at a health spa! Fabby DH has given me £200 to treat myself at the spa Cant wait!
Im arranging a large luxury hamper to come with us with champers, chocs, cakes etc too.
DH is the best man so busy arranging the blokes weekend in Dublin, Go karting etc.

Abigail is becoming quite the expert at throwing tantrums! She has perfected her scream at you perfectly. She just gets soooo frustrated so quickly. Past few days ive noticed her getting cross with a toy and then biting it! Hoping that this doesnt progress any further!
Still chatting away nonstop, LOVES books and will read for ages and ages. Shes currnetly into the new baby books we bought her and seems to get the idea pretty well.

Im now 29 weeks and HUGE!
Midwife appointment today was interesting..
I have to see a consultant due to high sugar levels in my sample, Baby measuring 31 weeks and my Glucose test coming back high.
My 28 week bloods (blood counts/cell counts/iron levels) have all come back as high/low etc.. Ie not normal! Now need Iron supliments.
My sample this week tested postive for almost everything! Only thing it didnt show was protein. Thats now been sent off to check for infections etc. Feels like im falling apart!

Hope all Mummies and Babies are well Keeping you all on your toes no doubt
xx

Just watching P eat a bowl of shreddies & drip milk all over the table so thought I would catch up with you guys!!

Disney - Sam is such a little superstar! How are his feet now?

Ponto - P has learnt to jump too & 'bunce' (bounce) on sofas/beds! Heart in mouth time!!

Pigley - sorry you are having such a crappy time with this PG. Not long now though surely? Then it will all be forgotten!

P is the tantrum queen here as well! She has developed a proper girly high pitched screech. Think it is mainly frustration, but she also hates being told 'no' & it usually makes her more determined to do what you told her not to!

Her words are coming thick and fast & she copies everything you say not always a good thing!!! She is getting very good at stringing words together which is lovely & is helping stop the frustrated biting/scratching as she can explain what she wants better.

Had a fab appointment with my specialist nurse yesterday to discuss my drug options for MS. Finally got DH to commit to TTC at the end of the year so I would only be on injections for 6months. Nurse is going to ask consultant if he thinks it is really necessary, so fingers crossed I don't have to have them at all. Plus they have said if I have another baby & don't bf then I can start treatment straight away postnatally. So would need to think long and hard over what was best really. BFing or not relapsing! It just is really nice feeling that finally DH & health professionals are listening and agreeing to me!

Hope everyone is well & that the little monsters aren't running you all ragged!!

ponto · 12/03/2010 20:39

Bebe that's great news about the drugs and being 'allowed' to TTC. Did it take you long when you were TTC Phoebe? (Not that that's necessarily a good indicator, dd1 took a few months but dd2 and Bryony were as soon as I came off the pill - before I was even really sure I wanted to TTC in Bryony's case!)

DH is still away and I have been dealing with some amazing tantrums recently. Can anyone suggest how to persuade a 20 month old to get out of the bath voluntarily? It always seems to end with me carrying her kicking and screaming out of the bathroom. Today I had to leave her naked in her cot for 5 minutes while I went out of the room, to give her a chance to calm down enough for me to put her pyjamas on! At least this was at home though, rather than in the changing rooms of the swimming pool like yesterday.

Pigley, hope the results of all your tests are ok. Let us know how you're doing.

SK, has the SPD come back this pregnancy?

bebejones · 13/03/2010 08:31

Ponto - we used to have the screaming fits when it was time to get out of the bath. Usually she would thrown herself on the floor (tiled ) and kick you if you tried to put a towel on her! We just carried on with the bath 'routine' and now she sort of gets it that when she has her hair washed she will be getting out of the bath straight after. We pull the plug out & she stands up & there is no fighting!

As for TTC, I was pg straight away with P. I am under no illusion though that it could take longer next time. Especially since there is more pressure in a way because of my health! Just going to make sure I'm in the best shape possible when the time comes....9 months & counting!!

