Thanks everyone. Still talking to DH about all the options & have an appt to go back & talk to nurse in a month. At the moment DH is very reluctant to have another child. The drugs on offer aren't really very appealing for a number of reasons. At the moment I am considering not having treatment right now & seeing how things go. I am feeling the best I have felt since P was born! I know ultimately this disease will get me & I will get to a point where I will get worse. I know from personal experience what living with a sick parent is like (& I was alot older than P) & being an only child myself I found it really really hard. I would hate for P to feel the same & that is a massive driving influence for me behind wanting more DC's. If I choose to have another child I can have a different kind of drugs (which they don't want me to have if I want more children) which are more effective & are, IMO, far better all round (side effects etc). Just far too many decisions for my poor little brain to deal with & I just want to shut myself off really. But I will try to be proactive about it all!

Hi everyone
Sorry been AWOL for so long Just busy working and looking after 6 dc's

Bebe...so sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time...keep talking and thing will work out I'm sure.

Hi to all pg mummies...how's it going??

Abbie is a pure delight...singing and dancing and smiling all the time

My poor wee Mackenzie though has had scarlet fever and was really quite ill for a few days Rash still there but penicillin seems to have done the trick with the bad throat. Just hope Abbie doesn't get it.

Take care all xxxx

Rumpel · 08/02/2010 15:41

HI all - busy here too.

Feels like we've all had the cold for about 3 months now and this teething malarky is pretty awful too.

I'm making Calvin a cosy toes at the mo' he's too big for shop bought ones - he's 91 cm tall (shock) and in size 2-3 clothes. He's quite thin though. Makinbg it out of black fur and red and black skull and crossbones fleece SK - you'll be able to delight in all this soon too LOL.

DISNEY - great to see Samuel is doing so well - he is a wee trooper. Sorry you are feeling rubbish and hope it gets better soon.

POLEDRA - so glad life had improved for you and you feel happier now.

PIGLEY - your Abigail is obviously a child prodigy she is soooooo cute and clever.

Re CP and Butlins - we've booked again for CP in Whinfell for June. First time last year but it so good for the DCs - safe, lots to do, with 2 so young you can just go to the park, swimming pool and kiddy disco/softplay and they'll be happy. I'd take your own food if you can - as can be quite expensive (also not that braw). Only went to Butlins years ago horrid!

BEBE - am so so for you. But here's my tuppence worth - I think going from 1 to 2 kids is way way harder than just 1. I feel exactly the same as you - would not want Amber to be an only child because of the responsibility as they get older. (of course we never know how they are going to turn out or life for that matter)hence Calvin coming along. I have to say they do keep each other entertained and it is lovely to see and hear them giggle and play together.
However, it is much more washing, much less sleep, much less time to yourself, more cleaning etc etc.
Your husband won't understand as to men they can only love what is there in front of them and only deal with that - he'll be worried about you and Phoebe and not even be able to imagine another LO. I understand how you feel to a certain extent but way up the pros and cons - write em down. You've got P and your DH to consider and their quality of life too - it's crap I know sorry
FWIW I'd love another but I think it would be too much for my DH to cope with and I don't want to make his life any harder than it is already - I'm so ill when pg it would mean he would be under even more strain than working FT, studying for his BSC for the next 2 years and having 2 LOs to deal with already (not to mention money). Life sucks sometimes but like DS says we just have to deal with the hand we've been given and make the most of what we have. In the meantime here is a big squishy hugs to soothe you
((((( )))

Hope everyone else is well.

BTW - I'm reading the midwifery trilogy by Jennifer Worth at the mo'. OMG it is so sad and amazing - recommend you all read it.xxxxx

Isaidno · 08/02/2010 19:01

I love the jennifer worth books too!
cosy toes sounds fab rumpel x

bebejones · 09/02/2010 11:32

Thanks Rumpel It's such a tough decision & I am completely conflicted & change my mind every hour! At the moment we are thinking that I will put off medication for now, I am feeling great, best since P was born, & I want to give my body a chance IYSWIM! Maybe if things pick up financially(like we think they will) we will still be in a position to TTC later in the year. I am planning on talking to my GP this week & have an appt to se the specialist nurse again in a month. I am planning on finding out how quickly I could start treatment after having a baby as if my health wasn't going to be an issue postnatal then that makes a huge difference for DH.

Cosy toes sounds fab btw! You'll have to post a pic when it's done!

Anyone else planning on watching that programme on C4 tonight? Is it 'One born every minute'?