MinnieMummy · 14/03/2010 21:32

Hello all, another climber here - Poppy put her hands on her older brother's shoulders this week and just launched herself off the sofa at him, he was more than a little stunned! DH took them to the park this afternoon and came back telling me that she can now go up and down the big slide (really tall helter-skelter stylie one) all by herself - to which I said 'and what happens when I take them over on my own and can't be behind her on the steps??!' to which DH says 'oh yeah.. didn't think of that'!!

Am huge huge huge here too (31 weeks) and quite slow with the SPD and everything, am dreading if the DCs realise they can outrun me. Am blardy sick of all the comments as well from strangers - I've lost count of the 'Is it twins?' followed up by 'Are you sure?'. It's just a matter of time before I am really quite rude to someone really (think my sense of humour is somewhere buried beneath the bump).

Also we're looking at three in nappies here.. DS just isn't really interested and we can't seem to motivate him, he's just not bothered. Grrr.

On a positive note, only two days of work left... I took another position just to get full maternity leave, when it's time to come back I'll have a year's worth of holiday to take so if it's a job that doesn't suit me I'll only have to do 7 weeks or perhaps less and then I could quit without having to pay any mat leave back.

Hope all the mummies had a lovely mother's day!

ponto · 21/03/2010 14:33

Have been having internet problems again here so have been missing my MN 'fix'.

Hope your last 2 days of work went well Minnie and that you get some chance to rest while on maternity leave. Bryony is getting quite adventurous at the park too and when we went to an indoor play centre yesterday she only stayed in the toddler area for 10 minutes before demanding to be taken onto the main climbing frame etc, so I had a good workout crawling behind her!

Bebe, thanks for the tips, I have been working on the bathtime tantrums this week and found that Bryony is much better at getting out if I leave her until after I have got dd1 and dd2 out, rather than getting her out first as I was doing. It's amazing how much she wants to be like her big sisters, she just won't be left out of anything.

Looking forward to our first Center Parcs trip next weekend, just sorting out the bikes today. Also trying to deal with the huge washing mountain that DH brought back from his trip away. I am starting to worry about setting gender stereotypes to the dds, so have sent dh out to the supermarket this afternoon (took pity on him and didn't make him take the dcs though!)

disneystar1 · 24/03/2010 07:24

just needed to post really, weve gone through sams op and the boys medical care and thought we were out on the other side, my husband has a rare genetic didease as you know as its passed on to our sons, i feel so sick typing this but i dont know where to go or what to do, they think my husband may have stomach cancer, hes so ill right now, losing weight hes pure white hes been like it for weeks ttheyve rules out nearly everything else, they say he has every sympton of it, hes beside himself with worry here, hes been off work but hes back just driving the coach now, but even i can see its a matter of time when he cant work anymore, he lies on the sofa just sleeping, and trust me this is from a man with a mountain of energy, in 11 years hes never once slept on the sofa, im sitting with him nearly all night just cuddling him as hes in so much pain......
i pray to God there wrong and we will find out soon, cos im scared really scared, when you see a 16 stone man just getting so small, and weak i dont know what to do.....any why him why us, havnt we done enough already.....some of you know him from facebook and this is why he hasnt been on in months, he has no energy for anything,
thanks for listening to me, xxxx
i just needed to say it, since they told us i havnt said it....or been on here,

xxx

sweetkitty · 25/03/2010 15:59

hi ladies sorry not been posting this thread seems to drop off my active convos and I forget about it

First me update: 34 weeks already, SPD is killing me so much so that I am thinking of asking for an induction at 40 weeks as I have had enough, you know how much I like my HBs but between the SPD and the stress of not knowing when I will go into labour I think a planned induction sounds like the best plan. I am terrified of going into labour during the day with DP 45 mins at least away and me here with the DDs (although I do have friends close by it's not the same). Am utterly fed up not being able to walk and having to take so many painkillers.

Bethany is much the same a proper little madam I do worry how she will be with the new baby as she is very jealous of me and hates anyone else cuddling me. Her latest thing is if you tell her off or she is shy she just closes her eyes like "if I cannot see you I won't have to deal with you" she is very funny.

Disney - don't know what to say really. I hope it's not what you think it is and your DH gets better soon. Thinking of you all x

M2LAA - bundle of energy and naughtiness sounds about right for a 20 month old. What age is Aaishah now? I think solids can be a bit of a hit and miss until they are a year, I certainly noticed that once B stopped feeding from me in the night her appetite went through the roof. I would just keep trying her with bits of everything and don't stress too much. I found secondborns tend to copy everything their older sister does anyway.

ponto - enjoy CPs we loved it when we went. Trying to fit in a weekend this year but with the new baby, new car, house extension it looks unlikely

bebe - just seen you have been given the green light to TTC, exciting!

Hellos to everyone else

disneystar1 · 27/03/2010 11:04

just had blood tests results all were abnormal and need to see gp urgently, dh has gone out and says hes do it monday now, he just held me tight and walked out, he will be back soon i guess he needs to clear his head, were still or rather me trying to do the same things me childcare and doing dinner etc....but it feels quite horrible right now,

Poledra · 29/03/2010 23:08

How did it go today Disney? Did your DH see the GP?

pigleychez · 03/04/2010 17:38

Happy Easter everyone!

Sorry ive been abit of a stranger lately..

33.5 weeks now. Consultant was happy for me to wait till 34 weeks and if my levels are still high to take the GTT again. So guess that will happen next week.

Bebe- Huge well done on all this weight you are losing! I guess you have a fab incentive with the TTC.

Ponto- Hope you all enjoyed CP.

Disney- Been following you on FB.. Hope everything is ok for Mr Disney. Thinking of you all xx

Mama2- Hope you and the girls are doing well

Abigail too has her fair share of tantrums. She gets frustrated very easily and very cross if she cant do what she wants or get something straight away. She tries to do things above her IYKWIM but gets so frustrated that she cant.
Her speech is still amazing us. Uses full sentences and includes words like Fantastic and Brilliant. Whilst playing with her toy farm today, bought her cow to us, pointed to the udders and said Milk comes out. Think ive said that once to her... but thats all it takes, once and shes got it! Really have to watch what you say!!

Abigail got this horrible Sickness bug thats been doing the rounds. Was sick for days with it before passing it on to me. Then i passed it onto DH. Healthy house here lately!
Managed to get away for my friends hen weekend. It was fab!! Beautiful scenery as we were driving across Exmoor. The cottage we hired was fab and so nice, although in the middle of nowhere with no mobile reception so glad baby hung on! Spent one day in a very posh health spa having back massages and a 3 course lunch in our dressing gowns.- Very relaxing!

Hope everyone is well and Happy

its been soooo long since i posted on here, i thought perhaps it would have dropped off the threads im following or maybe a new one has started. if it has please can someone tell me where new one is!

i dont know if anyone remembers me now!!!

how is everyone doing? (i would read to catch up but its about a million pages to catch up on!)

bebejones · 11/04/2010 14:58

Hello Smudge! All still here(ish) but it is very quiet nowadays!

Pigley - know exactly what you mean about them doing/trying to do things 'above' them. P is the same.

P is so adventurous & has so many words now. Sometimes she will look at me & have a big ramble about something I'll say 'I don't understand what you mean' (or something like that) she'll huff & repeat the exact same ramble over & over until I get it & get increasingly cross each time. It's quite funny. She is getting really good at stringing things together though. Things are quite often 'awesome' 'fantastic' or 'disgusting'! Very funny!

Just been out & got a potty today & P chose some Peppa Pig knickers. Just going to be working on the idea of it all wih her for now. Although she is showing all the 'signs' that Gina Ford talks about!

Also really trying to get her used to a quilt instead of a sleeping bag. Now that the weather is warmer we figured it didn't matter so much if she threw it off....it is not going well so far!! I shall persevere

Hope everyone & LO's are well x

disneystar1 · 23/04/2010 12:46

hi all i havnt been on for ages, thanks for all the well wishes for dh, thank God he survived hes doing nicely now, hes still poorly but doing ok, hes been seeing a consultant about having his bowel removed and a bag fitted so looks like thats next, hes gone back to work pt he needs to do that though it does him good.

we need to boost this thread back up ladies were all lagging arnt we, why dont we all make a serious pact "i will check my mn thread everyday"

cant beleive our little monkeys are approaching 2 i mean 2 where the heck did the time go??