Rumpel · 09/02/2010 15:02

Hi Bebe - yep sky + it. Wanted to mention trying acupuncture - I think it would be great for you - go to a proper 5 element TCM trained practitioner though - you get a lot of physios trained in acupuncture for pain relief but i think treatment for you needs to be 5 element based.

bebejones · 09/02/2010 16:08

Thanks Rumpel, I will look into it, you are I think the 3rd person in the last week to mention it to me, so must be worthwhile!

bebejones · 11/02/2010 18:47

All gone very quiet here again! Hope everyone is ok & our PG ladies are all doing ok?!

Bought P a toddler bed in the sale,(here) which I am very excited about! It was about half price & free delivery! Just need a mattress, no rush though! No idea what kind of mattress is best to get. The foam ones just don't look like they'll last! Any ideas? Trying to get her used to a pillow & then onto a quilt when the weather is a bit warmer! Pillow not going well, although she doesn't throw it out of cot (mostly) she won't sleep on it & pushes it down towards her feet!

Have decided to put off TTC til later this year which I am a bit sad about, but is for the best. I am going to start medication asap & stop Sept so we can TTC! Fingers crossed it isn't too horrid!

pigleychez · 11/02/2010 22:15

Bebe- glad you managed to make a decision. Must of been a hard one to make!
Maybe the acupuncture is somethig to look into too if its being recommended lots.

Rumpel- on the colds. The cosy toes sounds fab!

Minipink- Glad you are well. I had scarlet fever a few years back and was nearly hospitallised! Hope your DS is ok.

Im 26 weeks now and getting rather large! This one is such a wriggler!! Im constantly getting booted and it really hurts!
Ive posted some pics of FB. Abigail is loving baby giving it kisses and hugs which is very sweet.
She seems so grown up now and is such a chatty madam. Even getting sentences now.. One more Cake please Daddy!

Hope everyone is well

Hello girls, been reading but not really much to add to the chat.

Ed is such a hooligan. honestly he's much worse than the girls were (SK take note!), he climbs everything, thinks he's invincible, nearly climbed out of the back carrier while he was being carried today!! He thinks he is talking fluently but it's not yet making much sense, think all his brain cell development is going into destroying things learning how things work!!!

He has a right temper on him - if he gets cross he hits things (me, the sofa etc) throws things and goes round the kitchen slamming the cupboard doors...which would be kind of OK except we're still not living in our house as it's still a building site, so it's not my kitchen he's destroying!!

The last 3 months have been sooooo stressful with the extension work. It will probably all be finished next week, then we can move back in and the decorating starts.....I wouldn't recommend it, but I think it will be worth it. Ask me in a months time!!!!

Hope all you pregnant lasses are going ok, and bebe, not easy decisions but I'm sure whatever you decide is for the best. my biggest decision these days is what colour paint!!!

Oh and I'm going to Egypt in Dec with my egyptian dance class. 7 days of dance and culture and no kids.....can't wait....Cass.

Isaidno · 14/02/2010 12:01

bebe - not long really before ttc, glad you made a decision.
www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detail.php?productid=ST01859&proddesc=Duvet+Clips&supercategory=BRN00043&bra nch=&wcategory=CAT00330&catdesc=&super=0040BRN00043~0010BRN00060~0060CAT00330&treecode=TRE00009 these are good for securing duvets to beds.

pigleychez · 14/02/2010 14:01

Bebe- With Abigails Junior bed I have a single sized duvet on it. Have tucked the end and one side under the mattress so that its abit like a sleeping bag with only side open.

Even if she is restless and wriggles or kicks it off her it still stays on the bed so easier to cover her back over at night and easier for her to pull back over herself if she gets cold.

Advantages of having a single also means the duvets are cheaper and are the covers.... with a much wider choice! Plus it will do you for years as she will be in a single bed eventually anyway
I think the Peppa pig cover Abigail has has really helped with the transition even if it doesnt fit in with her nicely painted and co-ordinated room!!

Hope it goes OK for you

Been busy this weekend paiting the Nursery ready for Baby. Sending DH up in the loft later for the rest of the baby stuff. As we dont need to buy much I feel like I dont have enough or the right things... Feel really disorganised even though im not!

Hope everyone gets spoilt today! I got chocs, red roses, card and a gift card to treat myself to something nice in my fav shop NEXT

TJuice · 14/02/2010 15:00

hello ladiiiieeeees!

just a super quicky to say hi!

and congrats SK on the boy! can't wait to hear names etc.

We are all doing well. Elodie is a real cutie with a massive afro.

See her pics here

She loves her nursery - they take her out every day. Recently its been to go sledding -its so arctic here! I actually took her to nursery on a sled the other day - the streets were so snowy and the bikes were all frozen.