Samuel is doing great, after his op in january his hair is growing back now, weve a bit of an issue with maybe he has a bit of brain pressure again as he keeps getting nose bleeds and a bit of bleeding from his ears but to be expected we were told.

signs are coming on lovely now and we are talking to him quite fluently with it, plus speech as well.
no talking but we knew that too, but he did an amazing thing 2 weeks ago, well to me lol he sucked through a straw, we were in a restaurant and people must have thought we were mad like yayyy samuel ......

we were signing what does a dog do as you do and he was signing back but suddenly he spoke and said or tryed to go wowo like a bark now it didnt sound like anything but it was bloody amazing as he responded to a question directly, i am so so proud of him, he walks now he drags one leg all the time but he walks, he cant walk unaided outside yet though,
he loves the park and his face beams if i say samuel and sign slide he even gets his shoes and his ball, they say hes around 9 to 10mths in age at the moment, but he knows what im saying even if he cant speak, hes painfully shy though and gets very upset if say women in the park say hello or a child joins him near a swing he just clings to me, im not sure why he does this...

i hope everyone is well and ok and the lo,s are happy and enjoying the sun....

im going to go and read some posts now.x

MinnieMummy · 24/04/2010 13:49

Great news Disney, see all your family are made of super-tough stuff!

Not been on the ante-natal threads either, just coping with the day-to-day stuff really. I ended up in hospital for three days as I had these huge stomach pains, they thought it might be appendicitis and that they'd have to operate, but then it just all went away and no one was any the wiser.. all a bit strange. It was a bit scary when they gave me a steroid injection 'just in case we have to delivery your baby tomorrow' (which back then was about 7 weeks early) but obviously that didn't happen!

Since then, well just trying to keep my head above water - the SPD isn't too bad in terms of actual pain but I am so big (measuring 40-41 weeks now, i.e. 4 weeks ahead of what I should be) that I can only walk for about 10 minutes, both DS and Poppy can easily outrun me (and the cheeky madam has worked this out and runs away at every single opportunity - reins are constant when out now) and I just get sooo tired so quickly. I feel bad as I'm so limited in what I can take them to do (no soft play, even just the playground is a struggle) and that I'm no fun for them. Ah well, hopefully won't be long now, although both of them were overdue so I'm expecting to see my due date come and go.

Good news is that DS finally decided he wanted to be potty trained and has got it really quickly, so I'm no longer facing the prospect of three in nappies, phew! I felt a bit lazy though as yesterday he returned from playgroup with a message 'no need to bring his potty next week, we've taught him to wee in the toilet'. It was on our list for this weekend...!

Hope all ok. Will definitely endeavour to keep more up to date but obviously I might be a bit busy...

Poledra · 24/04/2010 22:44

MinnieMummy - that must have been scary! Maybe it will hlep reassure you, incase anything else happens, but I have my appendix removed when I was 31 weeks pg with DD2. They didn't give me a steroid injection, as I had a raging infection which they didn't want to exacerbate. Anyway, DD2 was born after spontaneous onset of labour at 40 +1, and is a robust healthy individual of 4 yo now. Mind you, if she doesn't stop pushing her boundaries so much, I'm nor sure I can attest for her state of health by this time next week

Disney, glad to hear your DH is recovering. I agree that you;re all made of stern stuff in the Disney household. And I'm absolutely delighted to hear about Sam's progress. It must be such a pleasure to be abel to communicate with him so well.

All is well here in the Tower. O is trotting around the place in fine style. Her words are still just single words, we don't really get many sentences, except the day I was telling her off for bouncing on the bed and she looked at me and said 'I boing.' I'm fed up with working - I want to quit and stay at home with the girls, but I also don't want to have to change the way we live so I guess I have to put up and shut up. Also, DH's job is looking insecure at the moment, so I have to keep hold of mine. On the other hand, if he does lose his job, we might just sell up and move back up North, which I'd love so there could be a positive side.