She says a mixture of danish and english words and is a huge fan of Charlie and Lola - its been on so much - I am totally sick of it but she says "lola, lola!"

I am going totally freelance in May, but will be based at the agency I work for now, so have been busy networking, going to interviews and getting new clients in the pipeline. I was a bit bummed about it initially (it was a company decision to cut costs) but am now excited about getting to pick and choose interesting projects. A lot of companies here need the help of an english copywriter so I think there is a lot of work.

But plans for kiddy number 2 are somewhat on hold right now, until next year.

We are moving to an apartment upstairs - same size but with a bigger bedroom for elodie and a mini spare room. I hate moving! but can't wait to get in there and do up elodie's room. I want to do it clean but with retro touches - very danish style, like this.

anyway, better get on. she's woken from her nap and I'm proofing a very dull phD thesis right now.

love to you all

Tjuice

Rumpel · 14/02/2010 19:02

Hi all,

CASS - I miss my belldancing am very of you going on a b dancing hol. Not been able to go a s DH is working FT and studying for a BSC and I'm just to shattered to go of an evening with all the other stuff going on. Enjoy though.xx

TJUICE - great to hear from you. E is just too cute for words LOL.

BEBE x.

PIGLEY- you look fab and you must begetting excited now - as must the rest of you pg ladies

SK - did you not persuade your DH to let you get a pink luna as B was your last? LOL what you gonna get now?x

I bought a second hand urban detour yesterday - black, it is fab - really sturdy and Amber can sit on the front board if she gets tired (although I'll get a buggy board at some poi
nt). I've got a Quinny Buzz travel system my parent's bought u when pg with A but Calvin looks massive in it and a Phil and Ted we bought when C came along so I'm cleaning them up to sell and get some funds back towards our hols .

DH is away offshore again at the mo' so just me and the kids. No valentines for me today - not even a long lie - oh well.

hope everyone is well and squishy hugs all round ( )

Poledra · 15/02/2010 09:33

Morning all. Good to hera from you cass and TJuice. What a cutie E is! She looks quite tall from the photos, TJuice - is that right, or just the way the pisctures have been taken.

Had a lousy night on Saturday - some idiots got trousered in the pub along the road from us, got into a fight when ended up with one of them getting his head bounced first off our front wall, then through our living room window (old house, straight into the street). Police and ambulance duly called, arsehole man carted off to hospital and thence to ICU, in a very bad way. Fortunately, the secondary double glazing held, so he didn't actually end up in the living room, IYSWIM. DH went out (with fireside poker in hand, since he got punched the last time something like this happened), strangely enough most of the people involved had disappeared and the 2 remaining hadn't seen a thing when asked by the police Luckily, the DDs slept through it all. I am stragnely unsympathetic to the injured man's plight - the drink culture in our country has got totally out of hand. We live in a rural village, FFS! OK, we knew teh pub was there we moved into the house, but it's changed landlords, and they're trying to run it like a city centre pub rather than one in the middle of a village on a residential street. The police weren't too impressed - the licensing board will be getting informed, apparently.

Ah well. At least it's only the window. DH said the moral of the story is do not pick a fight with our house, it's been here for 300 years, it's harder than you and it Will Win.

Apart from this, everything's going OK. Hope you're all well. SK, have you got your new car yet?

Poledra · 15/02/2010 09:34

sorry for the typos!

bebejones · 16/02/2010 10:52

TJuice - glad you are doing ok! E is so cute!

Poledra - that sounds like a complete nightmare! We get people shouting walking home from the pub & that's bad enough! Poor you!

Rumpel - hugs back!

Pigley - think we are going to have to give the quilt a go (got a couple of cot ones) P has worked out how to get out of her sleeping bag! No idea how she is doing it!

Took P to clinic for the first time in 6months & remembered why I hate going! Just feel so 'judged' by stupid HV! P has dropped down to 9th centile for weight & is only just over 20lbs. She never sits still & eats hardly anything! But it's not because I'm not trying!! She's just a pain in the arse very strong willed & independant little girl! But still got the 'we aren't concerned yet, but she could do with putting some weight on, we wouldn't want her to drop anymore on the graph!' Poxy bloody chart! She's only 78cm tall as well (which is actually exactly where she should be on their 'chart') Trying not to feel too rubbish about it, but they just have this way of making you feel crap!

Isaidno · 19/02/2010 12:26

bebe - Poppy is only about 20lb - haven't had her weighed since she was 12 mths, but have done rough check on my bathroom scales. Charts are rubbish!

tjuice - Elodie is cute; love the hair!!

poledra - I would be completely unsympathetic too! Tosser!