Off to bed now. Hope all the rest of you are well, and looking forward to hearing about the new babies. Isn't mcchesers the first in line?

mcchesers · 25/04/2010 04:18

sorry ladies..Ive not had a chance to catch my breath much less update. I had a little boy on April 6th..he's a whopper at 10lbs and 1 oz and we called him Ivor Stewart. He's just a honey so sweet and content. Had a few issues with big brother, but that's starting to pass. He gets excited every morning and runs up to see me and baby.

Delivery left a bit to be desired. 40 weeks, head still super high, zero dialation, cervix in antarctica. With his size and the fact that actual labor hadn't initiated..the midwife strongly suggested c section. I hated it, I cried, and then Aidan was sick and I had to take him to the childminder at 6am and he threw up on the car. So not really a stress free moment. So I get to hospital and one of the other nurses talks me into a bit of pitocin to see if labor would catch..no dice. So went ahead with scheduled c section. I'm still recovering..still quite sore and can't drive for another 3 weeks and wearing the largest pair of knickers I've ever seen in my puff.

so kids that's about it. It's been harder to bond with baby this time, but we're trying. I think it just takes time. I remember feeling closer to Aidan when he could giggle and smile. This kid is also freakishly strong. He can hold his head up and move it around from day one as well as roll to one side at about 7 days. What have I got myself into?!!

Cheers to all the ladies who've provided support re: c section. I just had no idea it would be this hard. xxx

good luck to the rest of the ladies in waiting!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 25/04/2010 09:13

Hi guys.

Abit of a ressurection (sp?) then?

It's nice to hear from you all! (although I do feel like I know most ofthe news via FB!)

Glad to hear things are getting better McChesers Having 2, esp. so close together is hard, but I'm now reaping the benefit. (mine are 21 months, so about the same as you) Breathe through it and it does get better, I promise!

Poledra Nice to hear from you again. I'm quite the opposite I love going to work (although I only do 3 days, are you F/T?)

Disney Glad to hear DH is doing well and GREAT to hear about Samuel's progress, he is a little star isn't he!!

Minnie I bet you can't wait to give birth! (How is your SPD this time SK?) Do you know what you are having? It's so exciting all these new babies!

I was just saing to Dh yesterday that Sam is almost to the day the same age that Oli was when I had Sam, it's quite scary! Sam seems so little compared to what Oliver was, Sam is only just 10kg, and little over 80cm. He is on 9h centile for bth height and weight, so a tiny dot. But he does make up for it in personality

He is so funny, he follows his Big Brother around like a little lamb and copies everything he does and says. His vocab. is coming on daily, although like poledra's O no sentences yet. He has the important words down to a fine art, Chocolate, crisps, biscuit and more!!!

Anyway, nice to hear from you all. I do keep the thread in my active convos and do lurk all the time...

bebejones · 25/04/2010 14:28

Glad to see this is perking up a little but again!

Disney - Glad MrDisney is doing better although must be horrid for him having to have his bowel removed. Sounds like work is a good distraction for him at the moment. Sam is amazing, what a little star!

McChesers - sorry it's been a bit tough. Ivor is such a cutie tho & I'm sure his big bro will soon be completely in love with him & it will all be worth it when they start playing together!

Minnie - that must have been really scary. Glad things are better now, not long to go!

Jodie - Don't think we have much to catch up on...see you on the other thread!!

Phoebe is a diddy dot too, still a struggle getting her to eat. She is about 78-79cm tall (hard to measure her coz she won't stay still) and her weight has dropped down to 9th centile now too. Probably a combination of her fussy eating & the fact she is non stop, like a little whirlwind!

She is very chatty & picking up new words daily. Much less frustrated now & seems to have stopped the biting & scratching. We are gearing up for potty training here. She is very good at knowing when she has pooed & said she had wee'd on Friday which was a first! In pull ups now which she can take off in the blink of an eye, so into Peppa Pig knickers when we start with the potty! Her friend who is 2months older is potty training & she watches with interest!!

Can't believe our babies will be 2 in a few months! People are already asking me what to get P for her Birthday, I have no idea! We are trying to make a list so any suggestions would be appreciated!