Loads of snow here, hoping it will have melted soon as I am supposed to be going OUT later. I will be really peed off if the snow means it's all cancelled.

Love to everyone x

pigleychez · 22/02/2010 11:55

Bebe- Have you tried the duvet yet? hows it going?

Been super busy getting the nursery ready. Mostly all done now, even down to the tiny tiny newborn nappies in the nappy stacker!
Wanted to get sorted as I know we have a super busy March and April with lots of birthdays, mothers day, Hen weekend, stag weekend, wedding etc.

Im off to my friends hen weekend the end of march which im relly looking forward to. Its a spa weekend at centre Parcs in Longleat. 2 whole days of being pampered and relaxation! Ill be 32 weeks so abit nervous ill get too relaxed and something might happen but my friends have promised to pretend to be DD and whine, moan etc for me to ensure that doesnt happen lol
As others have pointed out this will be the last time in quite a while with the 2! Ive never left Abigail overnight though so bit nervous about that too.

The guys are all off to Dublin for the stag do!

DH won in a large online poker match on friday night. He came second and won 5 grand!!

Also heard that my BIl and SIL are expecting thier first in Sept. So there will be 4mths between the babies
So unexpected as everyone had written them off ever getting married or having kids after 15years of being together but soo exciting!

Really wish this grim weather would go now! A bit of sun would be most welcome!

OP posts:
bebejones · 22/02/2010 13:15

Pigley - getting sick of the grey weather too! We had more snow again this morning but it has all melted now...more forecast for the morning though!
Nursery looks fab BTW!
How lovely to have some relaxing time away! I'm sure A will be fine!
P seems a bit unsure about the quilt, she likes one of the cot quilts more than the other which makes things tricky! Although last night I found her asleep with her head on her pillow...first time she's done that!

Felling dead chuffed with myself as today I weighed in 1 1/2 stone lighter than the beginning of the year! Feeling the need to gloat everywhere!

pigleychez · 22/02/2010 20:58

Bebe- So you should be chuffed! Well done you! Think you must of sent it my way!

OP posts:
ponto · 23/02/2010 23:06

Pigley, I'm going to be at Center Parcs in Longleat last weekend in March, maybe I'll see you there! Very excited, it's our first time. Any tips from people who have been before?

Bebe, well done on the weight loss! I'm very , really wishing I had started my diet at the beginning of the year too, I'm still 2 stone heavier than I'd like to be but can't seem to get out of the habit of eating chocolate.

Not been around for a while but have read everyone's news. Nice to hear from some old faces as well as the 'regulars'!

Bryony is doing well, she is a real chatterbox. Sounds like Phoebe and Abigail are similar Bebe and Pigley. She's stringing words together so I'm left in no doubt exactly what she wants! Unfortunately she can't always have it so there have been some big tantrums. She's just started telling me when she's got a dirty nappy ('stinky' she says ) so I'm wondering whether she'll be ready to potty train before long, would be great to get rid of nappies forever!

Disney, how's Samuel doing now? Has his sight come back properly? Have been thinking of you, despite my prolonged silence.

Hi to everyone else, who's due to be the first to pop among the pregnant ladies?

Rumpel · 25/02/2010 15:47

xxx

disneystar1 · 26/02/2010 10:34

hi all no posing for me for ages as im so busy here,

bebe samuel is a dinky lad at 19 pounds but hes tall so skinny lanky lad he looks, fantastic on the weight loss really well done dont take no notice of those charts,

i think mcchesers is first as she has approx 4 weeks to go, which has flown hasnt it, how long have you other ladies got left now?

well samuel is a bit poorly today high temp and very grizzly, i hope it isnt my fault as im not supposed to take him to nursery for about 3 mths ish, but he was so bored so we went for 2 hours which he loved but now hes ill.{sad}

he can see out of one eye but not the other and it moves of its own accord now and is totally out of sync with the good one. but he manages, we have steps now and hand walking hes still very much a jelly boy with wobbly legs though, but loves loves walking outside with me slowly in his shoes.

as you know all his joint are fused feet hands etc, well as hes trying to walk he has fractured all his toes he only has to fall to break a bone, which is a real shame as he tries but his body seems to fail him and he gets so frustrated, his signing is good now and we have more communication going with signals, no speech at all but we knew that. he keeps pointing to the tv as he adores big cook little cook

i havnt read all posts here will catch up later love to all, hope all mummies and babies are well xxxx

disneystar1 · 26/02/2010 10:37
